Best old fashioned I’ve had in a while. Great music and such a lively establishment. I had been wanting to check out and super impressed hope to visit again soon.

Had a great time here. Our bartender was Joe and he was awesome! We got free crawfish with the purchase of a drink. All the drinks we had were great, but the sandia and dama were especially yummy. Bathroom was clean and they have free parking across the street. Def would come back.

It's a cozy atmosphere with a very cool vibe. When the weather is nice, the patio is awesome. They run plenty of specials, both food and drinks. You might catch a seventy five night shot special or free crawfish. You never know what you might stumble into. That being said the drinks are A little more expensive than some of its competitors. And that may be okay, for some, if you really appreciate the atmosphere. However, the practice of adding an automatic 20% gratuity to the check and not telling the patrons Is not cool. You're having a great night. The bartenders are taking care of you and you want to show a little love at the end of the evening but you end up unknowingly tipping 40%+. You can still build in the charge, just tell people when we're paying the bill. The wings are good. The tacos are basically a big greasy Shell. But after a few drinks, they are delicious lol.

A happy quiet neighborhood hole in the wall. Good coffee/tea menu. Simple selection of pasties. Really friendly folks behind the counter. I plan to return in warmer weather and spend plenty time on the outside area.

The place itself is small, cozy, and has good prices. I’ve been here before and really liked the idea of being able to choose the music from the tablet — it’s a nice touch. However, last night we had a very unpleasant experience with the bartender, Sheryl (the pink-haired bartender). We were a group of 9 people (the bar was almost empty) and ordered drinks as usual. One of my friends asked for the tablet to play music, just like she had done on a previous visit. When she put on a song, the volume accidentally went up for a few seconds, but she immediately lowered it and apologized. Sherry’s reaction was completely unprofessional — she came over visibly upset, spoke to us rudely, and even snatched the tablet out of my friend’s hand. As a business owner myself, I understand mistakes happen, but what matters is how you handle them. A professional response would have been something like, “No worries, we’ll control the volume from here,” rather than showing hostility toward a group of new paying customers. The situation was so uncomfortable that after that first round, we decided to close our tab and leave. Our group went to another bar where we easily spent over $1,000. It’s unfortunate to lose that kind of business over such poor customer service. To be clear, the venue itself is nice, but the bartender’s attitude really ruined the experience. I hope management takes note, because customer service is key to helping a bar grow and keep loyal clientele.

Great spot. Service was great. Cucumber water shots were amazing! Had a really good old fashion. Music is dope. Definitely will come back and bring more friends!

Small but cute little bar. Drinks were pricey but that's expected for cocktails. Bartender was very friendly. Free hot dogs on the specific day I went. Outdoor seating and plenty of parking across the street.

This bar is a well-oiled machine! Everything from the decor to the drinks is excellent and exceptional. They had the most flavorful crawfish. Sophie, the bartender, made me a mojito and la dama, and both were delicious. There's also a coffee menu for earlier in the day. I'm definitely going to try that next time! I've been to both locations in Houston, and they are more than meets the eye, and both have really cute (and clean!) bathrooms! I went for the live music by Floyd Bauler, and he rocked. The entire crowd was singing along. He even brought a girl to tears with his emotional songwriting. It. Was. Beautiful.

Great drinks. The bartender was amazing, I wish I asked her name. I was happy we stopped by. I love that they have a front patio as well as an indoor space. Very cute on the inside as well.

Baby TERRIBLE. I went for Drake night and obviously they oversold. I do believe we were given re-bottled Don Julio because it wasn't great. I will NOT be back.

From the outside looking I would not have know this place was a bar. I thought it was a tire shop haha, but once you go inside, it's a vibe. The decor is cool and they have music playing, its nice. To drink I got the Chiquita (blue pina colada) and my friend got the Tamarindito. The chiquita was very tasty, it was a great for being on the rocks. I loved whatever they used for the rim. The tamarindito was perfect for my buddy but not for me. It was a bit too smokey for my taste. We saw a lot of people ordering the espresso Martinis, so we wanted to give them a try as well. The espressos here are different than any espresso I've had in the past. The espresso martini here have a cinnamon taste to it, similar to Mexican hot chocolate. It was tasty The place was pretty popping on Saturday, seems like a lot of regulars come out here to drink. I like that, it gives a sense of community. FYI they charge 20% automatically and you can find parking in the lot across the street!

The bar itself is nice -- cozy spot with good prices. But our experience with the bartender, Sherry (pink hair), was really disappointing. We were a group of 9, ordered drinks, and one friend accidentally turned the music up for just a few seconds before lowering it and apologizing. Instead of handling it calmly, Sherry got upset, spoke to us rudely, and even grabbed the tablet out of my friend's hand. The vibe went downhill fast. We closed our tab after the first round and left. The place has potential, but Sherry's attitude ruined the night.

Came here for their "free" crawfish. Is something really free when you have to buy something to receive it? When you buy a drink, you get free crawfish to go along with it. Understand that you get what you pay for, so don't expect the crawfish to be top tier. The drinks on the other hand were delicious and strong. Just how I like them! The atmosphere was nice as well, other than the three LOUD, drunk females that were singing at the top of their lungs. But hey.. it's a bar and they were having a good time, so. There's not a lot of seating area inside, but they do offer patio seating as well, so that's a plus. Parking is available across the street in a dirt lot and along the street in front of the bar. Luckily when I got there it wasn't too packed, but as the night went on, it filled up. All in all, would I visit again? For sure. It's a pretty cool spot.

I felt cheated. My drink was not full and the music was extremely loud. Expect to have tip included -- 20% is automatically charged as tip. I was with a party of 3. When I mentioned that I wasn't given a full drink, the bartender just said "it's still as good though". But honestly it wasn't. I just finished it because it was a $16 drink

Cute little hidden gem bar close to downtown. Went at a time when it wasnt busy and service was good. Definitely ranks in one of the top craft cocktails I've had in the city. No food was available at the time we went so it was a quick stop. I'd def come back though.

I can't stop raving about this place! Our food was amazing and on weekends they offer free crawfish with a purchase of a drink or two shots and a beer! Both drinks and crawfish were amazing!! We also bought wings and fries as well and they too were good! Very quant and nice ambiance, would definitely come back! Our bartender Christian was amazing!!! Recommended drinks, was friendly and overall great service

My friends and I were looking to try out a new bar in the downtown area, and we stumbled across this little hidden gem. It really was a little hidden as we drove by a few times just to make sure we were at the right place. There's a unpaved parking lot across the street or you can street park. I'm gonna be honest and say the surrounding area is a little sketch. Walking up, we didn't even know which was to enter, but the taco vendor outside told us where the door is. Walking in, our apprehensions quickly went away! The place was nice and clean, and neatly decorated. The music was on point and the overall vibes were great. The two gentlemen behind the bar were effortlessly handling the constant drink orders and doing it with a smile. From the outside, you would never think that this place serves expertly crafted cocktails. I started off with an espresso martini and it was very good. Not too sweet with coffee being the star of the drink. We watched as they brewed the espresso and made the drink. It was even nicely presented. Between my friends and I, we basically hit all the cocktails listed and every single one was great. We also had food from the guy outside which was also delicious. This was a very fun bar that I would not hesitate to come back to!

Hands down one of the best little bars in Houston. If you're a gal who loves to dance, this is the spot. I love coming here to get the night started. Oh and they make great drinks! Bartenders aren't trying to over pour to get you drunk. Lots of finesse and artistry put into their cocktails.

Francheska is the bartender of choice! Yes it is next door to a auto shop. Look for the rabbit with antlers! Its your vibe trust me!

My girlfriend and I came for our friend Latenite's DJ set here on a Friday night! We didn't know what to expect given it was our first time coming out here, But I am so happy we came with some room in our stomachs. The restaurant/bar is 21+ but had no cover. As soon as we walked in there were 2 bbq style vendors serving up tasty bites so we knew our tummies would be taken care of. We ordered a loaded brisket waffle plate prepared with nacho style toppings and condiments. It was super heavy, savory, and delicious. The cook told us their large ($22) was enough for 2, but bro, it fed me, my girlfriend, and even a few of our other friends had some bites! Great value. When our friend's DJ set started we went inside to support, drink and dance. For being such a small bar I was not expecting the cocktails to be so damn good. I ordered the purply Taro cocktail (La Sancha $13) and my girlfriend had her espresso martini for a pick-me-up. They were both amazing. I let friends try my cocktail and they all loved it! The creaminess, subtle sweet taro, and chilled mix was a very good blend. One of the best cocktails I've ever had but not very strong. I had maybe 3 of them and another cocktail (La Dama) but still felt like I was only 1-2 drinks in. Overall the whole experience was amazing. I think this is a good bar for a party scene with good bites outside. The music was very inner city rap, some hip hop, and pop music. Shout out latenite!

Jammed in between a tire shop and another building near N Main st is this if you blink you'll miss it gem. During crawfish season these champs can shell out 800-1000lbs worth of crawfish all for the free. FREE IS ME! Now hang on before you ask what's the catch, beer and crawfish go hand and hand so for sure purchase a couple of beers and 1 shot and you're guaranteed to get ask much crawfish in you until they're cleaned out. The sizes the had were average, their flavorful for the soak they used is like nothing I've had before and it's great that it tastes great inside and out the shell, good size, and welcoming atmosphere. The owner (minus his brother) were genial despite being overwhelmed and under staffed they pulled it off. 11/10 would recommend and will go again.

This place was pretty cool. We were a bit apprehensive, as the bar located in a seemingly not-so-great area, however, once we parked and walked in, we felt much better. The service was good, I appreciate the fact that even though there was only one bartender and there were a decent amount of guests, he still brought all our drinks to the table. I got the coquito and my partner got the espresso martini. I really loved the coquito, it was a classic taste and I also appreciated that they still had coquito being that it's almost February. My partner said the espresso martini is good but just too sweet being that they add 3 different flavored syrups. After that we got the cosmopolitan and the mango painkiller! The cosmopolitan was very good and the mango painkiller was awesome! I would definitely come back and recommend!

Love the ambiance and the service was top notch! We had a lot of fun with our girls group plus my husband! The drinks were fabulous!

Bought 4 drinks however the older female bartender only gave me 3 tickets for crawfish. When I asked for the other ticket considering I bought 4 drinks. She said I could only get 3. Instead of explaining why I got 3, she very rudely THREW the ticket at me and my party and said "here since it's such a problem" and walked off. All my drinks made after that were made by that same rude bartender which didn't taste as good as the first so I left. They also charge a TABC fee and 20% tip automatically. THAT SERVICE WAS NOT tip worthy! I will say the crawfish was very good though. The crawfish alone was the best thing about this place.

I love visiting this location during crawfish season. I brought a friend along with me to check out how cool the bar is and even talked him into trying the wings, which I also think are delicious! We had a few rounds of drinks and shots and enjoyed great conversation with Francesca. Her service was amazing. Being in that ambiance reminds me so much of what Houston is! Overall, I had a great time! I definitely see myself becoming a regular especially if the service is as great as my night with the bartender Francesca!

A chill neighborhood place earlier in the night. I have heard it can get pretty crazy and crowded on the weekends late into the night though Parking: There's street parking and a whole lot across the street. We had no problems but I imagine parking can get limited if the place is significantly busy. Drinks: I expected mostly just beers but they have quite a list of more indepth, fancier mixed drinks which was exciting! They also have frozen margaritas and wine as well. So there's quite a variety! Sadly they only had pineapple cider which was a disappointment to me personally. Seating: There's minimal seating inside but outside has quite a few picnic tables. For the size there seems to be plenty of seating plus the outside patio is dog friendly woo! Price: Margaritas were about $12 which was on the higher side based on the size of the glass. Topo chick's were priced quite a bit higher than other places as well. We definitely felt that the bill at the end of the night was quite a bit higher than other places but didn't feel like it wasn't worth it. Food: We went on Friday night and there was an awesome food truck there ! I'd definitely like to note some of the interior design/decor. It was pretty and someone definitely put thought into it. The bouncer was very no-nonsense and not particularly friendly. He did do pat-downs of the men when coming in.

Do people still yelp? Ok. I have been here 2 times. Each time was a completely different experience. Let's get down to it. Overall experience was great. The vibe is great. The drinks are top tier! The crowd is so diverse and friendly and the DJ spins hits!! The food trucks they have on site have been good. I cannot remember the trucks names but I am going to say that the food was clutch. Overall space is clean and tight. Didnt use the bathroom so I cant speak on that. The parking is small but it was available both times so I had no issues there. Now visit 1- service was amazing!! Absolutely no complaints. I sat at the bar and was served in a timely fashion no matter how many patrons arrived. It got pretty crowded towards the evening and I still have no complaints. Visit 2 started off so amazing. The first server was on it! When the next server arrived, things went down hill. I sat at the bar for this experience as well. Have you ever been ignored at the bar? 10 inches from the bartender??? When I say he would not acknowledge any woman, I am not exaggerating. I had to befriend a male to get any service!! He dragged the entire experience down. Now, dont let my second visit deter you. Just make sure that your server acknowledges you and if they dont, ask for another one. I wish I remembered his name. If I ever do, I will edit this.

What this rabbit hole I just stepped into?? An ambiguous building on the outside in an area I don't really frequent that often and yet so eclectic on the inside. When we first drove by and our GPS said 'you've arrived' it took me a minute to figure it out. But then we saw the rabbit door so we parked across the street and opted to go inside. What an interesting place this little gem is. Quite the mix of people and ages where scattered throughout the bar. There was lots of art to catch the eye as well. Plenty of seats at the bar or smaller tables by the window. Looked like a good amount of seating on the patio, but no one was out there when we went. Seems like they have food trucks at certain times as well (I'm going to figure that out for the next time we go). This little place has a mighty good drink menu. Our mixologist was really nice and even hooked us up with some tasty shots he whipped up. We had several rounds here and now I have my new cocktail spot before shows at White Oak! Bonus!! If you find yourself up this way, it's a must stop in. But really you should just go and check it out - get an Uber or Lyft and sample the many cocktails with good friends!

HOUSTON GEM! Love it here!! The environment is top tier. Amazing cocktails and They have such delicious wings! Also tried their crawfish and they were 12/10!!! So good!!! I come here to get work done, have a drink and eat. The people here are also cool. Bartender service is great! Highly recommend!!!

This is supposed to be a low dive bar where I went to meet up with some friends on a Wednesday night. When my friend and I went in in our work scrubs, the door guy insisted that we must be frisked. I've been to multiple bars in Near Northside, and this is the first time I've experienced this. Like that one Friends episode, he checked the balls twice, once in the front once in the back. My buddy only got his balls checked once but I'm much cuter. What was weirder was that he didn't check my buddy's backpack. Once inside, there was a house dj was mixing and the music was loud. The crowd was young, mostly Hispanic but I didn't see anyone that looked like they should be frisked. When I asked my friends inside whether they had been frisked. No, of course not. I can't recommend a place with that kind of cover. The service was nice. When I bought two beers the bill came out to 21 dollars since there was a service charge and also a charge for the house music. Maybe their customers are bad tippers too?

Good drinks. Old fashioned was on point. Quite a different mix of people here. It wasn't too crowded when we got there but after towards midnight there weren't any open seats or table left. Was a little strange that only one person in our party got patted down before letting him in.

A very low key bar located in a quiet neighborhood. Don't be fooled by the looks of the exterior, the interior is very nice and chic. My friend suggested their espresso martini and it was good! If you are not a cinnamon type of person don't order this drink but I didn't mind the taste since it was mixed with espresso and vodka. They had a hibachi food truck out front when we paid a visit. I hope to try them out the next time I pay this bar a visit.

Nice atmosphere and the bouncer has a great playlist. Drinks were good if a little pricey, but everything is a little pricey anymore. Enjoyed the vibe and outdoor seating.

We came here as one of my first in person stops after returning from living in Japan and was not disappointed. Decor/Location/Parking The location is unassuming and definitely not where one would expect. I love that aspect of it. There is parking across the street and a couple of spots available immediately out front if visiting after the shop next door closes for the day. The decor inside is cool and definitely speaks to the unique nature of the spot. Food/Drinks When we visited they were not serving food after their initial reopen, but I'll update this when possible. The drink menu is simple with a few solid options. The Near Northside Paloma was fantastic! Service When we visited it was only us and another group in the bar, but drinks were quick and no shortage of attention to ensure we were good with drinks. Pricing The drinks are what anyone would expect for a bar in the Houston region. Overall Fantastic and unpretentious bar that is definitely a hidden gem. I will certainly make more visits!

That needle in the haystack. First, if you're looking for a cheap drink - this isn't your place. On the other hand, if you're looking for a high-end cocktail, you hit the jackpot. We stopped by on a Saturday night - and were pleasantly surprised. Why? Well, from the outside, the place looks a little shady. When you go in, poof! You enter a well decorated, high-end cocktail bar. I tried an oaxaca old fashion as well as the pineapple daiquiri. Both of them were on point. After having a few drinks, we started to get hungry. At the bottom of the menu, you'll find the option to buy tacos. Yup, tacos. We ordered them. Then we ordered more -- and more. They were good. I also noticed that they have soft serve ice cream. I saw others order it -- it looked great, but I didn't want ice cream. To sum up, the place rocks. It is a hidden gem. It isn't cheap, but you get what you for. Highly recommend.

I have found Houston's next greatest neighborhood pub. Ian is the best landlord of a pub this side of the Atlantic. His mixology skills are unparalleled. I have been hunting for a place with a decent selection of bourbon and gin, whilst at the same time providing a halfway decent offering of beers on tap. Look no further. You guys are after my heart. If you like gin drinks ask for the northsider. You can't go wrong. If your hungry their tacos ain't bad. A few other nice snakes on the menu. I can't believe that they haven't even had their grand opening yet. All of the bartenders and servers here have been nothing but professional. I absolutely love it here and I know that you will too.

Update: recent advertisement of free crawfish from 2 pm - 2 am on Friday, 4/5. We showed up at 2:10 pm, left at 4:15, with no crawfish lol and also a $75 tab because 1. They charge a TABC fee, and 2. an automatic 20% tip for the bartenders. Make sure you check your receipts!! I can't lol.

This is a low key ducked off spot i truly love. The drinks are on point and amazing. I went on Sunday and they had a special of $5 margaritas all day. I had the frozen mango margarita, well several lol. The establishment is wonderful and has welcoming aura. Especially when it became dark the lighting set a whole vide. The owner is cool people and down to earth as well. Even bought pizza an offered some to people there including myself. In all had a wonderful time and I'll definitely be back here. The only thing that disappointed me was there weren't any TVs there. If they had those in place man this will be a even more chill spot to visit. Did I mention they have a taco truck on site and they off the chain. Don't take my word for it pull and and come on out they won't disappoint.

Shady barrio bar pretending its located in midtown. I've lived down the street from this bars location for 15+ years and was happy something cool like this popped up in the barrio, however, thats not the case anymore. I went for Halloween and a cocktail was listed as $15 on the seasonal paper menu, handed the bartender a $20 and he came back and told me it was $21 because gratuity and tax were already included. That makes no sense. 20% of $15 is $3 and 8.25% of $18 is ~1.48 so that's $19.48 which even if I wanted to give him a $3 tip why am I paying tax on it. The cocktail sucked, it had a bunch of ice in it and it was basically premixed so the bartender did no real service to make the drink. I handed him that extra $1 but guess what, I won't ever spend my money here again. This place has changed drastically since it started and is now trying to take advantage of people with these sneaky hidden fees. These fees don't even get printed on the receipt of card transactions and they'll still ask you to tip.

Cool place with a chill vibe. They have a small parking lot across the street so there's easy parking. We ordered a French 75 and a beer and enjoyed them on the patio. The French 75 was very well made. Would recommend checking them out if you haven't been!

Love this spot. In north side , chill, not a lot of people if you come during the week & great service! I hate going to overly packed/ crowded bars and this is a bomb spot!

It was a lot of fun at Rabbit's Got the Gun! I was digging the decor, music, ambience, and service, and of course cocktails. We went on a Wednesday night for a birthday. We were able to socially distance, staff wore face coverings, and there was plenty of hand sanitizer at the bar and entrance area as well. I will definitely come back and check out their food menu, patio area, and restrooms! Too bad I didn't have to use the ladies' room on my visit because a girlfriend told me the restrooms are worth checking out lol ;) FYI - It is located next to a body auto shop and there was some parking beside the bar and also ample parking across the bar.

Come on in! My fist time here and I am not disappointed. The bartenders are great. The atmosphere is a collection of atmospheres, for lack of a better explanation: fresh cut flowers, gangster rap over the speakers and beautiful, hops chandelier over the bar. Come on in and see for yourself! CHEERS!

Come here often and is one of my fav spots. The drinks are on point and love how chill it is. They have DJs come out which is enjoyable as well. They get busy but pump out the drinks ASAP! Very chill spot.

Amazing drinks, great service and did I mention the drinks!! Definitely stop by for a quick warm up, hot toteas or a quick pick me up with the espresso martini!

This is an unusual find, and that's saying a lot in a city like Houston. It might be best compared to a speakeasy, but that's maybe not fair? Lots of seating, interesting environment, but skip all that: go straight to the bar and order one of their specials. We literally raved about their espresso churro martini; follow us, we'll show you the way:) PS- Prepare for a bag check/pat down. You're in Htown, people.

Rabbit's Got the Gun is elevating cult favorites. Their cocktail list might not be very extensive but it is solid. I was impressed by the Near Northside Paloma & O'Banion Irish Coffee, I highly recommend both. What really sold me on this bar was the bartenders ability to concoct a "customized" drink for you on the fly based on your preference. Of course this was possible because it was a quiet Monday evening. Nevertheless they sure know their liquor and are willing to share their expertise in hopes you discover something new and unexpected. The photos do not do this place justice. The decor really is phenomenal. I love the brick walls, the clean cut counter, art on the walls and the objects scattered throughout. One of the bartenders mentioned they plan on offering full coffee service pretty soon. They are off to a great start, I can't wait to see what else they come up with!!

Stopped by Rabbit's Got the Gun on a Saturday afternoon. The cocktails were awesome and very creative. Each one had a different look and was prepared with care. The bartender was very attentive and was happy to give recommendations. Also, great and easy parking at the lot across the street.

Running late but they opened before we left. Small but very good drinks and willing to come up with substitutions and suggestions to accommodate drinking desires.

Came out with a friend last night to check this place out and it really is quite a place. Small but quaint. It definitely is something different. The art pieces gives the place a unique essence. The brick walls, the blue high top chairs, and the name of the place gives it an unexpected twist which works well. On the plus side for those who need their devices charged up at all times theres plenty of plug ins to charge your phones. As for the staff, I have nothing but nice things to say. I tried the Near Northside Paloma. It was refreshing and tangy but I liked it. I wasnt unsure what else to try so the bartender definitely asked what I was in the mood for: sweet, spicy, bourbon, tequila, etc. She made me something with tequila and just the right amount of spicy garnished with a cucumber and blackberry. I loved it.

We came here one night for a group outing. Its definitely in a part of town I don't frequent. This was a very pleasant surprise. The space is small, with quirky art on the walls and beautifully done paintings. The drinks were good, bartenders were more than nice. The crowd got pretty big and the staff handled it well. I look forward to coming back again.

A cute place with good service on a Friday at 9 pm. Cocktails are pretty average. Unique ingredients but somehow not unique flavors.
