We had a wonderful experience! The service from the staff was welcoming, the atmosphere was authentic and the food was delicious! We had the mofongo with pernil and another one with chicken, as well as alcapurrias. Will come back again for sure!

Such a cute and cozy little spot with amazing food and service! The food tasted fresh, the parcha juice is literally the best I have tasted in Rochester.. perfectly sweetened. Oh and the tres leches cake, literally chefs kiss! The staff were all very welcoming! I would most definitely be back and reccomend it to anyone.

Google
100% the best Puerto Rican Food I have had in Monroe County. The fried pork was crispy while still maintaining an incredible amount of juice, the tostones were fried to perfection, and the rice was the most authentic to my childhood experiences. I have absolutely no complaints, and as someone who likes to be very forward about their critiques, That is saying something. P.S. The empanada was fire.

I finally found an amazing, authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in the city of Rochester! This was my first visit at Que Chévere and decided to get the Mofongo Bowl with pernil, and the first mouth full of food immediately let me know I’m coming back again. I also got an alcapurria and it was big for your moneys worth! It was hard not to finish the whole plate, but I so graciously saved the other half of this well-portioned meal for my boyfriend, who said we have to come back for more very soon! Thank you for your service, the owner is very nice and I can tell she cooks and serves con amor y orgullo. I can’t wait to come back again and continue to see this Latina-run business thrive!

Google
I will base my review only in the food I order. I orden a vegetarian dish of rice, beans and sweet plantains. Plantain are frozen not fresh and bean are not tasty at all it does not represent puertorican beans. Also order a plain, mofongo that was good not too much garlic. It was good. I order a tripleta, my oh my it was horrible. It had ham as it was ready to cook with beans it has no business in that tripleta at all, the absence of meat and the presence of lettuce was obvious and to top it was toasted. Tripletas are not toasted is not a sandwich is a tripleta. The juice do not even try it, it tastes nothing like the fruit and just like sugar and water. Que chevere is not a place that I will be visiting again. I spend too much for the poor quality of foos that I was given and will not be visiting again. It is expensive!

Google
Ok hold on hold on.... I got my food brought to me by my coworkers so I dont know service or atmos BUT!.. Let me talk about this food real quick. Because MOFONGO BOWL w/ ROASTED PORK?!?!?! Hooooooly crap. Im from Los Angeles so im not foreign to diverse foods, and I hold food expectations sometimes too high.... But this joint right here????? Give them a damn medal because damn..... 10/10 DO RECOMMEND

The woman at the counter was very nice and attentive, but the food was just not good. The tostones were soggy, the beef stew was dry and heavy on the salt—I would have loved a bit more balance in the seasoning to really bring out the flavors. Unfortunately, the communication between the person taking my order and the kitchen seemed off, which resulted in a longer wait than expected and then the wrong item being cooked. I had heard great things about the food here, but my experience didn’t live up to the hype and I left disappointed. Hopefully, it was just an off day (which can happen), but I’m not sure I’d be inclined to return.

Yelp
Updating my review since Que Chévere has a new standalone restaurant on Culver Rd, but they're still serving the same amazing food! This is my favorite place for empanadas. The crust is perfectly crispy and the fillings are SO flavorful. The beef and cheese is my favorite, but I highly recommend trying everything on their menu. The Parcha (passionfruit) juice is great and I also love the tostones.

Yelp
A wonderful option near to park Ave, neighborhood of the arts and Winton neighborhood especially if you're looking for something different for takeout, generous portions deliciously flavored

Yelp
We had the mofongo bowl and also a dinner plate with pernil, arroz guisado, and tostones. It all tasted pretty authentic and was well seasoned (on the salty side, which is standard for PR food) and was tender. I will return and try the alcapurrias and sandwiches as well. The owner was friendly. It would be nice to see them succeed and expand to have a better "in restaurant" option as the vibe is mostly take out, though there are a few tables to enjoy your meal. I thought the prices were quite fair and the portions were quite generous. The mofongo bowl is huge.

Yelp
Great food with very nice people. This started in The Commissary at The Mercantile on Main and was so successful she added a food truck last year and now a real brick and mortar! Congratulations

Yelp
They didn't put all the food in the order. Their prep time was way over the estimate which is forgivable but for the missing items. The Cuban sandwich and beef empanadillas were great. Yellow rice okay. White rice had a bunch of unidentifiable stuff on top. Plantain chips were big and starchy. Would give another chance but until we do -don't recommend.

Yelp
El mofongo bowl es delicioso, me lleva otra vez a Puerto Rico! La dueña es buena gente, y voy a necesitar visitar a Qué Chevre otra vez porque la comida es... Bien chevre!

Yelp
Food was super good. Did a pick up order, service was fast and simple. Cute little spot with authentic puerto rican food.

Yelp
Im so sad because I feel like it has such great reviews on here. The mofongo was great and is really carrying the stars. My gf went to grab us some lunch and I really was craving a beef empanadilla. They didn't have any regular so she just got the beef and cheese one only for it to be the pizza empanadilla. If it was amazing -fine. But it was less not good at all which is fair for a Puerto Rican place but still kinda bothered because it is not even what I ordered. And then, it was supposed to be $16 for the Mofongo meal per the menu online AND in-person and she was charged $20. I would get if your online menus aren't updated but in-person too? No where does it say the price went up. The chicken was average with the mofongo but I don't think I would come back. So sad because I was really craving the beef empanadilla and I really want to find a good Puerto Rican place around here.

Yelp
Support your small businesses! Another hidden gem found! I've only taken a sample of each item and ask I can say is WOW! I could eat this every day. I don't think I could finish the portions in one sitting. I actually called 15 minutes before the owner Lisa Malavez closed. Guess what she said... "I got you!" Oh boy did she! She only had two pieces of beef stew left so it was not enough so I asked her to please let me try it and add whatever you have left please! I got the Monfongo with Chicken and a small side of beef stew which is accompanying a large portion of Monfongo and salad. I also ordered the plantains and beef empanadas. The empanadas are bigger than my hand. Everything is so savory and delicious! At the current moment she is located in the Mercantile commissary and will only be here for 2 more months! Soon to be a full functioning food truck more on the menu! The website is soon to come so stay tuned. What a beautiful luck today finding this delectable establishment. Good luck to you and your business Lisa you will go very far! I wouldn't be surprised if she franchises her food. Bon appetit my fellow Yelper's... I promise you that this is an amazing find! FYI I found this when asking what the line was for. I now know why there such a line for her food!
