"Radix House, a coffeeshop that serves espresso and CBD products, has closed its cafe that opened on Menchaca Road in May. In a Facebook post, owner Roger Pilney explained that the property will be torn down to build condos, which he wasn’t told when he signed the lease. Pilney has reopened a Radix truck at 3008 West Slaughter Lane, and put out a plea for customers, telling Community Impact that he had exhausted funds and was afraid he would have to close permanently. Beyond its role as a coffee purveyor, Radix partners with programs supporting PTSD research and treatment and suicide prevention." - Erin Russell

This place is surprisingly good considering it’s one of the newer locations. One thing that’s great about this shop is, unlike other nationwide popular chains the larger the size, the more espresso you get. Ari who made our drinks even warned us ahead of time about this, my buddy who got the large had 4 shots in his latte w/o extra cost and my medium had 3, with the standard I believe being 2 in their latte’s. That said my friend greatly enjoyed his chocolate strawberry latte and I loved my Orange Creamsicle. These aren’t creative recreating of the flavor but actually taste as described in the description in the menu. If you love orange creamsicle you’ll love their version of it! It tasted exactly as described. Ari who was working at the time was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped me and my friend out with our selection. Our drinks were good, Ari provided great customer service, and was very friendly and welcoming! Lastly all the material here that they give you is compostable so my inner hippie was happy that the Togo cups could be turned into something useful when we finished our drinks. It is a food truck part with other food trucks so no indoor seating obviously but when it warms up it’ll definitely be a chill spot to have coffee. It is a bit pricey costing ya around 8-10$ per latte, but the latte is great, Ari is great and I have no complaints and will be back again!

I'm 1,000 miles from my city but Radix makes me feel right at home. Ari was super accommodating and made some of the best coffee I've had in a long while. She also dropped some awesome tips for a tourist like me. The menu is too fun to not come back before we leave! I found it refreshing how they were also so motivated to talk about mental health. It might just be the lifeline someone needs. Give these good folks a visit.

Great coffee, wide assortment of baked goods + breakfast tacos, and kind people! I love their mission/focus on mental health and enjoyed reading about Lucy’s Heart. A great small business with a good cause :)

Great new location in South Austin. Come for the coffee and enjoy the outdoor seating. Activities for the kids and even breakfast food. Order ahead to avoid any lines.

It's more than a coffee house, it's a coffee home. The mission behind the business (mental health awareness and support) made me want to check this place out. The feeling of welcome & community plus the great coffee keeps me coming back. Their menu is super allergen friendly. Baristas consistently check ingredients when I ask about adding them to a beverage. Not to mention the non-dairy whipped cream!

They do take Apple Pay, not cash. They were willing to accommodate since it was my first time visiting. The iced latte had the perfect ratio of espresso, milk and ice. The whipped cream my pup had looked good, possibly house made. I will be adding it to my drink next time. Very dog and people friendly. Peaceful outdoor scenery with plenty of parking.

This place has some GREAT coffee and their mission is even greater. They focus on the awareness of mental health and his vision for everything was incredible. Additionally, their staff was super friendly and they give a teacher discount! We will definitely be back when visiting.
