The Best Hot Dogs in NYC | Eater NY

"This place presents itself as a bakery — including lots of snacks displayed in a glass case — but it’s really more of a lunchroom, and shoppers flood it in the afternoon to eat full-course meals of steam-table stuff like stews, roasts, and giant bowls of soup. In the midst of all this plenitude is a classic Colombian hot dog, festooned with sauteed onions, squirted with mayo, and then heaped with potato chips. Crunch, crunch." - Robert Sietsema

Google
Delicious meal with excellent service. Pamela & Natalie are the best servers in Astoria, they are very knowledgeable in the food menu and polite. The food is really good and are big portions. Food is not expensive but the charge of service in the bill increases the value and makes it look expensive. I’ll definitely will tip extra these ladies because we got a VIP treatment.

Google
Que Rico Colombia: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) Que Rico Colombia has a standout name and catches your eye — especially being located just across from the landfill. The food is flavorful and made with care, but there are a few areas where there’s room for improvement. The prices are on the high side considering the portion sizes, which tend to be quite small. It would be great to see a better balance between cost and quantity. Also, during my visit, the pandebonos were served cold, which took away from what should’ve been a warm and comforting treat. Overall, there’s potential here, and with some adjustments to pricing and food quality control, this spot could really shine

The breakfast is amazing. Come and try it. Gives you a really great amount and it’s yummy. Try the sauce.

Google
The service here was great! Friendly, welcoming and went out of their way. We got a few different things to try, but the grilled chicken was top knotch, but everything NY we ate was delicious. We will come back!

Google
Great service and atmosphere, but the food selection could be better. During my visit, there were only a couple of dishes to choose from. I tried the pork with side of rice and beans while the beans were delicious, the pork could have been more flavorful. Still, it's a decent spot for a quick bite.

We just visited for the first time outside of the JapanFes food fair and had a nice experience talking and trying out a crispy bunuelo and some tart lemonade

Yelp
Came in to get a snack while walking around Steinway . Got a guava and cheese empanada and a sweet corn arepa . It was so good I went back after to dine in and try two more empanada's . They are so fresh and flakey . I also like the decor everything is vibrant and they have meals to Colombian packages sweets Deff a place I will stop by when in the neighborhood

Yelp
Small pan de Bono and expensive . They charge gratuity 10% automatically for bread to go .... For that they don't give you receipt. Only if you ask for it ... Really 0 stars ..

Yelp
Venden pan viejo, y bien caro. Antes de comer pruébelo y déjele saber al personal. Un gran error por parte del dueño.

Yelp
Not good. Charges you the same if you're paying cash or card. They only give you one sauce even if you get three empanadas.

Yelp
New Colombian Bakery recently opened this week. I'm loving its proximity to the Steinway Street subway station. I find it so convenient that I'm able to grab breakfast and lunch here on my way to work in the mornings. The staff are super nice. I was asking a lot of questions on my first visit there about the various pastries they had and when they couldn't explain in English, they smartly got out their phone and google translated the answers for me! The bakery feels very spacious for the small space; the front and along the counter there are plenty of seating. They offer traditional Colombian bread, pastries, cakes and food. I've had their beef and chicken empanadas, chorizos, patatas and breads. The empanadas were delicious. The crust was nice and flaky but soft at the same time. The beef and chicken fillings were a tad dry but when you add the sauce; it's pretty great. The chorizos come with one baked potato per order. The chorizo is more on the savory side and not at all spicy. I must point out that they currently don't have a menu posted anywhere in the store or online. And the items in the display cases do not have a label, that I saw. So, it was a guessing game on how much my purchase would cost until I got to the counter. Not a huge deal but worth noting. Otherwise, I think this bakery is nice addition to this neighborhood and worth supporting.

Yelp
Big portions for their entrees at a good price and they have yummy breads in the bakery! The place itself was cute as well.

Yelp
Its hard to compete with Mama's Empanadas right across the street, but this place offers a nice variety of Colombian snacks and food. Its set up like a counter service bakery but i did see folks being served at their tables as well. The staff was really sweet, bilingual and accommodating, its really cute inside and super clean as well! I just ordered a large iced coffee and a chicken empanada to go. The coffee was strong and creamy with added milk, just perfect. The empanada was good, well seasoned shredded chicken and picante sauce that was actually spicy. I wasn't expecting it to have a flaky crust, instead thinking it would be like the traditional corn empanadas I am accustomed to, & love. It was however very good. In total, i spent less than $7 on a decently filling snack. Totally worth checking out

Yelp
I went to the new Colombian bakery, Que Rico 32-14 Steinway St on Friday which was once a Korean cafe and then an American coffee house for a short time. Like Piceros II the pastries, coffees baked breads were excellent. I paid approx $6.00 for a small coffee and chocolate layer cake. Everything is delish. I ordered and than sat at a table. The only downside to this bakery is that they have cut down on the number of large tables and seats, which once used to be teaming with patrons pouring over computers and coffee cups. All the communal seating has been removed at the rear, and the bakery is designed more like a pizzeria. The back of the cafe/bakery is a kitchen. There is a nice ambiance full of Colombian Culture with wall all including their futbul heroes.

Yelp

Yelp
I've been in a lot Colombian restaurants in the area and this one definitely have the best costumer service, the food is amazing, they have variety Colombian dishes. I came in a regular Sunday and had AJIACO ( potato soup whit chicken and rice on the side. ) one of the best in town. Like I said costumer service spot on!!! Come here if you want to enjoy the best Colombian food with friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
We stopped in for a simple order: two iced coffees, breakfast sandwiches, and an empanada. The woman behind the counter assumed we wanted milk and sugar in the coffee (just ask before making, we didn't indicate we wanted the add-ins) and had to remake. Even worse, the egg and cheese I ordered had no egg. It was ham and cheese. I asked specifically for no pork as I do not eat pork. I'm not sure how you mess up so bad. To try and remediate my bad mood (hanger started setting in), my boyfriend gave me his chicken empanada. Surprise - she gave us one with sausage in it! I'm in disbelief someone could mess up every aspect of such a standard order. My boyfriend tipped her well for the nuisance of having to remake our coffees, which is the only thing I could enjoy from our whole order. Please don't go here if you have any dietary restrictions as it will not be respected! She repeated the order back and still carelessly gave us the wrong items.

Yelp
This is a zero star review, I was so disappointed with the food and service. Very poor customer service at this place. We ordered from bakery some bread cheese, corn cakes all was not fresh but stale and flavorless, we also order egg Benedict ham and spinach breakfast, it also was not fresh. We would not recommend this place to anyone. Beware.

Yelp
I came in here before for the bakery portion and decided to give the restaurant portion a try. Not impressed, food wasn't that great. What bothered me the most was the receipt. The menus don't reflect new prices, they charged their own gratuity, charge for using card. What should have been a $55 meal more or less ended up being $72. On the menu grilled chicken is $15.50 and actual charged price was $18.75. So watch out.

Yelp
More like Que Regular. This bakery is way overpriced and the food is bland. The juices taste like water and not sure if pastries are fresh unfortunately.

Yelp
Tried their empanadas. A good alternative to Mama's Empanadas and much cheaper for Colombian-style empanadas. Got 3 for 6.25 as opposed to the 10$ for Mama's for the same quantity. Excited to try more of their pastries!
