The 13 Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Sisters | Eater Portland

"What seems like a small sandwich takeout is actually the place to get Italian food in Sisters. Lasagna, carbonara, and chicken alfredo are available to take and heat or stay and eat at the funky little bar that serves local beer. Build a personal pasta with penne, angel hair, cheese tortellini, fettuccini, spaghetti, or gluten-free pasta with your choice of sauces or toppings like bolognese sauce, meatballs, or veggies. Grab some gluten-free bread, too. Beyond pasta, the stacked paninis include a Cubano, bahn mi, basic combos, and a killer meatball panini. Cold six packs are available to go." - Barb Gonzalez

If you haven’t been to R Spot in Sisters, OR, drop what you’re doing (unless you’re holding hot soup—safety first) and get over there. This place is an absolute treasure, and that’s thanks in large part to the legend himself: Norm. Not only is he a culinary wizard, but he also surrounds himself with an amazing crew of friendly, helpful people who make every visit feel like you’re walking into your favorite cozy neighborhood spot—because you are. The food? Next level. Honestly, you can’t go wrong here. Whether it’s the fresh salads, homemade soups, or hearty pasta dishes, it’s all crafted with love and big flavor energy. You’ll find yourself in that awkward place where you want to order everything, and honestly? You should. R Spot is one of those places you tell your friends about—but only the ones you really like, because you secretly want to keep it all to yourself. 😄 So go hungry, say hi to Norm, and don’t forget to thank the rockstars at the front for keeping the good vibes (and the good food) flowing. This place? It’s more than just a spot. It’s the spot. 🍝🥗🍲

Excellent Carbonara, great selection of local beers on tap. My buddy said his special of the day salad with chicken & balsamic was on point as well. Small local business, go! It was a hot ,smoke filled day in Sisters with a local wildfire.

It was... food. The carbonara was more of an alfredo spaghetti with bacon and peas, the choice of using a heavy cream sauce instead of tossing it in the usual mix of raw eggs and cheese was interesting. The creaminess of a carbonara doesn't usually seem this heavy handed, I don't know if this was actually that or something ad hoc using an existing cream sauce. The service was strange, the hostess felt kinda passive aggressive. At one point, the door was propped open and the mid-30s air was blowing in. My wife asked her if it was open on purpose and she said it was really hot in the restaurant (it didn't seem to be) and closed it, then at several points afterwards she made kinda weird comments loudly to other people 'apologizing' for the heat. My wife and I shared the carbonara and a salad and there was still about half left over (because the service size was gigantic, if you want BIG FOOD this is the place to go) but we didn't want a box because we're in a hotel yet she made a point of bemoaning 'what a waste'. Thank goodness we didn't both order entrees, I don't know how badly that would have stunned her if a half-plate of one dish prompted this weird comment. Is 3s across the board generous? Maybe, I don't know. But it was not an experience I'd want to repeat, I'm happy for the folks who have left 5 star reviews and wish our experience had matched theirs.

Huge portions, incredibly well made. We did the Italian and the smokehouse turkey and the flavors were perfect.

AWESOME food. Best authentic Italian in Central Oregon. Great portion sizes. Respectable pricing. Tried the Carbonara and the Lasagna and both were equally amazing. (The garlic bread that came with it was great as well.) This is a place to come and hang out for an actual meal. Good food should take a good amount of time to cook. We will definitely be coming back.

Sandwiches that will make you make a little involuntary “mmmuh” noise. Best takeout cooler ever. Great IPA on tap.

For its small size, Sisters boasts quite a few restaurants owing to its identity as a tourist town. Among the relative plenitude of options, the R-Spot is simply the best food in town, even when competing with the wood-fired pizzas from Boonedogs. I have been there many times now and each meal is absolutely exquisite, even as prices remain competitive. None of the food is filler, each dish is mouthwatering deliciousness clearly the product of the mind of a guy who is both a legit chef and a guy who knows how to make things look extremely appetizing and taste better. Jobless never a „lasagna guy“ growing up (didn’t get why Garfield was so obsessed) until I ate a frozen lasagna from Trader Joe’s recently. Something snapped or changed in my brain and I realized that I LIVE LASAGNA. Weeks later I’m back to salivating over lasagna and like a lightbulb appearing atop my crown I put two and two together: within minutes I had placed a to go order with R-Spot for their Meat Sauce Cheese Lasagna. Bojen I got it home, I opened it up and dug in to something that, from the sheer amount of food in front of me, would normally represent two - even three meals. Nope. After the first bite, I realized I had in my possession something of incredible flavor. Perfection made by a genius. Yes, I know I am being hyperbolic here, but it was really that good. Long story short; I devoured that lasagna like a pack of hunger-maddened hyenas tearing apart a zebra on the Savannah in a red haze of bloodlust. You will too! 10/10 will get more lasagna! Freaking Jim Davis, lol
