I've been to this place several times and I always have 15-25 people with me. I schedule outings for my fitness group friends and I. We have always had a great time, but unfortunately I don't think we'll be back.
I reserved a couple of tables over the phone for 10/22 and paid $62. I had to cancel the reservation because my knee replacement surgery was scheduled for an earlier date than expected. I called R&Js on 10/14 and was told by the woman who answered that she couldn't process returns and to call after 8pm and speak to the manager Angel. I tried calling at 10:15pm and no answer. Then again at 10:30 and I couldn't hear because of the loud music so I hung up. I called again on 10/15 and was able to speak to Angel. He told me they don't do refunds because while the table is reserved, they can't reserve it to someone else. I reminded him that there was a week left so they could likely get it reserved in that time, but his response was "in the 2 years I've been managing this place we've never done a refund for reservations". I also advised him that I was never told there were no refunds on reservations, but that didn't matter apparently.
I completely understand them keeping some of it as a deposit as that is customary for reservations, but not keeping the whole thing, especially without a written or verbal agreement.
I asked to speak to the owner, but he would not give me his info. The most he would give me was his first name, Joe. He said he would speak to Joe and call me back on 10/16 and well, it's now 10/21 and still no call.
It's really unfortunate that they do business this way because I would of liked to go back again in a few months after my surgery.
