Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Northeast Philly: A Local’s Guide | Eater Philly

"For dinner when you want the old-school Northeast experience, go to Rib Rack — the interior is so dark you can barely see your food, but the ribs and chicken are remarkable and they serve a little square of cornbread that you just savor." - Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme

I saw a video on TikTok that lead me to this place. The guys are very professional and I respect that above all. I order a little bit of everything to get a feel for their skills. The brisket was tender to the cut by way of the fork but not so much on the chew. The ribs were maybe not the freshest pr maybe I just got a few bones not as tender. They definitely didn’t come close to falling off the bone. The sausage, peach cobbler, and beans were good. It’s not bad by any means but from the hype maybe I was expecting more. I will go back in a few weeks to see if my opinion changes.

The foods is amazing! We had the brisket, smoked sausage, and pulled pork. They were all super flavorful and tender. The brisket was our favorite but it was a hard decision. You cannot go wrong with any of it! We also got the mac and cheese and beans, they were just as delicious as the meat! The sweet tea was also good not too sweet but not too bitter, the perfect mix! We have gone by before and they have run out of food, so i would suggest getting there when they open!

I ordered great Northern beans but got baked beans instead aside from that everything was amazing as always! The meat is smoked, not boiled. They have the best brisket hands down & the ribs are perfection. I got there too late to get the oxtails but those are great as well. if you get a chance to try the Great Northern beans you will not be disappointed.

I heard it’s the best brisket in the area. Yup it’s true. The brisket is flavorful, tender, and moist. It’s not salty at all which is a huge plus. Mac and cheese is solid, the cornbread casserole is different the sauces make them both delicious. The barbecue sauces are GREAT. BTW the brisket don’t really need them. It’s a banger without it. The kings on the truck are helpful and polite. I will definitely be back!!!!

This rib food truck is a true hidden gem! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of smoky flavor. You could tell they take pride in getting the seasoning and texture just right. The baked beans had a rich, hearty taste with a perfect balance of sweet and savory that paired so well with the ribs. The collard greens were fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right not too soft, not too firm. And the cornbread casserole was simply amazing, moist, comforting, and a great complement to the meal. Everything we tried was outstanding and full of flavor from start to finish. It’s rare to find a place where every single dish hits the mark, but this food truck absolutely delivered. We left full, satisfied, and already talking about when we’d come back. Highly recommend if you’re craving delicious, soulful comfort food!

Way over hyped! After seeing their ad and good reviews my husband and I decided to give it a try. The brisket was dry and bland/flavorless. You’ll definitely need to add some kind of sauce because it didn’t have much seasoning/ flavor on its own. The Mac and cheese was greasy and the potato salad was off. I think they used way too much pickle relish or something cause it was too tangy/sour like it had an overwhelming flavor of vinegar. We couldn’t eat it and we LOVE potato salad! I’m from the south so I know good BBQ and this just wasn’t it at all. The only decent thing was the cornbread casserole.

Ordered pulled chicken meal with an added rib. Ended up being 23 bucks. All the food was really good. It was a bummer that the Rib was fairly chewy and not really fall off the bone, but good enough I’ll come back and give the ribs a second try.

This place is fantastic, I have watched Al on Tic Tok for nearly a year and always said if I made it to Tampa I would eat here. I was so happy with everything. Not only was everything we ate amazing, Al was a very friendly guy and genuinely cares and is proud of what he cooks and serves. Brisket is so delicious, as is sausage, pulled pork, chicken and ribs. The sides of peach cobbler, potato salad, baked beans and the greens were top notch. Love this place and will come back annually when I come down for spring training.
