This place has some of the best meats in the city. Their burgers are absolutely fantastic, and are certainly restaurant quality. They also have a good variety of meats. You can order online or shop in the store which is basically a big refrigerator. I highly recommend!

Great prices on high quality meats. Carnivore paradise with helpful and knowledgeable staff. We particularly like Bill's advice about meats and preparation/cooking. They also offer delivery to many areas. Some unusual varieties and cuts not always available in supermarkets with much better prices than typical butchers

This is my second time ordering from Whittingham. I live down in St. Petersburg, Florida and love tenderloin tails, which are difficult to find locally. The tails I receive from Whittingham are absolutely delicious while the price is remarkable and very fair. The customer service people are the best in the business. Polite, helpful and cheerful!!! Dang! You don't get to type that everyday. Just received a new box and it made me hungry unpacking it!!!! I highly recommend this family owned business. They are the best.

Fantastic place with great atmosphere and professional butchers. Quality of the beef was top notch. I was able to place a special made to cut order and get in and out in under 10 minutes.

A couple of colleagues at work live near this establishment and heard me complaining about the fact that I couldn't find a place to get meat butchered. Instantaneously and simultaneously they exclaimed: "Whittingham's!" While this place is substantially larger than any butcher I'd ever been to, the service is second to none here, and the variety of offerings is straight out of an old school small town neighborhood butcher shop. The meat is fresh, the butchering done to order and was perfect and everyone was helpful.

This was my first time ordering from Whittingham Meat and the experience was beyond my expectations. The corned beef was phenomenal -- go with Patty Shea's brisket. You will not be sorry and there will be plenty to share. I had it delivered to my son's house and they were not home. I received a call from Helena to notify me and they were kind enough to deliver it to another address. It was off route and they did not need to accommodate but they did. That is service. I also ordered the prime steaks as a gift for my son and he is a snob when it comes to beef. His one and only comment "outstanding". Their delivery is free to Chicago suburbs and reasonable shipping fees elsewhere. Well I need to wrap this up as I need to order some steaks for me!!

Best butcher shop I've every bought from. I'm from CA and used to frequently have orders shipped. Unfortunately the shipping rates (not their control or fault) went from $60 to $225 so I cannot buy from them anymore, but they are still a 5 star business.

Killer Southside butcher shop. You can find what ever You need. Seafood, steaks, chicken, pork and ribs. Do not forget the Hog Wild hot barbecue sauce. This is an old School neighborhood fixture, You could meet anyone in the place. The weather is pretty amazing; pull out the grill & happy New Year.

Absolutely the finast meat and friendly expert butchers around! Smoked a 12# Prime Rib roast it was beautifully marbled and so tender you could easily cut my medium rare roast with a butterknife! You truly do get more that what you pay for here!

I'm surprised I've never reviewed Whittingham's Meat before now. I've been either going here or ordering delivery from here for 5 years now. Their meats are fresh and the prices are fair for the quality you buy. You can find a cheaper alternative but it won't be choice or prime. The last two years I order online and they deliver to my home the next day, free! Lots of choices for beef, pork, and poultry. The flash frozen fish filets are also very good. I can't recommend highly enough.

We love the smoked bacon, Waygu burgers, and sausage Pattie's. The filet mignon is also one of our favorites. They will deliver next day to your house at no cost. Try to Mafia Pork barbecue sause - it's fantastic. Go to their retail store for a great experience and selection of food.

We had purchased Bison burgers and they were the best burgers we ever had. I cooked them on a flat iron grill.

We received these steaks from our neighbor's after we watched their dog, Dolly for a week. And she was a pleasure to have at our home. The steaks are so tender and lower fat than groceries store steaks. I cooked them inside with onions and mushrooms and they were amazing.

Neat little hole-in-the-wall place just off Pulaski Road on 127th Street in Alsip...well worth the trip. While I suspect they make their bread and butter serving bigger commercial customers, they are open for select hours during the week for the public to come in and partake in the same wonderful selections...and what selections there are... First of all this is a beef house. While they have pork products and put up a passing glance at chicken products, they specialize in beef. They have beefy stuff all over the place. The one caveat here is that you usually have to buy in quantity. While you can buy a vacuum sealed filet or two or even a pair of lamb shanks, they are better at selling the whole prime rib section for those that really want to beef up. They will cut it for you anyway you wish, and they wrap everything very nicely...but you are still buying a whole rib section for $200 or so...so keep quantity in mind. Same goes for New York Strip Steaks they can cut from a section, etc. This is not a place you come into to get a 1/2 pound of ground beef...but if you are talking a minimum 5 pounds or so, come on in. The staff working the weekends are very nice...they'll help you out with selections, ideas, and suggestions. Use them as they really know the business. Once again...anything you want that you don't see...let them know and they can get it for you in a day or so for pickup. While this place is not inexpensive, it is worth the price for what you get.

Went to Whittinghams today for the first time!!Such a nice group of gentlemen. Polite. Helpful. And Kind! The store was spotless and not a thing out of place. I loved that every box & shelf was labeled with what was inside AND the price. No guessing what the price would be. Ill be back for sure 8/10 people recommended WHITTINGHAM's!! I can see why!!!

Old fashioned butcher, we need more of these types of stores with quality products and knowledgeable staff. Recommend the flank steaks and filet mignon. Great place. Take a number when you enter.

When you come here make sure to grab a ticket in the lobby. If you don't grab a ticket they will not ring you up. This applies even if you have no intention of ordering from the meat counter. Whatever... Anyway, the meat here is awesome. It's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. It took me many years of buying meat from chain grocery stores before I came in here and purchased REAL MEAT. The big guy seems to run the place and he knows everything about the meat and the prices. The other folks? Not so much. Here's an idea: Use the old fashioned price guns and price all of the items in the coolers (stickers). The guys who write up the tickets (except for the big guy) waste so much time walking back and forth looking at the prices on the shelf tag. I was recently overcharged as the guy wrote the wrong price down from the shelf tag. I know he wasn't trying to rip me off he just made a mistake. Again, use a price gun and this isn't going to happen. Plus the staff will be more efficient. Quicker and more efficient transactions mean more people being serviced so more spots are left for other customers in the lot to come in and spend their money. See how that works? I buy my filets, burgers, and hot dogs from Whittinghams. They are awesome. The chain store stuff is garbage. Pay a little more and get a lot more. P.S. Wear a hoody or a jacket. This place is cold.

Great quality, quick delivery, most items already vacuum sealed. Only potential downside is that the food is delivered in a cardboard box at a refrigerated temperature so since they didn't give a delivery day or time window, it could be bad news if you're not home and food sitting out on a hot day. I work from home so it wasn't a big deal.

Was pretty decent till they decided to gouge their customers because of the pandemic. I get supply/demand, but would of hoped a small business I'd supported for years would of stood by their customers during these hard times. THIS is why these large corporations are winning. At least Costco had some compassion for their customers and didn't gouge them for ANYTHING once the hoarding started!

What a great first time experience. Bill couldn't have been nicer. Answered all my questions and made some great recommendations too. Found some great all beef jumbo franks, a killer looking bone-in ribeye and had to try the gourmet bacon. Be sure to come in with a jacket, as you're walking into a cooler. Skies the limit on price for select speciality meats, some great exotic sausages too. I look forward to my next visit and hopefully we'll be ordering a prime rib for Christmas.

Usually I don't review anything that I buy. just read reviews of others, but this time....I couldn't wait to write a review! Butcher shops in my area don't even come close to Whittingham's Meats!!! They have Wonderful products and Excellent Customer Service! My family is still talking about the dinners I've made with their products! I would recommend giving them a try as they now have a loyal happy customer.

Exceptional Quality and great variety of meats. I use to send meats from that company located in Nebraska to friends and relatives at Christmas. I switched to Whittinghams and everyone commented on the better quality from Whittinghams.

Recently ordered some USDA Prime. Solid customer service on the phone. The website is easy to use and powered by Shopify. Pricing is comparable for items purchased through other vendors. Then the Checkout...Free shipping ? Sure! Why not? Taxes 10% total. Whatsup? BTW- pickup at shop is the same pricing. 6.25% for the state 1% for Alsip 2.75 for Crook County Tax rates are perplexing and concerning. Isn't this a retail establishment with fresh products, Not a restaurant? *There is no FREE lunch, but most folks understand delivery fees.

I adopted my dog from Animal Welfare in Chicago Ridge, so I am subscribed to their facebook page. Today I logged on and saw that Whittingham donated 3,000 POUNDS of meat to the animals who are in desperate need of it at AWL. THANK YOU Whittingham, for helping out those sweet babies!!! I will for sure be heading to your store very very soon!!

Great quality meat. Bought a brisket this past weekend last minute because I didn't feel like driving into the city to one of the meat packers. A great option for the far south side.

Cold day in hell before i return, was standing in line for quite some time, and simply because i didn't have number they refused to serve me.

I have been coming here for more than 30 years. The current environment and the service they provide are a great comfort. The delivery, service, and products offered are consistent and second to none. I used their service three times so far during the Covid crisis for my mother and they have been on the mark each time. The process for ordering, payment, and delivery are seamless. The people performing the delivery are considerate and carry the order up to the second floor. It is a pleasure to continue doing business with them.

We have used Whittingham meat, for 35 yrs, intermittently and my dad even before that. Back then I would order a sirloin and they would even carry it out to your car. Nicest people! Never had anything but A+ meat!Ordered meat last night, surprised they deliver now, and it's already here before 11am! Awesome!

I am so very happy to have found Whittingham Meat Company. They have a variety of packages available for a variety of price points, and they deliver! The quality of the filet mignon, the pork ribs, the beef burgers, boneless skinless chicken breasts are phenomenol. I love the fact that the filets are individually vacuum packed as it makes dinner so easy. The meats are trimmed to perfection, moist, and delicious. They have this groovy barbeque sauce that you can get on certain packages that takes grilled meats to the next level. And they also have terrific salmon filets. On our most recent order we also got the 5 feet of sausage that arrives in an impressive single piece! It was so good tonight in a cabbage, potatoe, onions, and carrot dish - at least a foot of it was.

Whittingham Meat Co is a top notch butcher, who was creative enough to create Covid 19 boxes. The quality of meat is excellent. The price per pound rivals any of the large grocery stores, and their customer service is second to none. When we have finally pushed through the Covid 19, I will continue to buy from Whittingham Meat...for their quality, and value!

My family ordered the "Corona Care Package" & it is one of the better decisions I have made during this pandemic. A lot of meat & it is all quality! We have 5 meals planned out for the next week & I haven't been this excited since Christmas. I couldn't recommend this deal more + the delivery came within a day, great service!
