"For very casual dining and drinking, R Bar is your answer with all sorts of great Texas-ish dishes. You’ve got tacos, burgers, fried chicken wings, and much more, alongside beers and cocktails. Plus, it hosts regular karaoke and concerts. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

Found this lil gem in Marble Falls downtown square. A little tavern cozy to chill have a drink and ordered some good food. We had wings as an appetizer which were very good. My wife had the chicken fried steak which was decent. I ordered a burger with bacon. It was pretty good. Great price. But hated the hamburger bun. It was sweet. I don't like sweet messes up the burger taste. A chabata roll would have been better. Seriously. The place overall was cool, and we enjoyed ourselves and being there. Probably will go back to try the fajitas.

Found this place by chance and I’m so glad that I did! My mom and I were passing through Marble Falls today and chose this spot after seeing pictures from other reviews. The staff was friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in bringing us menus. We both Ordered the chief burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I think I’ve ever had, the patty was thick, juicy and full of flavor, the bread was crispy and soft at the same time with a hint of sweetness. The fries were also very delicious with a seasoning on them. I will definitely be back with my family to let them check it out as well.

At first we didn't see or find Rae's Rbar but then it was pointed out to us tucked in a side street corner. I saw an item in the reviews I wanted but not on the menu for dinner and they whipped it right up. Very good and the prices are good, too, while the server may not know all the prices. My wife loved her drink. While small it was friendly and had a good atmosphere. More seating was outside.

I came here with my husband for a quick meal while passing through and if I lived in this area I would 100% come back. We came on a Wednesday night so it was slow, I can only imagine the crowd they get on the weekends. The service was great and the food perfection. They have a small menu which allows them to make sure their food is top quality. And the prices were very fair in my opinion too. Great place 10 outta 10!

Google
When at Rae's, you might want to check your salad. It's bad enough finding a black hair in your food... BUT TWO!!! I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. Never had coleslaw like this before, kinda limp, not crisp, like your everyday coleslaw. Tasted jalapenos, which was an interesting change. In the past, more than once, I have sent back food. I have always been tactful and polite and have found out that there are two types of people that you don't make mad... mechanics and people that handle your food. We were on our way out of town and meeting with folks and couldn't take the time to get with management and staff. After reading this review, management can address the issue, but not with my food as the reason.

We have lived in Marble Falls for 15 years. Every couple of years we give the R-Bar another chance. Obviously some people like it because most of the reviews are good. We have always thought that the food was mediocre at best. Now, Marble Falls doesn't have a lot of restaurants so maybe people are grading on a curve We had seen a Facebook post that said they had good Chicken Fried Steak. So, we wanted to give them another try. Three of us had the CFS and were all disappointed. Here's a rundown: - Food: Everything is over-seasoned. I'm not saying spicy because I like spicy. But just throwing flavors on things hoping for the best isn't going to work out. See details below: - Service: super slow, but we were not in a hurry so it was OK for us. Food Details - Sweet Tea - WOW. Basically tea flavored syrup. And my family loves sweet tea. I actually had unsweet so we mixed mine and my daughter's together and it was still sickening sweet. Tea was never refilled so we just had to deal with it. - Chicken Fried Steak: Tough, really tough. My 16 YO daughter took the first bite and said, "it tastes cowy". We laughed and then I understood. The meat must of been seasoned or marinated in something that had a strong beef taste. It was like chewing on a beef bouillon cube. One of us were able to choke it down, the other two just passed. - Mashed Potatoes: I realize this is going to sound strange. But similar to the CFS, it had a very strong flavor. A strong potato flavor. Yes - I know this sounds silly. None of us ate them. I don't know what a raw potato tastes like, but my guess is it tastes like Mashed Potatoes at R-Bar. Oh, and mashed potatoes is not a good name. Chunky potatoes would be a better name. - Side Salad: Well, it's a simple salad. No issues. Overall. The food was tough, over-seasoned, and just bad. If you normally eat at Golden Corral, then this place is probably a treat. Otherwise - stay away.

Google
Pulled pork sandwich was delish bun is a little too much for the amount of meat but good nonetheless. Staff was friendly, funny, and informative. Decent selection of liqour for a small establishment. Nice patio!! Perfect people watching and enjoying the weather when it’s nice out.

Google
Tried this spot in Marble Falls, TX. No frills inside, with tables, booths, and bar seating. Wait staff a little slow, but very friendly. The husband ordered a Lone Star and was delivered a Bud Light. Pork tacos ordered very good, flavorful. Pickle Spears with ranch, good breading, and enjoyed. Burger was good, too, with spicy seasoned fries. Good. Ordered a White Russian, and was told would see, if needed, bartender would look it up. Made it, and it was decent.

Sandi M.

Yelp
Food was great, drinks good, great place to people watch. Just wish they were open later.

Shayna K.

Yelp
Terrible quality burgers and service. I've brought many people in and I just cringe at the unprofessionalism of the staff. We won't be back.

Lucy E.

Yelp
Even though I went on a busy day and got server who was just helping out, it was very nice. He made sure to turn the fans on to make sure we all stayed cool outside on a hot day, help me with booster seats and high chairs as soon as he saw us. The food was on point. We got the burger and wrap and we loved it. My kids really loved the chicken especially.

Tamara C.

Yelp
Good place to grab a bite , drink & watch some football Karaoke was about to start so we left

Jennifer B.

Yelp
This has been a local favorite for the past 11 years. There isn't a bad thing on the menu and service is always good. There are times when it's slow or the kitchen gets backed up because of a large rush, but staff is friendly and drinks are cold and that more than makes up for that. Indoors and outdoors if you want to bring your fur babies and enjoy an afternoon outside with a cold beer and your furry friends. Mom owned and operated. A staple on Main Street.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Was visiting from out of town. We usually go to another restaurant in town but was afraid it would be loud inside if they did live band like last time and we had the kids with us this time so decided to come here. So glad we did!! We loved everything! I split my burger with my son and forgot to take a photo. Friendly service. We stayed inside while karaoke was outside. Great place. Would love to come back.

Anita W.

Yelp
I'm so thankful for Yelp!!! This was a great little spot! The fried okra is better than mine and that's saying something!!! I got the quesadilla with pulled pork and loved both versions of the ranch! The pulled pork enchiladas were also quite tasty.

Dimitri C.

Yelp
Lively atmosphere and good food. Always a good crowd there and the karaoke is always very entertaining

Daniel M.

Yelp
I recommend this place because they are open until 10:30pm. Every where else closes at 9:00pm. Even on summer on a Saturday night! I recommend a chicken fried steak! It's good. Whatever you do, don't go to River City Grill. Their food sucks and the close at 9:00pm!! Like, what the heck!!! It's summertime.

Di B.

Yelp
Dog Friendly Patio! Great food and service! The fans were wonderful! Something for everyone on the menu.

R R.

Yelp
A great place to bring your fur baby and enjoy the food and drinks. The burgers are the best! The restaurant has a comfort feel and the servers are friendly!

John A.

Yelp
We came to visit Marble Falls from San Antonio for a little spring break getaway. We found the R Bar & Grill on Yelp and decided to try it out. It isn't a big restaurant but has a good small town feel on the historic Third Street. We were greeted nicely and sat ourselves. The menu isn't extensive but has good options. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The food was great. We had the the Tejas Pulled Pork burger, Blazin Saddle Bowl and the Dylan's Tacos. All were very flavorful and plenty of food. I will say the Blazin Saddle Bowl was more like a soup which isn't what I expected but it was still very good. BONUS: They have green chili! All in all the vibe was nice and the service and food were great. We will eat there again.

Les F.

Yelp
This little hole-in-the-wall joint is a BIG surprise. The barkeep is not just a pretty face, she mixes a truely excellent drink. The guitar-player plays some dancible music. And there's just enough room for 2, maybe 3 couples to enjoy a turn. I'll be going back.

Chris B.

Yelp
Good food and great people! Try to tacos of the chicken fried steak. Now that it's cooling off you can enjoy sitting on side on 3rd street.

Fran B.

Yelp
Great local restaurant. Delicious food. Music too. Lovely staff. Located on Msin Street close to lots of shopping.

J C.

Yelp
The food is pretty good but they nickel And dime for everything even ranch is .75 with wings which is ridiculous. The seating is uncomfortable no booths and all wood seats. Staff is decent for a small town. Closed on Sunday. Heard this place use to be the spot.

Candi A.

Yelp
Cute little stop in Marble Falls in main square area. Very clean restaurant, attentive/friendly staff and most importantly, great food. Good variety of food and drinks. Nice atmosphere on a weekday afternoon.

Debbie B.

Yelp
Good burgers... the buns are really delicious! Nachos were ok, but burgers were better. Sweet waitress.

Yelp
Shopping with the wife and mother-n-law in Historic Downtown Marble Falls. It's lunchtime and neither of them seemed too interested in food. I dropped a couple food hints along the strip that was summarily dismissed. I knew I had to be strategic at this point or my day would be spent in boutiques. There are a few restaurants around from which to choose so at first chance I "lose them" and start the search for my next Yelp review. R Bar and Grill was busy and had outdoor patio seating available. The menu posted outside was right in my lane. Several pulled pork dishes. It's seat yourself so I politely waited for a party to leave the table and claimed a good spot on the patio. Samantha took my drink order and offered a suggestion for lunch "anything pulled pork." Pulled pork nachos were settled upon. Five minutes later, a cardboard basket piled with tortilla chips and pork were delivered. The pork was nicely seasoned, chips crispy, queso and borracho beans accompanying perfectly. A little spice warmed my mouth, so I ordered the perfect spice quencher, a dressed Dos Equis. Samantha returned to check on me just as I took a bite. My thumbs up was all she needed to see before off she went to take care of other patrons. The deeper into the cardboard bowl I ventured, the more tasty my meal became. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and asked Samantha what desert she recommended. The only deserts were peanut butter silk pie or a brownie. I chose the pie. Pie crust, chocolate layer, PB layer, and whipped cream topped with mini-reese's peanut butter morsels. Well done! I wrapped it up so another party could enjoy this experience. And I'll wrap up this review with a recommendation. Samantha rocked it! Bon appetit Yelpers!

Yelp
We took my nieces here after the game and they loved the food! Service and food were great!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
The drinks were good, servers were nice, the food was good! The pulled pork with Mac and cheese was delicious!

A B.

Yelp
Rbar has been around forever. They have great food, great service and love their outdoor seating.

Sophie D.

Yelp
Reply: Yes the Philly cheesesteak made me sick I was nauseous lying on the floor after. I had the fries with it so it unless it was the fries it was definitely the meat

Robert M.

Yelp
We came here for a great lunch on New Year's eve. Not sure if it is a normal lunch, but I would definitely recommend based on this visit. The place is a bit small and the parking can be tough, but worth it. Plenty of seating outside relaxes things if you don't mind dogs and the weather works for you. The inside is pretty full with the bar, but they can definitely stand on their own in the restaurant biz. Whoever made the menu did great and the cooks keep up the charge. The service was the main miss of the event. I hope it was because of the holiday. They were very slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Being a holiday, slow and small - there were a lot of people looking for seats during the meal so once we got the food it felt like a speed eating contest. The minus star comes from a waitress who didn't write down the order but definitely should have. I'm never impressed when they don't write it down and am not amazed when it's blown. Items ordered never showed up and some in the party had some scrambled items added/subtracted from lunch items. Just write it down! We started with chips & salsa. No idea what those tasted like, so don't order it if they don't write it down. I had the pork tacos which were very good. Great pulled pork. I wanted to try the pork enchilladas as well, but I would thumb up these. They came with the BEST Charro beans I had this year. And the rice had some love, care and spices in it. This wasn't a canned mess from the a standard Tex-Mex wholesaler. This was unique and well enjoyed. Kitchen staff definitely deserved a 5-star. One of my friends had a fajita taco and gave me some of his fajita and onions. I may have taken a piece of his fingers in my enthusiasm! I really wish I had gone beef fajita tacos. I would suspect anything with beef fajita in it would be just as well cooked & seasoned. Finished off with a slice of pecan pie. It was good, but not the best I've had. Then again, I don't think I've ever had one I didn't like! I'd do it again if I could split it with someone. Pro tip: There are two doors. The one by the outdoor seating looks like the main entrance. Nope, it's the closest one to the stairs (you'll understand when you see it). Play local and go in the first door and just grab a seat. It's seat yourself.

Barbara P.

Yelp
I My favorite place to eat in Marble Fall! It's downtown so there are other things to do if you're there during the day! I've never eaten anything there I didn't like! Try the fried okra, the best I've ever eaten! Great burgers and fries! Fish tacos are really good! Pulled pork is yummy! The only problem here is there's not enough tables! You usually have to wait for a table!

Terri F.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, a hole in the wall, locality owned gem. Food was great, service is beyond exceptional. What a surprise treat tonight turned out to be. Pulled Pork Enchiladas very good, cremation and spicey delishisnrss. Charro Beans are fresh home cooked. SPICY MAC AND Chees BURGER was, just the right kick, creamy goodness. Excellent fries wee s a bonus. The service we received from Maddy, Aidin and Brandon was exceptional, helpful, and friendly, and their excellent recommendations could not have been better. Thank you for a wonderful meal and early evening meal for these Out of Towners from North Texas. We will be back.

Sarah J.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place checking out the downtown area of marble Falls and it was definitely a great find. The staff was super friendly and Jeannie the dog is pretty awesome. I had the draft beer The beer on tap in the El Jefe. I am not sure what they put in there queso But it's so good I might eat my own hand. The steak was tender perfectly cooked, the vegetables were fresh and the rice was awesome; different than anything I've ever had but awesome. The churro beads we're fantastic and again different than any I've ever had before. This place is a real gem and their menu was anything but boring but still had some thing for everybody.

James F.

Yelp
We stumbled onto R Bar while visiting Marble Falls for the Soap Box Races (now in it's 10th year). We had brought folding chairs from home; then peered up from street level at a magnificent patio overlooking the start line. This review is more about the venue, service level, and ambiance rather than food. We only ordered some chili cheese fries which were quite tasty. Even with the event going, service was amazing. Various staffers checking on us constantly making sure our mimosas never went empty. We were actually sitting at the table reserved for the mayor; the mayor of Driftwood took over until he arrived. We spent about 4 hours watching the fun. I'll come back to try more food! Yall go ahead and accept my reservation for next years derby and I'll save some time packing the trunk!

Yelp
I had not been here in a number of years. I had a recollection that I was not terribly impressed then but, now, I am happy to say I am impressed indeed! Our waiter and service was great. Food was great. Go here! I don't think you will be disappointed!

Mark C.

Yelp
New to the area and love this local gem. Really good food, fast friendly service and solid drinks. Comfortable interior with nice outdoor patio seating options. I've tried a few dishes here and none disappoint. Look at the specials board. Great deals on good food.

Crissy A.

Yelp
Love this place! It is a great sight to see when the owner comes out to help on busy nights. Most owners will not do that. She doesn't mind rolling up her sleeves to help her team. She also helps in the kitchen! The staff is always friendly and helpful when I can not make up my mind on what to eat. This place can get packed, so be patient if you have to wait for a table. It's worth the wait! The outdoor patio is a great place to sit if you have any four-legged kids! I've watched the prices steadily go up, but that has happened in every business around. Once again, it's worth it!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Great burger & fries. Well stocked bar, nice patio seating with great friendly & fast service.

Rich G.

Yelp
Well just drinks tonight on their back porch. It's a lovely evening for a couple of drinks with family. No food still stuffed from Thanksgiving turkey.

Dorothy P.

Yelp
Pulled pork enchiladas were amazing. Almost as good as the pork sandwich. So glad we decided to check this place out out of all the many places in Marble Fallsj. Wait staff and bar keep were exceptional. Music terrific.

Kels H.

Yelp
We love this place!! Food is delicious, great atmosphere and a nice patio! Fried okra is awesome.

Maddie B.

Yelp
My boyfriend & I found this place on yelp! And decided to try it since nothing else was really open and we were taking a day trip to Marble Falls. Best discovery ever!!! Every single thing we had was delicious, not to mention that the staff was great and were taking lots of visible precautions to prevent the spread of Covid (wiping down tables, door handles, wearing gloves, reducing seating etc..) I ordered the fried catfish and my boyfriend ordered the burger and let me try it, and both were so so good! The catfish was fried perfectly in a cornmeal (I think) batter and still tender and moist, and the French fries had a great little seasoning on them. Tasted like such a homemade recipe and reminded me of how my great-grandmother used to make catfish for us all during Easter. The burger was cooked perfect as well and had an amazing, juicy flavor, easily one of the best burgers I've ever had! I can't wait to come back to Marble Falls for more!

Brittani J.

Yelp
This place has amazing food and the atmosphere is great. Quick service and the bar is always a plus for me!

G B.

Yelp
Great place to hang out downtown, Cold beer, really good food, and a very attentive happy staff.

Izzy R.

Yelp
bow average food time and time again, mid as in never above just "ok." tasting and usually not even that. slow slow slow. service took about 20-30 minutes to get a tacos with rice beans but didn't even get the rice! ha! i always tell my mom how horrible this place is and how i never want to eat here but here we are. lord save your money for something of higher quality.

Morgan R.

Yelp
Mmmm if you need to warm up get cha-self an apple cider with fireball or their Autumn Mule Restaurant has a nice small town country vibe, only got drinks but food looked good. Nice place to hangout on a Saturday evening!

Eric B.

Yelp
Well deserved 5 stars. The food was amazing... best charo beans I've ever had! Enjoyed taco Tuesday pulled pork tacos. My compatriots say the beef quesadillas are fabulous. I tried the spicy Mac n cheese and it was delicious. Located in the cute Marble Falls downtown, the outdoor deck patio provides a special atmosphere in the beautiful March weather.

Lea M.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night for a few drinks. It was crowded with a good lively scene. We enjoyed our drinks and the service was ok.

Johna R.

Yelp
I stopped in here with my son on our way home from his cross country meet. We sat outside, which was lovely until we were sick from the smell of cigarette smoke. The staff helped us move inside- no problem and it turned out we were just in time for Trivia! We ended up playing and my son had the best time even though we did poorly! All the staff works together to make sure guests are taken care of, which I thought was really cool. Our server put in the wrong order for my son so I had my food several minutes before him, which was disappointing, but it was an honest mistake and I doubt it happens often. We started with the chips and queso which were free with a yelp check-in. I wasn't impressed, but my son enjoyed. I ordered the burger and it was really delicious. The sourdough bun was a nice change from regular hamburger bun. They also use the sourdough bun to make kids grilled cheese, which was kid approved. I loved the unique seasoning on their fries. There weren't any other kids there- so I'm not sure if this place is geared more towards adults. It was $4 house wine night along with the trivia. There were some pretty obnoxiously loud patrons so if that bothers you, I wouldn't go on a trivia night. However, I would say that there wasn't anything inappropriate going on so don't be afraid to take your kids!

LEIGH ANN B.

Yelp
Walked in and noticed it was quite cold. Only had one other customer. Asked to sit outside but the table was reserved so we were stuck inside. Asked the waitress who had put on a jacket if they could make it warmer. Answer was nope w a smile. Told us they would be getting full soon so nope. Had to do a change of clothes. Sweet tea was good. Ordered pulled pork sandwich w spicy macaroni. Big disappointment. Very very dry pork. I'll never understand how you dry out pork. Seasoned Fries were pretty good. Waitress was attentive. Picture looks better than it was.

Consuelo B.

Yelp
Best little bar and grill in marble falls. Was so cute inside with such warm customer service from our server. The food was delicious too. We had the fried okra, chief burger and chicken fried steak...soooo good!!!

Darlene M.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch. My hubby had the pulled pork tacos and I had the pulled pork enchiladas. Both came with rice and beans. Basically, same dish, only mine was rolled and covered with queso (yum!) and his was not...his had some pico de gallo on the tacos which was a nice extra kick. Meat was fantastic, tender, smoky great flavor. Beans were on point! The Cumin Rice- coriander rice- was different; I had never had anything like it. I thought it was good, my husband loved it. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Joseph V.

Yelp
You must stop here if you're in Marble Falls! The best place to eat and definitely a cool place to bring friends. Super friendly staff and an indoor or outdoor seating arrangement.

Kathy S.

Yelp
Party of 3 - Ordered: Fried Pickles Appetizer - Great Chicken Fried Steak - Good El Jefe Fajitas - So, So O Susana Taco Bowl - Skip it Service - Take a flag and try to flag someone down. Don't expect Drink refill without it. Pricing - Moderate, but not worth the cost. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 3PM. We heard about this place from The Day Tripper. (I'll have to write Chet, too, that his recommendation was not one of his best.) I think it might have been a better choice if I was looking to drink. Seems like it is perfect location. Lots of TVs and the bar group seemed to be entertained. Unfortunate experience.

Gail G.

Yelp
This place was awesome. It feels like a neighborhood bar, but the food quality rises far beyond what you'd expect to find. Lucked into it after spending some time at the Jeep Park. The pulled pork sandwich was great! The bun was perfect, the meat had just the right amount of smoky goodness and the bbq sauce had just a hint of heat. Of course Tabasco was readily available for those who want to turn it up. The fries were nicely seasoned, but not over the top. I had the very sweet, sweet tea, but there are plenty of beer and cocktail choices available. My niece had the blackened fish special and reported it was also flavorful and the Cole slaw was outstanding. If you're in the area, be sure to give this place a try. The patio area is also nice and shady.

Jeff L.

Yelp
This place feels like a small college town bar and grill. They have interesting local beers and the regulars. Food has been fantastic! I recommend going on Taco Tuesday. The prices are super low and food quality is top notch. Staff is very friendly but they need more help. Like most places these days they are trying to hire more help. You will need patience because it's usually busy and they don't have enough staff. Getting in eating, drinking and paying takes a full hour no less in my experience. Fair warning.
