"Each season, Rachel Comey designs at least one item that becomes an instant classic, worn at offices and dinner parties from Williamsburg to the Upper West Side. For years, she's been one of New York's most influential designers—and a sweetheart among local editors and buyers for her playful yet grown up pieces. We love the tongue-in-cheek Leanne Shapton painted flag outside this flagship—the influential art director is a good friend—and the breezy Charles de Lisle interiors that make a feature of the exposed wood slat ceiling. Where to Go Shopping in NYC | Condé Nast Traveler

"Slightly hidden from the Soho fray on an unassuming stretch of Crosby Street, the Rachel Comey boutique feels like an oasis. Comey's clothing is thoughtful and feminine but never prissy, beautifully cut, and texturally sumptuous. And the store itself is stunning: pebbled concrete floors, low-slung leather seating, and fitting rooms that look like they belong in a Milanese palazzo—a Milanese palazzo that got a particularly good mid-century renovation. If you're looking for a show-stopping party look, you've come to the right place." - Andrea Whittle

I’ve been obsessed with Rachel Comey for years—well-constructed, functional fashion speaks to me—but my bank account doesn’t always align with my taste (champagne taste, PBR pockets). That, combined with the occasional intimidation of walking into high-end stores, has kept me from shopping in person as often as I’d like. But my experience at the RC store on Crosby was delightful! RC truly hired a gem when they brought Gabby on board. She made me feel not only welcome but like I belonged in the space. Kind and thoughtful, she took the time to make a personal connection—something that feels like a lost art in retail these days. Though the sizes I needed were out of stock (lesson learned: don’t wait too long when RC drops the perfect pants), I walked away from the store feeling great. And now that I know I’ll be met with warmth rather than exclusivity, I’ll definitely be back—this time, for my first in-store purchase!

Absolutely lovely in here. Stylish clothes with high quality fabrics, kind and attentive service, relaxed experience- nothing pushy. May I add the great taste in store layout and decor especially that cool front door entrance and beam ceilings!

This is a great designer store and a wonderful shopping experience. I went there seeking out some sale items from their site and Cameron went to the trouble of pulling them from backstock. I then asked if there any other backstock items in my size and he pulled a really cool selection for me and gave my wardrobe a great boost. A new favorite place to go when my wardrobe is tired. Thanks, Cameron!

Made a bit of a pilgrimage to get here! On a trip to NYC, this shop had its own spot on the itinerary. The associates were lovely: friendly, helpful and fun. My husband and son had comfortable places to sit and we felt very welcome. I bought wonderful pieces and this shop was a very memorable spot on our trip to NYC - ranks among my favorite shops in the world! Thanks Rachel Comey xo.

At a time when Soho feels increasingly no different than a mall in any major city, Rachel Comey remains a super cool independent shop with differentiated design and top notch service. Highly recommended!

I adore the Rachel Comey clothing line: smart, well made (largely right here in NYC), and characterized by a sophisticated ease. The fabrics are keepers - and last from one season to the next- and you won't see yourself coming and going. The salespeople on Crosby Street are friendly, interactive, and invested in the customer experience. I go three times a year, buy three or four pieces each time, and wear those items more than any others in my wardrobe.

Love this store! And every piece of clothing so thoughtfully designed and well laid out. No overbearing sales people , helpful when needed . The store itself is gorgeous

Yelp
perhaps the only shop where many clothes are made in New York and remarkably designed. The staff was attentive and very helpful. I bought a flattering cocktail dress made in New York for a very fair price. compared to many fast fashion stores that have taken over Soho, Rachel Comey is a rare stop that should not be missed.

Yelp
Beautiful store and layout tucked onto a great block in SoHo, super helpful staff, fabulous clothes in great colors and textures.

Yelp
I love the Rachel Comey brand so much. The quality is unparalled and her designs truly stand the test of time. I have pieces from 5-6 years ago that I still wear regularly. I typically visit NY a few times per year and try to make it to the brand's Soho store when I'm there. The staff is awesome here and during my last visit had a particularly exceptional experience with Lucy who brought me multiple sizes of styles I loved and also suggested styles I hadn't grabbed (but also ended up loving).

Yelp
This is a such a timeless brand. I have shopped this brand for years and every time I find just what I'm in need of. The store is fun (good music and lots of items) and I also shop with them online, where I do most of my shopping. I love their style and a lot of their stuff I've had for years and keep re-wearing.

Yelp
I do really love Rachel Comey as a brand, the staff at this location on the other hand... Saturday when I went to check if the sandals I had been dreaming in were in stock, the two salespeople were less than welcoming. One grumbled hello. I found the sandals and told them my size and asked how the sizes ran. The guy didn't seem to understand the the girl bluntly stated that there was no size 8. She clearly could have coached him more or helped me herself. She didn't smile the entire time. As I tried the sandal they didn't seem particularly interested. I probably would have ordered the next size up but was too uncomfortable to stay any longer. The same sales girl has been extra friendly when I've been in with my sister, I think because my sister shops there a lot. I'm assuming their lack of politeness and attention is based on commission. I've been in 4 times. Once some friendly women were friendly. Three times this girl has been less than friendly. I hoped after reading the other poor reviews that going in with a positive attitude would give me a better experience. Too bad-

Yelp
I agree with the other reviewers. The salespeople in the store couldn't be bothered. I was the only person in the store, there were 3 salespeople and no one ever said hello or asked if needed help. When I finally asked for help with a size that was on the rack, one of the salespeople looked up, rolled her eyes and begrudgingly came over. I had seen something online and was ready to buy it but will never buy anything from here with this kind of service and attitude. And this type of attitude generally comes from the top so I'll be boycotting this brand for a while.

Yelp
I felt discriminated against when I walked into the door. Instead of someone to help me or talking to me, all the workers just watched me and my friend from afar. It's 2018, and I'm black. No I'm not gonna steal, I would have bought something but not anymore.

Yelp
Poor customer service, borderline rude. FYI they do NOT allow RETURNS and only give you STORE CREDIT with 14 days! Mediocre quality of materials and construction. Highly recommend avoiding any purchases directly from their company, at least if you order from SHOPBOP.COM you know you're covered.

Yelp
5 stars is for the clothes and shoes. Beautiful, classic and not your typical styles in a very very very good way. 1 star is for the service. Attitude is overrated. I asked the salesman for an 8--he brought me every size but and then seemed a little put off having to go back and get my correct size. You work here don't you know the fit? And I very much appreciate when sales people let you browse and they let you do that here which is nice. But then the oh so fake "oh those shoes look great, they are beautiful," like yeah duh, I know the clothes are nice. And with a bored tone. Makes me seriously second guess dropping $400 on shoes. Net: come for the style, stay away if you want genuine service or are just not in the mood for insincerity.

Yelp
One of my favorite shops in soho! Ask for Catherine she is truly amazing and will give you an honest opinion. They are on the more expensive side, but their clothes last a long time and don't get damaged easily. I have had a few tops and dresses from the brand for many years. I also highly recommend (and what they are most known for) their boots!

Yelp
On a recent visit from California, I made of point of scurrying over to R.C. to eyeball the new pieces. While the space and contents are amazing and inviting, the staff is NOT! It eludes me why such an important "detail" would be overlooked. Due to the consensus about unhelpful, uninterested, sometimes hostile sales staff, I am left to conclude that the rude/abrupt sales force is meant to be part of the elistist "allure"?

Isabel M.

Yelp
I love the all the designs and shoes. Rachel Comey is absolutely divine. Every time I go into this store the employees are rude and impolite. My sister and I were waiting for a dressing room, once we tried on clothes they did not check on us or say anything as we walked out. I would've purchased a jumpsuit and a pair of jeans, but because of their attitudes and lack of help in sizing I choose to walk out. I really do hope this issues regarding employees are resolved sooner than later because I will not be visiting the store. It's upsetting I really adore the clothes and brand, but I don't enjoy feeling unwelcome.

Yelp
I had a lovely experience and the sale selection was amazing. Very happy with my RC purchases

Anne-Marie K.

Yelp
Despite the reviews, I've been wanting to stop by RC for some time. I didn't think the brand would fit me, but I love the shoes. I was pleasantly greeted by a salesperson as soon as I walked in and greeted by another (I believe his name is Cameron) as I browsed, asking me if there was something I was looking for. Cameron helped me put together an outfit so great I wore it that night and part 2 of the outfit the next day. It is not aggressive sales help and I appreciate that. I love my clothes and my shoes and jewelry and I will be back.
