In Northern Norway, Facing My Endometriosis Through Nature and Art

"We visited Beacon, New York, to antique, have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Quinn’s, and enjoy more than a couple of hours playing the Jurassic Park game at the Happy Valley barcade."

The 12 Best Restaurants In Beacon, New York 2024

"Quinn’s looks like an old-school dive with stained glass lamps hanging over the bar and booths, but it’s actually a lot closer to an izakaya, complete with juicy karaage, bowls of steaming ramen, and a wide assortment of sake. There’s often live music, ranging from jazz quartets to DJ and experimental sets. If you catch Quinn’s on a rare quiet night (check their Instagram for updates), the dark cozy dining room is also great for catching up with friends over some chashu pork donburi and dashi ramen. A good little Japanese spot. The food is decent, not amazing but solid. The value felt a little low, with dishes like the donburi having just a few pieces of chicken and some uncooked broccoli. That said, they have a happy hour from 5-7 that’s worth stopping in for and you get $1 off a few dishes.

This place is a vibe and I can see the attraction. Dim & cozy, with a nice bar, a spot for a band to play and a good selection of beers on tap and in cans. The food though… disappointing or lack-luster. There’s a Japanese menu of ramen, rice bowls and small plates. I was actually very excited for it. We order small plates of shishito peppers, Chatsu pork bun, crispy tofu and takoyaki. All good. The crispy tofu was the best. The pork on the bun was dry, the peppers were okay and the takoyaki was okay. Nothing special happening. We ordered one rice bowl, five different ramen, and smalls plates of potato croquettes and karaage for our entrees. The eggs in all of the ramen were cold. Presumably, they make them ahead of time. The problem was that the broth for the soup was t warm enough to heat the eggs through. Same with the mushrooms in the veggie ramen - cold in the center. The rice was just okay, which is kinda the feeling for the entire meal. It wasn’t bad, just okay. I recommend going for the beer, sake and small plates selection.

This is definitely my favorite spot in Beacon. The retro vibe and moody lighting set a great atmosphere, whether you’re dining in or just grabbing a drink. I always go for the chashu ramen, sweet potato fries, and the Plum Blossom cocktail—flavorful, crispy, and perfectly balanced. It’s a place I keep coming back to.

Went to Quinn's this past Monday night to hear some live jazz music and get a bite to eat. I wasn't expecting much, ( I mean after all, it IS Beacon. NY and not lower Manhattan), but we were pleasantly surprised. It was this little splash of culture in the middle of a small town main street. The street was quiet, empty and well lit but not bright, so it gave me 1940's Berlin vibe. But maybe that's just me. Once inside the doors, you go through a heavy black curtain and your standing right next to a small stage, while in the immediate distance on the right, there are comfy booths and to the left a bar. It's not a big place, which I loved because it was this feeling of intimacy with everyone, even though it was enough space where no one was directly on top of one another. Their is an old fashioned (Retro?) ambiance about the decor. It is dated, but it seems to have been kept that way on purpose to accentuate the vibe. The best part was the demographic of the crowd. As a black woman I was concerned that a club in Beacon would be unwelcoming and I would stick out like a sore thumb.. but no. It was like the Village in NYC in there. Elders with canes, 20 and 30 somethings, a couple of kids under 12 walked past my table, 40 and 50 somethings, people of every color and shade, some people looked like they came straight from Woodstock and a few looked liked they worked on the farm all day or came straight from the office. It was truly a melting pot in there and everyone felt comfortable. No cover charge. No dress code (we wore jeans and converse sneakers). They have a nice list of drinks and can make non-alcoholic versions for those that don't drink alcohol (like me). Wonderful local live jazz band, with just the right amount of sound, so it wasn't too overwhelming while trying to eat and have a conversation with your date. The food and drinks were on POINT! Delicious Asian type food menu. Vegetarian and vegan options. I loved the fried Shrimp, Tofu, the curry Vegetable and rice and the Purple sweet potato fries. My husband couldn't stop eating and I want to go back just for some more of the food LOL. This place is well worth every penny and I think it's going to be our new date night spot. The staff was friendly and attentive. You have to check out this hidden gem with the "Juke Joint" vibes. I highly recommend.

Google
Went here with 2 other people, did sake, non alcoholic and alcoholic beer, 2 types of ramen, potato croquette hot dog, crispy tofu, overall the ramen was executed perfectly, some of the other items I think have some work to be done; would def recommend checking it out Atmosphere hella cool, feels like you are in an underground Tokyo spot nobody knows about.awesome lighting, stage for small live music Service excellent, attentive and polite; made great suggestions on sake Food: this is where I think some recommendations could be helpful: Potato croquette hot dog: this came served as a normal hot dog with 2 potato croquettes on top, I think this was overall tasty, but the execution had so many missed opportunities!! This should be a hot dog coated in mashed potato croquette filling, and deep fried, no bun needed - this one conceptually wasn’t complete and the needle wasn’t thread across the dish Crispy tofu - the sauce was all sitting at the bottom, although the tofu was super crispy and delicious. The sauce needed to be spread evenly and properly when served; half way through we realized we had all this good sauce sitting at the bottom instead of coating the tofu Ramen: excellent, veggie ramen had these juicy delicious mushrooms cooked to perfection 🤤

Google
The atmosphere of this place is perfect and the food is great too. You have got to get a hot dog. Honestly get two!! There was a band playing and it was bustling but not too loud to carry on a conversation

Google
Not too many vegeterian options here. I got the mushroom bun and sweet potato fries that came with a curry dipping gravy and amazing mayo aioli sauce. I recommend getting those. My friends got the ramen and rice bowls, the serving size was enough for each pair to share one bowl. So consider that, to save money as the price is kind of expensive here.

Google
Ramen was better than the rice bowl for takeout. Liked the potato croquettes best! Update: sit down dining food better; came for Monday Blues night. Apps: edamame. Her: chashu donburi. Him: miso chashu ramen. Dessert: choco Monaka.

Yelp
This place is super cute! I enjoyed the attentive, ease of ordering and service! I sat at the bar, and two different servers checked on me and made sure I was good! I got the takoyaki. I wouldn't order it again, as three pieces I ate were missing octopus. Covered in mayo and sauce. Just not the best takoyaki. I also got the Miso Chasu ramen! It was nice! All the toppings were great, especially the egg! The cause was a super chunky moist piece! I loved that! The noodles were lackluster. The broth was decent! A solid bowl of ramen! It still hit the spot for me! The neighborhood is lucky to have this special dive bar ish ramen joint! I would totally go back and try more stuff!

Yelp
Cool spot on Beacon Main St. with good Japanese food, funky diner feel and live jazz. 4 of us went in around 7:30pm on a Monday night. The front was full but there were plenty of seats in the back so we were seated right away. It's a comfortable place that feels like a diner, which it apparently is or was. We ordered a selection of items to share. - Steamed buns - only one per order, a bit steep for $6 and makes it difficult/expensive to share. I thought the chashu pork was pretty dry and needed more sauce. - Goma Ae - very unusual dish with broccoli (roasted?) in a black sesame sauce that we found pretty nondescript. Least favorite of our group. - Takoyaki - another very interesting dish of octopus dumplings. The texture is very mushy and not obviously octopus. The breading and sauce were delicious. - Kimchee dog - self-explanatory and very good One of our party ordered Tonkotsu Chashu Miso Ramen. He said it was very good. We caught the very end of the jazz music, which sounded good, and contributed to the interesting vibe of Japanese soul food in a dinner. The service was fast and friendly. All in all, everyone liked Quinn's.

Yelp
Imagine a 1950's diner that serves Japanese small plates and drinks as you jam to some very good live music, and you have this weirdly likable place called Quinn's. What an enjoyable evening we had hanging out here! The 2 bands we heard while sipping on beers in our booth were rocking and fun. The food is interesting, to say the least. The steamed buns were tasty bites, and Choco Manaka (ice cream sandwich) was yummy, though the waffle crust was a little soggy. The mochi ice hits the spot, but it is messy to eat. (Photos are not great, because the lighting in here is weirdly orange.) The wait staff is attentive and fun to talk to. Can't wait to come back when in Beacon again!

Yelp
I would describe Quinn's as Japanese diner food, which to be clear is factually incorrect. (It turns out I don't know even how to pronounce "karaage".) This is a good shorthand for it though -- savory, filling, unassuming, and somehow still playful on the palate like a Miyazaki movie. What really surprised me is deciding to head back to Quinn's just two days later. My companion and I had taken a look at a few places on Main Street when she said "I just want something cool and relaxing right now". So off we went. Because Quinn's is literally a comfy old American diner inside, just with moody lighting and a spectacular collection of beer and cider on offer. Quinn's is a great place for third and fourth dates, to shake off a hangover, or as a refuge from the weekend tourist traffic. Just don't tell anyone -- outside of this app of course.

Yelp
Great restaurant with a laid back dive-y decor. Mostly booths, so a great spot to hang with privacy for couples or a small group. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Great food--purple sweet potato fries and croquette were good, and the green curry mussels special was nice and spicy. They also had sparkling sake and some great sounding cocktails. Would definitely go back for good drinks and eats!

Yelp
Omg what a hidden gem!! Food is awesome, atmosphere is chill, and the funk jazz band slayed it

Yelp
Surprised by this place. The writing by the door was a clue that there was a Japanese person involved with this restaurant, despite the name "Quinn". My wife recognized that the person was likely a woman by the way the characters were written. Anyway, the interior was dimly lit, and more sake or cocktail bar centered feel with tables for eating, rather than an izakaya style place. There was live experimental electronic music playing (which I didn't realize was live until later)..You seat yourself, and I was hesitant at first to stay and eat but ended up glad we did. The menu was simple but with appealing Japanese pub type food, so we went heavy appetizers. My wife was drawn into the restaurant by the purple sweet potato fries, but she also ordered her other favorites, takoyaki and karaage. I ordered a chashu donburi, and standard sausage, which was a special. Everything was very good, except the amount of sauce on the takoyaki. It tasted good except they were really soaked with takoyaki sauce and was not evenly balanced with mayo. I other words much less takoyaki sauce and a little more mayo for the right balance. But that was really the only complaint. Karaage was hot and very good. Sweet potato fries were very nice, and my rice bowl was pretty satisfying, 2 thick pieces of chashu. The sausages were standard smoked sausages with strong Japanese style mustard sauce, with a heavy horseradish bite. More so than my wife, I appreciate the music component. Places like this can really keep a music scene and creativity going. We're only in town for a couple days so I don't know if we'll be back, but I would definitely want to return if the opportunity arose. They are open late, so it is a possibility. Rounding up to 5 stars because of the uniqueness of the place and the variety of elements it brings.

Yelp
Definitely love the vibe here, a good ramen bar, with a modern urban feel. Service was very quick here, barely ordered and in less than 10 minutes I got my ramen and shrimp. Also the service I feel was nice in sense they pleasant and no rush to decide plus give recommendations. Shrimp katsu was yummy, I enjoyed the fact the shrimp was flattened, so got it in one bite rather than just getting breading. Spicy mayo dip was good, could be more spicy though. Now the ramen, first chashu, was very thick, no thin slices here they don't hold flavor. Noodles themselves were fresh and just the right level of chew. My most part was the broth, usually places don't do rich broths and water them down. But here, the broth was rich it felt like a warm stew constancy wise. I was sipping it up, I enjoyed it so well, you can tell with broth they love the craft and it shows. Am glad I have new favorite ramen spot to replace the one that was lost in NYC.

Yelp
Divey little restaurant with Japanese ramen fare. We had the ramen with chashu, the noodles were nice and chewy. They also give you a lot of noodles so you'll be full. The takoyaki and the karaage were pretty standard. My friend had the blackberry cannibal to drink it it was so unique, it is labeled as "smoothie sour with blackberry" and it is in the best way possible. Service was quick, it was Friday and night and they had a DJ.

Dev S.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere are delightful. Prices are reasonable and the menu is a lot of fun and very playful. I've been about a dozen times and not had a bad meal... the bartenders are a little than less friendly and honestly make me feel less inclined to hang out as opposed to eating and going right away... which is sad because the space and vibes are really cool

Yelp
This was my first time back to Quinn's since 2018. Had a good experience then and again today. When you first walk in there's a sign saying to seat yourself. I had these Mushroom Steamed Buns in addition to Veggie Ramen with Fried Tofu, both of which were fantastic. Aside from food the service was good and efficient! The lighting however is heavy on the reddish orange side and it was slightly hard to read the menu. Maybe I just have sensitive eyes, but it definitely hurt my eyes. Overall, great food and good vibes.

Yelp
This local bar was a fun time while I was in town. Me and some friends had a round of drinks and were entertained by the karaoke. The var was busy late night in a Thursday. However, we had no problem getting drinks. I believe there is food as well, but we had already eaten prior to arrival. Prices were very reasonable. I was not expecting canned wine, but it was fine for the price. There is a full bar as well. There was plenty of seating and the bar was expectedly loud. Nevertheless, we had a good time!

Yelp
Unique. Eccentric. Specialty. Quality. These all come to mind when thinking of Quinn's. I had been introduced to Quinn's years ago (late night), but only first started ordering their ramen during the pandemic (take out only). This was my first time dining in. It has an old time diner feel but disco-ish. I'm not even sure if that describes it, but I recommend you go check them out for yourself. Great food, chill vibes and live music.

Yelp
Run, don't walk into Quinn's for a satisfying culinary experience that makes you feel like you are being embraced in the innocence of the pre-digital 1980's. Quinn's is a special spot. An alluring combination of hipster dive bar, DIY-cyber-Beatnik hangout and foodie-pleasing Mecca. But please don't go if you want to gawk, complain or somehow chafe it's honest retro vibe. You may miss it on the street as the unassuming storefront looks as if it's been closed since 1994. But if you do find this gem you'll pass through two red velvet curtains and into what apparently was an old Chinese restaurant-bar newly stocked with hope and a talented staff. Mostly Gen x, y and z with a smattering of 40-50 something's the clientele was drawn there for "Art Night." (No pun intended). Basically, every Tuesday night most everyone was pleasantly chatting and drawing on paper, envelopes, art blocks and iPads. Folks some might normally judge as pretentious we're having deep conversation (I like to eavesdrop) while down-regulating with art, a wide assortment of excellent cocktails and interesting brews and amazing Japanese home cooking and street food.

Yelp
The music drew us in on a Friday night and we were pleasantly surprised by the 60s gogo party with a live vinyl DJ. We didn't get to eat, but the drinks were great and priced well. The ramen looks so good. Really really good vibe.

Yelp
Nice place. Went here for ramen...there wasn't a huge selection but the food was alright. Would possibly try again.

Yelp
Fun place. Delicious food. Great crowd. Highly recommend the ramen. Great vegan/vegetarian options.

Yelp
Everything was delicious from the kimchi to the purple sweet potato fries & curry & Donburi. They also have live music which was very enjoyable albeit a bit loud.

Yelp
Came here after a NFT event with my boys, very interesting vibe here, I liked it super busy spot, this was my 1st time but from what I was told & experienced this is the fucking spot to be! It was pretty busy when we came so we probably got seated in about 15 minutes, the place was clean, and the service was on point. The food portion sizes are good but depending On your hunger level I suggest get a few things, I got the plain dogs w/ relish & Sauerkraut I'm not a huge hot dog fan but these were slapping! lol I'm going to say it was because I had it as a compliment to my edamame & purple sweet potato fries. The constant variety of tastes kept me in a cycle ADHD food bless lmao! I loved it & devoured everything! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
Food is great, drinks are great, service is great. I just want them to buy a new broom for their workers to use. I saw one of their employees using a broom that was half-duct taped and snapped in half and she was basically breaking her neck on each table. I felt really bad and I think they need a new broom. Prolly costs like ten bucks at Walmart, just sayin xoxo

Samantha C.

Yelp
You know when you're eating healthy and decide to treat yourself to a nice bowl of ramen? Well, don't go here. We've been here a few times over the years, and it's definitely not the same. The pork buns have the smallest amount of pork and mainly taste of mayonnaise. Gross. We also got the miso ramen. The broth was just not good. The flavor was odd. They don't have many add ons to choose from, so I just got what it came with. They cut up a bunch of seaweed and placed it in a pile on top, so it basically made the broth taste as such. Not good. Honestly, there was nothing good about this experience except my lovely date and the water. The ambiance is shot as well. It is VERY dimly lit. At first, it might seem like a decent vibe, but if you look around, I'm pretty sure the low lighting is strategically done so customers won't notice the old and dirty building. I attached some pics of the ceiling. The seating was ripped and falling apart and just dirty. I should have known better and left when I walked in, and it smelled like an old dirty bowling alley.
google avatar

Kailyn L.

Yelp
I was cautiously optimistic about this place after reading all the mixed reviews. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst dine in experience I've had. After we were seated, it took about an hour between when we ordered and when the food came. Even after our food arrived, it took an additional 15 minutes before the server came back to give us utensils. The food was equally disappointing. The miso ramen was extremely bland, as if they had forgotten to add salt. The donburi bowl was also rather lacking.
google avatar

Madison P.

Yelp
I absolutely loved what I had here. The tofu is soooo good. Cool looking place that has live music the times I've gone. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
Quinn's makes an excellent bowl of ramen. And seems to be back up and running and firing on all cylinders. The veggie ramen is loaded with sesame goodness, and even though the egg is not runny (sad!) it still lends a ton of richness to the bowl. And then you top it with some fried tofu...I mean, this is what I'm talking about. If you've not been inside Quinn's, you're up for a pretty wild retro fusion experience. I mean, don't expect to be able to see what you're eating, at least not in a normal color and definitely not at full brightness! I haven't hung out for live music, but I imagine it gets pretty raucous - it is a small space. And oh yeah, it is loaded to the gills with Beacon hipsters so make sure to grow out your 'stache and wear your flatbilled ironic baseball cap, you'll fit right in!
google avatar

Jim D.

Yelp
Quin's is back, bay bee! The full menu is live. The dim sum was sufficiently fermented and the curry was Currific (I made that word up to describe the goodliness). I always sit at the bar, and the bartender provided good service. I'm glad this place is back and fully operational. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for chill vibes and tasty Asian.
google avatar

Shawn W.

Yelp
Food was not great, my date has a shrimp allergy and she couldn't eat her food due to the sweet potato fries having a fishy taste and only fish on the menu is shrimp so she just wasn't comfortable with eating the fries, drinks were ok but overall we would not be returning here it just wasn't a good experience
google avatar

Larissa R.

Yelp
Paid $10 cover. Thought we were going for "the best ramen in town." Not refunded There is no ramen. Menu was completely different than on here. Was told ramen only served on Sundays for months now.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin. By NY standards, this place cannot even be called a ramen spot; only because we have so many other options to compare to. By town of Beacon standards, I can see why this would be so highly raved about since it's the only ramen spot in town. Walking in I knew I was not going into a traditional ramen place, but instead a hipster ramen spot so I already set my expectations very low. I've been to hipster ramen spots in the city, and although I was never wow'd by it, it wasn't as bad as it could've been. After a long day walking the town in the cold I just wanted some ramen soup to warm myself up. I was not prepared for what was about to unfold. We ordered the purple yam fries with curry sauce (this had flavor, but it tasted like the curry packets from the Asian markets), and this was pretty good, but the fries were just fried in flour (not panko bread crumbs or any Japanese bread crumb). I ordered the miso ramen ($12), no char siu added, and my boyfriend ordered the curry ramen ($13). I've never tasted a broth more bland in my life - the ramen broth is the key component to a ramen dish so where's the hours of flavor simmered into the broth?? And to my surprise, my broth had just a smidge more flavor than the curry broth .... what.... It was seriously a disappointment when I realized that a pack of Nissin instant ramen had more flavor than this $12 bowl of ramen. We also asked for a side of hot sauce and the waiter said he'll bring over some gochujang...homeboy brought over sambal. Now I have no problem with receiving sambal instead of gochujang but did you really think I wouldn't notice? I'm Asian, and these sauces are a staple of my diet. Also, the sambal container was definitely left open for extended periods of time because it developed a really sour/tart taste to it. I did finish my dish because I was hungry and I was paying a city's price for a bowl of ramen, but it was not worth the money at all. Oh, also, you guys charged me for char siu when I didn't order any. We were so disappointed with the place, and wanted to leave with the quickness, we left without bothering to fix the bill.

Steven T.

Yelp
A casual Japanese bar on Main St, Beacon. The only other place I found that serves Japanese food around my area. I have been craving ramen since my time in California and finding places that serve ramen well is rare(except if you are willing to travel to get it). I got the miso ramen and it was very bland. Sure the portion size was good and the price is decent but that was all it had going for it. Even the chashu pork, a mainstay for tonkatsu ramen (which they don't have), was pretty mediocre at best. I also had a few apps as well; Kara-age, which is fried chicken. Takoyaki, which was mostly dough and did not have a lot of octopus. And shrimp katsu, which is fried shrimp. All the apps were decent as well. Nothing too new to write about. As for dessert, I had the Tai-Yaki. It was pretty good but also underwhelming. Overall, If you want Japanese ramen without traveling too far and you want it cheap, Quinn's is for you. I will point out that I have never tried authentic ramen before so I am basing it on what I have experienced so far.
google avatar

Carolyn B.

Yelp
Quinn's is a neighborhood joint known for its ramen noodle dishes and live performances. Thurs., Fri., and Saturdays often have bookings by local and visiting artists. All are welcome here.

Yelp
Music super loud. Waited 15 minutes for service. Guy came to our table gave us menu and water. Took 15 minutes after that to take our orders. Then said we had 10 minutes to order food. We shall see. Didn't realize it would be 1/2 hour just to assist us. I have been in the industry and if you bring water and menus you go back in a couple minutes. Plus the female was yawning like it was the next big trend. Hence 2 stars so far. Will edit if good or okay. So went to the bathroom to wash my hands and a full keg in the bathroom. So unsanitary. Talk about a hipster bar. Edit 1 star

Yelp
This place is known for its ramen & eastern asian/art deco vibe. It's an interesting concept to have a ramen restaurant in a divey bar with live music but it somehow works. The ramen was fine. Broth wasn't very impressive, they charged extra for the pork belly (which was delicious) and the bowl was very large. We got fried shrimp appetizer which was delicious, wish they gave you more per serving. They have delicious seasonal cocktails. I had a sparkling yuzu sake cocktail, highly recommend. The price is a little expensive if you're going to sit down and order food but for drinks it's fine. I would only go back to have drinks or see a show. The food was really underwhelming.

Shaan S.

Yelp
Upbeat lively darkish fun place to be for a dinner. It's cozy but loud, sounds like a concert and looks like a bar. Dim red lights shine on your food while a band rocks out at the front. Surprisingly their food doesn't really match the atmosphere but it's ok. We got the fried chicken, ramen and bibimbap. Not expecting much we were pleasantly surprised. The pork belly was cooked to perfection so much so, I had to tell the cooks in the back on our way out how good it was. Ramen had creamy flavorful broth and the fried chicken was ok... made better by the dipping sauce it came with. Recommend for a fun night, hopefully some music, and a well worth authetic-ish food experience. Didn't get any drinks but they seemed to have a decent selection

Parker K.

Yelp
So terrible. Little bugs everywhere and when we asked about it; the waitress simply said that they get worse in the summer season. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Yelp
First off, I love how people are on their high horse about NY standards, um hello Beacon is in New York last time i checked? Anyway, this place was a hidden gem. I will say upon first walking in there I had no idea what to expect but when you friend has a craving for ramen you don't stand in their way. The space reminded me of like a converted 1970's Italian restaurant. The lighting is dark and sensual and has a red glow about it which makes your initial walk in a kind of WTF moment. The only the only type of seating available are vinyl clad booths with vintage stained glass lamps hanging over every table. I really like to think that this space is exactly how it was 40 years ago except now instead of slinging spaghetti they are doing made to order ramen. We were seated promptly and as we ordered drinks our waiter was giving us super helpful suggestions and letting us know which beers were local and dropping some brewery knowledge which I appreciated. We ended up ordering Tako-Taki (octopus dumplings) and a chicken steamed bun to share, and for my main I ordered the Soy Ramen with the Charshu pork. Apps come out and bonito flakes were dancing in the wind on top of these little dumplings. They were not at all what I was expecting they were even better! They were crunchy on the outside and so silky smooth on the inside. It was such a great contrast of textures and flavors with all the components that came on top of it, I highly recommend you try it. Being brave pays off I promise...in this case at least. The chicken bun which we ordered as our safe stand by was very meh. The bun itself was nice and chewy with a billowy soft pillow like consistency, but the filling left little us unimpressed. It was over sauced with what tasted like very sweet BBQ sauce and had crunchy noodles on it that were neither here nor there for flavor. But wait, then the ramen comes out and it is glorious. A big ass bowl of luscious, brothy goodness with golden noodles swimming about and the most gorgeous piece of pork sitting pretty on top. I loved it, honestly writing about it now makes me sad that I am an hour and half away from it. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were the perfect texture with just the slightest bit of chew that I enjoy personally. The pork was insane, it had this awesome char on the outside and it was fall apart tender inside. Next time I order it (and by god will there be a next time) I am definitely going to get two pieces of pork because I will need to take one with me as a delicious delicious souvenir.

Yelp
The fact that I have come here twice during business hours and the place has been closed is infuriating. My children really wanted to try this place but I will never try to give this place my business again. Update your website, business hours, and door signage. Ridiculous.

Yelp
I spent a night in Beacon over the holidays and my Air b'n'b hosts recommended Quinn's as a fun place to grab dinner. I was in luck because it was Soul Night, and the place was very lively and full of locals. I opted to sit at the bar because I was in the mood to be social but there are plenty of booths for group dining. Service at the bar was prompt and friendly. I had the ramen and a side order of a fried chicken appetizer. The ramen was good, filling for a cold night, and I kicked it up by adding chili oil. I also had the drink special of the night, a Mai Tai. It was really good, not too sweet and not too boozy. Quinn's seems like a solid option for a casual dinner/drinks or make a night of it and come when there's live music.

Yelp
Quinn's surpassed my expectations in every way. From the outside, it seems just like any other dive-bar. When you walk inside, you feel like you've stepped into a time capsule and have been transported to late 80s hipster town (in a good way). The restaurant is casually decorated with interesting murals and wallpapers and mismatched furniture. The waiters and waitresses are sporting buzz cuts, tattoos and ponytails. Just the right amount of eclectic vibes. As a vegetarian, it's sometimes hard to not only find a veggie ramen, but a good-tasting one is near impossible mission. Almost always they fall flat in flavor. Quinn's veggie ramen (which we had served hot instead of cold) was AMAZING. Just the right amount of salt, spice and tang. The BF ordered a Q-bowl with tofu and was raving about it. We each ordered beers recommended by the waiter and were not disappointed.

Yelp
My friend and I took a break from the city to Beacon for a weekend trip. We had marked Quinn's as one of the stops for our beer tour. However, one of the nights we did not have a place for dinner and decided to try Quinn's. I saw they are in known for ramen but was not in the mood for that so my we both got their bowls, which were just the most delicious yet super healthy things ever. My kimchi bowl had tofu, egg, rice, and veggies so the texture was perfect, and the flavor was on point. We ordered beer and a cider (that was tangy and not sweet) that just topped the experience off. I'm missing Quinn's as I'm writing this!

Yelp
Strange, pretentious hipster bar with "ramen" and other Japanese cuisine made by strange hipsters. The place used to be an old-school Greek breakfast spot with the same name & was bought out about 10 yrs ago but has kept the same decor. Was better as a breakfast spot. The 2 stars are for the cheap drink prices.

Yelp
Quinn's ramen is so on point im actually salivating just imagining that savory, umami goodness, mmmm!! It is rather dark and chill vibey inside hence why most of the photos posted on here you can barely tell what is going on. They often have live music and I'm seeing now that I missed Balkan music night back in Nov.. damn I hope they do that again soon! It's def one of those places that from the outside you don't know what to really expect or even have lower expectations. But you will be pleasantly surprised alright :)

Yelp
I would come here again when I'm in town. I've eaten at a few places around Main Street and this was the most off beat and tasty. It seems to be a quirky old diner/bar they renovated. The noodles were quite good. Service was great. They really seem to dig their jobs here. The whole ambience was chill and fun. I had the octopus fritters(is that what they're called?) and a pork ramen. Both were quite tasty. It's pretty good considering I don't recall seeing anyone Japanese in the place. Good beer, too! And a diverse clientele.

Yelp
I loved this establishment! A very unlikely name for a Japanese fast food place and bar. The decor, the staff and the quality of the service were both speedy and excellent. I enjoyed their vibe and the vegetarian miso ramen I ordered. My partner didn't like his curry rice so much, but then again, he wasn't expecting Japanese cuisine with a name like Quinn's. Lol~!

Yelp
The ramen was not necessarily bad but it was nothing to rave about. In fact, I would probably give the ramen 1.5-2 stars had the atmosphere not have been so great. The ramen noodles were not fresh and the broth was pretty simple. I could easily get much better ramen back home in NYC. The broth didn't have that umami flavor to it. However, the egg was marinated pretty well. I also really enjoyed the salmon onigiri (it came more like a hand roll than an onigiri). The yuzu sauce and the pickled veg (not sure what it was exactly) in it paired very well. Their karaage was pretty good. Not the best but it was good, better than most "bar food" you'd get. So if you're looking for a cool bar with good food, this place will do the trick. If you're looking for a great Japanese restaurant, this might not be the best place. Lighting was too awful to get decent pictures, sorry!

Yelp
Love the ramen here! Best I've had outside of the city. Their apps/small plates are so delicious and the vibe is very cool. We had to limit ourselves to ordering from here no more than once a week this winter because it was getting out of hand.

Yelp
A lot of mixed feelings towards Quinn's. It has a very specific atmosphere - dark, interesting, relaxed, something old-fashioned about it. I love the decor & booths. We ordered: -pork buns -takoyaki -miso ramen -chashu donburi The best part of all dishes was the pork: well cooked, perfectly seasoned & sauced. The buns were pretty good, but overpriced IMO ($5 for 1.. most places, even in NYC, will sell them @ 2/$8). The ramen broth was VERY bland, and my husband and I prefer a rich pork-y broth. We realize that it's not a traditional ramen broth, and that's fine, but it still wasn't great. The noodles, however, were excellent & springy. Donburi was good, but extremely salty towards the end as the rice soaked up the sauce. Their house-made kimchi tasted very pickled & sour, which I appreciated, but I would've preferred much more spice to it. Quinn's has a decent drink menu. We were CONSTANTLY swatting at fruit flies. So. Many. Fruit flies. To summarize - didn't hate it, but didn't love it.

Yelp
Disappointed by what Quinns has become. I used to come here often but the quality of the bands and service has declined over the years. The final straw was the female bartender with the black hair and undercut refusing to sell me more than one beer at a time. How embarrassing to have to go back to my group and make them come up to the bar with me, only to be ignored for another 10 minutes. This place used to be worth taking the train to visit but now its no better than any bar in Brooklyn and only slightly better than a college bar. Its a shame.
