Google
Truly some of the best veg and melons I've had. Really great to visit a working farm and find some really interesting veg I hadn't tried before.

They have closed for good. We will miss Mr. Kelly and all this hard work and knowledge. 32 years of what started was a hobby. fantastic organic produce and great prices. I have been known to by 10 Savoy, senate and black watermelon in a week. Then eat them all. Not to mention the purple hull peas, okra and his staff. I hate to see him retire but he deserves to rest. Thank you Mr. Robert Kelly for all you time, effort and success. Thank you Sir. It's your time.

Very competitive prices on fresh farm-to table produce. Order online for pickup, or schedule U-pick time. Very helpful, friendly personnel. African American owned business.

I travel all the way from Arizona to get black eyed peas and cranberry beans the best and freshest I have found I pray Mr Kelly will be able to continue growing them so I can continue to make my trip to the farm

Beautiful drive and serene scenery to view. Yelp
It's always nice to come get FRESH fruit and veggies grown on a farm. The employees are very friendly. They have a good selection and they even offer (You Pick). You also get a relaxing and beautiful drive by the River on your way to the farm.

Yelp
I don't come here often to the farm, but today I went and spent three hours in the field picking my own beans. Different assortments of beans, from wax beans, black eye peas, and many others growing in the field as you walk around picking. Spending little to much as time you like to pick enough beans for yourself. They will come and pick you up in a wagon assortment vehicle and you take your beans to get weighed. As well if you don't like going out in the field to pick your own beans and stuffs. You can purchase the by the pound amounts of either beans, peppers, hot peppers, onions, huge garlic, and many other veggies that are available. I enjoyed my time thanks again. I had no issues at this place. Just location wise is far.

Yelp
Best farmstand in the area. Fantastic quality, great prices, and the Kelley family are really friendly, welcoming folks. Also I love giving my business to a Black owned business that's been part of the Sacramento area community for several generations! My kids love to pick veggies here and visit the farmstand - we've had picnics here a few times and always stop when we're going along the river road.

Yelp
I have known about this place for years and we finally made it out there today.. I know most people go to pick their own veggies and we could see lots of people doing such. The farm is pretty large and for this trip we just bought some pre-picked stuff. The produce is fresh and the prices are good. I have a good sized garden so much of what was offered I didn't need. Bought corn and beans.Next time we will pick our produce.

Yelp
It was a hot Sacramento day but there were nice breezes to make you forgot how hot you were. The venue was very nice fir a picnic and, if you like southern varieties of beens (black eyed, purple hull, crowder), you can get them here. They also had a variety of melons, tomatoes, peppers, and 2 kinds of okra - all grown on the farm. If you're in The Delta, stop on by. Check the website for availability.

Yelp
I'm a white dude. And I like stuff. So naturally I read StuffWhitePeopleLike.com. You know, to check in and make sure I'm true to form, sticking with the main stream, on top of the latest wacky stuff white people like or are embarrassed about, etc. I noticed an entry about picking fruit (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2010/03/14/132-picking-their-own-fruit/), and I realized that aside from gardening and growing my own veggies at my last house, I hadn't yet gotten out there and voluntarily picked my own food. Aw crap! My girl to the rescue. Without me even saying anything, she finds R Kelley Farms online and tells me, "wouldn't it be fun to go pick our own tomatoes? I could make ketchup! Can our own Marinara sauce!" See single guys? This is why you need a woman in your life. To suggest ideas to do stuff you'd never even consider doing on your own, AND frame them as fun! On the other hand... Home made marinara sauce from fresh picked veggies? The fastest way to my heart is clearly through my stomach. So, off we go. From the Midtown area to the farm, middle of a weekday, is about 25 mins; it's about even with Elk Grove. The last leg takes you along the levee of one of the rivers (The Sacramento itself? Not sure), and is actually a pretty nice drive. Hang a left at the R Kelley Farms sign and you're there. Head down the gravel road to the first cluster of buildings and you'll see a big metal shed building. Pick up a bucket there to go pick tomatoes, peppers, eggplant or okra, located about 20 yards away. Or wait for a tractor to come pick you up to head out to a farther field for other fruits and veggies--I'm not sure what as we didn't do this--but they have a bunch of different beans and melons, as well as corn, for sale in that shed as well. Initially the gal working the shed was a little stand-offish, but as we talked with her about how to prep the black-eyed peas or the cranberry beans (similar to pinto beans), she got really friendly and personable. And she gave me a new watermelon free when I accidentally dropped one of ours (2 for $4 at time of writing, mid-sep), as well as some pointers on how to choose a good watermelon. We got several pounds of tomatoes, peppers, beans, as well as a pound of jalapeños and two watermelons. Total spend? Just under $20. Maybe a gallon of gas to get there and back, and about an hour and a half of together time, including a nice drive? And you know what? She was right. It was fun.

Yelp
I love this place. Starting most July's. They have blackeye peas, purple hulled peas, cranberry beans and okra. Robert Kelley is very knowledgeable about farming and a pleasant spirit. Cut is 1 hour away but worth the drive.

Trish T.

Yelp
They have the best watermelons ever! I came this year again, but didn't check their website, so unfortunately I didn't get to get my any watermelons this year. The watermelon that I got from here two years ago were so red, juicy, and sweet!

Yelp
We discovered R. Kelley Farms this year and it is a gem! It was great fun to be able to pick your own veggies and R. Kelley Farms has such a wide range of veggies, it is just unbelievable. Our favorite are the purple okras, the eggplant, the fresh multi-colored bell peppers and the beans are good too. Late July to August, we get to enjoy R. Kelley's wonderful melons. They are sweet and fragrant, can't get them anywhere else. Thank you so much Mr. Kelley for giving us such a wonderful experience and we have been back ever since. We are vegetarians and this farm is our paradise!

Yelp
I hesitated writing a review for this hidden gem. I like to keep my pot of Gold a secret, but I know many people will benefit from visiting the farm. Fresh fresh produce, pick what you want or buy from the daily picks in the shed. Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0rBJMNMha0 and decide for yourself. Employees were very helpful in educating me on different varieties and the how to prepare. Why not put excitement in your life? try cooking something new? This place is wonderful, I will definitely be back next summer.

Yelp
Love this place! Service is good and the fresh picked fruit and vegetables are great!

Yelp
Only about 20 minutes from downtown, this wonderful farm is like stepping into another world as is the whole Delta( hope it is all not destroyed by Jerry Brown's tunnels- thats another story) ..anyway stoppped at R kelley yesterday brought home delicoous sweet melons, juicy red tomatos and what may be the best salt and pepper( mixed white and yellow kernels) I have had in years..what a great place this is and how lucky we are to have it so close by!

Sue W.

Yelp
Ron and his staff do a great job and the produce is always fresh and affordable. The melons are the best and are types that are not available in stores.
