Stopped by this bar because they had tall cans on special for $5.50. Ended up having a few beers and sharing a large order of fries. The portion was big, and they were exactly the kind of fries I like: great texture and super satisfying. The bar has a bit of an old-school vibe, but the spacious layout made it feel relaxed and comfortable. Service was friendly and everything was great overall.

Google
Great bar for beer and food late at night. They have happy hour starting at 11pm :) Beer was cold and food was great, I would definitely come back and bring other friends.

Google
Googled this place for my boyfriend who wanted to go to a sports bar to watch the Jays win the AL division. He wasn't disappointed. Sat outside and the crowd was awesome cheering and having a good time. He wants to come to my place the next game just so he can go here to watch the game. His favourite new place to have a beer and watch sports.

We went there on Friday night to have a good time, but unfortunately, the service ruined our experience. When it came time to pay, we were simply discussing whether to split the bill or keep it as one. One of the servers very rudely told us, “we cannot wait for 5 minutes.” This was unprofessional and unnecessary. We left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Definitely not the kind of service you expect when dining out. And note: we spent $500.

Google
Good late night spot, nice portions. Fries were ok, burger was good and very filling- couldn’t even eat more than a handful of fries.

Google
Service was great with very attentive staff. Food was fresh with appropriate temperatures. Calamari was too thinly sliced so dried out too much with cooking. The sauce served with the calamari was a curry sauce with no alternative options offered to us. We didn’t like that. Wings were perfectly crispy outside and moist inside. The honey garlic sauce had too much garlic. Steak was perfect and the mushroom sauce delicious. Chicken alfredo was tasty with good flavours. Pasta was quite al dente Good cocktails Restaurant interior is not visually appealing and could use some work and cleanup.

I absolutely love this place. I had the Indian poutine and brownie and they were fantastic. This is my fourth time coming and I don’t intend to stop. The staff here is also great. The chefs are obviously very skilled and my server was very friendly and efficient.

Google
Solid local pub. Love coming here to watch a game. There are lots of TVs and you can view from the patio - they lift the garage doors in warmer weather and the atmosphere is live. Great snacks - the fries with curry sauce and deep fried pickles are faves. Happy hour specials also can't be beat!

Yelp
Not sure why the reviews are so harsh, but many of those seem to be for delivery which doesn't seem very fair for a bar. This has become our go-to spot to watch the Bills season opener. Several large TVs and they always put football on for us. They let us watch the game and check in on us enough to feel attended to without making us feel badly for spending 4 hours here. We had the Sri Lankan curry and the Thai curry poutine. Both were great; spicy. I'm no expert on Sri Lankan food but I've eaten more than your average white person. It didn't taste like any I'd had before but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Waitstaff/bartenders are great. This seems to be a real neighborhood place. All sorts of folks popped in for a drink or two. The staff would friendly with everyone and it was all very charming.

Yelp
Great pub food. We come in out of town once a year and always come here. The chef does a great job with menu selection. Just love the rib tips and coconut shrimp for appetizers. Today we had the fish and chips my (aways good) And perogies good portions for the price.

Yelp
They had a good set up for sports watching on patio and waitresses were nice. But An English pub should certainly know how to do a proper fish in chips. It was thick thick batter and burnt, they should have been embarrassed to serve it. The wraps were grilled on what u can tell was a dirty grill, black marks.

Yelp
Excellent food and beer selection! We had the Cobb salad & spicy Thai poutine and a couple pints outside. We'll have to come back because there were so many menu items that looked good!

Yelp
Literally inedible. Had ordered from here before and it was decent but this time around there were FEATHERS on over half of our chicken wings ! Wtf ! We ordered the chicken club as well, which appeared burnt from the bacon to the bread. Couldn't bring myself to take a bite, because, you know, feathers. Long story short, the sight was so unappetizing the entire order went in the trash.

Yelp
Ordered French onion soup 0 cheese and barely any bread. the broth Was amazing but horrible for a French onion soup update thought we would give it another try barely sat down and the servers beyond rude! wont ever try again

Yelp
The food is sub-par and the service is spotty at best. Portions are nothing to crow about either. I have been here a couple of times and always leave disappointed, however it is the one of a handful of restaurants in the area, so I don't imagine they will be leaving anytime soon. The one start comes mostly from my last experience with them. I had ordered a diet coke and when it arrived, I had my suspicions that she had not actually brought me diet. I politely asked her if she was sure and she assured me that she was. Now normally, this wouldn't be the end of the world, but I am a diabetic, so 10 minutes later, my sugars are starting to climb (now this could be attributed to other factors, but I cannot confirm either way). I again, tell the waitress that I do not think my drink is diet, and ask her if she could please get me another glass of diet coke, just so I can be 100% sure that it is in fact diet. She once again assures me that she is positive it is diet, and does not change them out. Fast forward to 20 minutes later when my sugars are in the 20s and I am feeling groggy and sick...SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE! It would be one thing if it was an honest mistake, because no one is perfect, but this was unacceptable.

Yelp
11$ calamari app; 11$ lb of wings; Several types of poutine for around 8$. Ceasar brunch special: 4$! Pretty typical respectably cheap bar. When it first opened I was excited. Thought it would provide an alternative to the remarkably sleazy Dukes across the street. It did... Somewhat. Everything about this place is slightly less downtrodden than Dukes. But only slightly. And they don't have the AMAZING patio that Dukes has. The staff here is cuter (why they didn't hire me, I'll never know). And one feels less like a coke addict here (you can feel in your bones how much coke has gone up noses in the washrooms across the street). There have also been less people shot here.

Yelp
Me and my friend went out after a stroll for a couple drinks and had a pretty good time. I love the atmosphere and the musical selection was much more to my liking with classic rock and such. I hope they update their drink menus because scratching the beer on a sheet of paper with a pen doesn't look very good and there were no prices on the drink menu either.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst food I have ever ordered I spent almost $100 for 2 orders of soggy cold nachos all the sides missing including the chicken I could write more but suffice it to say the order was disgusting Even my dog wouldn't eat it! Stay away!

Yelp
This pub has become our local as it's literally around the corner from us so it makes stopping in for a quick bite a little too easy. I'm a big fan of the chicken wings, specifically the Thai sweet chili and jerk sauces, the standard "hot" doesn't really standout for me. I'm also a poutine fan and their Indian version with a butter chicken sauce is indulgent and worth it! If you're in on a game night (hockey or football) it'll likely be playing on a big screen. They realize groups tend to watch sports together and have catered to this with several large tables. However you want to arrive early as tables fill up quickly. I also want to callout the staff which have always been super friendly. And that was before we became regulars. They are prompt and do their best to avoid blocking the TVs while they work. All in all, totally worth stopping by. And if you're into supporting local they've got Left Field on tap!

Yelp
Good spot for beer, pub food and sports. I've stuck to the basics on the menu (wings, burger, fries/poutine) and they are decent. Good drink specials everyday and ample TV's plus a big projector screen. Service is also nice. A place I can easily find myself in catching a Raptors game on a weekday. I've never been on a weekend, but imagine it can get a bit rowdy with dukes across the street.

Jane D.

Yelp
We ordered 1lb wings and the shepherds pie to be delivered. Apparently they can't tell the wings from the legs since it was a mixture of the two. The shepherds pie was the most abysmal version that anyone could make. It's a blob of ground beef with a teaspoon of carrots/peas and covered upto 2 inches thick with mashed potatoes. First pie in history to not have been baked. This dish had definitely not seen the inside of an oven. Please start along this ground beef and mashed potatoes and do not insult the shepherd pie genre with this abomination. Poor service to top it all off. Thanks for a great Friday evening.

Yelp
I want to show this place a bit more love than I see on other reviews, because I haven't had a problem during any of my half a dozen (or so - maybe more at this point?) visits. We usually go on Wednesday nights. The place usually isn't crowded, and they are always able to accommodate no matter how large the group. The food is pretty standard pub fare, but the serving sizes are massive. I have never once left feeling like my hunger hasn't been vanquished. The club sandwich is really sizeable, and the fries are awesome. I've enjoyed their all-day breakfast, and their thai green curry is a really awesome and hearty option if you're looking for something gluten-free. The service has always been on point, and we've never had an issue with being ignored or not getting our food in a timely manner. It's also a great place to watch a game, as there are TVs everywhere, not to mention a large screen and projector for bigger events. All in all, it's not fancy, but it is consistent, delicious, and you will get your money's worth.

Yelp
Queen's head has decent quality food and the portions are very generous. My favourite dish is the guacamole avocado burger: it's a homemade patty and the ingredients are fresh. I order it almost every time I go in. The other winner is the signature Indian poutine, and they have huge 1/2 price wings on Tuesdays (which are breaded and get soggy with sauce, so I suggest getting the sauce on the side or the Cajun spice). The place gets really busy when Toronto teams are in the playoffs, so get there early enough before the games starts to get a table. The waitstaff have been consistently friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I have been waiting for this place to open since they put up their signage a couple months ago as the Eastender closed. Unfortunately this place has missed the mark for Leslieville. With pub food like McGugan's nearby I was hoping they would have raise their level higher than a chain pub. All the food seems to be frozen from my account. So, you do get what you pay for. I knew as soon as I saw the prices what type of quality to expect. They did not seem to have anything to set them apart. The wait staff was just ok, it took a while each time I was there to get a beer refill. I went once for beers with a friend from out of town and back for dinner with my wife. Neither of the people I went with were at all impressed. I did leave two stars as the only redeeming quality in my opinion was the space. It was nice with the open garage doors on a summer-like September evening.

Yelp
Not a review of the food. Place was not what we expected. Menu seemed very expected. Food sightings on neighbouring tables were not pleasant. We waited 5 minutes without being served before we decided to politely change our minds and fled. Won't be giving them a second chance.

Yelp
Stopped in around 10:30. Good place to go for a cheap beer. Not as busy and crowded as some of the bars closer to downtown, which is nice when you come with some friends and want to be able to chat. Typical pub food. Got the nachos - nothing to write home about. The staff here was friendly.

Yelp
Disappointing is all I can say! I ordered fish and chips for 2, two hours in advance. When they hadn't arrived 15 minutes after the stated window, I called and was told the delivery was on its way. It must have been on its way for quite awhile because we got it 25 minutes late. Given that we live a 5-minute drive away, there's no excuse. The fish was lukewarm and the fries were rubbery and a degree less than cold. I gave this 2 stars instead of one because the serving was generous, and I'm giving Queen's Head the benefit of doubt that the meal might have been good had it been hot! Won't be back soon!

Dhiren P.

Yelp
I was a regular there. I've always gone back because their food is good. I had a very bad night there. I saw the servers drinking and they behaved very badly with me and my friends! Will never go back and would advice everyone not to go here and spoil their night

BBoy F.

Yelp
OK. I was not sure about this place but decided not to judge it by the cover. Is Queen's Head a pub, a sports bar (given the # of tv's) or an aspiring Leslieville hipster bar? All of the above it appears. Music was loud and annoying. Appetizer (from the sports bar part of the central kitchen brain) was terrible. Pass this place up and go next door to Hitch.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with friends on a Wednesday night. Service and food was good. I had the burger and it was cooked nicely. Beer on tap included Left Field, Junction and Beaus. Will definitely go back.

Richard H.

Yelp
Good quality food with great atmosphere especially on game nights! I recommend the steak and calamari. Overall a place with elements of a great restaurant!

Gurpreet B.

Yelp
This is a great British Pub. They've got a cool menu with curries. Had the tandoori wrap and it was great! Plus in the summer the pub is "open air" which is great.

Yelp
Horrible pub!!! They don't put on the volume for sports games and always show stupid stuff like women's soccer that nobody watches. No offense to women's soccer I support it but when everyone's watching something else you should give people what they want .. . don't show what you like all over the place. HORRIBLE!!!

Steven C.

Yelp
Bad service and really unprofessional staff. Food quality is average at best, and a little expensive. And never cooked properly, couldn't eat our falling apart quesadilla. Was hoping for a good new local but it's just not happening.

Joey C.

Yelp
I went with a buddy of mine and I ordered some fish and chips and my friend ordered the butter chicken. The haddock was so good and fried incredibly and the chips were soft but crispy. My buddy said the butter chicken was also good and that it was hot and tender and tasted great
google avatar

Harv E B.

Yelp
Bad . Sorry. Sunday "brunch" was just unacceptable. Cold eggs, no choices outside of the routine pub fare, zero drink specials for a Sunday AM and a maudlin music selection in the background that made me wish I stayed in bed. The place inside is ok, and I saw lots of it because it was empty. I'd go back maybe for finishing off a few pints but to eat, never again.

Brahmos F.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I'd give this place a 3.5 THE GOOD: Clean, friendly, and great selection of beers. The food is decent pub grub: wings, nachos and butter chicken were all tasty and well priced. If you're looking for artisnal food there are many other places to go in Leslieville, but if you're looking for a decent sports bar I recommend. THE BAD: The TVs behind the bar are not strategically laid out. Some portions seem small (skimpy toppings on the nachos) and every time I finished my beer I had to ask for another (rather than the waitress/bar staff staying atop of it, which to some might not be a bad thing).
google avatar

Catherine F.

Yelp
Oh Queens Head, I really wanted to like you...but I'm afraid I can't. Beer selection is odd, and food is very typical and kinda boring. With so many better pubs in the Beaches, this one could be easily forgotten.

Alex S.

Yelp
Cozy, very casual and food was good. I had wings and indian poutine. Calamari was great. I like it

B M.

Yelp
Have ordered from this restaurant before and have enjoyed the food. My last order they changed the turkey in my cobb salad for bacon and no one in my household eats pork. Nobody called us before making the switch. By the time we sat down to eat it was late and just tossed them out and ate Kraft Dinner instead. Perhaps a call would have been nice and we would have picked something else. Two salads cost them really good customers.

Matthew W.

Yelp
This place stinks . The restaurant is part of Order It .ca , but does!'t seem inclined to follow the rules . I ordered food at 6.40 p.m. Which was supposed to be delivered by7.40 p.m. When I phoned at 8.10 p.m the bartender who answered the phone was very rude and indifferent . He purported to look into the order and told me that it had been sent out 20 minutes earlier . When the food hadn't arrived by 8.40 p.m. ( two hours after it was ordered )I called back . I was eventually told that they never received the order . No explanation or apology was offered for the dishonest answer previously provided . So if you want to trust an unethical , and poorly run business , then I recommend this place .
