Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is well worth a visit, especially if you’re already exploring the Mae Rim area. We visited on a hot day in February, and the scale of the gardens really stood out. The canopy walkway was a highlight—beautifully constructed and genuinely high up in the trees. Walking above the forest was fascinating, though looking straight down through the walkway is definitely a little nerve-wracking.
We saw lots of interesting insects along the way, which added to the sense of being immersed in the environment. The glasshouses were also excellent—beautifully maintained, with obvious care and thought put into the planting and layout. The landscaping throughout the gardens is meticulous and varied.
The gardens cover a large area with quite distinct zones, and driving between different sections made it easy to see more without getting exhausted in the heat. Entry was good value at just a few hundred baht including the car, and there’s plenty of parking. Overall, a very enjoyable visit and a great addition to a day out, especially with so many other attractions nearby.
