This is a nice little bar in the downtown Detroit area. The drinks are perfect, so are bartenders and atmosphere. In the summer they open the patio with awesome views and great people watching. Five minute walk to Campus Martius, Greektown, or the riverfront, Queen's bar is a great starting point to any night.

Google says it closes at 2 . I finished working down the street at 1:20 , arrived at 1:40. All my friends from work were in waiting for me . I told the guy at the door I just needed a beer, I really had a rough day and that it was still 20 mins before 2. My friend came out from inside . The guy at the door (tall, long braids, cute) he kept saying no , no matter how much I begged . That was very disappointing. I just move to Detroit . I just needed one beer with my friends to easy out the rough day and it was very disappointing . Suggestion don’t tell people you close at 2am when you really close at 1:30am because that is called “lying” to your potential guests . If you had the correct closing time in google (1:30) and not a lie (2am) I wouldn’t even had gone there . I’m a bartender down the street from you , and if google says the restaurant closes at 11pm we let people in until 11pm. That’s proper customer service and not lying .

Ask for John.. give him a liquor he’ll make you a drink. Probably best deal east of the Mississippi.

Google
The food is quite tasty here and so fairly priced! We got the fish sandwich, chicken nuggets, onion rings, and fries. Everything was delicious and came out pretty quickly, the onion rings were particularly awesome! Drinks were great, no cocktail menu so you just order what you know. Great first stop for a night out. Kitchen closes at 9pm on Saturdays.

The food is always tasty at this restaurant. The staff is cheery and friendly. The waitress and food server were especially delightful 😊 The Paella was served hot and perfectly seasoned. The cauliflower melted in my mouth as well as the mushrooms and cheese dish. This will always be a favorite for returned visits.

Google
Went in Queens bar with my husband for drinks, we both ordered dirty martinis, we sat and watched the bartender pick up olives with her bare fingers , putting them in our drinks after going in and out of the register, and handling money. So Gross wanted to throw up on the bar. We’ll never go back. Too bad , it was a cute retro bar.

Google
Super chill downtown spot with a great price for a burger, fries (dilly and delicious) and a cider (bonus points for having a good local cider available).

Google
It's fun here. One of my favorite bars downtown because the bartenders know how to operate in the small, compact environment, which is always entertaining. Go Tigers!

Yelp
Detroit has some really great places to stop and have a drink. This place does not disappoint for sure. It's a very well lit bar with lots of places to sit and lean. If you don't get a seat you don't feel uncomfortable. The service was outstanding they were able to take care of a large group very quickly. Nice job.

Yelp
Came here for a cocktail after eating elsewhere, it's smedium sized, I love the little two-person booths they have in there. They also have an outside patio. Had a lemon drop and it was strong and declines, just how I like them! Service was friendly and prompt and the music was jamming.

Yelp
Cute bar downtown. Good music, good drinks, cool music. Great place to sit and talk or catch up with someone. Reasonable mid to low bar prices. Service was super fast! Would recommend

Yelp
The establishment is actually pretty nice. Most of the bar tenders are very personable and kind. However, the male bartender by the name of Matt is incredibly disrespectful. Upon closing time, I quickly took a bathroom break and realized the restroom had no paper towels for hand drying. Consequently, I approached the bar where I encountered Matt and politely asked for some paper towel to dry my hands. I was immediately met with disrespect when Matt handed me a solitaire black drink napkin and responded "bye" in such a rude and stoic manner. I understand the readiness to get off of work, but it was completely disrespectful and unnecessary. Especially considering that I said lI promise, 'm leaving I just need some paper towel. " Fortunately, one of Matt's coworker was kind enough to simply hand me a paper towel. If Matt wasn't there, I would give them 5 stars! The rest of the bar tenders are very nice, respectful to everyone, and pleasant to be around!

Yelp
A great place to start out the night with! Has cheap drinks and is a good time to sit around with friends and chat. Had a more older bar feel with wooden panels and decorations. Got multiple drinks with fast and for a good price. Might be smart to get there relatively early as there was a line that formed starting around 11 PM.

Yelp
Always a good time here. Met up with some friends on Sunday for drinks. Had a really great time. Met some new friends. Always a nice mixed crowd. The food is also really good. Portion sizes are big. The drinks are not super expensive.

Yelp
A pretty solid bar for downtown Detroit. A moderately sized place with a good atmosphere and some mid-century modern vibes. Definitely a good spot to stop in after work or later in the evening. We only stayed for one drink so I didn't get the chance to really experience the place, but I plan on coming back sometime soon.

Yelp
I've been to Queens Bar a couple of times while visiting the area - once a little earlier in the evening, and once a little later. Both times were enjoyable but totally different experiences. Earlier in the evening, this spot was chill and not too wild. Late at night it was a different story! The outdoor patio area was packed and they hit capacity pretty quickly while we were there late on a Thursday evening. It was one of the few places open til 2 am so we were there for the long haul. The line to order at the bar was long, but it was moving quickly. The tequila shot Nate ordered to sip on was a huge pour! Like a Birch Lodge shot :) The vibe was fun with loud music and happy people, except for the people at the door who weren't able to get in. The two door guys were pretty friendly considering the late night and bit of a rowdy crowd. The bathroom is downstairs so be prepared for that. It was clean and stocked when we used it which was great. I noticed they had Better Made chips for sale so I bought a couple bags as we were leaving. The bartender was joking around with me and had a big happy smile on her face which was so nice and refreshing. I guess I'm used to surly bartenders at dive bars, which is totally fine but I liked her attitude. I didn't know but apparently they do serve food during the day - looks like mostly sliders and small bite type items. I'd come here again especially in the early evening. The nighttime vibe was fun and party, laid back so if that's what you're looking for definitely stop by.

Yelp
Queens bar is a solid place to visit for drinks. Nothing fancy, but just a really great location. It has indoor and outdoor seating but you will want to get as close to the bar as you can..although you may have to fight to get the bartenders attention occasionally. There is always a lively crowd. If you are out and about and need a place to grab a few, go for it!
google avatar

Carolina C.

Yelp
Queens has a cool atmosphere, and if you get there early enough diner-style seating. The drinks are fairly-priced, but the bartender was quite short and rude. Note that you have to order at the bar and there was never more than 2 bartenders serving regardless of the amount of people in the bar. The Kitchen closes extremely early so don't make plans to get food there. Overall, the decor is nice and Queens maintained its original Detroit ambience, but the service could be greatly improved.

Yelp
We were out hopping around Detroit to celebrate my birthday and we happened upon this bar. We got here just in time!! We were able to sit at the bar and order our drinks. As we were sitting there the bar got extremely busy you could tell it was a popular spot! There ended up being a line out the door! We talked to a few regulars who worked in the area and were having a drink before their shifts. We were already getting a bit boozed up, so we needed to start rapping things up or our evening plans would be spoiled. A great place to check out if you're in the area!!
google avatar

Yelp
Bartenders are nice - sometimes security can be rude. Wait can be long if you come late enough in a busy day. Drinks are very cheap - $6 for downtown- can't beat it
google avatar

LaTina J.

Yelp
Okay spot, went on a Saturday night, 10 p.m. seemed to be the right time before the line started to form outside. We didn't have to stand around long before a table became available. The drinks were okay and affordable. The bartenders were cool. I personally prefer a older crowd but it was a good mix of folks.

Kris P.

Yelp
Great bar full of locals. Typically good vibes but I was in there yesterday and overheard the shorter female bartender with Locks upset about some of the people in there. Things escalated and I saw her grab a bat and hurl gay related slurs at the guests she was having words with. I'm not sure what truly transpired but never should slurs of any sort be thrown around. I will not be returning!

Yelp
My coworkers and I decided to stop by this place together. A few others have visited here quite a few times, so we decided to give it a try. There was plenty of bar seating open and some good tunes were playing as well. It seemed like a really chill vibe. A gentleman came over and got everyone's order. We places our card on file. We celebrated a few birthdays, so it was a fun place that was not too crowded. The bartender made my boyfriend's drink pretty strong. He did not cheap out at all. We watched him poor a happy and heavy serving for his drink. He was impressed as no other place has made it this good for him in Michigan. The gentleman was funny and talked with us for minute. He checked on us frequently, even when more people came in. The only reason it is a 4 star is I believe it was a manager or owner but he had an attitude with everyone. He was rude and cold. My friend spilled his birthday drink and he did not give him a rag to dry his pants off. He just glared and quickly wiped the counteer. My friend made a joke and said I guess I cant get a refill for spilling it and laughed. He was rude about it saying he is not held accountable for something he did and walked off. It was a simple joke and he could not have a personality for that. The baretender was perfect. I would still come back in the future.

Yelp
Their po boy sandwiches are super yummy! I love the bartenders here. They are all so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is chill - perfect for sipping a cocktail. Also, their music playlist is on point.

Yelp
Very cool trendy spot. Great drinks and atmosphere. It was my first time here and I'd definitely revisit and recommend. In and out in about an hour, had amazing green tea shots and the bartender took shots as well! Definitely my kinda please! Enjoy

Yelp
My first visit in. Felt comfortable coming in by myself. Bartender asked what I like and my preferred alcohol (rum) and made this tasty creation for me. Friendly staff. I'll for sure come back. They have food, but I didn't get any.

Yelp
I was headed to an event in the area and needed a quick bite. I saw they have portabella sliders and headed over with my sister. It's an easy to find spot right at the corner of Farmer and Grand River. It wasn't the most welcoming place upon entering. Took a quick scan and sat at a booth, the bartender said to come order at the counter when ready. You will have to request a food menu as it not posted like the drinks are or offered outright. We placed our order with very little pleasantries but I will say while lacking in hospitality, the food is surprisingly good! The menu consists of a variety of sliders, a couple soups, elevated bar food. The portabella slider had great flavor and the fries were hot and fresh! The onion rings are huge! Didn't grab photos of the sliders as they were eaten almost immediately. Maybe the vibe is supposed to be more elusive, but a warm smile or welcoming hello would go a lot further.
google avatar

Yelp
Good night cap, main event, or pre game spot. Always a good time. Bartenders are quick and there is a good crowd no matter the night of the week. The drinks are cheap, and this isn't a place for craft cocktails so just keep that in mind.
google avatar

Ariana S.

Yelp
You can't ask for a better bar than this! Incredible service and incredible drinks! There was only one bartender manning the bar (it was pretty busy) and he still took his time with each perfectly crafted cocktail. They don't have an extensive or expensive menu here but they can make pretty much whatever you ask for! Also, the decor in this place is stunning, love the gold accents and elegant seating. Definitely would come back, only good vibes here
google avatar

Keith G.

Yelp
Came here for a pub crawl. Cocktails rated poor by all I asked. I'm a beer guy, mostly, and their selection on tap is quite limited.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
This is the spot for familiar faces and cheap drinks. I recommend this as a perfect spot to pre game or the spot where the party ends and begins.

John O.

Yelp
A great neighborhood bar that has gone to greed and corruption of Detroit. Two poorly made drinks $45! When I asked, we were told 20% surcharge for orders placed after 11 PM plus tax. No wonder the place was emory. Gone of the days of live music, a hip crowd & great drinks.

Yelp
Love queens! Open, inviting and a great spot for most occasions! It's on the smaller side with about three booths, four or five high tops and about eight tables and an outdoor patio too post COVID quarantine. I've been here on a date, meeting coworkers after work, post tigers game happy hour, or the last bar after a night out in the D. It's met all the needs of whatever person/group I was with. Pretty solid beer, spirits and food menu! Won't break the bank either! They go off the typical beer menu grid and carry a lot of Michigan made favorites. Draft and bottle! Their food menu is all under $14. Two beers and a coney dog will cost you about $20.00 but worth it! Their fried pickles with dill dip is delicious. And for those who don't like coney dogs...get one here. I'm not a fan of the traditional Detroit coney but man this place hit the spot. Small slices of onion with a brown bean chili and a very flavorful hot dog. Street parking only. And must take the stairs to get to the bathroom. It's a must try in Detroit, definitely worth a drink!

Yelp
This would be one my less-preferred bars in Detroit to go to but I was with a group of people so we went here. Unlike some other bars in Detroit, this one didn't have a cover charge to enter. The music playing was quite interesting - at times, it was gospel and other times it was rap. The floor was a mess and I couldn't help but to stare. It was so dirty. Along with the floors, the tables weren't cleaned or had the precious drinks removed so we couldn't set our drink down. My friend ordered a drink and it came pretty fast. It was strong and not too expensive. Not a bad bar but there's definitely way better bars to go to if you're in this area of Detroit.
google avatar

Yelp
It may have been because we went on a week end, but I was not very happy for some reason. I walk in and it was wall to wall kids,, girls screaming for no apparent reason,, guys just rolling around high fiving a each other. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's totally Burndale/Royal Choke "ish." I come to Detroit just to get away from all that childishness. But I really can't blame Queens Bar for this. This is the price Detroit nightlife has to pay for its progress. Popularity really does have it's down side. Aside from everything else,, it is really pretty bar. Old school music blasting which seems like a good time... I wouldn't know since it was so packed I didn't get a chance to order a drink at the bar. Same thing the other way,, my friend took her more than 30 minutes just to grab a bar tenders attention to cash her tab out. It's probably a fun bar. If you're into duking it out with people for the bar tenders attention. I'm sorry I came on a wrong day. Thanks for reading my review. I hope this helps. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while exploring the city yesterday afternoon. It was 2-3pm on a Saturday and there were about 10-15 customers there (so not overcrowded but still a nice crowd). The bartender was friendly and offered suggestions from their vast draft beer selection! I had the EMBC Elephant juice IPA which was a delicious hazy NE style IPA. Prices were reasonable ($7 a beer). The decor is modern and trendy. Full bar but no craft cocktail list which I was a tad surprised by as the bar itself seems so trendy (though the bartender said she could whip us up whatever we wanted had we gone the cocktail route). We didn't eat so can't speak to the food. Overall this was a great mid afternoon spot, though I do think it's known as a fun spot for nighttime festivities as well! I would definitely recommend and I plan to go back again soon!
google avatar

Carolyn E.

Yelp
I love the location of this bar and the outdoor space. The decor is warm and inviting, they have games available to play, and the food is cheap! It's not great, but it's solid bar food, and I bet their sandwiches are good. I'll order one of those next time. We ordered onion rings and buffalo "wangz." I have to admit, with a name like that, I thought they'd be better. Small and a little soggy, but for $6? Sure. Plus homemade ranch! The onion rings were frozen, but you get a huge basket hot out of the fryer for $5. The kitchen is open late, even on Sunday, which is a huge bonus. The service is weird - you'll need to order from the bar if you're sitting at a table, but everything came fast. We'll be back to play games for sure.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Totally OK art-deco bar! Came here with some friends on a Friday evening. We had a good time. It was really crowded due to an event downtown, but bartenders seemed to be doing a decent job. It gets a little loud and there was a DJ scheduled to go on later in the night so I think the place turns into more of a danc-y club at night, but we left before that happened. All in all, it was a decent place! I can't comment on the drinks since I didn't indulge (aside from water, etc.), but my friends all seemed pleased!
google avatar

Asha P.

Yelp
The Arabic security guard is incredibly racist. I've never experienced any security telling a group of black women to get the fuck out before he blows our teeth out of our mouths. Also told me I don't know what he's about and he will come for me because I asked him why he was bothering us but not the white patrons. I'm so upset and shocked. Mind you, the rest of the black employees said nothing. Terrible experience. Security at the door was terrible and rude. The last time I came a few weeks go it was a really good time. Unfortunately, I'm afraid to return. Detroit is not black. It's white. And it's pathetic.

Yelp
I've been here a few times with friends and am just now getting around to making my review. All in all, it's a decent bar that's reasonably priced and has a decent array of bar food, which you can see in the picture I've uploaded. My friends enjoyed some of the beers on tap while I asked for them to make a Johnny Vegas cocktail, which they hilariously improvised for. There were quite a few people around us on dates, with coworkers, or having an afternoon meeting. This venue seems ideal for any of them. The food was a bit sub-par. It took a while to come out (we were ready to leave by the time it did) and wasn't very tasty. My bf and I ordered a set of 6 sliders and generally found them to be okay (he loved the chicken one) but did not like the mushroom one at all. The fries were soft and tasted as if they'd been sitting around for a while. I wouldn't order food again. I would however, visit if my friends decided to come! The vibe is nice with some music and board games in the corner. Not a bad place to try!
google avatar

Yelp
Queens Bar was the last stop of my Detroit bar crawl. We stopped by because it's a friend's favorite bar. The interior reminds me of a mid century modern diner, so it's charming in it's own way. It was pretty crowded for a weekend evening post-Tigers game, which was to be expected. We ordered the special cocktail (some orange juice, ginger beer concoction with I forget what alcohol) but it was kind of awful, ha. I've never had a cocktail that tasted so odd & like these flavors didn't belong together. Meh. 240/365
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
I only like this place when I visit with my cousins, who live around the block. They are regulars and know everyone behind the bar. As such, they (and us by proxy) get really great service and strongly-poured cocktails. When Jacob and I go without the cousins... we're lucky to catch the attention of a bartender and when we get a cocktail, to even taste the liquor inside. And I'm talking we've done like, ten visits with the fam, and another five or more visits without them but still no hint of us ever becoming regulars. Decor is cool. They've got an oak-wood, rounded corners, 70s vibe. There are board games. Things get rowdy and crowdy on game or concert nights. Prices are fair considering it's smack-dab downtown. There's no free parking nearby, so be prepared to pay $10 at the Z or a few bucks if you're lucky to find a meter.
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
My favorite downtown bar!!! Seating available indoor and out, great service. They can do with a little more variety in liquor but still great. Check it out if you haven't.

Alaina A.

Yelp
Cute bar, walked in at 0:30 I asked for something sweet. Bar tender made me a mai Tia, was perfect.
google avatar

Raquel T.

Yelp
This bar is honestly adorable, even if that sounds weird to describe a bar. It has a classic old school vibe with the walls and bar. Now that's its patio season again, they have a comfortable space on the side of the building. The bartenders are great, polite and entertaining. There's a wide variety of drinks from cocktails to beer. Strongly recommend an ice cold beer with one of their sandwiches. A group of friends and I spent an afternoon on a peddle pub downtown and this place was our saving grace. Everyone was definitely buzzed and their cheeseburgers revived us all. Highly recommend if it's a nice day in the D to sit outside and enjoy some good people, drinks, and food!

Artur C.

Yelp
This place used to be nice but I'm Never going back to this place. Guy at the door was so rude it was raining a lot and he made us go outside in the rain we got soaked and we had to leave even though the bar was not busy at all. It made no sense to make us go outside. What a shame. NEVER GOING BACK
google avatar

Bobbi-Jo W.

Yelp
Queens was a recommendation from a woman we met who lives in the area- friendly service, great upbeat vibe and an awesome playlist both nights we visited! One of our faves from our visit to Detroit! (Bonus: spotted a tiny piece of Seinfeld decore)

Allie Z.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and very nice people! Played great music too! Clean bathrooms too! Went with my brother
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
This is a nice bar that plays great music. I wish they had a cocktail list but the drinks I did order (vodka on the rocks with soda) were mixed as asked and strong. We also ordered some food. The fries were decent, but I wasn't a fan of the burger sliders. The meat was dry and didn't have much flavor. But aside from that, I was really digging the feel-good vibe of this place and the friendly bartenders. We went on a Saturday night so it was pretty packed. I look forward to coming back on a less busy day/night to play some of the board games they offer.
google avatar

Jameson J.

Yelp
The onion rings are not something I'd order again. They were dry, stuck together, and burnt. Its a cool spot gets pretty busy late at night the crowd is a fun group of people. The bartending sometimes can be a little slow. They do have food late at night which is a plus. Not really much to this place bathroom is downstairs located in a older basement but other than that, nothing special.
google avatar

Madison H.

Yelp
Very fun place for late night drinks! Great music! Drinks are strong af! Loved the energy in this place! It deserves more hype!
google avatar

Kathleen L.

Yelp
I came here for a few drinks, and while the drinks were just fine, there was nothing that made my experience here spectacular. I had fun with my friend, but there were a few things that I noticed that didn't improve my experience. For one, the backs of the booths are so low that you can't sit comfortably. If someone is sitting behind you, you have to be sure not to lean on them or hit them with your hair or arms or something. But even if someone isn't behind you, you still can't just lean back. It's also just a little annoying how loud it can get in there. I know it's a bar, but it looked a little more quaint to me so I had hoped it would be a bit quieter, and it wasn't. That was my bad for assuming. Overall, I'd come here again for a quick and easy drink, but I wouldn't come here for the comfort or atmosphere.
google avatar

Colin C.

Yelp
Conveniently located downtown on Grand River. Decent liquor selection and craft beer offerings. A small food menu as well. There's also a patio for when the weather is nicer and you're looking to have a cocktail outside in downtown Detroit which is nice. Average spot with convenient location but nothing that is going to wow you here.

Christine O.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite and drink before a show. Ordered a Pinot noir and was served a gross Pinot grigio in a can. Asked to order food and told kitchen was closed. Music was awful and deafening. Would not return.
google avatar

Jacob F.

Yelp
Definitely a cool little bar. The building, the furniture, the windows lining two full walls. I like it. I'm told it gets really busy, but the few times I've been here, it's been fairly mellow. Beer selection is nice, bartenders are cordial, and prices are right. I don't know, there's nothing about Queens that really blows me away or stands out, but it just seems like a good place to hang out for a few drinks.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
It's not a cheers bar experience. The staff should be more engaging and customer forward. If your looking for fun, bring your own. Food is really good for after event hanging out! Loved the onion rings and pickles. L

Yelp
We spent New Year's Eve at Queens Bar and it was a great time! It's small, but contemporary so the space makes it feel larger than it actually is. There is also a nice outdoor space we may have used if it wasn't the dead of winter. We had several different mixed drinks throughout the night and I enjoyed all of them. We also got food - burgers - which I didn't enjoy quite as much. The burger has a very thin patty, so if you are looking for a thick juicy burger, look elsewhere. The fries though were great! It's hard to judge service on NYE because of how crazy it is, but I was pleasantly surprised with the kindness of the staff and the quick turnaround on drinks considering how busy it was. They even did a free champagne toast which was the most amount of a champagne "toast" I've ever seen.
