The service was wonderful. The place was packed for the Sea Hawks/Rams game but I felt like the only one in the place. The Three cheese tortellini was so creamy and generous. The culture of this place lives up to it's handle, "The neighborhood living room." I'm back for the rib steak. Stay tuned.👍👍

Great menu, better than average food and great service. What is all this talk about homophobia? I felt a good vibe there with everyone seeming to enjoy each other's company. I think the handle, Neighborhood couch," was very discriprive. I'll be back.

I recently re-visited the R Bar and found it to be a nice pub with cold beer, many varieties on tap and bottles. The bar service was great, the bar tender was kind and friendly to this outta towner, its great to be welcomed in! I didnt get a chance to try their extensive pub grub menu, but it looks appealing. There were plenty of sports on their many overhead big screen TV's. I look forward to my next visit when I'm in Long Beach,.,.,.,

Something for everyone here. It has a trendy hipster look overall but has lots of TVs for sports. The menu is similar in that way and has everything from avo toast to chicken wings. Bonus points for shuffle board in my opinion and a digital jukebox so everyone can be happy with the music. Friendly service and nice wine and beer selection.

This place was alright. Lively bar, good vibes. Staff needs more help or something because they were struggling to keep up. Kinda smaller but nice ans chill

The food was delicious at this rowdy TV sports bar. We came for trivia and everyone was so nice. Would have been cool if they wrote their own questions and had a weekly trivia but the warm staff and kind community along with the veggie burgers and chile relleno egg rolls will have me coming back again.

Super fun place and they have a great keto menu which is helpful if you’re trying to be healthier. The only reason for the 4 stars is the service was a bit slow and everything was very spicy! I’m not a huge spice girl so I just wish there would have been a warning.

Great place to hang with friends, great music, delicious food and the drinks well they make anything you’re in the mood for!!

Food: B+ my fiancé thinks the ahi nachos got heated up a bit sitting under the hot lights waiting to be brought to us because it took about twenty minutes to receive. The concept of the dish is delicious though. Like that they offer this healthier take on nachos dish for some fish variety. Service: B the bartender today seems overwhelmed however it is Pride weekend. We have had exceptional service here before even doing Scooby snacks as a smart suggestion from the worker. Bartenders practice clean habits with neat fingernails and secured hair. Ambiance: A. Lively crew frequents here and people into sports so it's one of the better venues in town. It is one of our go-to's. It's clean inside.

I came to the R Bar this past friday night to meet a friend thinking it was gonna be a nice mellow night but unfortunately their off duty bartender Arturo Mendoza had other plans. As a fellow manager of a restaurant near the r bar I find his actions completely unacceptable coming towards me and my friend interrupting our conversation asking "yall good? He good?" Clearly trying to incite a reaction out of me. Not once but multiple times throughout the night. The staff behind the bar that night were awesome but the individual off the clock getting drunk and harassing a paying customer isn't. I've been to this bar many times before and this experience alone is enough for me to not go back and not recommend this establishment to anyone.

I went in the catch a eurocup match. I sat at the bar and ordered food. I got the wings with lemon pepper dry rub. They were decent. I was not expecting to see birria tacos on the menu. I ordered one and was actually impressed, it comes on corn tortilla and meat was so good. This was a pleasant surprise. I just wish they had consume with it.

My coworkers and I come here frequently during lunch, and the food is absolutely delicious--not your typical "bar food." This week, we enjoyed their All-American Burger. I love how soft the brioche bun is! The patty was well-seasoned, and I loved their in-house-made pickles. We also had their Miso Salmon special today, and it was fantastic! The flavors of the mushrooms and soy glaze on the salmon were perfect. The rice and the salmon were both cooked to perfection. We also tried their Crispy Rice Ahi Tuna roll--SO GOOD! And the Caesar Salad was very tasty and fresh. I'd also like to thank Courtney, Chanel, and Achilles, who work there and are absolutely amazing people.

So I moved to Long Beach about a year ago and was recommended to the R bar. I went in, sat at the bar and was just minding my own business people watching and having a beer. There was an individual a few seats down from me who was extremely drunk, aggressive, and looked like he just crawled out of a dumpster. he kept approaching me to tell me that the seat I was in was his, but yet when I came in, he was sitting further down the bar and this seat was empty. He was obviously looking for trouble, but the problem I have is no one that worked at the bar said or did anything about it .I don't go out to have confrontations with people. He was obviously that type of person so I finished my beer and just left. It was probably the most uncomfortable I've ever been in any bar in my life. I travel a lot and have a lot of positive,good experiences everywhere.This bar left a bad taste in my mouth as it would have a lot of other people ,had this happened to them. I will probably give it another chance in the near future and upgrade my one star experience if that a**hole isn't there the next time I go, but it seemed like he was a regular because everyone seemed to know him.

Good food while watching a game! Small but cozy not quite as busy as it use to be but still my go to for catching a game. Drinks are good I usually do a bottle of champagne w/ orange juice but the price has increased a bit. Breakfast burritos or nachos usually my fav here! Service is solid all around cool vibes

Staff literally standing around asking everyone else if they needed anything while constantly ignoring me. Really bad service especially from the lady in the hat . The wings were good but I'm not sure if I'd go back due to the awful disrespectful service. There were to many staff members to be ignored to this degree and there are many other spots in the area. I don't recommend going here if you're a person of color!

Good place to hang out with friends. Band was nice and I liked the songs, but a bit too loud for my taste. I had difficulty hearing the person next to me. My ear hurt and my throat was sore from having to yell. That's the reason for the 3 stars. Menu cocktails seemed to lack the alcohol but when I ordered a traditional drink (i.e. old fashion), the alcohol was obvious. Overall, service was nice and good place to catch a game because of all the TVs.

I would say that this bar is the place to go on a Tuesday. They have a great deal for their Taco Tuesday. $2-$2.50 tacos, $5 margaritas and $5 selected tequilas! I had their beef, chicken, fish and al pastor tacos and they were worth it! Their taco sizes were the size of a street taco and comes with one green and red sauce. I also had a shot of their tequila and their margarita, which went great with the tacos. The service was fast, and the drinks and foods came out quickly. I was there around 5:00pm so there was not a lot of people there. In the inside there is a large U-shaped bar and some booth tables, but there is also a patio seating available. There is also a lot of TVs surrounding the bar, which could be a good place to watch a game. I also recall seeing a shuffleboard table next to the bar.

Wow so many things to say about the Racist Bar, sheesh I wanted to give them a chance & not judge til experienced the BS first hand , they got this new queen working there & he is rather rude I believe he has a thing for his bar back rather then his customers , idk if you have to be a regular or a certain race but he had no time for me & my kind lol . Like I told her , don't change for me cause I don't like your service but let it be known I see you & I don't have to spend my money here , he tried to patronize me by paying for my drinks but yet kicked me & my party out by giving us Togo cups for our drinks lol no problem we was leaving anyway . The bar could be a decent cool spot I'm just unsure on the type of crowd they looking for , idk if it's a newbie spot or a place for regulars, it's really a hit & miss when going there

Peopl were great, drink special were excellent. Music was hmmm ok. But I still had fun . Food was umm bar food! . We had a blast.

Billy is the reason why we visit r bar. His drinks are top notch and the service is incredible. So thankful for this place in old Orcutt and Billy.

It's been awhile since I visited RBar and I must say the good times and food are still awesome! The Breakfast Burrito and salsa was the best I've had in Downtown Long Beach. Also, Ronnie the bartender has awesome energy and defines customer service. You want Good-times, Good Food, Great value and Great drinks... Look no further RBar in Downtown Long Beach is the place to visit!

I ordered the shrimp tacos I did not expect them to be that dam good . I will make sure I order again from the place. customer service was amazing.

Used to love this spot until all the recent drama surrounding it. Even put up with the owner constantly hitting on me in front of my man. Drinks are STRONG which is a plus! This place used to be crazy fun but has since gone downhill fast .. sad to see it.

Beautiful bar in a beautiful area however it's hit or miss if you get a polite bar tender. I never been ignored by a bar tender when trying to purchase a drink this one was a first. Hopefully those two bad experiences will be the only 2 because there isn't much in the area and I would hate fire such a beautiful bar to invest the time and money into hit or miss service

This place used to be an Indian restaurant and although it was sad to see it go...the R Bar has been a very happenin' spot! They serve yummy food & good drinks but mostly...the vibes, the music, the servers and the bar tenders are so nice and even remember your faces when you become a regular! Covid has nothing on this place! Great spot for get-togethers with friends, clients and meeting your 1st dates! Yup! I suggest going to the beach to workout or walk your dog and come by! The owner is super nice and caring and even hangs out with folks outside. Can I tell you about the oatmeal cookie shot, though??? Mmmmm!!! One of my fav shots! Follow me for more food and drink advice! Or even comment and suggest YOUR favorite foods and drinks at the spots I visit! I love supporting local restaurants, so stay tuned for more! :) Oh! they have roaches in ther establishment even in the bathroom which scared the crap out of me when I went to use the bathroom almost crawled on my hand

My favorite bar in Long Beach. I love the local crowd and the new friends we meet here. Try their burgers they are so good. I'm so happy they have outdoor seating so we can still enjoy their yummy food and drinks during this pandemic.

Great service, fun people, great food and has band that plays there once a month called Rock Stallion. Their specials are awesome with a Chef' G. My fav is the breakfast burritos, their wing Wednesday.

In town for a conference and I was walking past the R Bar and saw the sign for Spaghetti Wednesday and thought ...when in Rome (or in this case, Long Beach) why not? A neighborly pub atmosphere will greet you in the smallish room. the bar is surrounded by tables and a shuffle board table sits on one side. if I were with a group I'd be playing! Since their sign out front drew me in, naturally I had to try the Spaghetti. While the special was solo spaghetti (and all you can eat for $5) you can upgrade with meatballs ( all beef) and garlic toast for a few bucks more. Not only a great price, it was really tasty. The tomato sauce was a hearty and zesty flavor and the pasta cooked perfectly. Sadly, I've had spaghetti specials where the noodles are slimy and the sauce, uninspired. That was definitely not the case here. The dish was topped off with a nice parmesan light coat. A wide beer on- tap selection beckoned, but since I was 3 hours behind, my East Coast clock said to pass. And full disclosure, although the special was for unlimited helpings, I only got through one. It was satisfyingly filling and I had a pleasant taste to take back to my hotel.

The bartenders here are so fun and down to earth! That's what brought me back at first. Stephanie made the best Bloody Mary I've had in years (and her personal concoction, Mexican lollipop., pictured here!) Hooollly shit!! Her and Charlene are the absolute best. Their covid precautions are safe and accommodating which is also very appreciated. Taco Tuesday is an insanely good deal as well

Service was horrible on a Sunday around 3 pm. Was like pulling teeth to get something . Took 20 minutes plus to get drinks or 2 of us, Ordered nachos and had a hair in it. Will never the back.

This is by far the most unprofessional restaurant I've ever ate at. The service was extremely horrible from the time we walk in. The waiters gave us attitude and made us feel unwanted. Most of all we were charged for all of our items before we were even handed the bill. We had a open tab and they charged everything to the card and handed us the receipt. Then proceeded with a attitudes after being corrected.

Service needs improvement. I came here on a Sunday afternoon to grab some drinks and some food. The hostess that greeted us was really nice and sat us to our table. There were two female bartenders working that day both were short and had similar sore attitudes. When we went up to the bar to order some drinks my aunt saw a drink that another patron had. She thought it looked good so she asked one of the bartenders what was in it. Not only did they ignore her the first time she asked, but when they did finally respond to her one of the bartenders couldn't make the drink because she didn't know how and the other said she couldn't re-make the drink because they didn't have the ingredients (what?). We ended up just ordering a beer and wine. Unfortunately, one of the bartenders was also servicing our table. She would walk past our table and ignore us. Our hostess came to actually check-up on us and I asked if she could be our waitress instead because, but unfortunately we had to order with the bartender. We did order some food and it was actually quite delicious. I really enjoyed the mushroom flatbread. It was cooked perfectly, had a good amount of mushrooms on it as well as big slices of avocado. My mother-in-law ordered the spicy pasta. The pasta was the perfect al dente and it had a good kick of heat at the end. I am giving two stars for the food and one star for the wonderful hostess who was super kind to us. The attitude and lack of service from the bartenders really put a hamper on our experience.

Don't let the sports bar vibe about this place fool you. The kitchen here is absolutely fire. I've not had a single dish that hasn't been phenomenal. Notables include the Chicken Picatta and the Chicken Curry (Chicken Tikka Masala). Rick and crew are on point, and it's a bonus that you can get such phenomenal food for a heck of a reasonable price and enjoy all your sports games. 10/10

Came here for Thursday trivia night. Service was amazing- loved the bartenders Food was ok- bar food and we didn't expect gourmet . Like the wings, chicken fingers and fries- yum... cauliflower pork pizza was average . The vibe was a bit obnoxious with drunk people interrupting trivia and shouting stuff. Not sure if we will be back for trivia but it was cool sports bar with good customer service

I am a visited from out of town doing some work and am always looking for new places. This place has a great atmosphere and seems like a great place. It was listed on yelp as an option for late night option for dinner as well. So when I got there around 8:45pm I ordered my drink. Then at around 8:53pm I inquired how the food was in which the bartender said it was really good. So I asked for a menu and he said I would have 7 minutes to order as the kitchen was closing. He then disappeared after handing me the menu to sit on one of the bench seat next to the front entrance and did not reappear until 9:01 in which the kitchen is now closed. Why would you tell me that I have seven minutes to order then disappear for over those seven minutes. So I closed my one drink check and moved on. You do need to update and have Yelp take you off late night option for dinner if this is not the case.

I live down the street & I wish I would have tried this place sooner... This place has really good vibes from the drinks, bartenders, servers, food, and the owner! I love coming here for a couple of Cadillac margaritas and pasta. They have really yummy pasta (pesto pasta with salmon and shrimp & spicy chipotle pasta with chicken) The only thing is that I wished they had their pasta after 9 pm...

First time here nachos was fire. Chicken was flavorful. Bartenders took a second to take The order but food came out quick. They have a Juke box choice of Music was good. It's a mix of People. Would come Again.

Came in for a couple of drinks before dinner reservations down the street. Service was fine, not amazing but we weren't abandoned. The music was so loud inside you'd have to shout to talk, luckily we got a table on their patio where we could still enjoy the music but hold a conversation too. They had Kona Big Wave on tap, which is a win for me! What I thought was odd though was that they kept my card for a tab and charged me $25 right off the bat for our first two drinks rather than running a actual tab and then when we ordered two more of the same beers, they then charged me $8.08 for those two... Happy Hour couldn't have accounted for such a difference as we got there shortly after 6 and closed our tab right before 7.... I didn't have time to ask about it the odd pricing and way they charged as our reservations were at 7 elsewhere but seemed very odd.

Came here for the first time and will NEVER be back. Things started out fine and then around 6 the bar tenders switched and the volume went from loud to unbearable. We left, like immediately. If it's a club just say so. I wish you could post videos on this platform so I could show y'all the stupidity. We asked one person to turn the music down and they did. Then another person promptly turned it up and came over to explain that when they are there the music will be loud and the lights will be low. This same bar tender was also talking super loud and telling the entire bar about his person business and rolling his eyes at guest. Absolutely not a business I'll support again.

My boyfriend and I decided to visit R bar for happy hour one day because it was just a couple minute walk from my apartment! We arrived around 5:20 and were able to get a seat right away. We decided to order some appetizers to share since the happy hour deal on food from 3-7 PM is 20% off appetizers! We ordered the meatballs, the pulled pork fries, and the buffalo cauliflower. (We had ordered the Brussels sprouts as well, but the bartender never put the order in) The meatballs were our favorite dish as it came with four pieces of garlic bread to dip in the delicious tomato sauce surrounding the meatballs. The pulled pork fries were delicious as well. I do wish that instead of the mustard, they had some BBQ sauce over the top! The fresh garlic was definitely a nice touch though. The buffalo cauliflower was not the best dish I've had. The breading on the cauliflower was too thick and the coating soaked up so much oil. The only plus of the dish was the amount of buffalo sauce that was given for dipping. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size, so I was secretly happy the Brussels sprout order wasn't actually put in. I will definitely be back to try the spicy Mac n cheese and some other appetizers!

The outside seating with TVs is great. But that's kind of where the positives ended. Very very slow service. Brought the wrong drinks out and then claimed otherwise. No big deal, we'll drink it since it's close enough. Poutine was straight up bad. This shouldn't be allowed to be called poutine; the gravy is bad and there isn't cheese curds, just bad cheese. The Mac n cheese was ok, but nothing great. I wouldn't go back

Was a nice spot to go to after a good run went a few times with the downtown group but after seeing the owner on the news for his homophobic rant yea I'll def not be going back here. Plenty of other places around the area. Food was not even all that great and the drinks weren't even cheap. Go anywhere else besides this place.

This review isn't for the bar itself - I like the bar. It's for the fact they advertised the fight tonight as "no cover" (see photo) - four of us got in 5 hours early to secure a table prepared to spend the entire night here to be told it's $10 a seat just to sit at the bar. That's a cover. We're gonna go bar hopping and order the fight at home instead! Still like the bar. But this is kinda shady.

What the heck?! Their keto menu??? They need to fucking advertise that shit. It is bomb! My friends just randomly invited me here with them, and usually I just plan on getting a salad, but they had sooo many options! I got the tacos. I've already been back twice (gotten cheese enchiladas and empanadas-- both bomb!!) and introduced two more keto people. I really hope it's not a scam and the tortillas and beans are actually made out of reg ingredients The beans are seriously amazing, they say they are made out of eggplant, and they are just delish. Their carb counts are obviously wrong, I'm sure it uses all of your carbs for the day, but definitely worth it!! So freaking tasty.
