"Queen Mother’s, the fried chicken sandwich shop that left virtual food hall Ghostline just a few months after helping to open the chefs’ collective in Glover Park, has moved its operation to another incubator space, the Cafe by La Cocina in Arlington. Chef Rock Harper, a former Hell’s Kitchen winner who ran kitchens at B. Smith’s and Willie’s Brew & Que, is selling brined chicken breast sandwiches cooked in duck fat and canola oil for lunchtime pickups through a GoTab page." - Gabe Hiatt

First time here and the food was okay. The chicken tenders were fried well but lacked season. If the tenders had just a little more seasoning they would've been perfect. The sauce did help with the taste of the chicken. The sauces complemented the tenders well. I also had the honey butter chicken sandwich and wish it had a bit more honey flavor. The fries were fried to perfection and were good. The service was good and in a good location. I will definitely return to try the other sandwiches on the menu.

Best chicken sandwich I've ever had. My only issue was that due to the number of orders they were dealing with, I was given the wrong sandwich. I ordered the Virginia Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich but was given the Elijah. I didn't realize this until I got home. Despite this, it was still delicious.

Queen Mother’s specialty fried chicken sandwiches are a delight for any fried chicken expert. Each sandwich is perfectly fried, juicy chicken nestled in a moist brioche bun. The Honey Butter sandwich, in particular, stands out with its irresistibly delicious vanilla infused honey butter sauce. It’s a messy affair that leaves you licking your fingers, eager for more. Though the sandwiches are a bit pricier, the quality and taste make every penny worth it. Highly recommended for a truly satisfying indulgence. Hands down one of the best chicken sandwiches in the DMV. #fallynsfoodieexcursions #chickensandwich #friedchicken #queenmothersdc

Food and service is the best here. You definitely aren't getting any small fast food portions. One sandwich is definitely filling and the fries are amazing. The Virginia Honey butter sandwich was soo good and the Nashville hot was full of flavor with a kick that makes you want more. Don't forget to wash it all down with some of the best sweet tea in the area. Definitely a place I would return to multiple times. I'm impressed

1st thing this is not a sit-in restaurant . You can get your food to-go or eat outside at tables so make sure it’s a nice warm day because that will affect the foods temperature. My son and I got chicken sandwiches, tenders and duck fat fries. My son is in culinary school and said he liked the duck fat fries but I couldn’t taste a big difference. He got mambo sauce I got honey butter. The chicken was crispy and good, but lacked seasoning (my son agreed). I think maybe more sauce selections because both of the ones we got were sweet, and would have loved a pepper or spicy choice. Food was good, price for items were a bit high, but all in all good quality. We’d go again.

The wait is finally over! Queen Mother’s has finally reopened at the new dining destination, National Landing Water Park. This new venue reminds me of an outdoor food hall that you would see at a European market. I ordered the Virginia Honey Butter chicken sandwich that was dripping with butter allowing for you to have the perfect bite each and every time. I also I ordered the infamous duck fat French fries which I devoured within minutes.

Was so simple but delicious! We had the honey butter chicken sandwich, fries and coleslaw. Definitely recommend! And the location has a great atmosphere.

We tried twice since they opened at the Water Park, but unfortunately they seem to be on break from 15:00 to 16:30, and finally we tasted their chicken sandwich, Virginia honey butter! First of all their chicken is bigger than Chick-fil-A about the size of a whole chicken at the grocery store. And the buns are fresh and shiny. The flavor of the butter was rich and slightly sweet. There fries where seasoned and a bit spicy which compliments the sweeter honey chicken sandwich. Over all, their chicken sandwich is really good. Next time we would like to try different flavors.
