Everything to Know About Halloween at Disneyland in 2023

"The motor-themed land is reimagined for the season into a playful, automotive Halloween area where attractions adopt spooky soundtracks and costumes: the tow-vehicle attraction gets a graveyard-themed soundtrack, the dancing roadsters receive a honking holiday makeover, and a popular Italian pit-stop character debuts a new car-stume to greet guests." - Carly Caramanna Carly Caramanna Carly Caramanna is a theme park and travel journalist who has spent her professional career in New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. A Dream Come True for Cars Fans As a lifelong fan of the Cars franchise—and I mean a true fan, for whom the films are more a religion than just a cartoon—I've dreamed of riding Radiator Springs Racers since the day it opened. Today, that dream finally came true, and it was better than I could have ever imagined. My family and I stepped into the world of Radiator Springs, and from the very start, I was in awe. The attention to detail is simply phenomenal. Every turn, every building, every face felt so familiar and lovingly recreated. It's not just a ride; it's an immersive journey into the heart of the movie. Seeing Lightning McQueen, Mater, and the whole gang in person was a magical moment that felt both nostalgic and brand new. The ride itself is an absolute thrill. The journey through Ornament Valley is stunning, and the dark ride section perfectly captures the charm and humor of the films. But the real adrenaline rush comes when you line up for the big race. The feeling of accelerating side-by-side with another car, speeding through the desert landscape, is an exhilarating, wind-in-your-hair experience. My competitive spirit was fully engaged, and the whole family was laughing and cheering. Words can't fully capture the joy and excitement I felt. This wasn't just a theme park ride; it was a pilgrimage. For anyone who holds the Cars movies dear, Radiator Springs Racers is an essential experience. It’s a beautifully crafted tribute that honors the spirit of the films in a way that is both thrilling and deeply moving. I could never give enough kind words to describe how perfect it was. This is more than a ride—it’s a memory my family and I will cherish forever.

Google
Long line? I don’t care especially if it leads into a ride that has a storyline from the movies themselves, great animatronics of the Cars, and is a thrill ride that isn’t too scary but also not timid! FIVE STARS!

Google
Been to every Disney park around the world and this is the best ride of them all. Not to be missed.

Google
Radiator Springs Racers is the main attraction for the Cars Land inside of Disney's California Adventure, it is a mini thrill "coaster", with the ride vehicles being themed around a car from the titular franchise. The wait times can be some of the highest seen in the parks. This is due to the low rider count on the car (only around 6 people). The ride also tends to get jammed up, which makes it hard to wait for. The theming is pretty good though. It features recreations of things from the movie, and does it well to fit the land.

Google
Easily one of the better rides at Disneyland and California adventures. However, it breaks so much. I understand it will be refurbished in a couple of weeks but it always broke a lot. Add in the already really long lines and you are easily waiting an hour or more. Unless you want to pay around 25 dollars a person to skip the line.

Gary Dundon

Google
This is the best version of the "Test Track" rides. It's a nice length with much more interesting theming and storytelling. The line can get really long, so either rope drop it or get a lightning lane pass. Unfortunately the last time we were able to ride, Spider-man was down so most of the rope drop people came to this ride instead. We waited for quite a while, but it was still worth it.

Google
I haven’t done this one in a while, and the purchase of an additional ticket for the fast pass seems steep, but it’s worth it overall. It goes by very quickly and gets you to the front in no time. I really enjoyed this ride and forgot about the entire interior sequence that adds to this ride. Really great experience and was fun!

Google
Awesome ride. Our son loved it, but we did pay for a single rider right after rope drop. We got on the ride by 8:15am. Went on Thanksgiving day.

Yelp
I love Radiator Springs Racers, but it usually breaks down or has a very long line (I'm too cheap to pay for the Lightning Lane deal). I recently rode it when I was at Disney California Adventure. The last few times I was here, it broke down. I was telling the guy in line about my bad luck with this ride and it broke down a few minutes later. He kept blaming me for the breakdown by saying I am bad luck. We got lucky and they reopened not too long after. I had a blast and was happy I was able to ride it after so many years. Radiator Springs Racers is an auto racing ride based on the Disney and Pixar film "Cars" at Disney California Adventure Park. It is located in Cars Land. These cars ride through Ornament Valley and Radiator Springs where you get to see many of the characters from the "Cars" movie. Then its off to the races as you zoom over hills around high-banked turns. This ride is so much more fun than Autopia over at Disneyland because they are faster and there is no gasoline smell. Cars Land is one of my favorite themed lands to visit and this ride is always a highlight.

Yelp
Radiator Springs Racers is basically you riding one of the Cars cars as you speed around Radiator Springs. There are 3 rides in Cars Land and this one is the most popular. It also has Lightning Lane but I'm too cheap for that. L O C A T I O N The ride is located in the back of The Cars Land section of Disney California's Adventures (DCA). Radiator Springs Racers is one of those impacted rides where if you don't ride it as one of your first rides at rope drop, you will be waiting a long while. L I N E S Now if you don't need to go in the same ride as everyone in your group and all you care is riding the ride, then go Single Rider. We didn't rope drop DCA the day we went, we literally walked almost straight to the front for Single Rider and luckily we were both in the same vehicle just different rows. Took less than 5 minutes. But if you want to sit with your group, you may consider doing this as your first ride at rope drop. So if you're rope dropping, you should travel straight then turn left. You'll see Cars Land and just head straight back towards the fire station and then turn right. Just follow the mass. Most folks will be going here and/or Guardian's first. E X P E R I E N C E / R I D E It's a fast ride at a certain point. There are slower parts initially with some jerky movements, but it's a fun ride! There is a photo opportunity on this ride and it comes on the right side after you do some up and down wave movements. O V E R A L L It's a cute ride, but would I wait over an hour for this ride? No. Would I wait 30? Maybe if I've never experienced the ride. If you already purchased Lightning Lane passes, then make sure you get them early as I hear they run out fast. Otherwise, definitely take advantage of the Single Rider line.

Yelp
Welcome to Radiator Springs! The lines are typically long, but that's simply a testament to the fun ride that we're all queues up for! Follow Lightning and the gang as they introduce you to the cast and crew, then send you on a race through the canyons! Who will win? Only one way to find out! :)

Yelp
One of the faster rides in DCA. The line can and is usually pretty long even though its been out for years. Its just that good. The line is broken up pretty well into sections so you're not looking down an endless crowd of people. Theres a lot of interesting things to look at. Even the cacti is diverse. Its pretty awesome how you actually race other riders. Audio is pretty awesome with revving. You really feel like you're in it!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite rides at DCA but beware of the wait. Now ever since this ride has opened it has been one of the most popular ones in this park. You would think the hype would die down but it hasn't. You can buy a fast pass for this ride but the times I have checked it has been around $20. Now for me that's too much but I guess it's what you value it and when you will be back. I'm local and up untill a few years ago I had a pass so I didn't mind waiting. Even now I'm lucky enough to go at least once a year so for me paying is not worth it. Now if this was going to be a once in a lifetime or once in 10 year trip then maybe I would pay to skip the line. If you decide to wait just be prepared for it to be at least a 1-3 hour wait. Longest I have waited was almost 2 hours and it sure seems like it. It goes slow as they let all the fast passes go first and give small breaks for the regular line to get on. As far as the ride it is amazing. Even after all these years the magic is still there. You feel like you are transformed into the movie cars and are exploring the town. The most fun part is the end where you race another car to see who is the fastest and who crosses that finish line first. I'm not sure how fast this ride actually goes but it feels like you are in a full on nascar race. The turns and bump just make this ride so much fun. It's exciting and gets your heart racing. Just be ready as near the end there is a picture opportunity. If you are visiting this park and are willing to wait or pay to get on this is a must ride.

Yelp
Background On Visit: Always want to try this ride, but the line was always long. Decided to finally go on the ride last month. Tip Of The Review: Do yourself a favor and purchase the lightning pass or just go on the single rider if you're okay with separating from your group (1-2 people). Ride the ride earlier in the day. Wait Time: Wait time can be long. On the Disney App, the estimated wait time was about 95 minutes. Instead of waiting in line for that long, we decided to purchase the lightning lane single pass. We still had to wait, but the wait time was only 20-25 minutes. Location: Located in Cars Land at DCA. Entertainment: Try to make yourself look like you're having fun. Towards the end, they will take a picture of your car that you're in. Radiator Springs For Thought: Absolutely loved the ride. I appreciate the detail and precision of the ride from start to finish. There's 2 parts of this ride. First part, you are immersed in Car Land (Cars movie). Then you go on a full throttle race against time against the car next to you through Radiator Springs! Luckily for us, we won that day! Wouldn't mind coming back to the ride. Perhaps, we'll try the single rider line instead of paying for the lightning lane on our next visit.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best rides at California Adventure! Came here on Saturday and rode it once during the day, once at night, and I think it's definitely worth it to experience both! It's cars-themed and you get to "race" another car. Form: - 1 car has 2 rows of 3. Typically the wait is 35-75 minutes long. - Pros: really magical animatronics, and I like that it has a more storybook portion and then a "thrill" portion at the end. - The staff are very helpful, multi-lingual, and help with the seatbelts Advice: - I strongly recommend that if you're in a small group of adults and don't really care about staying together, to do the single rider line! The wait for that is like 10 mins or less, and they fill you in to single spots in the cars that are leftover after they fill it with the standby line. If there's only 3-4 of you in your group, there's a high likelihood 2 of you might end up in the same car anyway, so it still feels like a "joint" experience with a way shorter wait. - If you can't use the single rider line, definitely monitor the Disney app and go line up if you see the wait time is 30 mins or less, because it will never be that way. - Take a photo of the code on your photo so you can get a high quality version later! Overall had a great experience here, hopped in the single rider line at 9:52pm and they still let us in and we still got to ride it before the night ended! 5 stars for the experience, with 1 star knocked off because of the super long wait time in stand by.

Yelp
The details Disney has put into making this ride feel like you're in Radiator Springs deserves applause -- the outdoor scenery, the storytelling within the ride, and yes, the Cars characters themselves, which move and sounds just like the movies, make you feel right at home. This attraction is build with families and kids in mind -- it's not extremely fast, even in the 'racing' part, and is definitely on the low side of the thrill ride spectrum. Still, the way the ride ties you into the authenticity and nostalgia of the Cars franchise is remarkable. Personally, I don't think it's worth waiting more than 90+ minutes for this ride. If you can, take advantage of the single-rider line here!

Yelp
So much fun! I'm not much of a rides gal. But, my nephews convinced me to try RS in DCA's Cars Land. I took a nondrowsy dramamine just in case to prevent motion sickness. This would be a 5 star review if DCA did not charge an extra $19 to do lightning lane. (On 8/19/24). So we opted for the single rider lane which separates you from your party. The lane moved well in not more than 30 mins on a Monday afternoon. It's been many years since I have seen the Cars movie but I do remember Lightning McQueen and the cute cars. The scenery is nice, just like being in the movie. The ride starts out slow and then picks up speed, a lot of speed! Lol! It goes by so quick like about 3 mins. RS is such a thrilling ride! I am bummed that I didn't check the photo board for my ride photo. But, that just means I have to do this ride again whenever I am back at DCA! :) PS: My nephews enjoyed RS Racers. If they are happy, I'm happy. :)

Yelp
Fun ride and great theming!!! Yes the line gets long but the wait is filled with fun theming which makes it go quickly! It's a must do ride every time!
google avatar

Laurel R.

Yelp
Amazing ride, not so amazing wait times. Since Radiator Springs Racers opened I've never not seen a long line over an hour. I've waited almost 3 hours before for this ride. Recent trip we decided to bite the bullet and pay for the lightning lane for the ride to avoid the lines and it was well worth the money. This ride is fun the theming is literally out of this world and it goes FAST. It's a must do for me every trip to DCA but be prepared to have your patient pants on.
google avatar

Chelle S.

Yelp
Epic! We splurged to cut the line. $88. It wasn't cheap, but the line was 2 hours long! Not sure about your kids, but my little ones aren't going to last 2 hours in line. The ride itself was so well-done! It felt like we were in the movie. This is hands down the best ride at California!
google avatar

Shik P.

Yelp
We enjoyed Radiator Springs Racer every time. Today's visit at Disney California Adventure was great as the park was not crowded. Wait times were not long. We didn't wait too long for Radiator Springs Racers ride. Wait time was 24 minutes. We love this ride.
google avatar

Courtney E.

Yelp
There's a reason why this ride always has a long wait. I dislike rollercoasters, and this was a great alternative. It's a combination of both a storybook ride and an adventurous one. I love the element of racing other people (especially because we won!). It was my first time trying Radiator Springs Racer and it's already my new favorite ride.
google avatar

Jostyl T.

Yelp
Alyssa is the shit and if you ever come to Disneyland, she's the one to be with because she was so hospitable and very understanding with my situation.
google avatar

Rachie P.

Yelp
Had a couple of recent visits since my first review... fast pass has been converted to lightning lane. Lightning lanes are only available if you purchase genie plus, however, Radiator Springs Racers is an extra charge separate from genie in itself! Standby will easily be over an hour at any given time of the day besides rope drop. Saving grace, queue up in the single rider if your party is willing to split up and are old enough to ride on their own with strangers. Out of all the single rider lines I've waited in, they are all about a 15m wait. Only a hand full of rides even have single rider so definitely love that this ride has that option. There is no way I can go back to waiting hours for rides anymore.
google avatar

Janet B.

Yelp
The wait is worth it! Great ride. Our 4 year old granddaughter thought it was fantastic and only got a little scared once but she just closed her eyes & wanted to go again.
google avatar

Michele M.

Yelp
Worst line control ever. This ride offers a lightning lane where you pay to get on the ride faster. When in the stand by line and you get to the intersection where you mix Lighting lane with stand by lane they allow 6 stand by people for every 20-30 paid lightening lane people seriously that is ridiculous. Now wonder the stand by lane is so long and you nearly move. I would highly suggest the single rider line if you are over 7 yrs of age and older as it was only 30 min wait. Were we were in the stand by line for what was supposed to be 65 mins but waited for 1hr 54 min. The ride is great but almost not worth it, definitely suggest doing single rider if you can.
google avatar

Matthew U.

Yelp
First ride I ever went on during my first visit to Disneyland. We fought through the crowds to try and be one of the first people in line here and somehow were still in queue for a bit of time. Literally the first stop of our day and we were ready. Totally worth starting the day this way as it is one of the rides that the line backs up quite fast. There is also the option to do the fast pass for this, but it doesn't always guarantee a faster option. The storyline for the ride keeps you involved even when you may be whizzing alone the track. I can echo what the one review states, it reminds you of Test Track in Disney World. But, just because it reminds you of that, it is so much better than that. Involving Cars into the ride instead of just the basics makes it better. I did love the details of the ride as well. It is that that draws you further into the ride. I especially loved the license plates on the cars. A great way to start our day in the area.
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
This ride is awesome!!! As well as Cars land in general. The could not of done a better job. This is a mix between a story line ride and a roller coaster. It's worth the wait. My 4 year old absolutely loved it as well. A great ride for all ages as soon as you hit the height requirement.
google avatar

Sue S.

Yelp
This is my favorite ride in DCA. The line is always long but worth the fun! Two cars racing towards the end of the ride.
google avatar

Ron Q.

Yelp
Radiator Springs Racers has to be one of the best rides at Disneyland. The ride follows a bit of the script from the movie, "Cars". You're introduced to some of the characters including Mater, The Sheriff, Luigi and others. The ride begins with a solemn ride through a canyon, similar to a ride which Lighting McQueen takes in the movie. You meet Mater who entices you to go tractor tipping only to be scared off by Frank, the meanest, biggest tractor in the area. The ride proceeds to prepare for a race. The car you're traveling in goes to the garage for a paint job. Then, you're lined up with another car with passengers ready to race. It's a high speed race with twists, turns and dips all the way to the finish line. Lines to the attraction can be long. Be prepared for upwards of an hour wait. The single rider line is a good option that typically takes about 15 minutes to reach the loading zone. Just know you may not be able to ride with others from your group. Lightning Pass options will fret you on board fastest for a fee. Keep on Yelp'n!
google avatar

Rosabell M.

Yelp
Radiator Springs Racers was the first ride we went on in California Adventures Park. Despite the super long line (90 minutes wait), we decided to stick it out since they don't take the Genie Pass and you need a separate fast pass to skip most of the line. The wait went by quickly as we chatted, and the ride was absolutely worth it! The views are stunning, and they did an incredible job building this ride. You won't regret riding it!
google avatar

Elyse F.

Yelp
Topping out at 40 mph, Radiator Springs Racers first takes riders on a leisurely ride through the desert. Then enter Radiator Springs. Much like Lighting McQueen's first trip to the town, take a crazy ride through it. Now it's time to race. Riders take an exciting journey through Radiator Springs. Your car races the races the car next to you. Convertibles make the experience feel faster. Everything ends with a photo finish. One of the longer lines we waited in at Disney's California Adventure. The line snakes through parts of Disney's Cars version of old Route 66. See old road signs. Walk through a glass bottle house. Even take in the majestic scenery surrounding Radiator Springs. This is one of the better themed lines. Even when there isn't much to look at in terms of signage, the landscape itself is beautiful. We all really enjoyed this ride. If we had more time, we would have rode the ride again. We rode during the day. I am interested in seeing the ride light up at night.
google avatar

Joel B.

Yelp
this was my favorite ride the whole trip. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to ride it over and over. If we return we will come here first so we can ride it a few times throughout the day. It's really popular and the line is long so you want to fastpass it!
google avatar

Jo W.

Yelp
Definitely pay for the Fastpass/the Genie Plus lane when riding this and cut your wait time. It's worth paying if you plan to ride it once during your visit to California Adventures. Not to mention with Genie Plus, you get the photo from your ride loaded into your app once you enter your ride code. What makes this one of the best rides in California Adventures is the fact that you really feel immersed in the world of the Cars movies. My favorite part is when you turn a corner, and you see a majestic waterfall falling before you in a gorgeous, realistic scenery of the wide open roads ahead of you, set to epic orchestra. Since California Adventure is all about immersing visitors into an idealistic version of California, Radiator Springs Racers gives you a taste of the beauty of an American roadtrip, especially through California's gorgeous natural sceneries. Recommend putting your hands up in the air when you're riding and zipping up and down the hilly roads and race tracks. Radiator Springs does a fantastic job of giving you a taste of the glory of riding through a gorgeous summery California scenery. It's certainly my favorite first go-to ride when starting the day in California Adventure!
google avatar

Deanne R.

Yelp
MOST POPULAR ride here at California adventure. Highly recommend to purchase a lighting pass if you can or be prepared to wait up to 3 hrs.... Yikes!!!! Really fun once on...as you prep for the big race, all the locals show up to help. Mater, Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack and Ramone are all rooting for you! Super fun!!
google avatar

Spencer Q.

Yelp
One of my top three in the parks. Definitely one of the coolest movie rides there is.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Bad puns Another kids ride that just goes round and round. Just like the tea cup ride with seating for four (small passengers) you spin around jumping from circle to circle. It's a cool ride and the little kids seem to love it. I don't remember the height restrictions but you don't have to be very tall. Overall three stars. It's a must ride for the kids and if I wanted to hear kids screaming, I'ld just go back on an airplane. ;) M

Yelp
What a beautiful, fun experience in the park. We do not go on very often because it is usually one of the longest lines in DCA but if you have never been on Radiator Springs Racers and you are in the park this ride is a must! From the moment you enter the que you feel like you are actually in Cars from the movie, the surrounding scenery is beautiful. Everything from the cars that take you through Radiator Springs to the characters throughout are simply amazing. Imagine a scenic ride through the mountains. When our son was young (he was about 6 years old when this attraction opened) he really did not like the ride. It was too fast for him (it goes around 40 mph) and he remembered the dips (which really are not too bad but they were a big deal when he was younger). He is now 17 and he loves it now. Like Cars Land in DCA the ride is just amazing.
google avatar

Arlene M.

Yelp
Radiator springs racers is one of the most popular rides in CA Adventure. Again this was a pay lightning lane so I decided to spring for it rather than wait. It did save us a lot of time in the queue and we were seated with others in a car's land vehicle designed for six people. The ride started leisurely through the boulders and waterfalls of the AZ makeshift monument canyon and then we entered the world of cars. Not being familiar with the movie I liked the way the autoanimatronic vehicles welcomed us and showed us the various aspects such as Fios V8, the service station, and then into Luigi's for a paint job. It is here that you are lined up with another vehicle for your race. With the ready, set, go you are off on a high speed winding, twisting and dipping race to the finish line. Without my glasses on I couldn't see who won but hey, its all in fun and both cars follow the same course till you end up near the Cozy Caverns hotel with two cars welcoming you back signaling the end of the ride. For some reason we never saw our photos as they were being displayed on the screen and with the turnaround time being so long we decided to bag downloading our image on the race. The EPCOT center counterpart-Equal. In many ways this ride resembles Test Track however, that ride is not a race. You do start off through a manufacturing of you ride vehicle and then it is off you go through a high speed ride around the pavillion. Both are popular in their own ways. Definitely ride it once if visiting CA Adventure and pay the upcharge for lightning lane. It isn't as expensive as some of the other lightning lane upcharges. Located in Cars Land in CA Adventure.
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
Of course it was awesome being inside the car movie I just don't understand why we have to pay for it. Didn't we already paid to go on all the rides in the entrance. Is this Disneyland Or is this a carnival I'm confused. Well, I guess they do have a carnival section good old Corporate, Disney getting my money every time.
google avatar

Diele K.

Yelp
One of the most popular rides with the longest wait times in Disney California Adventure (DCA). There is both an option to pay for a lightening lane (not included in Genie+) and a single riders line. This is a great attraction for kids and adults, and can be worth the wait! Be sure to check out this attraction when visiting DCA.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Hands down, one of the best rides over in DCA. It's unique and you can only find it here (take that WDW). This ride is EXTREMELY popular so make sure you're ready to wait if you want to check it out. The line can go upwards to a 2 hour wait if you go during busy hours. You can pay for the lightning lane, but prices vary per day. I personally prefer just going on single rider. I don't mind being separated from my group and most of the time, we end up in the same car. I usually end up waiting up at 15 minutes max in the single rider line anyway. As for the ride, it is themed exactly like the first Cars movie. You will feel as if you're transported into Colorado with all of the red rocks. It's so much fun seeing the characters on the ride. I especially love the end where you get to race against another car. You even get your photo taken of you towards the end too!
google avatar

Rachael M.

Yelp
Our first ride at California Adventure yesterday was the wildly popular Radiator Springs Racer's (Car's ride). For this one, you'll want to try to arrive early, because the line only gets longer throughout the day, and if you've made the worthwhile investment in genie+ for your visit, this is one of the few rides Disney annoyingly tacks on a variable additional cost for (between 12 - 20 bucks per person), so this is the advice for those of you, who'd prefer to avoid that additional cost, or who'll be traveling with larger groups. It's no wonder this ride attracts both young and older riders, as it has a lot to offer everyone: there's a scenic/storytelling portion of the ride - a' la an updated Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, followed by a race between your car, and the neighboring car around the track. It's a smooth-ride, and a whole lot of fun!
google avatar

Neen M.

Yelp
Definitely a must (within reason for the wait time) I'd say anything more than 70 min. worth a skip or worth breaking up your party and going in the single rider line. It's a ride that puts you in the story, is slow/fast, fun, lovely views, and entertaining. The idea to "race" strangers in another car sure hypes up the race.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
Omg this ride was so much fun! You go at such fun speeds and go through so many little twists and turns that the whole ride is just fantastic. I'm pretty sure this is a revamp of a racing ride (or similar to one in Disney World) but if so, it's so much better! I wanted to ride it again but we didn't end up having time to do so. It'll be the first thing we ride if we come back! I hope Disney World gets this ride too~!

Yelp
This is without a doubt one of the greatest and best themed rides at California Adventure. Everything from the queue to the ride to even the exit is themed gorgeously and the detail in everything is something that every theme park should look at! The ride itself, you take a ride around Radiator Springs on your way to the big race at the end and you get to encounter a few of the cars that live in the town, such as Mater and Doc. The animatronic cars are amazing and the way they look like they are even taking is crazy! The detail they put into the cars make them seem like they just jumped out of the movie right in front of you. This ride is for any age as long as you meet the height requirement and the speed you get at the end of the ride is so refreshing on a hot Cali day. I for one can't wait to ride this again the next time I am at the park!

Yelp
Git R Done! My favorite ride at Disney's California Adventure, Radiator Springs Racers was a shot of adrenaline the 5 times I rode it during my visit. 4 by way of single rider line. I wish I knew the first ride, as I would've save a ton of time. On the bright side, I did get to check out the decor in the queue. Having never seen the "Cars" series of movies, the first half of the ride was an introduction to the characters, involving a mini-tour of Radiator Springs. Then, the ride branches between Luigi's Casa Della Tires or Ramone's House of Body Art. Ramone's was my favorite. Now, the best part. The six person car lines up at the starting line, waiting for the next car to take their mark. Then, it's off! WHOO-HOO!! Feeling like a real race, the tight turns made me feel like I a weighed a ton, and the bunny hops brought back memories of "Dukes of Hazzard" or "Knight Rider." The whole time, the dueling cars trade the lead, until the fastest crosses the finish line. Not to brag, but my car won 4 out of 5. Of course, one race didn't have a competing car, so that race was won by default. However, a win's a win! Must ride! Radiator Springs Racers was an absolute blast! Well worth the wait, which fortunately w/ the single rider line, isn't much of a wait. The last 3 times I rode were back to back to back, completing a wonderful visit to California Adventure. Best ride at DCA, by far!

Yelp
What a race! Whimsical. Thrilling. Well- themed. Great for the whole family! Everyone enjoys this ride! We love racing. It has a test track kinda vibe (Epcot)... the best part is you get so excited about if you are going to win the race. The ride is so cute. Cools you down on a hot day! We did single rider and it was 20 min Vs 85!!! I love the Cars ride! I can't wait to race again!

Yelp
You don't have to love the Cars movies to appreciate this ride, but if you've got kids who are obsessed with the movies like mine are, this is absolute gold. I would absolutely recommend that if you and your kids are comfortable with it, to opt for the single rider line. It's much quicker, and sometimes, you'll end up riding in the same car together. If that doesn't sound like a good plan for you and your group, and since the line for this ride can get SUPER long, I feel like it's worth the $15 extra for the lightning lane to not have to wait potentially over an hour. Be warned that this ride pretty frequently closes down.

Yelp
9-30-21 best tip ever: get in the single rider line and breeze your way onto the Cars ride instead of standing in a long meandering line. All 3 of us went as single riders. You'll be in different cars with 1 or 2 strangers but just keep your mask on and use the next hand sanitizer you see. We did that our last trip and again this time. I was paired with a nice mom and her 5 year old son. I love raising both hands in the air in longer dips, what a rush for me! The mom told me her son was scared towards the end of the ride so we both praised him. His eyes were really big like a deer flashed with headlights. Brave kiddo didn't shed a tear.

Yelp
The best ride by far at California Adventures, you get a bit of relaxed-pace outside desert inspired scenery, inside enclosed space animated Cars characters, and a nice end cap with a more thrilling drag race that'll get your blood flowing. When this opened in 2012 it won 2nd place for new ride of the year and it is the most expensive ride at Disneyland costing 200 million dollars. I loved the way the imagineers designed the Cars characters, using 90% real cars and some kind of soft material for the front bumper to make the mouths look like they are moving when they are talking. My kid got to go on this twice because of rider-swap for parents and wanted to go on even more. He loved the end racing part the most with good speed, dips, and corners that are thrilling for kids and the adults enjoyed it as well. Shortest wait time we saw was 45 minutes, very popular ride and it was actually worse at opening because everyone rushed here. They designed the line area well so it doesn't feel that boring.

Yelp
Luv this ride. Hang onto your hats. You're goin to race through Ornament Valley. Turning curves and speeding over hills while ending it drag racing with another car. Speeding up to 40 mph. Bring it on!! A photo finish is taken at the finish line, so remember to smile. Ya gotta be 40 inches or taller to ride. The car holds 2 rows with each fitting 3 adults comfortably. You just buckle in and enjoy the automated ride. No steering wheel or pedals. The ride starts off with a mini story of Radiator Springs, that all happens indoors with graphics. Then you cruise outside and ride into Monument Valley. Get set. Another car sidles up next to yours. The drag race begins...vrooom. Hold on. But the red rock formation of Ornament Valley awes me each time. Complete with a waterfall as well, Radiator Falls. I've been to the Grand Canyon and Arches National Park, so this faux landscape has me wondering... how did they make this so realistic looking. Color me impressed. Fun fact: Look at the mountain range. Do you see 6 Cadillac car tail fins? The peaks were mocked to look like Cadillac tail fins from car models from 1956-1962. Not only is it a homage to Cadillacs but also to the quirky Route 66 roadside attraction, Cadillac Ranch, in Amarillo, Texas. That is where 10 Cadillacs were buried halfway nose down with the tail fins up as part of an art installation back in 1973.

Yelp
Me, my brother, and Simoanne enjoyed riding radiator springs the first time ever. Also, it's good to used the lightning lane to give us more time without waiting a long line for 180 minutes since, it's popular ride along with web slingers. Yes, I'm glad to have a chance to see the views of radiator springs waterfall while riding on the cars.

Yelp
Fast, Fun and Exhilarating!! A great ride for kids & adults on the DISNEY adventure side of the park. The graphics are realistic, the cars are fast. A must do, if you go to DisneyLand.

Yelp
I feel the need for speed! (Yes, wrong movie reference, but it fits this ride, lol!) Radiator Springs Racer is located in Disney's California Adventure (DCA) in Cars Land at the very back when walking along Route 66. Single Riders Line? YES!!! Though there is a catch - you might end up waiting about 20 mins to 25 mins before getting on the ride. Originally, I thought the wait time was going to short like the Single Riders Lines at Harry Potter or Transformers (since I usually get in at least three rides out of it, hahah, guess not! Nonetheless, the lines did move pretty fast and so, the wait was bearable). Fast Pass Accepted? Yes My friend was busy completing her Pokémon Challenge and so, I was waiting on her. She encouraged me to go take pictures and check out the rest of Cars Land since it was going to take a while and she didn't want to hold me up (aww, what a good friend!). As I walked along Cars Land, and rounding the corner, I came across Radiator Springs Racer and the words of "Single Riders Line," had me at hello...and hellz yea!!! I figure it's gonna take my friend a while to finish some of the challenges and so, might as well get the ride on! This is a pretty fun and enjoyable ride! The cars fit a Group of 6. The first part of the ride is pretty chilled and great for taking pictures. Scenic tour of Cars Land and seeing the various characters. Sorry, I didn't get any pictures since I didn't know when the speed was going to pick up. Also, I ended up putting my Minnie Mouse ears away (some patrons still wore theirs and it stayed intact when they got back, lol!). After you go through the scenic tours, now, the race begins! Another car will pull up besides yours. As soon as the lights turn green, you're off! What an exhilarating ride and rush! The hills going up and down were awesome and a bit heart-jumping-in-my-throat for me (slightly mimics the elevator motions at Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! and Star Wars - Rise of the Resistance ride (the lift part in the beginning). Love how curvaceous and smooth flowing the various turns were. Towards the end, you get to see a photo finish of your ride! Hehehe, I looked terrified in mines because I was experiencing that up and down bobbing of the hills, lol! Photo: The photo snaps as soon as you race off! I thought the photo snaps as you get closer to the actual finish line...lol, guess not! Now that I know what to expect with this ride, looking forward to riding it again whenever I'm back at DCA, yay!!!
