I visited Racines and really enjoyed the overall experience. The ambience is very nice, and the service was warm and attentive. Love the bread, soft and warm. It goes so well with the butter and vinaigrette & olive oil. I tried the beef burger—the patty was juicy and the bun soft and delicious, though the sauce wasn’t quite to my taste. My friend had the crab fried rice, which was really good. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with good food and a great atmosphere.

We were at Racines on December 24th for Christmas dinner. The restaurant had a good number of people, which made serving easier. The buffet offered a variety of seafood, sushi, a noodle station, breads, meats, salads, and dessert. The red meats were very tasty and cooked to perfection. One star less for the service. After being shown to our table and receiving the house water, at no point did the waiters approach us to ask if we wanted any other drinks or anything else, not even to present a menu or simply tell us what was available. Overall, we had a good experience.

Lovely Racines at Sofitel is a true hidden gem nestled quietly above the MRT in the business district — an oasis of calm and class. The ambience is elegant yet relaxed, making it perfect for both business and social gatherings. What truly made our visit special was the exceptional service, especially from Rey, who went above and beyond to ensure a flawless dining experience. The entire service team was warm, attentive, and professional — exactly what you'd expect from a 5-star restaurant. The food was a delightful blend of French and local Chinese cuisines. We highly recommend the Caesar salad, sea bass fillet, and local-style Hokkien mee — a surprisingly authentic and flavorful dish. From the French side, the steak frites, duck leg confit, and black cod were all outstanding. The soufflé Cointreau — absolutely to die for! Light, fluffy, and the perfect way to end the meal. We were fortunate to visit on the last day of the Accor Plus 50% discount offer, which made the entire experience incredibly memorable and great value for money. Highly recommended for group dinners or a refined evening out. — Dr Sam Lee

Folks are friendly and helpful. Lovely place. Sufficient spaces between tables. Lobster bisque was really good. You should give it a try. Steak frites was average. Not sure if it is worth $58? But in all, it is still a good dining experience!

We had the 1 for 1 lunch buffet (Citibank) on Nov 22 (Sat). Racines at Sofitel was giving Christmas vibes! 🎄 The ambience was warm and inviting, with a lovely Christmas atmosphere. Christmas desserts was a sweet tooth's dream come true! 🍰 From rich, decadent chocolate cakes to creamy, dreamy yule logs, there was something for every festive foodie. The service was nice with friendly staff. The prices were a bit steep, but is worth it for the quality and festive cheer. If you just want to indulge in some holiday treats, Racines is the spot! 🎅🏻

Go elsewhere—even with the 50% Eatigo discount or the in-house one-for-one promo. You have been warned. 1. Lobster claws were served at the start of the buffet, but the lobster tails were only brought out much later, almost towards the end of the dining period, when many diners were already full. Weird ‘strategy’ from the chef. 2. Many buffet items were not refilled and left with empty plate, even before we were halfway through the lunch service. 3. Tea and coffee were subpar and pre-brewed, served from a hot water dispenser instead of being freshly made. This was utterly disappointing, especially for a S$138++ festive brunch buffet. The only positive was that the staff were friendly and hardworking—but unfortunately, that alone does not justify the price or the experience. 5 pax visited on 20 Dec 25.

Terrifically disappointing! The a la carte service has withered disgustingly from its once very admirable and ambitious heights back in 2017. I have been to this restaurant at least 6 times since its opening in 2017 both a la carte and for the buffet service. Completely gone are the imaginative Sino-French dishes of the early years, replaced by what can be appropriately called fodder for the expense account. Prices are steep, well in the 50s for mains and do not muster the technique, quality of ingredients or service that can justify such charging. I had the duck, steak, pork, and fish. Of the four, the pork is the closest to being called a fine dish, with an intriguing use of peppercorns that adds a semblance of intrigue. The real laziness on show is the fact that other than the beef, all of the mains shared the exact same plating and sides (see photos)--a heap of mashed potato, surrounding carrot puree, a pond of brown-olive sauce, and sprig of plant topping the meat. Come on. I'll save you comments on the charcuterie and the cheeseboard, since the waiter was also not aware what the components would be. But the real kicker is that despite pre-arranging a surprise cake to be served, this being a birthday meal, the waiter came by the table and asked out loud to the entire dining party "here to confirm about the birthday cake". My god. Upon being made aware of that gross faux pas, they quickly invented an excuse about difficulty with the voucher being used. Don't bother coming here no matter your Accor privileges or the size of your expense account. It seems most folks have gotten the message because on this Tuesday night, there were a dozen covers for a kitchen staff of 4 and two waiters. Yet the water glasses fall empty. To the management, shut it down and reboot it. The horse is long dead, and so is the chicken, cow, pig, and fish.

Great food and service. The lobster was nice and juicy and the oysters were nice and fresh. The dessert sections was incredibly nice and great, loved the quirky edible chocolate cup with coconut custard filling. The cheese selections was also quite nice and great, especially the mozzarella salad.

Yelp
Went here for lunch on a weekend. It's in the Sofitel at the city center. They have definitely toned down and adapted well for post COVID era. The three set lunch menu for $38 is a steal. I tried the chili crab starter, pork bao and the mango purée with vanilla ice cream combo and was very impressed. Service is excellent as well.

Yelp
Modern dining room in a modern hotel. Very good service staff once they appear, because there's not many of them, with almost everything being done via an efficient-but-impersonal app. The set lunch is reasonably priced. We went à la carte in order to use our Entertainer voucher. The $48++ wagyu steak is chewy and not good. The crab rillettes is yummy. If not for the 1-for-1 offer, it's terrible value. There are so many yummy restaurants in the neighbourhood, so I guess we will not go back.

Yelp
So today taking a break from virus madness hubby and I decided a nice lunch is in order. We went to Racines. It's quite a cool concept. It is both a French and a Chinese restaurant. The same main ingredient is used but cooked in different cuisines. We had the set lunch, see the menu. I had the carpaccio, yellowtail and poached pears, the French side of the menu. Hubby had the duck roll, pork and chocolate cigar. All good and great value as well. Service was great too. I would definitely go there again. #maneklady #manekeats
