Iconic Dishes That Define Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Matt’s El Rancho makes the most exemplary combination of queso, ground beef, and guacamole in town. Colloquially known as the “Bob” or the “Dip,” or even the “Bob Dip,” this is Tex-Mex in a bowl. It should be on the bucket list of anyone stepping foot in Austin. There are other great quesos, but this is the one that inspires copycat recipes across the internet." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

Quick, convenient and fast service and open late if you are on Rainey St. However, the pizza quality tasted similar to microwaveable/frozen pizza. Moreover the pinned location is not accurate so you may have difficulty locating this food truck.

I ordered the pepperoni pizza and found it to be very tasty. The crust reminds me of a better version of the common thin crusts found elsewhere. Service was great and fastest of all other Rainey St food options I’ve tested. I visited during off peak hours and found the location to be quite cozy. Pricing is fair. Pizza sauce was delicious.

Rainey street with multiple food truck. We tried pizza quesadilla interesting concept it’s light and airy I wished we would have gotten pepperoni instead. The picture looked much better but this was the chicken with black bean (none was available) green onion (also not on there not sure why and chipotle sauce. It was basically chicken and cheese. That’s why we wished we would went with pepperoni instead. Still it was good will try a diff one and it did cost $15 a bit pricey.

Large and delicious tacos, trio of dips were great and a cool atmosphere sitting outside and people watching.

We visited this new food truck on its opening weekend. It’s now a regular spot for us. We love the variety of “Quezzas”, a modern Mexican pizza with a cheese quesadilla crust and toppings like a pizza. My wife gets the Pacifico and I like the Lonestar. Also the bar there has a great selection of IPAs - perfect to wash down a quezza.

I have tried almost all of the Quezzas on the menu and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Don't forget the queso and dipping sauces... it's truly gourmet quality food at food-truck prices in an excellent location. One of Austin's best kept secrets.

Listen, if you want a double tortilla toasted with salsa and fake pepperoni, order from here. By far the worse pizza I have ever had. I would rather get pizza from 7-11, think about it.
