"There’s always something going on at this hub-of-the-village pub, which comes with a modern look and immaculately furnished bedrooms. Country cooking evolves with the seasons and focuses on sustainable ingredients: veg is supplied by a villager, pork is reared locally and seafood is from the Jurassic Coast." - Michelin Inspector

Yelp
Rediscovered this place the other night. Every bit as good as I remember, with great atmosphere and brilliant food. Service was relaxed but pretty good in general - this isn't the sort of place to rush things. The menu always looks pretty tasty, and manages be interesting and fresh. It's quite easy for gastropubs to fall into an unimaginative rut with their food. Totally forgot to borrow one of their menus at the end of the evening as it had some great ideas for dishes. I think the thing which put us off in the past was the slightly aloof service. I'm glad to say that the staff on that night were great - clearly from the pashmina and white jeans brigade, but very good none the less.

Yelp
I was staying in Long Load and we drove at least 25 minutes to get to the Pub. My hosts had heard about it from friends. Our party was 3 adults and two kids, age 7 and 9. We were there end of May 2012, at about 7 in the evening. At the same time we arrived, a local farmer pulled up in his tractor. He had stopped in for a pint on his way to feed his cattle. I thought that was a good sign. Nice atmosphere inside, but we had such good weather we sat in the garden. There was a decent selection of beer on tap. I was offered tastes of several so that i could make up my mind. Kids had macaroni & cheese with a bucket of chips to share. The fillet and mushroom dish was divine. Creme Brulee was rich, and we shared a cheese plate as well. Yummy. Staff was cheerful and offered to take pictures for us, which turned out well. We all enjoyed the garden. Some patrons brought their dogs which were not unwelcome. I felt like I was at the home of a frien, who happened to be a fantastic cook!

Yelp
Chosen at random on the net as somewhere to go for dinner Saturday night in Dorset we really came up trumps. Big open bar, fires at either end, mountain of home made pork pies on the bar, good beers on tap. Yay oh yay! Service was friendly, food in the restaurant was locally sourced and really well put together. Reasonable wine list, reasonable prices. Looked like a great place to stay too, if you need a break.

Yelp
I was disappointed here on many counts. I had been looking forward to a nice Bank Holiday Monday lunch and had checked out the sample menus online. It wasn't clear if they would offer the Sunday lunch menu, or the weekday set lunch but both looked good, with healthy and inventive options - two of our four are gluten free and two were elderly but adventurous eaters. In the end what was offered bore no relationship to what was advertised online. It was largely bar snack type food - the only GF options were ham, egg and chips or a burger without a bun. The latter would obviously be dire so I chose the ham and eggs. Good, but unhealthy and not what I wanted. My GF partner ordered only a starter - the soft shell crab salad - only to find it was breaded. The Eton Mess pudding had no meringue and was not nice. My cheese came with wheat crackers rather than the advertised oat cakes, the staff not aware of the issue and not caring. Service was friendly but very slow and seemingly rather distracted but the room had only one other table occupied. The saving grace was a much better wine list than expected - and the prices on our menu were much lower than on the advertised menus.

Yelp
I use the Queens Arms pub in Corton Denham on a regular basis both for business and pleasure and find the staff very friendly the food always fantastic and the place just looking amazing with great views and a lot going for it. I am gluten and dairy free and the menus are always clear to me what's available for me and what is not and I have always felt fine after having a meal at the pub. Parking is easy and there is always a roaring fire in the lounge bar and a welcome from the friendly staff. Gordon Jeanette Kyle and Ben have taken the Queens Arms to the very next level and I look very much forward to my meal this Saturday night as I've always looked forward to going to the Queens Arms Corton denham.

Yelp
Stuck in the middle of a small village, this recently renovated pub has a fresh modern feel about it whilst retaining its earthy muddy boot feeling. Fantastic fancy pub food at a very reasonable price. In the winter it has open fires and mould wine on the bar and in the summer, Pimms and pork pies.......... There is a separate more formal restaurant or if you prefer you can eat in the equally comfortable bar area. This place also has a handful of simply decorated guest rooms which have been kitted out to the highest standard. My partner and I live fairly locally but we experienced the B&B side in its sister pub a few miles away and thoroughly enjoyed it. Whether it's a morning coffee and a paper for an excuse to get out the house or a slap up meal on a special occasion, this place can cater for all. As mentioned, it has a sister pub owned by the same family and renovated to the same standard in another village called Buckhorn Weston which I have written a very similar reveiw about.

Yelp
Lovely pub in idyllic location. However, the food is over thought, way over-priced, and the service (on a Tuesday lunch) abysmal. Took over an hour for our ploughman's lunch and burgers to arrive on a slow afternoon. Food really disappointing - trying to be gourmet, but just comes off as pretentious and inadequate. Shame, as the setting is fantastic

Yelp
Eight of us had Sunday lunch here. The menu had an impressive choice. The table was grubby. There were ridges in the wood and this had remains of previous diner's meals and tiny pieces of broken glass. Starters were good and fairly priced. My haddock was superb, I made the right choice. The four that had roasts had more fat than meat on their plates. It would have been nice to have had different gravies for the pork and beef. No sign of horse radish sauce and the smallest pot of apple sauce for 3. The vegetables looked good but were not enough for four. Some had puddings and cheese they enjoyed. It would have been nice to have been offered more drinks not to have to queue at the bar and negotiate two heavy doors with drinks in hand. The pork pies looked good and we bought 4 between us. This was lucky because when we got home soon after three several of the party were still hungry so we tucked into them. The roast was overpriced in my opinion for the few vegetables and fatty meat. Waiting staff were very friendly. We had to park quite a distance from the pub, very little parking at the pub
