It's a pet friendly pub, and I enjoyed it. I came from out of town to do a dog show and needed to find places that my dog and I could eat at together. The food is delicious and the atmosphere was loud but it was a pub full of a lot of people having a good time. The staff and everyone around us was so friendly and welcoming. You get fresh water for your dog and they can sit with you and enjoy the night as well as long as they are leashed and friendly.

Update to original review: Truly appreciate the active response from management which to me improves the service rating! Seems like an isolated incident on a busy night. Original Review: Tuesday night dinner, group of 4 walk-in. Food is great! Service was not. Before we had finished our food, check was brought and waitress didn't ask if we needed to go boxes or anything else. We continued eating and had second waiter come say they needed the table for a reservation. Multiple open tables on patio and inside, we had been there less than an hour.

My friend and I went for Taco Tuesday and definitely ready to go back already! Our waitress Bella was amazing, the food was awesome! And the weather was perfect!

There are very few places I seek to return to on a semi regular basis, but R Bar is top of the list. The atmosphere is lovely (love the patio with greenery), the service is always so friendly and personable, and the food is consistently top notch quality. Their truffle fries are a must, and the seasonal veggies are always better than I can prepare at home. So yummy! Also, I'm not vegetarian by any stretch, but their veggie burger is *so good*. Already looking forward to going back!

Google
Excellent! Simple basic breakfast yet Very Impressive Country Bacon and Scrumptiously seasoned home fried chunky potatoes. It's not often breakfast flavors "pop"... I'll be back when I'm in the area! Good food and service. You'll like the Vibe here!

Google
I had a really nice time here. The chips and queso were delicious. The beer menu is large, and the patio is cooled during a hot day. My only complaint is, it's not even worth saying honestly is it is very loud. But it's a pub, and festive... so ambiance and condition cancel that. Oh, and it's patio pet friendly!!! Like, come on!!

Google
Place is nice, ample seating. Server was fast and friendly. Outdoor seating was plenty with fans. So far not a fan of the food. They're "participating" in Vegan Chef Month (Apr) so I tried the vegan bahn mi and it was completely flavorless aside from the pickled items. The bread was actually more tasty than the jackfruit (Im curious to know if the bread was vegan as well). Only been once, but I will definitely visit again to try other things.

We visited R Bar with a group of 40 for our son’s graduation celebration. The food was delicious! Bill and his team did a great job with warm and friendly service. We planned to do a champagne toast with the large group and Bill made special arrangements to procure champagne cups at the last moment. The team went above and beyond to make this a special day for us. Warm Southern hospitality at R Bar!

Yelp
Stopped off on a Wednesday afternoon for a quick bite on our trip from St Louis to Dallas. Food was good...great veggie burger. Beer selection was good with some nice local brews. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Yelp
A Happy Hour disappointment or an Unhappy Hour Dan and I were here last week for lunch when we took our dog to Dog Day Wednesday at the Gathering Place. We were pleased with our lunch. We split chicken tenders and fries. We thought the advertisement of their week day Happy Hour and their Tuesday and Wednesday specials looked like good deals. This week, we timed taking Baxter to the Gathering Place so we would be leaving the park at Happy Hour. What a disappointment! I don't give under 3 stars just because I don't like the food. This happy hour gets 2 stars because it appears they were purposefully deceitful with their Happy Hour menu. First, they advertised happy hour beer for $3. Our beers at lunch last week were $7.50. We thought $3 during happy hour would be a big saving. In smaller print it says to ask your server for today's selections. Okay, we thought maybe they changed the happy hour beers every day. Turns out the $3 beers are just lower quality beers which always cost $3. The server did try to tell us they were the discounted beers, but on further questioning, we discovered that is the regular price for those beers. There's no discount. There's no today's selection. If you want to order the $3 beers during Happy Hour, you can. You can also get those beers for $3 any other time because that's their regular price. I ordered one and it tasted like the cheapest beer on the menu. On the back of the Happy Hour easel was an advertisement for their special nights. Wednesday is hamburger night. I assumed the burgers would be regular sized. It looked like a good special, a burger and fries for $6. I was shocked when I saw the size. I would say the buns are somewhere between a happy meal bun and a biscuit. I put a fork next to the little burger to help show the size. The fries which had been fresh and delicious at lunch last week tasted like they had sat under a heat lamp way too long. We left most of them. I will likely go back for lunch sometime because they have a dog friendly patio, but that is our last happy hour there. BTW. The free appetizer of chicharrones are pork rinds. It is my fault that I didn't know the correct name for pork rinds. I was eating them asked Dan what they are made of and commented that they looked a lot like pork rinds. He said, "I think that's what they are." It was my fault for not knowing. Just passing this on in case someone else doesn't know the proper name for pork rinds.

Yelp
Popped in just for a drink on a Friday afternoon and it happened to be happy hour! My friend and I each got several drinks off the happy hour menu - they were delicious. I had a grapefruit concoction with gin and my friend had a fruity mojito. The complementary chicharrones though..my FAVORITE. Be sure to ask for them! They came out popping and crackling! Waitress was cheerful and attentive :)

Yelp
Did someone Taco Tuesday. I stumbled upon this place and it just happed to be a Tuesday which was divine timing. I ordered the short rib tacos and spicy strawberry margaritas

Yelp
Dog friendly patio seating noisy but fun. We split a very generous order of chicken tenders with fries. More than enough for the 2 of us. Quite tasty with honey mustard dipping sauce. Plan to return soon.

Yelp
This was the start to a day-early Valentine's celebration. We walked in a few different spots on Brookside but they were packed. R Bar was not. I really don't know why. We only had pre-dinner cocktails here because we had reservations across the street. Honestly, I would have been fine hanging out here and we even considered coming back after dinner. Regardless, the service was great and the cocktail was fantastic. I had the Lavender Sour. Very drinkable. Bartender was very friendly and chatted with everyone. Might make this spot a go-to place. I would love to check out their Taco Tuesdays again.

Yelp
Food was great. Service excellent and vibrant atmosphere. Excellent ice coffees and cocktails. We were a big party so got lots of options for brunch. Donut holes were plentiful. Portions large. Only thing I was not a fan of was the lobster & prawn bisque (not my favourite). But the french onion soup was delicious. Bacon was candied.

Lindsay W.

Yelp
We love this place so much! Rachael is always so helpful! The weekend brunch is great! I love the quiche on Sundays! I will return often!
google avatar

Sherry G.

Yelp
Ordered a burger and truffle fries. Ordered medium well and it was cooked so done it was really dry. The fries were also very dry and I believe they were left over and rewarmed. Not a good experience.

Yelp
R Bar is a fun spot with good food and good drinks that has indoor and outdoor seating. I have been a few times but I recently enjoyed Taco Tuesday which was a very economical way to enjoy a weekday evening out. Lots of tacos to choose from and delicious margaritas as well! I tried a spicy margarita and it didn't disappoint.

Yelp
The food was pretty good here! The buffalo chicken sandwich was FIREEEEE. The service was good too, and the outdoor area was a fun place to hangout! They have heaters and it's covered so it's cool when it rains. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jenna L.

Yelp
One of the best places to take your dog for a chill hang out. The patio is huge and has heaters in cold weather. Part of the patio is enclosed in winter, and you CAN take your pups in there too. I learned that the hard way after sitting outside along the street and the waitress told us we could always move into the enclosed patio. How cool is that? Tons of space. This is the only place I've found that offers brussels as an appetizer and the portion is large. I love a delicious, healthy app. I would go here just for this snack. The truffle fries, chicken tenders, and Royale burger (thick patty) were all delicious too. If you love dill pickles, you will love their thick cut pickle chips that come with burgers. This is a Brookside favorite.

Manny R.

Yelp
I feel like the best way to describe this place is as a gastropub, great lively vibe, high end pub menu and a little bit of a sports bar too. This place offers it all. Nice selection of local beers and more at good prices. Sat at the bar and ordered the WAG burger with truffle fries and it was good but I ordered it medium and it came out well done. It comes with an over easy egg and the bartender was so attentive that I decided not to send it back because the eggs was definitely cooked over easy and that helped. The truffle fries were good but needed more seasoning, truffle flavor. Overall good experience, will come back for another medium/pink in the middle burger

Yelp
Came for the Taco Tuesday special and ordered the $3 tacos. Once again I was blown away by how good they were!

Yelp
There is street parking in front and a very small lot behind the restaurant. I have visited for brunch and dinner several different times. We have played Sunday night trivia, watched a football game and hung out with friends and enjoyed every meal and cocktails. The truffle and sage fries are one of my go to items when visiting, the fries are thick and crunchy and the chipotle aioli is yummy. I enjoyed my avocado Huevos the corn tortillas should be cracked into smaller pieces, that is my only critique because the flavor is good even without cheese. The chicken wings are really good and I love the Brussel sprouts here. The service is consistent each visit. Whether enjoying the patio or seated inside, you will enjoy the food.

Paul R.

Yelp
waited over 20 mins to place a drink order. will never be back. Waitress would rather dance and hang out with her friends than do her job.

Yelp
Food and service are always great! Definitely a staple in our line-up and a what I'd consider a "Tulsa Staple," too!
google avatar

Shanasia L.

Yelp
Flew in from Atlanta to visit my sister and she brought me here for brunch. LISTENNNNN those pancakes were some of the BEST pancakes I've ever had in my 33 years of living!! Wyatt and Eli took great care of us! We celebrated my sister, Tati, (cause they alllll know here ) engagement and the whole patio participated. 10 10 from beginning to the end! Definitely hope I can have those pancakes again before I leave. The music was great also.

Yelp
R Bar has done it again! It's becoming my favorite restaurant in Tulsa. I love how they change their menus every now and then. Tonight they had a "Wednesday Brinner" menu and their Brunch Quesadillas were phenomenal!
google avatar

Marcia L.

Yelp
Been here a few times and there is more than one reason. First, they are super dog friendly which means a lot. Second, a friend wanted to see a specific football game and the place we went to watch it wasn't able to put it on. We Googled and this place had it on. We called and said we had a party of 6 and could the accomodate us. They DID! What service for such short notice. The brussel sprouts are off the chain. the brunch vibe is great and the service is always friendly. Go and enjoy!

Yelp
Dined here for lunch recently with a friend and had a great experience. It had been a while since my last visit for no particular reason. The last time I came here I recall the food was good , etc. My friend recommended the veggie burger and I will say that I had my reservations. Most veggie burgers I've had elsewhere have been underwhelming; however, this one was especially delicious served on a brioche bun. Opted for the seasonal vegetables as my side, and it was also a home run....wild mushrooms, parsnips, and asparagus. The service was also excellent - curious, timely, knowledgeable on menu offerings. Patio seating is nice with relatively good ambiance.

Yelp
I've been here twice! Once for brunch and once for a later lunch. This place is awesome! They are pet friendly on the patio, they bring out a bowl of water for them. The first time we sat in the patio on the right side with 5 dogs and it was great! Staff was awesome as my big girl likes to lay right in the walk way and they happily stepped over her they have great roll down screens and small a/c units so it's very nice to sit when it's warm outside. I tried their frozen mimosa both times and it's such a nice refreshing drink on a warm day and comes in a nice cup that keeps it cold. I also tried their sour from Crosstimbers brewery here in okc and it's my fav and was so happy to see a Tulsa restaurant having it! I think I tried a breakfast sandwich but can't quite remember. This time when I went we split the chicken and waffles (pretty good and loved that the chicken had a nice thin crust and tasted delicious). We also split the fried green tomatoes and it was exceptional with the sauce. We split the brisket Mac and cheese which was amazing as well! It was real max and cheese! We will always visit this place when we come.

Sunni D.

Yelp
Taco Tuesday here is phenomenal! The tomato bisque and pretzel make a perfect start and the beer-braised cauliflower tacos are amazing! Give it a try....you will be amazed!

Tiffany B.

Yelp
The chips and queso were really good! We came here to watch football and there are plenty of tv's to watch.

Cole D.

Yelp
I absolutely love this spot! If you come to north east oklahoma it's a must visit! Great people, great music, great drinks and on top of that, the people are amazing. The service was impeccable and extremely quick.

Yelp
Awesome covered patio great food & service. Such a great vibe....always. Love the trivia...gifts

Yelp
The food and atmosphere is great! I had the Royale burger with cheese, and my fiancé had the chicken and waffles -- both were so good. We also brought our puppy and were able to sit outside; they're very pet-friendly and brought her a water bowl while we ate.
google avatar

Tyrone S.

Yelp
Hadn't been here in awhile and it definitely didn't disappoint then and it didn't disappoint last night! Good service good food and I sat at the bar talking sports so long my wife had to pull me away Hahahha! We will definitely be back. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was

Yelp
8 month follow up review. It's still good! The food is delicious, the drinks are good, and the menu is very well priced. I will be back here, I like this place. The service is also very good, we have had a waiter called Eli and he does a fantastic job.

Yelp
Great locally owned establishment located in the heart of Brookside. Have a Chambong while you're there!

Skylar M.

Yelp
Decent overall. Not the first choice on brookside. Sometimes the service can be subpar with certain staff members
google avatar

Krupa H.

Yelp
Taco Tuesday! Every Tuesday $5 margaritas and $3 tacos. We ordered different beverages, but enjoyed our tacos. The service was on point. Our bartender was knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Searching for a sit down restaurant on a Saturday night is getting harder now that everyone is outside. Without a reservation we tried the R bar. It was my first time there. I always try a cocktail off the menu so this time I chose the lavender sour. It was all sour with no lavender. It was just ok it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. We got the meatloaf patty melt with the truffle fries and the fish and chips. The meatloaf was a huge portion and had a good taste but the truffle fries stole the whole show. The cod was beer battered and it wasn't too greasy or doughy so I liked that. The regular fries failed in comparison to the truffle fries, they were mediocre at best. Pros: Big portions and friendly staff Cons: The items we chose taste basic at best
google avatar

Deena S.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly and brought my puppy a bowl of water early on which was helpful! The dog friendly HEATED patio was a great space for us since it was pretty chilly. The drink was great - tasted delicious but was also not light on the alcohol. I had the R Manhattan. For food, the server gave some recommendations that sounded great and I decided on the buffalo chicken sandwich- recommended! Very flavorful and filling
google avatar

Shuntasia C.

Yelp
My first time trying out R Bar & Grill... loved it! I'd definitely go back. I ordered the chef's special of the day for brunch-- crab cake Benedict with crispy potatoes -- it did not disappoint! My ratings: Food 5/5 Drink 5/5 Atmosphere on patio 4/5
google avatar

Deborah H.

Yelp
We love RBar! The food is from scratch and always wonderful. The lobster bisque is among the best I've ever had! They are always friendly and the service is fantastic. We always sit in the dog-friendly enclosed patio and they know our pup by name!
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Place is decent. Nice interior! Patio could be a wee bit more comfortable, but is heated in the winter time, which is a huge thing around here. Good fun sitting by the windows in the summer & chatting it up with passersby on the sidewalk that runs in front of it. Staff is always courteous and seems willing to help. I have noticed that it can be a bit of a wait between "table touches", but they're always willing to take care of you, and I have little doubt that if a mistake were ever made (this, so far, hasn't happened), they would be willing to take care of it. Drop in and get a good sandwich or their signature garlic fries!

Tommy B.

Yelp
Best food in Tulsa, great service and no clue why this has a 3.9 rating as we have eaten here several times in the last two years while visiting friends in Tulsa, and each time the food is fresh, cooked perfectly, menu varied yet each item tried is excellent, great service and they also allow pets--added bonus. HIGHLY recommend.

Yelp
#fatjared say...Unfortunately, after hanging out here a bunch, when I finally tried to food, I was disappointed. Not much good to say about this experience. I have been to R Bar multiple times to just hang with friends, and honestly I do love it for that. The outside patio is fun, it's warm in the winter, you can bring your dogs, you can be loud and have a great time, but if you want to go for a legit meal, I suggest other bars. The food is average at best, and our service was far below average. For my grading scale, 1 star means absolutely nothing good to say, and 5 stars means 0 complaints whatsoever. I am consistent with this to my own disappointment sometimes, but this is a 2 star bar for sure. The good stuff, is the layout, the feel, and the wings. While yes they were a bit salty, they still slid off the bone very well, and were good leftover as well. A good sign of a well cooked wing. Saltiness with buffalo sauce just goes hand in hand. The candied walnuts on the salad were BOMB also. Now for the bad. The brussles were under cooked, and way too oily. The salad did not have a tasty vinaigrette and was pretty plain. They had good choices of different beer, but you can't run out of a beer on draft on a Fri night, that is just unacceptable at a place that is labeled as a gastropub. Made me not even want to order a beer. All of that wouldn't have been terrible, but the service we had was awful. She was not nice, never showed up for long periods, would put the drinks down without saying anything or asking how we were, and was actually sassy. Sorry, I know it's a bar and you can be having bad nights having to work on Friday, but when you're coming off as rude and the whole table recognizes it, that's not ok. She realized she messed up, and tried to make a comeback, but it was def too late. Overall, there are way better places to go to watch a game, hang out with friends, and get better bar food with more options for draft beers. Sorry. Below average bar.

Yelp
Wife and I went in today to try this place for the first time, it was after 3PM so that place was not crazy busy, we were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted, we picked a table close to the entrance. After a few minutes of waiting and wondering if we were going to get a menu, a couple of guys walked in and teated at table next to us. The person that greeted us came and tended to them, while we were still waiting, we decided to take our appetite somewhere else.
google avatar

Victoria P.

Yelp
We had the R club and the French dip at lunch. Both were great! Recommend the truffle fries as well.

Shanelle S.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday around 2pm and the place was still buzzing. There are large screen TVs on the enclosed patio, and there were a lot of people sitting on the patio enjoying the sunshine. The service was a bit slow but it's understandable since she seemed busy. We split brussel sprouts for our appetizer which was nice and crispy. The chipotle sauce that came with it was just okay - not smokey enough, on the bland side. I got the Three Piggies sandwich which had bacon, ham, and pulled pork inside sourdough bread. You can pick the side, and I chose fries, which were thick cut. You can make them truffle fries for $2 more or you can be healthy and get the seasonal vegetable (which were green beans on that particular day). The bacon was my favorite part - there was a faint taste of hickory and it was thick cut yet still crispy. I could only eat half my sandwich and took the rest home. The bathrooms are inside to the left. There's no WiFi and you can park across the street in the large free lot. You can bring dogs and there were a lot of them chilling in the patio. Prices were reasonable and the food was solid.

Yelp
R Bar is a vibe on Brookside, we love to come here and hang on the patio drinking a cold beer. But I came here to tell you to don't underestimate the Brunch Caesar Salad, honestly one of the best I've ever had. The fried garlic and blackened chicken sets this salad above all others. Don't sleep on the Caesar guys, it's pretty unbelievable.
google avatar

Traci M.

Yelp
Was here for brunch, a couple of friends we were with come here everytime they're in Tulsa. We got the truffle fries, Chambongs (not on the menu but you can order them) I had the grilled cheese chef special which was fire and my boyfriend had the chicken biscuits. Everything looked and smelled really good, ambiance was great, patio was cute and service was attentive. Would recommend for brunch definitely

Kody F.

Yelp
I would love to be able to tell people how the food was, but I did not get the chance to eat here due to the awful service we experienced (or rather, didn't experience.) The sign out front said to wait to be seated by the host. Nobody was up front at first but after about a minute somebody did come and for some reason instead of seating us at one of many open tables inside they put us out on the crowded , noisy patio between two large parties of obnoxious people constantly taking selfies. At no point in the 30 MINUTES that we sat out there did anybody come to check on us, offer us water, or take our orders. Even after multiple attempts to get the attention of the servers routinely checking on the tables around us. People that came in 15 minutes after us were brought drinks right away and any attempt to catch the eye of one of the 3 servers or wave them down were completely ignored as if we were invisible. It was two young women and a young man with a man bun...I don't know how they could have possibly not seen me waving at them. I have to wonder if it had something to do with race since nobody else appeared to be having problems getting service and we were the only table there that wasn't 100% white. And the host that seated us saw us get up from our empty table and walk out yet did nothing to try to remedy the situation or even say goodbye. Do better R Bar.

Dale B.

Yelp
Liked this place. Food was good. Tasty burger and wife had blackened salmon. Staff very friendly. Sat at bar, good time!

Yelp
Surprisingly better than traditional bar food. Good location and good service. Like Chef prepared food in a sports bar setting.

Kolton K.

Yelp
Wonderful neighborhood spot. Great selection of local beer on tap. Their burgers and truffle fries are the comfort you are looking for while you cheer on your favorite team!

Yelp
We called a week ahead of time to reserve a table for 8 people on a Sunday morning. Five minutes before we arrived, we got a call that our table was given to a customer who threw a fit. That was an unfortunate way to start our time at R Bar. 20 minutes after our scheduled reservation, they were able to seat us. The food was good and so was the service, we just didn't get off on the right foot.
