Dubai Travel Guide

"This unique property was once a working cruise ship that has been converted into a hotel, permanently docked in Dubai. The 13-deck ship features 447 refurbished hotel rooms and suites — including the Royal Suite with a large wood-lined private deck — restaurants, a spa, and a theater. History buffs can tour the ship's bridge and see what the cabins looked like in the 1960s before settling in for a leisurely afternoon tea complete with finger sandwiches, traditional cakes, and warm scones with clotted cream." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Queen Elizabeth 2 Cruise Ship is Dubai's Newest Luxury Hotel - AFAR

"A retired 963-foot transatlantic liner converted into a permanently moored hotel in Dubai, the ship arrived at Mina Rashid in 2008 and underwent an on-and-off, roughly decade-long renovation before a limited launch this year and a planned official grand opening in October. The property now features 224 thoroughly remodeled, modern yet nautically accented rooms and suites, extensive public amenities including more than a dozen bars and restaurants, a shopping promenade and a movie theater; five dining venues are currently open. In its heyday the vessel accommodated about 1,900 passengers and 1,000 crew, and standard rooms are being offered at under AED700 (about US$190), positioning the hotel as a relatively accessible, regal-feeling alternative among Dubai’s luxury properties." - Matthew Phenix

Our experience was wonderful from start to finish! Awasaf truly stood out, providing exceptional assistance from check-in. They were incredibly friendly and collaborative, even helping us arrange a special birthday surprise and ensuring our breakfast reservation for the next day was perfect. The hotel's isolated location was ideal for relaxation and disconnecting, offering a peaceful escape. The entire team contributed to our unforgettable stay, and our accommodation was superb. We will definitely return! Thank you all so much.

I found the whole experience to be relaxed but professional and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and varied but I must admit I was expecting a more traditional meal with sandwiches, such as cucumber. The warm scones with the clotted cream and jam was a pleasant touch to the end of the meal. I would recommend the venue most definitely and would come again. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly from the start.

From check in to check out the hotel was flawless. All the staff provided awesome service. We were made to feel welcome and like nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a captains suite which was fabulous. Lovely rooms with two bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable. Showers equally lovely. Ate in the golden lion pub onboard where the food was lovely, staff service level awesome and the vibe great. Would highly recommend.

I honestly almost don't want to leave a review so I can gatekeep this hotel as much as possible. Staying here is staying in a piece of history, it's incredible to walk through the corridors and think of all the places this ship has been, and all the people who have been on it. You can get lost for hours just walking around imagining what it must have been like in the 70s onboard the ship. This is without mentioning all the wonderful staff who were so attentive and helpful throughout my stay. The heritage tour was lovely and the guide (a gentleman from Kenya) was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly recommend the hotel and the tour. The pub was also nice, especially with the happy hour deal, and the burger in the restaurant was also very good, and good value! It's also not a long walk to the metro station (about 10 minutes). Overall thoroughly recommended. Nobody asked me to write this review, I just really really loved staying here. It was such a memorable place to stay, and really makes a difference compared to drab modern hotels.

A huge thank you to the receptionist especially Mr.Awasaf who checked us in . Not only were they incredibly friendly and welcoming, but they also surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade! This unexpected kindness truly made our stay extra special and set a wonderful tone from the very beginning. Such excellent service deserves recognition. Highly recommend this hotel, partly thanks to staff like this!

Amazing experience, we roam around the ship and it was challenging. We had fun exploring the whole ship. The front desk guy Awasaf was very nice and helpful. The paper guide that was given to us upon checking in was very helpful. At first we were lost finding out our room, it was funny but overall was perfect. Thank you.

We had a great time on the heritage tour of Queen Elizabeth 2. Mr. Brendan Russel was amazing! very friendly, engaging, and shared so many interesting stories and facts about the ship’s history. Walking through the different parts of the QE2 felt like stepping back in time. The tour was well organized, informative, and truly memorable. We highly recommend it to anyone curious about maritime history or just wanting to experience something unique in Dubai. Worth every minute!

I recently stayed on the Queen Elizabeth 2 and had a truly memorable experience. The stay was extremely comfortable — the cabins were well-maintained, cozy, and full of charm. The food on board was equally impressive, with a great variety and excellent quality. A special mention to Mr. Ayub in the restaurant, who was exceptionally professional and courteous. His warm hospitality really added to the overall dining experience. Highly recommend both the stay and the food for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway.
