These Are Atlanta’s Essential Coffee Shops

"Pop by for coffee and coffee drinks daily at this Decatur roastery or order beans online for pick up at the shop or have those beans shipped. People can find Radio Roasters beans used and sold by several shops around Atlanta." - Beth McKibben, Sarra Sedghi

Google
The Americano coffee is fantastic. The flavor is deep and complex. The place is super cute. They didn't have any food when I went, but if it is anywhere as good as the coffee, then I am sure it would be tasty as well. Two thumbs up!! 👍🏻👍🏻

Google
I consistently feel invigorated and motivated when visiting this outstanding roaster, renowned in Atlanta for its exceptional coffee. Their menu's innovation is matched only by the superior quality of their coffee blends and beans. Every visit is a transcendent experience, thanks to the warm and inviting barista and knowledgeable roasters who generously share their expertise. Mycoffeecrawl

Google
I'm not from Atlanta but have been here a couple of times while visiting family. Just wanted to comment how incredibly smooth and delicious their coffee is. They roast their own beans which I love and I especially love and appreciate the staff their. Never underestimate the power of being kind to your fellow citizens of this planet. Especially in the morning before having your fix of caffeine. They are very special people and I so appreciate their kindness. Sometimes that's when people are the grumpiest but their smiles and kind words make it all better.

Google
Super great coffee and wonderful service! The guy making the coffees had such great energy and a happy spirit! Even when it got a little busy for him, I half expected the joyous vibes from him to drop, but they didn’t! He greeted every customer the same and I could tell he really loved what he did! The coffee was super yummy, the vibes of the shop are super cool, and the cinnamon roll was really scrumptious too! Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Visited from Kentucky

Google
The energy in here can be very passive aggressive. I typically like their coffee but this last time my husband came we did not feel welcomed if you know what I mean….i asked a question about why they gave me a 4oz drink in a 16oz cup and was met with irritation. The drink was $6 and wasn’t very tasty. If you didn’t want me to come back you got your wish.

Google
Delicious!! What a great little coffee roaster. The Ethiopia beens made for a delicious, bright espresso, and their black pour-over coffee was full flavored. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely polite and helpful, answering our questions and giving great suggestions. They also sell whole beans and coffee making supplies. The only drawbacks are that they close early and seating is limited, but the coffee is more than worth it!! I will definitely be back.

Google
I needed a new place once moving to GA and I did not think I’d find this gem. It’s quiet, low key, and they roast amazing coffee. But honestly it was the staff that drew me in. I feel like I have a personal 1:1 experience whenever I come in for coffee and I have the best conversations with the people who work here. I am definitely going to be using them for my coffee cart as well. I just really love this place, the people, and I’m so happy I live right next to it.

Google
Really good espresso blend with overall warm notes but with a hint of fruity acidity, that pair really well together! I had an iced latte, and for some reason Radio never seems to fill their cups up all the way, but the drink ratios seem to be in line. I suppose it might just be light ice. The setting area is small but bright, with around 6 (I think?) seats available, in which you can see the roastery, cuppings, and more. It’s not necessarily cozy, and it’s better for to-go orders. Great location near the Dekalb Farmers Market. The baristas were very friendly, helpful, and seem to enjoy their work, which is refreshing to see.

Yelp
One of the best coffee roasters in the Atlanta area! I've frequented this spot for years, love their unwavering commitment to sourcing premium beans from across the globe. Their lead roaster is a professor of the process and always helping to educate others on the beans and best methods for preparing coffee hot and cold. Radio Coffee's expertise shines through their ability to craft distinct flavor profiles tailored to each bean's origin, constantly pushing the boundaries of coffee appreciation. While seating may be limited compared to other cafes, the quality of their coffee and espresso offerings is unparalleled. A must-visit destination for coffee enthusiasts.

Yelp
Best coffee in Avondale Estates! Great coffee, industrious ambiance, and the best barista. It's tucked in the plaza next to Ink+alloy. Great to visit after the farmers market or when visiting kudzu. Limited seating but great for working. They also sell coffee beans and ground coffee. They offer great subscription memberships at a reasonable rate. The baristas are knowledgeable, creative, and friendly. They do have seasonal flavors and promos from time to time. Ample parking. Highly recommend checking them out if in the area. Kudos to the staff and management.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop hidden away off Ponce in Decatur. It's a great location to stop in and grab a pick me up before taking on the madness at Dekalb Farmers Market. Lol. Always great service and great coffee!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place and finally got the chance to! This coffee roaster/shop is almost hidden. It's right across from Dekalb farmer's market in a business area. The inside is mainly a roastery/warehouse so the coffee shop isn't exactly a cafe, but they do have a few seats inside and outside. It's super cute and colorful inside and the baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable. I trust them with my coffee 100000%. I got a cuppacino and my boyfriend got a matcha. We both really liked our drinks and will be back for sure. There's a ton of parking space right in front!

Yelp
Radio Roasters Coffee has this milk which is delightful called Miracle milk. It consist of Coconut cream oats and Fava beans. This tasted amazing in my Vanilla Cardamom Chai latte. The young lady was amazing with helping me making my decision. I highly recommend if your in the neighborhood. Her name is Dasha, again she's amazing and great customer service.

Yelp
About the only coffee/tea place we could find within a decent drive to the front entrance to Stone Mountain park was Radio coffee. The lady that helped us gave us time to review the drink menu and the Matcha Latte was my third choice, no Earl Grey tea and no Orange flavoring (they were out) so the two specialty teas I ordered were a no go...pretty funny...so I settled on Matcha Latte and it was good! My husband ordered coffee and a pound to go...he really loved the coffee. There was plenty of parking, a few tables (3) outside and a few seats inside (the inside seats were bench style, enough for 3 or 4 people to sit, forward facing). The service is good, very sweet folks and clean/industrial work area to pick up your coffee. Go, enjoy a hot cup of coffee ;)

Yelp
Horrible barista with a very poor attitude. I would recommend spending your money at a different coffee shop.

Yelp
We were on our way from the farmers market and decided to stop by Radio Roasters for some much needed caffeine. I had noticed some buzz about Radio Roasters from Gilly Brew Bar but I was disappointed to see I missed the collab pop up. I was even more disappointed to see their coffee menu offerings were limited to espresso, coffee and tea, at the time in October 2020. I do see now the menu has expanded to some seasonal specials that sound delicious - I'll have to stop back in sometime. I ordered an iced latte, which hit the spot. There was limited seating outside (basically 2 small tables with small chairs). Hopefully that's changed :) Something I learned tonight that I didn't realize before was the massive size of the "coffee shop." It's because they roast their coffee in-house and the warehouse is what that is for. The tiny coffee cart/shop in front is just another aspect of their local presence in the coffee community. I can't wait to stop back in for more!

Yelp
This former coffee snob fell in love. Flutter my heart. My nephew first gifted me a bag a month or so ago. And after extracting one shot I was in awe at the crema. I have had hundreds of espresso blends from roasters, and helped create them with some of my former bosses when I worked for coffee roasters. This blend was so stellar. I wish I could post a picture, but I drink my cortados way too quick. I've worked with some of the best roasters in the US and this roaster Radio Roasters, is an A+. Great job!!! Will be ordering more!

Yelp
Wonderful coffee and excellent customer service. I only wish it had more of a coffee shop vibe where you can come in, sit, and enjoy your coffee and a pastry.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best lattes in Atlanta. I love how simple their menu is. And I even bought a bag of their house coffee. Next I'd definitely try their cold brew. This place is so small the only downside is I wish their was a little bit of seating inside but much of their space is production space because they roast their coffee. There are a couple of picnic tables outside but it's of course very hot in Atlanta. Glad to support a local business.

Yelp
Open on time!!! Arrived at 8:55 am and expected to get some good coffee. To my surprise a coffee shop that doesn't open up until 9am on Saturday's (or so I thought). So I patiently wait...9am, 9:01am, 9:03am, it is now 9:05am and there is no one in site. Guys, if you have a business, show up on time; period! UPDATE: Upon me getting off of my flight I received a voicemail from the owner, Chip. He apologized and sighted an emergency as to the reason for the the delayed opening. He left his contact information for me to call back and asked that I come back and give them an opportunity to make it right. I definitely am understanding of emergencies/things happening and appreciated the call. I've temporarily updated my rating to a 3 and will take Chip up on his offer. Thanks!

Yelp
I can't be the only one who passes Radio Roasters coffee every time I shop at Dekalb and think "man, I gotta try that place!" It's usually like a Tuesday evening at 8 pm and not only is it not acceptable for me to drink coffee that late, but RR is also not open that late. I have certainly drank Radio Roasters coffee around town (like at Full Commission), but never straight from the source. Well, today was the flippin' day! I decided to treat myself to a post-voting latte. Happy Election Day. I did my civic duty by casting my vote, then I cast my app order and drove over to Radio Roasters. I originally ordered a latte with honey, but unfortunately they were out of honey. The very sweet barista happily made me a latte with cinnamon and vanilla instead. I am always a little leery with lattes at new spots, because I hate to get one that's too sweet.I can honestly say this was the most perfect amount of sweetness in a latte that I have ever had. It was not overly sweet in the slightest. Great coffee, great espresso, great experience! I can't wait until they have seating available again, because this spot is gorgeous!

Yelp
I absolutely love the coffee here! They actually have house made syrups which make their lattes stand out forme. The staff have always been super friendly and helpful and they offer a variety of shirts, accessories and of course you can buy their coffee beans. Of all the local coffee shops i have the say they are my favorite as far as taste goes!

Yelp
Super cute shop! I've wanted to go for a while and I'm glad I did. They are very observant of covid-19 protocol now, only allowing 1 person at a time to enter. I'm lucky it was nice out and I only had to wait 2-3 minutes for the people in front of me to get their drinks. I asked the barista to what her favorite latte flavor was and she made me a Caramel Oat Milk (my request) latte! She was super friendly and I could tell really loved her job. I was on the phone with my friend at the time (through my headphones) and he thought that she and I knew each other by how easy our conversation was :) The drink was a little small, but lovely. I finished it in a few sips, but it was delicious. I was also told that if I came back during the week that the coffee roasters would be in and that I could watch them work! PS. Tip extra well right now! Our service industry folks deserve it.

Yelp
Didn't get to try the coffee. Based on the reviews I'm sure it's great! A word of advice- greet and acknowledge customers when they come in. I stood there for 5 minutes and never got a hello or any acknowledgment of my presence. A young man, it seemed was being trained. Totally fine. I work in hospitality and therefore have an enormous amount of patience and grace for other colleagues in the industry. A simple, "we will be right with you or Good Morning" is enough to do the job.

Yelp
Love coffee? Appreciate local business? Then head to Radio Roasters asap. Chip operates a small roastery and does it well. I especially enjoy purchasing beans from Radio because I can purchase a smaller amount. (4oz) it usually makes 5-6 cups so about a week give or take. This gives me the opportunity to try new coffee and not have the same coffee for an entire month. Today when I stopped in I was even able to pick up filters for my chemex which I was in desperate need of. Chip bagged and packaged my beans while I waited and enjoyed a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. It's super close to home, the coffee is roasted in house, syrups are house made, and the staff has been nothing but nice, knowledgeable and quick. During my first visit, I ordered the cardamom syrup and asked for my latte lightly sweetened and it was perfect. On my second visit, I got the caramel syrup and wanted it lightly sweetened again. Sean was there that time and he quickly obliged. When I explained that I was asking for medical reasons (autoimmune condition), he even let me know the approximate amount of syrup they use in each drink, etc. (I haven't asked for lightly sweetened anymore because it's perfect as is!) We had a whole convo about places being more transparent about that kind of thing. Needless to say, I've been back quite a few times since then! There are a few coffee options in the area and Radio Roasters isn't really a place to come hang out or get work done (some seating available but most of the space is taken up by roasting equipment; there are a few tables outside). But it is hands down my top choice for a quality cup and a great customer experience. I'll be here to pick up beans for my at-home brews as well!

Yelp
Loving the coffee shop vibe here. Everyone has always been so nice. I've been here a couple of times. They don't have a cold brew, but they have pre-canned Nitro Cold Brew which is really good. The iced americano for me was just okay, but definitely cool nitro cold brews. They also have some pastries. There's a lot of cool decor here that I was able to check out before Covid. I couldn't tell if they allowed people to sit inside last time, but I was there right before they closed. They do have some benches right outside though.

Yelp
My coffee was good, and so were my beans. Not mind-blowing, but still quite nice! I will try more unique beans next time, for sure.

Yelp
As a coffee snob and someone who plans vacations around coffee shops in the places I visit, I would highly recommend Radio. It's by far the best coffee in Decatur for a latte or cappuccino, and yes they brew on La Marzocco have Oatly. It is by far the best roaster in the state, bold I know. They roast a very smooth house blend, Hifi, which might be a little too light roast for more traditional pallets, but IMO is a perfect late morning treat. All the people that work there are kind, no pretentious baristas thank god! It won't be long before Radio is the premier roaster in the south. It's that good!

Pretty V.

Yelp
Hands down the best coffee around. We absolutely adore their coffee; and we have tried just about every coffee shop ITP & OTP. It's more focused on their roasting operation but their barista setup is just what's needed. We weren't crazy about the cupcake selection offered (sometimes) but they have random local bakery pop up selections that have been pretty good. Sean/Shawn/Shaun is the barista that's usually there when we go and we couldn't love him more. He remembers our order, plus he is always fun and pleasant to chat with. Wish more shops would supply their beans because whatever they're doing, it's utter perfection.

Yelp
I worked at the corner of North Decatur and Ponce for three years but didn't find this coffee shop until a month before we moved to another location. I did get the pleasure of stopping by a couple of times and will again. It's quiet, unlike you "big coffee shop". Would be a great place to meet and chat with a new friend. My drink was excellent and the service was on point. I definitely recommend supporting this local coffee shop.

Yelp
This amazing coffee shop is located near the Your Dekalb Farmer's Market and is tucked away in an unassuming parking lot. You can't miss it, though - there's "COFFEE" in large letters above the entrance. They have outdoor seating (no indoor seating at this time) and they serve amazing coffee. They also sell some very cute merch (I was eyeing that t-shirt and the stickers) as well as different types of coffee makers like the Aeropress, Chemex, etc. I think this place might be a little less well-known, which I don't mind because it means it doesn't get too crowded! I will 100% be coming back here, especially as the weather gets warmer.

Yelp
Stopped in with a bunch of questions. Staff very knowledgeable & accommodation. Made me a mean cup of coffee!

Yelp
This is a fantastic local firm with an artistic blend of roasted coffee's. I highly recommend supporting this local company if you happen to be in the area, definitely make it a point to stop by. Also, I signed up for their email list which is been awesome because I get notes every so often about their specials, and new flavors. I don't get too many emails, just enough.

Yelp
OMG, Radio Roasters Coffee was definitely great. Phenomenal menu items, friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere - what more could you ask for? I love every single thing I have ordered here. All of the staff are really courteous - you definitely feel welcome and looked after. I will be back to Radio Roasters Coffee.

Yelp
This is GOOD coffee! it was a delight to be greeted by such a warm face (even with a mask on) and then once I tasted the coffee- wow! She recommended the washed Ethiopian, said it was unique and reminded her of a fruity beer. I enjoyed every sip and bought a bag of beans and they taste just as incredible when I brew at home. They have some outdoor tables for seating and only allow 1 person in the shop at a time.

Toyiah M.

Yelp
Delicious latte with care and thought put into the drinks. This place has a definite west coast vibe to it and I appreciated the process of having freshly ground espresso beans with handmade chocolate syrup in my drink. Silky texture, subtle flavors and I'm pepped for the day. I'll be back!
