"This self-taught chef with Scottish roots can be relied on to turn out inventive and brilliant dishes that spurn conventionality; he changes his menu every week according to produce to be had at the market. Fresh and meticulous dishes, as in his sea bream marinated in a green herb infusion. The food is dependably delicious, and the restaurant, which calls to mind a modern bistro, is always full." - Michelin Inspector

Fancy and beautiful place. Staff were alright, had to wait a bit to order and just had the daily menu. Food was quality and very tasty. Really enjoyed it. The only drawback was that were were both very hungry at the end of the meal The main dessert was written 25 € each and we were asked for 30€ each bcuz they stated st Valentin was a holiday. Not cool to display that on their menu tho.

The ambience was very cozy and nice. The staff very friendly and kind. For the most part, the set menu was good- I especially enjoyed the trout with carrot and passionfruit. The appetizer haddock was a bit salty but okay. The dessert with apples and oats also had a very interesting texture. Would come again!

Very enjoyable restaurant with good food and service. I liked the concept of choosing meals for your 4/5/6 course menu. We tried everything and loved it. Desserts especially! Price are very reasonable and it’s a good value for money.

What a lovely find! We were in Bordeaux for a day of tourism, and we always like to find a nice place for lunch on such days. We were attracted to Racines as it had great reviews, a michelin bib and the fact the chef is Scottish...as a native of the North myself I couldn't resist! We weren't disappointed! The offering is a set menu with two options per course to choose from. I went for the "all about onions" for a starter and it was soooo delicious, who ever knew that a starter of onions could be so complex and layered with flavour! For main course we all had the venison which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a praline cream...oh my god...it was to die for. For pudding I had "agrumes et amandes", which when it arrived made me smile as it seemed to be modeled visually after a cheese sandwich on white sliced loaf and covered in sandwich spread...the taste was amazing, zesty and delicious! The three course lunch menu is 35 euros on Saturday and definitely worth the money given the quality of the food and the excellent service. We opted for the three glass wine pairing for 30 euros, also worth it, if like us you like to discover new wines rather than buying one bottle. Another point to add, we were there with our two kids (5 and 8), one had the full menu and the 5 year old had a cod main course, they were made to feel welcome and enjoyed the experience too. Thanks to the team!

Our party of 6 all loved the food and service. The 4 course meal was just perfect. Full of flavored. The ravioli and the chicken was so good! We also loved the desserts. We will responding be back next time we are in Bordeaux. Thank you for a great dining experience.

We booked today as we spotted on the Michelin guide - since experiencing Michelin food in the UK and how pretentious it is at times, when you just want good food.. we knew this place wouldn’t let us down. The staff are great with our basic French and their service was spot on, they were run off their feet and couldn’t do enough for you. The place was absolutely packed! I also liked the background story to this restaurant -!for the owner to leave Scotland for such a brilliant venture creating amazing food - we were impressed. The octopus was absolutely delicious, so much thought put into each amazing dish. Throughly enjoyed and would recommend for great food and great service.

Incredible food, and excellent selection of wines. Chef Daniel takes you on a food tasting journey that is above the rest. If visiting Bordeaux, make sure that you stop by Racine’s, you will not be disappointed. I am already planning my next visit.

Yelp
Playful simplicity. Excellent fresh produce in perhaps a French Nouveau style. Very light. Unlike the usual heavy fare. We rocked up a tad early after a bike ride in the countryside. Luckily scored a reservation. The menu is a fixed plate 3 or 4 course meal which is extremely affordable for a Michelin starred resto. The starter was a delightful small baked haddock fish cake. My entree of courgette carpaccio topped with beetroot and goats cheese was very summery with a slight sweetness. The chefs were very accommodating as my travel partner prefers vegetarian food due to her restrictive palate. They made an off menu polenta for her mains. My tuna steak was one of the best meals I have ever had. The palate cleanser of strawberry sorbet was sensational. Both desserts were brilliant. Recommended!

Yelp
Fantastic experience. Fresh ingredients with a small but intricate menu selection. Reasonable sized wine selection as well. Extremely well priced for the quality of the food and presentation. Personalized touch and very flexible with dietary restrictions. The service was lovely and the waiters were friendly and engaging. The owner/chef even came out to make sure that everyone was enjoying themselves and open to feedback. Best restaurant experience in Bordeaux. We had the pork Belly, scallops, beef fillet, trout, panna cotta, and chocolate mouse... all phenomenal!

Yelp
Great experience. Staff was great, nice and very helpful. Food was outstanding. Very unique and thoughtful. Not a big place. Maybe 10-12 tables, which made it very cozy. We were not pushed to finish our meal. Unique wine list which we enjoyed.

Yelp
Wonderful experience, helpful gracious wait staff. He recommended a wonderful reasonable wine, Pomerol. The food was exceptional, different flavors. Starters were particularly good. We were not rushed and it was a great dining experience.

Yelp
Thank you to Chef Daniel Gallacher and our wonderful waiter Cedric for a lovely evening and fabulous meal. This is our first visit to Bordeaux and we are so pleased that we were able to dine here. The delicious chocolate dessert will be a sweet memory that will stay with me forever! We had the three-course meal for 29€, which was a true bargain given the quality and preparation of the meal.
