"When a talented chef from Rennes, Virginie Giboire, embraces her roots (or "Racines"), the result is pleasing, contemporary cuisine in the form of elegant dishes. Boasting an impressive wealth of experience (of which we will only mention her stints alongside Guy Martin and Thierry Marx who, she says, "taught her everything"), she delivers clever and well-defined cuisine that always hits the mark, proposed in a short menu. Interesting interplays of textures, subtle marriages of flavours, and always the finest ingredients, often from small-scale Breton producers. All served up in a lovely, bright and modern setting." - Michelin Inspector

"Chef Virginie Giboire returned to her hometown in Rennes to open her modern French restaurant Racines. Her signature dishes include monkfish with gnocchi and veal with Jerusalem artichokes, onions and sage." - Kenneth Goh

My favorite restaurant in Rennes! Amazing food, friendly staff, and a stunning view on the kitchen, where the skilled team moves like a choreographed ballet. A truly unforgettable experience!

The waitress only look and talk to my husband who is french when they explain things and one even put his back on me, maybe because i'm a foreigner and they think that i don't speak french?.. (fyi i speak french).. i love the decoration and the ambiance.. they have very good dishes overall, it's only we're not really fans of sweet cucumber dessert🙂

It is creative with nice waiters. The price is just like normal 1 star restaurant. However, it didn’t give me a lot of surprise.
