Radisson Blu Madrid Prado | Best places to stay in Madrid

"Typical of the Radisson chain, this 54-room hotel is comfortable, smart and reasonably stylish, with good four-star facilities including a small but stylish spa with pool. There’s also a (tiny) fitness centre, and a good restaurant specialising in locally-sourced, organic produce. It’s not stacked with local design touches or connections to authentic culture, but the Radisson scores highly for its location, opposite the Prado Museum and close to the other top two galleries, the Reina Sofia and Thyssen. It’s also handily close to green spaces such as Retiro Park, and the lively tapas bars around Plaza Santa Ana. A safe, good value choice – especially if you’re coming to Madrid for the art. Hi had an amazing time From the moment we arrived, Pablo and Javier made us feel completely at home with their warm welcome. The ladies working there were also incredibly helpful and kind, even though we didn’t catch their names. The lobby is beautiful, with thoughtful welcome touches like fresh fruit, water, and candy. The entrance is stunning..people are constantly stopping to take photos. The location is perfect, close to great restaurants and the most important museums. We can’t wait to come back.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Radisson Blu Madrid Prado. The hotel’s location is excellent, just steps away from Madrid’s main museums, restaurants, and attractions ,perfect for exploring the city on foot. I’d like to highlight Wendy, the cuban lady at the reception, who was exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. Her warm attitude and professionalism made me feel truly welcome. Another detail I really appreciated was the water refill stations available on the guest floors , such a thoughtful and eco-friendly idea that every hotel should adopt. Overall, the combination of a prime location and attentive staff made my experience very enjoyable. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel to others visiting Madrid.

We arrived very early in Madrid and, thankfully, a room was available. Javier assisted us with great professionalism and kindness, helping with our luggage and completing the check-in even though it wasn’t yet 3pm. He also gave us great tips and recommendations about the city. Breakfast was good, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean maybe a little dark but it’s not an issue since you spend most of the day out exploring.

Amazing stay! Loved my time at Radisson Blu Madrid Prado! Perfect location, super comfy rooms, and great vibes. Special thanks to Wendy at reception, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She made our stay nicer and gave awesome tips about the city. Would definitely stay here again!

Google
Fantastic experience and lovely team! I had such a great time at the Radisson Blu Madrid Prado. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the city, close to everything. But what really made the difference was the staff. Wendy at reception was incredibly nice and Pablo, the manager, made sure guests felt well looked after. I happened to be celebrating my birthday, and they surprised me with a sweet note and a dessert in my room , such a thoughtful gesture that really made me smile. It’s those little details that make a stay memorable. I’d definitely stay here again!

The service was excellent. The location was quiet but close to everything. The breakfast was a bit monotonous. A little attention to detail would have been appreciated. My shower leaked so much that the bathroom was "floating" after a shower. The clumsy attempts to seal it with unsightly silicone were clearly visible. But overall, I recommend it. A nice, quiet hotel in a good location.

Nice hotel but not special. Booked a superior room with a balcony but the room itself was long and narrow and it felt quite claustrophobic, even with the balcony (which isn’t big enough to sit on). Bathroom smelt of a well-entrenched water leak which I mentioned to the cleaning staff so I hope that’s sorted before the next occupant arrives. Fabulous location if you want to ‘do’ the big three galleries (literally across the road from the Prado) and 5 minute walk to Atocha station for bus/train to the airport.

Google
Pros: amazing central location incredibly close to the three prominent art galleries. Convenient for walking just about everywhere with lots of restaurants and places nearby. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice and lovely fresh food.||Cons: the lower price rims have opaque windows, and feel a bit claustrophobic. I would recommend definitely choosing a room with a full proper window. Some minor maintenance irritations burnt out lightbulbs. One of the elevators is not working some minor problems with key card access at times.

Yelp
We just spent six nights in a Jr Suite. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The location is great, easy walk to the Prado, Botanical Garden, Reina Sofia Museum and Thyssen Museum. Reasonable walk through a charming historic neighborhood to Plaza Mayor etc. Cafe across from the hotel was great for outdoor nightcap. Our room was very good. Bedroom was better than many standard hotel rooms. The bed was large (queen plus?) with plenty of space around it to move, decent size closet and separate built in drawers. Living room was comfortable for six people to socialize. Juliet balcony (large enough to stand on) looked down on small plaza and looking sideways down to the boulevard bordering the Prado and Botanical Garden. Another reviewer wrote about a poor experience at breakfast, however our experience was the opposite. Buffet offerings included a variety of fresh fruit (kiwi, orange slices, pineapple, melons, etc.); bread (croissants, pain au chocolate, etc.); sliced meats (Iberian ham, other hams, smoked salmon etc.); various hot and cold cereals; pastries (apple tart etc.) as well as made to order eggs, including omelets, bacon, sausage. The staff for the breakfasts was outstanding. Very friendly, helpful and very efficient. We found the breakfasts to be exceptional. Similarly, the front desk staff were very friendly, and knowledgeable. They recommended "Salmon Guru," a fantastic bar an easy walk from the hotel. The only thing we found to be less than amazing was that the lobby was quite small. Big enough to wait to meet someone, but it did not invite lingering. I cannot comment on price/value as this was part of a larger package booked through a Spanish travel agent. En suite bathroom and half bath off the living room were clean, modern, spacious with excellent water pressure and temperature.

Yelp
lovely European hotel with a cute plaza and cafes just outside. close to shopping etc. Pool is a bit small but nice to have one. Don't bother with the over priced breakfast.

Yelp
Deceptive. My husband just checked in to a queen room today. Here is what Radisson insists is a queen bed. Apparently they photoshop their online photos! There is no recourse. The king rooms are all booked and all that are left are "queen" bed rooms like this one. Please beware. I can't imagine what we'd do if we had to share this bed on our vacation. It's small enough that NOT spread out much, he can lie in the center and both feet touch a corner. Not a queen. Not in Spain and not in the US.

Yelp
NEVER AGIAN!! BAD IMPRESSION from the first 5 mins We visited Spain for more than week, we planned to stay at NH hotel and Radisson Blu hotel 4 nights each. I was on corporate booking which said 1 standard room with 1 person but my wife came with me on the very last minute so thing have changed. NH hotel was very kind and understanding, I would willing to pay for the extra but the staff insisted that I pay for the extra breakfast is fine. But unlike wise for Radisson Blu hotel.. I would pay for the extra person for my wife .. but the impression that I got is you must pay extra for this you must pay extra for that.. which got us to the point that we didn't want to stay here anymore So I told the reception that I want to cancel this booking now!! I rather find some places but not here.. he said the cancellation must informed a day in advance so what I did was I cancelled 4 nights there and stayed there for a night ( no choice) Congratulations you just lose me Radisson Blu Well done !!!

Yelp
Location, location, location - that's what this place has and if you add that to decent sized rooms, tolerable service standards, and a cool spa with a hammam this is a solid 4 star (not 3 as ratings show on average). Yes, some elements aren't up to best maintenance quality and so if you can get by that flaw you will see Neptune in a fountain with his sea horses daily, one of the greatest museums in the world right out your front steps (Prado), and you'll walk the botanical gardens within minutes. In conclusion, this is s great spot and deserves a tad more positive accolades.

Yelp
Great location in Madrid. Several nice cafes and restaurants nearby and shopping at Sol and Callaou is just a short walk away. The rooms are great. Nice and clean, and the art covering the wall behind the bed is gorgeous. View from the room is great and it's nice having a window you can lean out of and see the city life below. Bathroom and shower is perfect. Love the rainfall shower head and it's very pristine. We had dinner and drinks at the restaurant and it was very tasty. Quick and friendly service -- same goes for their room service. Wish we could have spent more time, but hopefully will be back some day soon.

Yelp
Great stop. Staff friendly and helpful, hotel stylish, beds comfortable, location terrific for the Prado and delightful surrounding parks. Also only a short walk from the Atocha train station. Pablo at evening check in took good care of us. Solid value for such a prime location. Highly recommend the Jamon museum (cafe) halfway to the train station or Cardamomo Flamenco in the evening.
