R Farmers’ Market & Kitchen - Review - Avon - Vail - The Infatuation

"Part café, part gourmet market, this bright and bustling spot from chef Riley Romanin (ofHooked) is Avon’s new go-to for fresh, local flavor. Stop in for a flaky croissant and espresso in the morning, or a lunch of housemade sandwiches, salads, and soups built around produce from R Farm in Eagle. Shelves are stocked with local goods, meats, and artisanal treats, so you can take that bit of farm-fresh taste home with you. This is where valley locals actually shop and eat." - Kim Fuller

Do Not, I repeat Do Not Miss this place. They have an amazing menu for breakfast and lunch almost all from scratch including breads, pastry, and they even cure most of the deli meats. My mouth is still full of flavors. They also have an amazing market with dry aged meats (they whole butcher animals right on premise). Service was great and an amazing place for any die hard foodie. If you you are on a budget they have amazing mini-sandwiches for only $6. Cannot wait to come back.

Great place to stop and eat lunch. They offer freshly squeezed orange juice, great burgers, and plenty of other options to choose from. I opted for a hot lobster roll and French soup. This place is great. They also offer a butcher shop, and I highly recommend buying meat and seafood here. It is so fresh and delicious.

Drove by on a Sunday evening, right as they were closing up and locking the door. The gentleman waved me down and offered to re-open the shop if I needed something. I told him that we were shopping for later in the week and we would come back. We stopped in Friday evening and the same person hand cut 7 steaks that were incredible. He also made us one burger! The prices were very fair. If you’re looking for high quality meat and great service in the Avon area, look no further!

Premium meat selection, including an impressive locker of dry-aged beef. The service was friendly and was able to provide advice on what I needed for my meal goals. Conveniently located across from a larger grocery store, but get your meat here.

This place is so good and everything you want in a local bakery/breakfast/lunch spot! We’ve been visiting beaver creek and Avon for years and always struggle to find a good breakfast restaurant, but R Market filled the gap. I got the valleycat breakfast sandwich and my husband got the avocado toast and fresh orange juice and it was all delicious and affordable. They’ve done an amazing job on the vibe as well. Highly recommend!

We were a party of 4. 3 of us ordered sandwiches and was told that they were fresh. These were sandwiches that had already been made not freshly made. Work was being done on the kitchen. We took them home. There are no words the disappointment.....not only was the sandwiches stale, there were no condiments on the sandwiches and extremely expensive one could have bought a better sandwich at Subway for half the price!

Having known the owner for the majority of my life, I am so happy for him and his family for what they’ve created in the valley we grew up in. Riley is an exquisite, down to earth businessman who knows what the Vail valley needs for their restaurant options and fabulous food choices. We had a lovely lunch and will be back for more. Riley saved us a homemade strawberry shortcake with fruit from his own harvest. This spot is a gem and Riley is honoring the history of what this space was in the past and you’d be missing out on so much if you don’t pop in, even for a small and freshly made sandwich or pastry!

This is a packed, literally way too many tables crammed into a very tiny space. People couldn't get in or out of their seats. Good or bad, depends on how you look at it. Our food was not bad. The reuben is not a typical reuben. It is a smoked, shaved meat with a strange 'thousand island type' tasteless dressing. You wanted to keep eating it to try and figure it out and then ultimately not satisfied and disapppointed. If you have a reuben on the menu make it a reuben. There is so much wasted space for items you can purchase but honestly you are so packed in and it is so loud that all you want to do is get the heck out of there. I hope the Owners figure it out because as locals we want them to make it work.
