I think that if King's, being so inclined, was to add some bounce, some flair, maybe some stylish angles to their menu, we might really have a winner here.
Suggestions, though, from customers who've never owned and run a restaurant (like me) may not carry a lot of weight. It's easy, sometimes, to simply be the idea guy, one who then doesn't offer to do any of the leg work. For that, I apologize. However, I like King's fine. I mean, it sits right there upon busy Chapman Blvd., drawing business not only from the neighboring carwash, but from the Regal Cinemas shopping center traffic as well, I'm sure. And you can't miss the place, triangular and tall.
Because King's, respectfully, you're like a diminutive Denny's, yet one with a bit more welcome and personality. Since the restaurant is smaller with fewer tables and booths, it's cozier, and that's not a bad thing. You'd expect then that the service would be somewhat more personable than at a larger chain--and it is!--but I don't feel that King's is exercising any creativity. And it should. Otherwise, despite the nice service and pleasant smiles, you're lost in the shuffle.
