The 16 Best Restaurants & Pubs In The Cotswolds - Cotswolds - The Infatuation

"Great Tew is a sleepy village, but come the weekend, open-top Porsches “down from London” pull up outside, groups sprawl on the green opposite, and the car park is grid-locked. It’s a hot bed of lattes and laughter, as people wait for a coveted walk-in-only seat at this charming, thatched-roof cafe. Quince And Clover’s pastries are great, the grilled banana-topped tahini loaf is even better, and the avocado on toast comes with a delicious hazelnut dukkah." - sinead cranna

Quince And Clover At Great Tew - Review - Great Tew - Cotswolds - The Infatuation

"In Great Tew there’s a church, a pub, and Quince And Clover. During the week, the village is sleepy but come the weekend, open-top Porsches “down from London” pull up outside this cafe, groups sprawl on the green opposite—some with their own fold-out chairs—waiting for seats inside, and the car park is grid-locked. It’s a hot bed of lattes and laughter, as people wait for a coveted walk-in-only seat to become available inside this charming, thatched-roof cafe. The pastries are great, the grilled banana-topped tahini loaf is even better, and the avocado on toast comes with a delicious hazelnut dukkah. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna photo credit: Sinéad Cranna photo credit: Sinéad Cranna video credit: Sinéad Cranna Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

We had the most delightful brunch at Quince and Clover. The service was outstanding — the lady who looked after us was so patient, kind, and accommodating. Despite us changing our minds a few times on food and drinks, she handled everything with such grace and a smile, which really made our experience feel extra special. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and perfect for a relaxed brunch before exploring the nearby towns and villages. One small note: there are no toilets on site. They kindly suggested the pub next door, but as it didn’t open until 12, it wasn’t an option for us during our visit. We had travelled far and I was very desperate! The seating is very limited so be prepared to sit outside or bag a takeaway it’s worth it! That said, the warmth of the service and the quality of the food more than made up for it. A truly wonderful spot that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

After spending the night in Duns Tew we looked online for a coffee shop to visit before making the journey home. Finding Quince and Clover we decided to pay a visit. What a beautiful gem of a place. Only small, so we were very lucky to get a table. We were asked if another couple could share the table with us, as we had 3 spare seats, which we didn’t mind at all. The service, 5 star, the coffee, 5 star, the food 5 star and the ambiance 5 star. We felt envious of the residents of Great Tew, that get to call this place their local. Would love to visit again if we are ever in the area.

Drove 30 minutes for a breakfast date, we were for sure rewarded. Food was fantastic, everything was perfect if you ask me. Small venue, so it was a big risk to get a table or not but we luckily did. Service was also great. I was very jealous of my girlfriend’s bacon and egg sandwich, these guys make simple things look and taste insane using the best quality of ingredients. Worth the journey and if it’s a nice day take a walk after

We were staying at a cottage in Great Tew and fortunate to have this cafe on our doorstep for the duration of our stay. Had pastries and coffees each day but decided to eat in one day and had there bacon and egg bap, I was nervous if any bacon and egg bap could be worth £14 but am happy to say this bad boy was elite! Loads of perfect, crispy bacon and wonderful ingredients. Its breakfast bap utopia!

Google
‘Quince & Clover’ And yes I did ‘Quince’ at the price of the Bacon Bap But I ‘Quinced’ again at how nice it was What a bizarre find, a daytime cafe in the quaint Cotswold Village Always crowded, but they will find you a seat Situated in one of the many Tew’s Service a tad slow during busy times, but that should only bother you if are catching a bus or being pursued by the Police Vast selection of breakfast nibbles, and I even spotted a Stew ! Larger tables are shared, so don’t get the huff if you are asked to share your table, you could always discuss the price of a bacon (Brioche) Bap Parking random, and there is a larger car park close to the Cafe, or is it an ‘Emporium’ ? Dog allowed Have a walk around the village and look at the current ‘owner’ and history Great Tew Records date back to the Domesday Book (1086) For centuries, it was part of a large manor and farming estate. During the 17th century, it became known as a “centre of intellectual life” under Lucius Cary, 2nd Viscount Falkland, who gathered philosophers and thinkers. In the Victorian era, the village was effectively a “model village,” with estate workers living in tied cottages. On a personal recommendation, we called in for brunch, and we were definitely impressed. The delightful little Cotswold village, the pretty cottage, the general ambience, and the delicious food...couldn't fault it and will be back. PS Have been back and it's still amazing. Great coffee and wonderful baked goods to takeaway too😋

- seems to be q popular with long queues but the cottage atmosphere was lovely, albeit slightly out of the way - salads were standout with their edible flowers and variety of textures - ribolita was hearty - green smoothie was very fresh
