Before I leave for Dallas I decide to stop at this little shop that specializes in donuts. I get 4: 1 chocolate, 1 caramel, 1 chocolate with hazelnuts and 1 with chocolate and a mixture of corn flakes and fuffetti. The donuts are well filled and nicely decorated. The dough is a cross between a classic donut and a doughnut. Yummy, maybe a thoughtful thread, but yummy nonetheless. The place is really simple, with a display case that shows off the products nicely. Service is fast and friendly. The price of the donuts is absolutely right.

Google
The donuts here are good...fresh and soft. I love stopping by for a quick treat or a breakfast croissant. The staff is friendly and prompt. BUT — fair warning: if you're paying with a card and your total is under $5, they’ll still charge you a flat $5. I was told it’s due to extra fees from their bank, but it’s a bit frustrating if you’re just grabbing a single donut or coffee. That said....make sure to either bring cash or plan to buy a couple things to avoid that extra charge.

Google
Loved their jumbo kolaches and efficient and friendly service. The kolaches were served warm fresh out of the oven. What made them stand out was the fact that the bread was slightly crusty/flakey and the hotdog was larger than usual, making for a more balanced bread-to-meat ratio. I’ve had fancier juicer sausages, which probably taste great on their own, in kolaches but for $2.80, the Queen Donut ones are a winner!

Google
Absolutely delicious! I got sausage and cheese kolaches, ham and cheese croissants, glazed donuts and apple fritters for a party - all amazing. Probably some of the best I’ve tried in Houston. If you have not been, you need to add this one to your list.

Google
I've been getting donuts and other breakfast items here for years and never misses staff is very kind and let you take your time and don't rush you when you're trying to make a decision on what to get. They also have a really good variety of flavors for donuts or cake donuts and their meat donuts are really good to you if they see this or you I recommend that they make a version of their meat donuts but where the breading is glazed and then everything else is stays exactly how it is highly recommend check them out

Google
Sending some love to my local donut shop! Queen donut is exactly what you want from a donut shop... fresh tasty, classic donuts, fast service and smiling faces the atmosphere, nostalgic, and old times, the kolaches are savory and juicy, and the classic glazed donuts, rival Shipleys. We sometimes walk over to the shop on the weekends for breakfast. Highly recommend! Thank you queen donut!

Google
Came to try the maple bacon. Would give a 4 It was good but was missing something. Maybe the bacon wasn't crispy enough. But was not bad. Cheese sausage croissant was good but little soggy. Jalapeño cheese sausage kolaches had the best flavor but too much bread to stuff ratio for me. The apple fritter was probably the best as far as flavor. Big selection and open 7 days a week. Friendly staff. If you are in the area go but not worth traveling for.

Google
I've been eating their kolaches since I was a kid. I always get the jalapeño and cheese. I prefer donuts from Shipley's. Their donut holes are the best though.

Yelp
In all my years of adoring kolaches, I have yet to find a more affordable and less addicting contender for the "Slap ya mama" award. Serious. The family that runs this spot is friendly, fast and patient. The shop itself is quaint and perfectly "donut-shoplike", just as you'd expect. I personally recommend the ham+cheese croissant, literally any kolache, and their apple fritters are pretty freakin mean. In a good way. Warm it up please! From the friendly service to the perfectly delicious kolaches, this place is a winner. The quaint shop, affordable prices, and tasty treats make it a must-visit.

Yelp
My five-star rating is for their donuts. For comparison, not flakey like Shipley's and moister than Krispie Kreme.

Yelp
highly recommend for donuts. great early morning hours. quick service. texture is fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything you could want in a well run, family owned kolache and donut coffee shop. Hats off to counter staff who were friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this little shop. Freshest kolaches and friendliest people! Easy stop in for breakfast.
google avatar

Anthony K.

Yelp
Everything that I have ordered here has been delicious. My favorites are the kolaches, the apple fritters, and the old fashioned donuts, especially the ones with chocolate. The prices are very reasonable and they have been at this location as long as I can remember.

Yelp
TLDR: Get the glazed. Get a kolache. This changed my 70-year-old dad's life, they are so good. Truly, these are some of the most incredible donuts my family and I have ever had, anywhere. Texture is SOFT, stretchy, pillows. Incredible dough. Flavor is not too sweet!!! Even the glazed is juuuust sweet enough and you don't feel like you're going to die from too much sugar. The Kolaches are just the right level of sweet, savory, and spicy. Their dough is just so so special. Queen Donut has set the standard for donuts everywhere.

Yelp
Hidden gem on 18th street. The staff is always friendly and the donuts and kolaches are fresh. There are a variety of donuts and kolaches. I am a huge fan of the Apple Fritter and Spicy Boudin Kolache (forgot to take a picture before I ate it ).

Jamie W.

Yelp
The glazed and maple donuts are incredible. This is also my favorite spot for apple fritters. Service is fast and the donuts are always fresh!
google avatar

Kristi M.

Yelp
THE KOLACHAES! Honestly some of the best I've had in Houston, no joke! I have been here a few times and they always have speedy service, awesome customer service, and delish food. I highly suggest the boudin kolache. The ham and cheese it tasty too! 14/10 would suggest!
google avatar

Yelp
New favorite donut shop!! Felt local, extremely clean, great service, and the donuts hit the spot!! I'd definitely recommend coming here for donuts and kolaches.
google avatar

Anoosha A.

Yelp
This place is IT. It's cute, fast and so delicious. Love the boudin kolache, you can't really find this anywhere else. Donuts are fresh. The cinnamon roll is my favorite in town.

Yelp
I'm so glad we found an amazing donut & kolache shop in the Heights other than Shipleys! Overall, great small shop with a large variety. Maple Bacon Donut: Great balance of sweet and salty. The bacon was still light and crispy when we ate it, and the maple icing was not overly sweet. Blueberry Cake Donut: These are my go to! Fluffy donut filled with blue berries and lightly coated with icing. They smell so good! Boudin Kolache: There's not a lot of places that offer this. I only know two places, and this place is now my favorite. Great flavor and ratio of rice and meat. Apple Fritter: This was cooked perfectly. Usually, I see residual oil and grease from apple fritters, but this one did not. Great flavor of apples and cinnamon, but again not overly sweet

Yelp
This place is great. I used to live down the street from this shop and now I am in cypress so when the craving hits I will make the drive all the way down to Queen to get a ham and cheese Croissant and a blueberry donut. The apple fritters are great but I haven't tried anything that I didn't like from this shop.

Yelp
The jumbo jalopeno kolache from Queen Donut is one of my Top 3 favorite foods in Houston. I love everything about this place. The owners are fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and DID I MENTION THE KOLACHES?! The donuts and baked cinnamon roll are great as well. The line can be out the door during peak times, but still I'm always in and out in about 5 minutes. If you're a kolache fan, do yourself a favor and check out Queen Donut - I promise you won't regret it!

Zachary H.

Yelp
Wanted some donuts after our daughter's class. Never knew I needed sausage egg and cheese donuts in my life, but Queen Donuts showed me the light. These donuts are so affordable without sacrificing that perfect donut texture and flavor. The variety and quality exceeds their cost, as low as $1.50 a dozen donut holes!
google avatar

Tenia O.

Yelp
Been coming here a while now & these guys still have some of really good donuts & kolaches. Not just one or the other...both options are good. It can be a little busy in the morning, but they keep the line moving & do it with a smile. Prices are very fair & those kolaches are sooo good! Especially the croissant options. If you're in the area give them a try.

Yelp
Great donuts, very friendly service! We were in town visiting and stopped in. Tight parking lot, but cars turn over quickly. This appears to be a very popular place with the locals. We will definitely return next time we are in town!

Bailey M.

Yelp
Great glazed donut & blueberry cake donut! Definitely recommend this donut shop Nice people
google avatar

Davis V.

Yelp
Small mom and pop donut shops are the best. Very friendly owners. Always sneaks in an extra donut or two and donut holes in your bag. Jumbo sausage and cheese kolache 5/5. Nice soft breading. Good sausage to bread ratio and not over stuffed with cheese. Glazed Donut 5/5. Very soft and bready and not too sweet.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing quality food every single time we have visited!! Best boudin & kolaches around!!!
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
Kolaches and doughnuts, enough said. So excited to have this shop around the corner from us. The staff is very friendly and quick! There are a variety of doughnuts, kolaches, croissant breakfast sandwiches, and coffee.
google avatar

Doug R.

Yelp
They have the most delicious, homemade tasting donuts of anywhere I've been in Houston! Staff members are extremely friendly and everything they sell is divine. If you haven't tried Queen Donut Shop, you need to!!
google avatar

Diane K.

Yelp
My favorite donut? A fresh apple fritter. Where is the best fritter in town? Here at Queen Donut Shop. Are they reasonably priced? Some of the best prices. Friendly? Yes, yes, yes. Returning? For certain. Ok, these apple fritters are tied for the best in Houston with Shipley's. You have got to try one!!!
google avatar

Jeff O.

Yelp
Best donuts in Houston. Always fresh and can't beat the price. Upset I'm just now learning about this gem after coming around this neighborhood for the past 8 years.
google avatar

Timmi C.

Yelp
Family owned, everyone is always super nice, and the kolaches are THE BEST I've ever had in Houston. The pastry dough is incredibly soft and delicious - the dough reminds me of this coconut pastry bread I used to get back in NY...but I digress... Favorite things to get - small jalapeno kolache + strawberry frosted donut w/ sprinkles + the thick cinnamon bun. Also..do not sleep on the boudin kolaches - they are crazy tasty! Support our local businesses, but try to leave some for me! :)

Michele B.

Yelp
best donuts I ever tasted. and so fresh. definitely my go to breakfast place
google avatar

Jill C.

Yelp
Our favorite kolache and donut place. My husband and I always end up picking something up here every weekend. When we have visitors in town we will always make them try this place

Erin C.

Yelp
Great spot with reasonable prices. Their sausage kolache "croissant" is the best I've ever had. Coffee is hot and service is quick!
google avatar

Caiqian C.

Yelp
Such great sausage kolaches, and great prices! They were open during the later days of snowmageddon 2021, and I swear their sausage, cheese, and jalapeno kolaches gave me life.
google avatar

Cynthia V.

Yelp
It may not look like much on the outside, but this place is a hidden gem! The donuts here are always fresh with plenty of variety on offer to fit any taste. I have a hard time not buying one of everything when I come - it all looks so good! I especially enjoy their apple fritters and kolaches - the dough is exceptional on the kolache! Service is very friendly and fast and the price is right. This is my go-to donut shop when I feel like treating myself!
google avatar

Jackie K.

Yelp
Just OK donuts. I drove up there because Queen Donut was on an Eater list of the best donuts in Houston, but I probably wouldn't drive up there again. The donuts were fine, but they weren't the best I'd ever had. The donuts were fresh but they were almost a little cold as if they'd been in a fridge. In comparison, I love how Christy's Donuts' donuts are still a little warm when you go early in the morning. Basically, Queen Donuts is OK, but my Houston favorites are still Christy's Donuts and Lee's Fried Chicken and Donuts.

Stu b.

Yelp
Here's the deal! This is the best mom and pops place in NW Houston giving us the best donuts hands down. But something happened to the spicy biscuits they used to offer. Not a good change, what happened???

Tanya V.

Yelp
What a great find! Their donuts and kolaches are so much better than most places and minus the long line! I'm so happy I don't have to go back to Shipley's. They're simply overrated.

Michael L.

Yelp
I tried it for the first time last weekend. I got the sausage and cheese kolache. I think it was the best kolache I've ever had. I also got an apple fritter, Strawberry filled donut, maple bacon, and regular glazed. Everything was good. I want to try different things when I definitely go again. The staff was also nice. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
All I can say is their food and friendliness is unparalleled! I typically get the ham and cheese croissant (the game and cheese is inside the dough) and it is soooo good. The staff/family that runs the business is just Super, they are nice and friendly and always recognize my husband or I. Although we do not live close by anymore, we still come by when a craving hits! Much love to them and their staff!

Zamantha G.

Yelp
Fresh donuts, everything we got taste great! Definitely going back. This was so much better then any other big name donut shop!

Holly C.

Yelp
We love everything about Queen Donut-great food and service! They also really support the neighborhood community.
google avatar

Sonia N.

Yelp
Been living in the area for at least a year now and can't believe we never stopped by here. This shop is great and their kolaches and croissants. Very tasty! Definitely plan on coming here for a quick breakfast. They have a minimum $5 for card. Parking is straight forward.
google avatar

Ted J.

Yelp
Tried the "Homer (Simpson)" donut and it was quite tasty. The total was about 90 cents and the man working behind the counter was jolly and happy. The donuts are inexpensive and I'm glad to support the local businesses, such as this one.
google avatar

Antonio H.

Yelp
I never noticed this place. Before today, but my friend was needing a sugar fix . There are no vegan options here this is donut shop classic donuts and kolaches. The clerk told me independently owned for over 26 years. I noticed a core of locals coming through. It is clean service fast and friendly. There is ample parking
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I happened to be in the area on a Saturday morning looking for a breakfast Togo. When I walked into the Queen Donut Shop, I felt like I was the only person that wasn't a regular. The staff seemed to be nice. Following what some of the prior customers had ordered, I tried a donut loaded with egg and cheese & the same on a croissant. I think it just wasn't my thing. When I return, I think I'll stick with my standard donut options.
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
Best old fashioned baked Cinnamon Roll in the City! Not to be confused with the fried, donut based, Shipley's style Cinnamon Roll which they also carry here. And less than $2. What a treat.
google avatar

Marc A.

Yelp
I've been a Houstonian for almost 8 years now. I came from the East coast where Krispy Kreme rules over all. I was amazed at how many doughnut shops there were when I arrived in Houston. I never been a fan until I had a son ... I live right down the street from this place and I must say this is the best doughnut shop I've ever walked into. The owners make me feel more welcome than most other business's. I can walk in at 11:45am (15 min before closing) and they'll take care of me with a smile. My son loves every single frosted doughnut there and I absolutely love their croissant sandwiches. I catch myself eating here almost every morning because I feel taken care of and overall appreciated. That's uncommon these days. I'll never stop going.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Hands down the best apple fritter around. Kolaches are great too. Small mom and pop shop with great owners.

Randy G.

Yelp
Yes Shipleys kolaches are good. Yes Buc-ees has delicious kolaches as well. BUT, this shop has the best ones in town hands down James Brown. The bread is delicioso. Muy rico and suave.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Almost a week later and I'm still thinking about the kolaches that I had here.... My friend found this place on yelp when we were looking for donuts before church. I'm definitely a supporter of the local donut shop that isn't a chain so I was definitely down to try it. My order was a chocolate cake donut and a jalapeño sausage kolache. The cake donut was great, moist donut with the light yet crispy exterior from the glaze hardening. Exactly what a good cake donut should be. However The real star of this order was the kolache. The ones that we got seemed to come straight out of the oven because they were so freakin hot!!! The top of the kolache must have had an egg wash because, like the donut, a light crispy layer had formed. This crispy later was so pleasant to bite into!! The dough was soft and warm so that was also a plus. I will definitely say this is my favorite donut shop in Houston, and here is why. This is a no frill place that serves up the classic fresh. Nothing fancy, but something you would easily come back to. I don't like the trend that donut shops are going with all these unnecessary toppings on a donut. If you do something right, you don't need to cover it up with fancy toppings. If this place is "queen" I'd like to be its king.
google avatar

Tammy L.

Yelp
Always the best! Service is quick! Everyone is true about their place in line. Orders are heated up fast! Everything is delish!!! Plus there's milk in a small size!!
google avatar

Erin T.

Yelp
I am the actual Donut Queen, and if you know me, you know this to be true. These are the best donuts in Houston. Probably the best kolaches too. Eating is believing.
