Got the wagyu meat pies. Meat filling was soft and mixed with cheese. Nice mellow flavor. The puff pastry was more soggy than flaky, which was a small downer considering the price. I suggest coming for the happy hour menu. Could've gotten the veggie pie with a drink and it still would've cost less than the meat pie. The thick fries were great and the sauce was a variant of BBQ that's more watery and tangy.

Four of us stopped in for lunch after the big rally and got a seat after a few minutes out on the patio. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and counter seating too. Everyone that worked there was friendly and took care of us. The food was fresh and tasty. Our server was great and she kept checking on us all the time. The prices were reasonable and we had a good time. I recommend this restaurant.

Google
Legit. The food was oh so good. And they had a Monday “No Tariff” special which was nice. The beet salad was great. The lamb skewers were tasty and the sausage rolls were so yummy. The dipping sauce for the rolls was really good. Our waiter, Rayan was accommodating and fun. Thank you for an all around great experience.

Google
What a neat atmosphere! We absolutely loved this place from a block away, just too cute and kitschy. We came for a date night and started by sharing the calamari that was delicious, special remarks on the accompaniment that really highlighted everything. I ordered the lamb skewers which were cooked perfectly but the best thing about that dish was the hummus chimichurri!

Google
Fun, unexpected restaurant in an old house between downtown and Little Italy. Service was great. Food was pretty good, portions were a bit small. The multiple small spaces feel cozy and fun. The outdoor dining space was great, except for the homeless people digging in the trash and stopping traffic right in front.

Google
Food is amazing, atmosphere very nice. Good service. We had happy hour dishes between fish and chips, lamb burger, beats salad, and New Zealand pie All very delicious highly recommended

Google
This restaurant was a lucky find. Super cute indoor and outdoor. Fun vibe. Full bar with craft cocktails. We ordered the Ahi tuna sandwich, the Meso chicken sandwich and the special steak and cheese sandwich. Everything was very good. Prices were on point for the size and quality of the dishes. Great people watching from the outdoor corner table. Staff was great.

Google
Hands down one of the best restaurants we’ve ever frequented, definitely well above 5 stars all around! These pictures depict us on our way to enjoy dinner with our favorite couple and show my husband Joseph in one of his playful, silly moods! To best describe the restaurant, I would have to say it was picturesque and inviting, with service that was absolutely phenomenal! Our server patiently explained the beverage menu as well as the food menu. We were pleased with each choice we made, based upon his suggestions. The deliciously crafted cocktails, delicious food, and enjoyable music make this restaurant a must when visiting San Diego!

Yelp
Great brunch with friends! Fun place with great drinks and interesting takes on dishes. Everything was done well from service to food and cocktails

Yelp
Good food. Fun atmosphere. Nice servers. Would go back! Usually with these "instagramable" restaurants that go heavy on the decor, the food isn't the best. But Queenstown stands out! Pot pie and seafood stew are great!

Yelp
Overall this is a really nice spot for brunch. The restaurant itself is very cute and whimsical - very on brand for the area. Service was a little slow but I'm giving them grace because it was Father's Day. So I figure they may have been busier than usual. I wasn't super excited about my meal. I got the lamb hash and just felt like it lacked flavor. It wasn't until after I got home and looked at the picture that I realized the seasoning on the board was meant for the food. All of the plates around me looked and smelled amazing though! I would go back and try something else.

Yelp
This review is specifically with regards to the happy hour. I will preface that all the food and drinks we had were good, but I couldn't overlook the fact that the portion reduction for the happy hour was ridiculous. To pay $10 to get a what was effectively a side of chili and another $10 to get a 1/3 of what a normal fish and chips portion is left a bad taste in my mouth. If you go for happy hour I recommend sticking to the drinks and ordering your food off the normal menu unless you only want a snack.

Yelp
What an amazing place to eat brunch! One of my San Diego favorites. I believe they only do the breakfast / brunch on the weekends, but please consider them for lunch cocktails or dinner. The service is ALWAYS fantastic! And the food is amazing! This visit I had to have my favorite again, "The Cure" which is a house biscuit & sausage gravy, tater tots w/scrambled eggs. I added the spicy fried chicken which was also smothered in that amazing gravy. You'd be hard pressed to find better gravy...!

Yelp
We arrived late at 2:00 after spending time at the Fleet Space Theatre in balboa Park so it wasn't crowded and we were able to sit in the little cozy front room looking out to the porch. We were waited on promptly and ordered the mushroom truffle burger of the month which is free with my entree....my favored lamb skewers with cucumbers and lots and hummus!! I am a lamb girl and so New Zealand pubs are my ticket!! My husband thought this was their best monthly creation yet so we urged the waitress to tell the manager to put it in the permanent menu. I sure hope we see it again. He swapped the thin fries for $2.00 for the fatty steak fries. Good choice! We will NOT need dinner tonight. Not bad for $32 plus a generous tip. Deliciousness plus ambiance off the charts always plus historic house plus great service AND I almost forgot to mention the best playlist every single time!!! No brainer. Come here or one of any of their locations. Our hood is the OB Raglan but we love this one when we are downtown.

Yelp
Delicious food, beautiful decor and great service! I've been here a few times now and will certainly be back. This time we brought the dog and sat outside for lunch. They have a nice patio area with some heat lamps and fire pits, although we did not need them today. Our server Edgar was great, he had tables both inside and outside and came to check on us often. I had the prawn and grits, which was incredible - the seasoning was perfect and the poached egg was an excellent touch. The rest of my group got the meat pies and french toast which they both enjoyed. The crust on the meat pie was flakey and delicious. The beer flight from their all-day happy hour menu was also a great deal!

Yelp
We were visiting a friend from out of town and he made a reso for Queenstown Public House. We sat inside during a heatwave with no a/c. There was a smell in the room area we sat in, it wasn't pleasant. Service was fine and food was good, we each got a lunch entree and shared the waffles. The waffles were mid but my burrito was delicious. They had a mimosa special, $7 for a regular mimosa. Probably would recommend to sit outside.

Yelp
Enjoyed a late Sunday brunch. We were a party of 8 and had plenty of space seated outside. Ambiance is cute, almost like having an outdoor tea party. Large food portions and tasty. Tots stayed crispy. I had the breakfast poutine and it was the perfect serving. Someone had the Cure with the spicy chicken and it was a good crispy. French toast serving was large enough to share. Our server was very attentive and friendly. They serve brunch menu until 2 pm. Overall we had a great first time experience. Parking is tough around there since they're close to little Italy's farmers market.

Yelp
Just a straight forward and delightful restaurant with some New American flair. Food is good, cocktails even better, and service was so fun and friendly. You HAVE to come here during happy hour as well. You can get full off the slider and fries for just 9 bucks! During Christmas, it's so well decorated and becomes a wonderful gingerbread house too! Food: 7/10 Service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Value: 9/10

Yelp
We had brunch here recently and it was wonderful. The service was terrific, very attentive and helpful, so sweet. Even brought us some fun pride temp tattoos when we complimented hers. The food was delicious, we enjoyed every dish we ordered. It's a cute little spot, I would come back again, it was fun and very casual.

Yelp
As soon as you walk up you are blown away by the beautiful architecture and craftsmanship of what once was a home m, now turned restaurant. As we waiting in what seemed like a long line, but actually it moved pretty quickly, I noticed the different food items being brought out. Just on ambiance alone the place is a winner! Loved everything that we ordered. So glad we found this place. Have recommended it to friends when I know they are going to San Diego. I am not a fan of gravy and biscuits, but I could have ordered a side of the gravy and dipped more biscuits if you catch my drift. The tater tots were the perfect amount of crisp on the outside and had a little kick of spice. French toast, amazing! Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
We came with our dog and were seated outside. We were there on a Wednesday which was their all day happy hour. We ordered a few of the cocktails and happy hour menu items like the slider, the veggie pie, and their chili. Nice place to relax outside with good food and drinks.

Yelp
The food, drinks and ambiance at the Queenstown Public House are all so good. The place is nice and airy with tons of plants and flowers that create a really amazing atmosphere. The ambiance plus the really nice weather made it perfect for an aperol spritz. Even though it's not one of their specialty cocktails, it was really good. For food I ordered the meat pies. They were warm, flavorful and crispy. One of those foods you can't stop eating even though you're full. The service was a little slow, which wasn't a big deal for me, but I know is a big deal for others, especially if you only want a quick bite. Queenstown is also quite expensive with the meal about $25 and the drinks about $17. This is definitely more of a spot for a nice date than an average Sunday brunch.

Yelp
I've been passing by this place every time we are in San Diego. Finally, I convinced my husband to try it. Got seated and was never acknowledged. Not a "hello" "we will be with you". Nada! Sad bc I was really looking forward to it. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
Inconsistent dining results here depending on the time of day. When it's packed, towards the end of the day, or you're with a large group - definitely plan for a wait. Most recently I came for drinks and some fries before a concert at Music Box and ended up waiting 45 minutes for my fries to come out. Despite the wait, servers were nice when we interacted. Portions here are hefty. My best experiences have been around Happy Hour for a variety of sliders. Love the sauces you get for french fries. Drink options are a plenty but definitely on the pricey side. Parking in this area of town can be tough, so plan accordingly!

Yelp
It was my first time here and wow! I loved it We came for happy hour cause we heard good things about it and it did not disappoint! There was a good amount of people here on a Weds evening but there's plenty of seating. The service was fast and friendly. We order: A beer flight Chips and dip Fish and chips Kiwi burger Everything was so good and so cheap for happy hour! I feel like there's not alot of places that does happy hour for food anymore so to find a place like this, I am obsessed! Super excited to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
We went for brunch on Mother's Day, with no reservations we were sat immediately which was great. They don't offer coffee which was a bit strange when offering a brunch option so we wondered over to a coffee shop across the street while we waited for our food. The service staff was friendly and attentive given the influx of customers coming in. I would like to try their lunch/dinner menu so we will definitely be back. My daughter and I both had chicken and waffles which was delicious and my friend had the sausage croissant breakfast sandwich which was okay. I had the God is a Woman drink and it was a perfect, refreshing and light drink to have with breakfast. I also love how they decorate for the different seasons, their flower arrangements were gorgeous!

Yelp
We originally planned to go to Morning Glory (about a 5-minute walk away), but the wait was over 2 hours. We decided to try Queentown instead, and they seated us right away -- major win! The main highlight here is definitely the floral teahouse vibe. Super cute and Instagram-worthy. It was surprisingly not too busy for Memorial Day around 11am. I ordered The Cure -- it was just okay. The biscuit was a bit dry and the gravy didn't really stand out, but nothing was bad either. Just not super memorable. Service was great though! Our server checked in on us and even offered to take group photos, which we really appreciated. Overall, a nice place to hang out and enjoy the ambiance!

Yelp
Came here to meet our friends from out of town. Made reservations couple days ahead for lunch Place was packed! Great menu, beautiful day, friendly staff (shoutout to ariel) - Would return! Had the lamb hash! My wife had the vegan wrap. So good!
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
My friends from San Diego recommended this place for multiple reasons - dog friendly, healthy portions, and solid drinks. I had just run a half marathon on this particular morning and was starving. I had the croissant sandwich and it was perfect. Flaky croissant, good sausage, and the tots were crispy. The rest of the table mentioned the French toast was the star of the show. On your next trip to the area - definitely stop here with your pup or friends.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Cute little place. We opted for outside seating for a drink and to catch up. The waiter was good about leaving alone to catch up but popped out to check on us from time to time. We both got the loaded bloody mary and they were just perfect! Definitely one of the better ones that we have had.

Yelp
I want to start this review by saying I dislike giving bad reviews. I met my girlfriend at for brunch, it was her first time. I love the food at Queens town and duinden the sister restaurant. Our waiter Dan came up to our table, he look so annoyed and grumpy. My friend asked for a coffee, after 8 min he brought her coffee and walked away. The coffee had a bunch of coffee grounds in the coffee, very noticeable. Dan passed by and she asked him if she can have another coffee without coffee grounds. Dan took the coffee with out a word. He came back with coffee and creamer. My friend asked him for a spoon, he say Ya and rolled his eyes. Holy Cow this guy was so rude. I told my girlfriend that I wasn't going to start my Sunday with this kind of experience. We asked the manager and told him we were leaving. We told what happened and he offered to move us but we just got up and left. Honestly If you are having a bad day, don't project it onto others.
google avatar

Breanne B.

Yelp
This place is adorable and has a really cute atmosphere!!! It's on the corner and decorated very cute! The drinks are great and the food was amazing!!! It was pretty busy here around 1pm so I'd make reservations and give yourself plenty of time to find a parking spot nearby which range from $15-$30.
google avatar

Katrina F.

Yelp
I had very low expectations for this place because there are a lot of restaurants downtown with high ratings that are just mediocre, but I was pleasantly surprised! I got the Cluck and Squeal with grilled chicken and fatty fries. The sandwich was delicious and so flavorful, and the fries were perfectly crisp and tasty. Service was also pretty quick and very friendly. I did take a star away because we had an issue with lots of flies. We were sat in a corner outside and for some reason flies were constantly flying to our table, even before we had food. It would've been nice to have one of those fly fans to ward them off
google avatar

Hailey J.

Yelp
came by for some quick drinks and bites and fell in love with the cozy house aesthetic! the bright yellow paint with lots of greenery was so welcoming the drinks were definitely one of a kind. i especially loved the porch pleaser because of the strong earl grey essence! food was not as memorable but still enjoyable one complaint i do have is that the restaurant was basically empty yet we were seated so closely next to another group. not too big of an issue but was a bit questionable ~Food & drinks~ porch pleaser: 10/10 margarita: 10/10 slider with skinny fries: 8/10 beet salad: 9/10 new zealand meat pies: 8/10 ~Service: very friendly, love how attentive our server was ~Cost: $$ pretty affordable especially if you come for happy hour
google avatar

Jules D.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! For some reason I have been hesitant to try this place seemingly thinking it was just a drinking establishment and could it really have good food? Well I was dead wrong and I'm here to tell you those wagyu meat pies are top notch. Lamb skewers were perfection as well. The wait staff was on it every step of the way and made our Friday afternoon pre happy hour outing (1-2:30 pm) a memorable one. Highly recommend. One of the tastiest meals I've had in the Little Italy area.
google avatar

Ellie N.

Yelp
I love coming here I usually come for dinner but the brunch was pretty good, would come Back! Ordered the babe Benedict. This place has a lot of outdoor seating and dog friendly. The food is consistent and the servers and bartenders are awesome here. Service is good as always. Just found out they have another location :)
google avatar

Jennifer E.

Yelp
First time visiting for happy hour. The happy hour menu had a nice mix of things. The Porch Pleaser was fantastic. Went for the Hogs and Heffers slider and I want to go back for the full size. Service was fast and everyone taking care of us was so nice and funny. The decor inside is so mesmerizing I didn't know where to look.
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
I came here for a business dinner, and we all had a great time. They were able to accommodate our large group of 16 without any problem. We sat outside, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was excellent and gave really good recommendations. I really enjoy the lamb. They also have some very tasty appetizers. It's a short walk from any of the downtown hotels and worth a visit. It's always nice to try something different than the usual food options.

Yelp
Queenstown was one of the best stops on our San Diego trip, and honestly, a lot of that had to do with our server, Mary. She had this really kind, upbeat energy that just made us feel taken care of right away. It was my partner's birthday weekend (which she didn't even know until after we paid), and still went out of her way to bring us a little something that made him feel appreciated. It was such a thoughtful touch and really made the moment. Food-wise, everything HIT. The fish and chips were crispy without being oily, the burger was solid (you really can't go wrong with any of them), and the onion dip with chips was surprisingly balanced and addicting. The outdoor space quaint and relaxed, kind of like hanging out at your fun aunt's house who's got a funky taste and knows how to host. Just an all-around great vibe. Big thanks to Mary and the Queenstown team for making it feel special. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Mia S.

Yelp
I've had Queenstown a couple of times, but this was my first time at this location. This place is sooo cute, great for a date night or just a drink at the bar. Igot the Fried Chicken dinner and it was pretty heavy but very tasty. It came with a citrus honey drizzle and kale slaw that I was obsessed with. It also came with a jalapeño cornbread and I LOVE cornbread but I was not a fan of this one. The meat pies are a delicious classic as well. Their cocktails are top tier!! Creative and yummy.
google avatar

Celeste P.

Yelp
The beet salad was delectable, juicy chunks of beets and then with a side of salmon is perfection. The decor is so cute, even the ceilings are decorated! Waitress was helpful as it was our first time here so appreciated that!
google avatar

Sami L.

Yelp
Perfect quiet place for an urban brunch after a workout. This area never disappoints, and all of us enjoyed our food. The coffee was great, service was awesome, and the quiche had a great healthy taste! YUM!
google avatar

Jenna L.

Yelp
I am in LOVE with this restaurant!!! The portabello fries are too die for, it was definitely the highlight of our meal. We also tried the lamb skewers and they were cooked perfectly. It also comes with hummus that is flavored so well. The decor of the restaurant is cute and dainty, I would recommend this place again and again! On top of it all, our server was Sophia was INCREDIBLE. She was such a doll, she was attentive and even offered to take a few photos of us. What a great experience, 10/10.
google avatar

Jennifer G.H. W.

Yelp
We stopped in here to have brunch with a group of 4. I loved the ambiance, the decor, and music. It was very festive. Lots of things to look at. I had the steak Benedict with crossaint. It was delicious but messy. The eggs soaked into the crossaint too much that the crossaint was soggy. As for the chicken and waffles, the chicken was a little spicy. I don't know if it was the batter or the oil that made it salty. Overall, it was just ok.
google avatar

Brandon C.

Yelp
Totally delicious. Still. I have been coming here alone and with friends for years. I may only make it here once every few months or once a year, not too often, because there is truly so many great places to eat in San Diego. But i always return for the parlor pot pie. Nothing much like it anywhere else. They presentation as well as the atmosphere has always made the meal feel like a special one. This has also been my main place to bring family from out of town, because I come from firefighting grandparents and the firehouse musuem is right across the street!
google avatar

Manie P.

Yelp
Great place to grab brunch with a group of friends. The cocktails were very tasty and the food was delicious. I highly recommend lamb hash for more hearty and the chicken and waffles because I love spicy!
google avatar

Wendy S.

Yelp
Nothing but 5 ... our monthly "New Places, Old friends" dinner was amazing!! The Pot Pie is our favorite and we've been back numerous times with other friends, co workers and family. Service was a 10! Can not tell you enough, everyone must try this place!! So Good!!
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
I came here with my coworkers twice and this spot is so good! The service is great, the server and person who seated us both were so friendly and genuinely positive. I ordered the meat pie and it's fantastic. The dish came out hot and the flakey pie part was delicious, as well as the filling inside. I hear the burgers were also fantastic by my other coworkers. The ambiance is so awesome. They decorate the outside when it's Christmas season and inside is so adorable. They really imitate the vibes of feeling like you are in New Zealand, cutesy cottage like and suitable to the food. Confident 5/5 stars!
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
This is a charming looking restaurant. But looks can be deceiving. We were a large group and had almost a private room. That was great for our group to catchup. The waiter did not handle the large group well. He had a problem taking the drink order. Instead of standing near each guest, he stood at the end of the table to take the order. I asked him 3 times to bring honey for my tea and I never received. I ordered the Breakfast Fried Rice. It was an extremely large portion. But it was very bland and didn't taste anything like fried rice. It was extremely disappointing.
google avatar

Maria O.

Yelp
Been here several times and the food never disappoints. Such a cute and small space in downtown San Diego area. Found it by accident just walking around since it looks like a house and the menu looked good. Service has always been great. I think it helps that it's a small location but also can get very busy. Being a local I can pick off times to go so never had to wait for a table. Huge portions of food so be prepared!
google avatar

Yelp
Did you know Queenstown does happy hour all day on Wednesdays? We didn't so you could imagine our surprise and delight when we found out we could still order from the happy hour menu. And if you know ahead of time that you'll be visiting, be sure to sign up for their program which will send you monthly BOGO deals for their Burger of the Month! Calamari: The happy hour portion is pretty small and we thought it was more because we didn't notice the bed of arugula on the bottom of the bowl. But overall, very crispy and flavorful. It comes with sweet and sour sauce to dip and I ended up pouring some on the arugula and finished it like a salad. New Zealand Chips and Dip: Housemade chips with a delicious onion dip. We ended up wiping the bowl clean! Burger of the Month: As the name suggests, the burger changes every month. For the month of May, it was a Mushroom Truffle Burger. It comes with a side of skinny fries and you can pay extra to substitute for fatty or sweet fries, just not the portobello fries. The burger itself was really juicy and I really liked the arugula and Swiss cheese. I wonder if they recycle monthly burgers often, but I think this is a great way to bring people back and try the new limited burgers. Overall, great meal and I'll be keeping an eye on the burger of the month. We made a reservation and it looked pretty full during dinner time so I would recommend doing the same. It looked like there's more outdoor than indoor seating so dress appropriately!

Yelp
Delicious breakfast brunch very tasty and well cooked, not too busy on a Saturday morning. Went to farmers market after. It's a very fun environment with Christmas candy theme decor. Definitely will come back, my hubby loved the New Zealand lamb hash.

Yelp
Oh my gosh what a find. Honestly, i was having the hardest luck finding a dinner spot. Everything is so swanky and nice and no one online admits to having a kid menu. I finally found one review on here where someone mentioned bringing their little kid so I thought let's just take a gamble. It paid off! Wonderful, delicious, creative food. And a kid menu with 4 simple options for my 5 year old to choose from. Thank you Queenstown! Parents want nice food too! Lol Great ambiance. Outdoor porch seating on what looks like an old house. Little twinkle lights sitting amongst elaborate floral displays. Flowers bursting everywhere, so pretty. Some cute giant animatronic flowers even opened and closed for a fun touch. Hostess and wait staff were super friendly and welcoming. Could not have been nicer to these out-of -towners. Food was perfection. My dad got the lamb skewers, which he declared the best lamb he's had in a long time. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple. Yum yum yum. Only complaint is the music was just a touch too loud. Like you didn't have to shout to talk to your table but it was close. Overall, excellent experience and highly recommend.

Yelp
My go to spot for brunch when I'm craving their breakfast fried rice! And for dinner I usually get their quinoa salad with shrimp. Service is great, foods outstanding, vibe is perfect.
google avatar

Leniel S.

Yelp
The Christmas decor was super cute! It was busy, but the hostess got us a good seat inside next to the bar. All of the drinks pictured were tasty except for the Bellini, but the waiter was kind enough to get us a replacement drink. The fatty fries are definitely recommended! They were well seasoned. The meat pies came suggested by the waiter and they did not disappoint!

Yelp
Thanksgiving in a sandwich! Have you ever wondered what thanksgiving on a sandwich looks like no? No, me neither. I didn't know I was missing out on something I've never had, but this seasonal holiday sandwich is so delicious. I had already made up my mind about a salad but the second I saw the promotional flyer with the description of ingredients, I knew I had to have it. I've never heard or seen anything like this. The one-of-a-kind sandwich has grilled turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, jalapeño, and melted cheese (I feel like I'm missing something) with a side of friends and gravy (not a fan so I opted out of this one). With the food and holiday decor, this dining experience felt like a full immersion into holiday season! At some point I'm hoping to come back and have their year-round items!

i will be thinking about this place for a long time!! i had brunch here with my girlfriends when we made a trip down to san diego, and everything here was amazing. we stumbled upon the place as we were walking to the little italy farmers market, and were drawn to it because of the gorgeous exterior. we stood in a line to get in for around 15 minutes, and were seated inside. the indoor ambiance is just as beautiful as the outside. service was timely, and i ordered the cure, which i would rate a 10/10 because it was simply divine. i also had a bite of the pork fried rice my friend ordered and that was scrumptious as well. our waiter was lovely, and the portion sizes were great for each person (i ended up taking my biscuit and half my sausage home). overall, this place takes the cake for food i have had in san francisco, and i would absolutely love to come back!
