"Now in the home stretch of our crawl, we brace ourselves for one final sandwich. It’s known for falafel, but how is the shawarma at Rafic’s? After some friendly service and a brief wait, our sandwiches are delivered to the table on a plate dressed with a handful of skinny and tart pickled peppers. The pita bread is thin and crisp, almost like a chip, and it holds everything together nicely. The meat is the most tender and juicy out of all of the sandwiches we’ve had on this shawarma sojourn." - Dorothy Hernandez

Rafic’s Falafel is hands down the best spot for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine! Their falafel is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with flavor in every bite. The tahini sauce is heavenly, and the fresh pita bread ties everything together beautifully. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing a quick takeout, Rafic’s never disappoints. If you’re a falafel lover, this place is a must-try!

Worst service ever. They have kids running the front with zero customer service experience. Walked in to place an order the kid said just a heads up it will be 30 mins I told him that's fine I'll wait since I'm dinning in. So I placed my order waited like 30 mins got half my order ready we started eating the first meal which technically was an appetizers type 8pc falafel and 4 pc chicken tenders. The other two orders that where supposed to come was sujok sandwich and a grilled chicken sub. Two of the fastest sandwiches you could ever make. I was in the food business I know. So I asked the kid there is also a chicken sub n sujok sandwich I still haven't got. They had me wait for an hour for two sandwiches that never came. I asked kid 3 times untill I lost my appetite i left me and the family out the door. With no acknowledgement of the owner which was busy service 10 of his family members who walked in 20 mins after I was there. I don't like giving bad reviews, but this was the worst establishment i went to. The owner needs to do a better job taking orders from customers and execute the orders 100 percent. Bad service. They need to go learn how really busy restaurants run back him and learn from them how they operate smooth.

Google
Their falafil is on point, checken subs 3/10. Mushy and does not taste good and not worth 12$. Manakeesh: has too much doe and not crispy and their pricess is little above other bakery. $6.50 for long cheese is too much. Would hate to see anoher bussiness close at this location, please work on your food and customer service.

First time trying Rafics after seeing a lot of people posting about how good their food is. Let the place setup not fool you. They have a great variety of food. I loved their Mix Grill and their staff are friendly and very helpful. Their sauces are delicious. Keep up the great work.

Google
Let me start off by saying that this was the worst food I’ve ever had. Whoever handled my food should never work in the food Industry ever. The real chicken sub wasn’t that good, the bread wasn’t even toasted. The menu said it comes with fries but they never gave me any. The Mac and cheese was burnt, I couldn’t even take three bites because it tasted like metal. The most disgusting food ever, place has gone downhill.

Google
Loved the food. The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff were so friendly and the prices were correct. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Google
Chicken was old and hard. How many times did you have to reheat it to get this color and hardness? Worst sandwich I have ever tasted.

Google
Excellent food, amazing prices. You have to be a little naive to expect ordinary service. The lack of atmosphere tells you the foods always gonna be good. Orders usually 10 min late but food always taste fresh. Recommend take out

Yelp
It's hard to get Middle Eastern food during Ramadan, as a lot of restaurants are closed during the day. Thankfully, Rafic's has a food truck that is part of Suhoor for Humanity (which takes place every Friday and Saturday after sundown during Ramadan). I'll admit, I took pause when I saw that the truck had a lot of younger looking people running it, as my friend who recommended it had said that Rafic had run a falafel shop back in Lebanon before he emigrated to the United States. Thankfully, it appears that the guys running the truck were true to his recipe and technique. Falafel sandwich ($10 with fries)- The fries were your standard industrial shoestring fries, unsalted and kind of greasy. Nothing to note here. The sandwich itself wasn't quite exactly what I was expecting; it had a good amount of lettuce which I think is more unusual, in addition to the tomato and pickles. The pickles were lighter on the sourness, which I loved since it didn't overwhelm the rest of the ingredients. The falafel themselves were amazing as they were perfectly crisp and stood up to the sauce, but also moist and tender on the inside. It was delicious. I wasn't hungry when I came, but I unexpectedly scarfed down the entire sandwich. I'll visit again when Ramadan is over!

Yelp
I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that Rafic's has THE BEST FALAFEL that I've ever had. My friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and grabbed some falafel as a midday snack -- one of the best decisions we've ever made. The staff at the restaurant is super friendly, and extended great hospitality to us. They recommended some sauces to have with the falafel, and made sure that we were having the best experience possible. Seriously, the food is absolutely fantastic, the staff is awesome, and the prices are solid as well. If you're interested in eating THE BEST FALAFEL you'll have in the US...well, you know where to find it, right?

Albert T.

Yelp
I've had food from Rafic's food truck before and remember the falafel being delightfully herbal and moist with a great crunch on the fried exterior. I never visited the main store but it was certainly on my bucket list and I wanted to make good on it this weekend. Imagine my surprise when I drove up and found the restaurant boarded up with a sign up posted on April 12, 2024 reporting that the building was unlawful to occupy. Through the one of the windows, I could see that the restaurant had a major fire that burned through the entirety of the interior. I wish the owners the best and I hope they can reopen one day in the future.

Anuj S.

Yelp
I thought I reviewed this place already, but apparently not. First, we went here on a Saturday when it was after lunch, but before dinner. Maybe around 330pm or so. I had read all about their awesome falafel so I had to give this place a shot. One thing I was really disappointed by is they do r make fresh hot pita bread for the table, like so many of the other nearby places do. I mean, not even if you want to order some. That is the highlight of these places to me. The falafel sandwich was pretty good. I also got a pack of 8 falafel to go and probably maybe a better sandwich at home with some hot toasty pita from a hometown fave back home in Chicago. Also, that includes their hot sauce, which nobody in the Dearborn/Detroit area seems to make. But still, it was good. Radic's hot sauce is really quite bad. Coming back to the sandwich, it was really good. The hummus was also good, but again they just give you some packaged up lafa bread to have with the hummus. The place is a small place. Nice and decent enough. It tends to be awkward when it's empty and you're the only one there at all. Anyway, it is probably a good takeout type of place. I don't know, because I'm not a local.

Sandra S.

Yelp
We seen this place on Tik Tok. Look good on Tik Tok. Nothing special about the falafel. The chicken sub was not tasty at all. Will not be going back.

Alina A.

Yelp
I have been coming here since 2015! The owner is very nice and always helps the community! I love coming for chicken tenders, falafel, and sandwiches! For parties, I order his sandwiches

Jojo M.

Yelp
Very slow service. I always order by calling the restaurant but every time I go to pick up my order they start to make it when I arrive. Everyone of their customers has this issue. I go after the time they told me as well. The food is not even worth waiting for. The place is clean and the staff is nice but the issue with this place is the wait time and most times their food. The chicken tenders the are best around. Otherwise , don't even bother ordering anything else.

alex c.

Yelp
Worst falafel ever Bad food they don't know how to cook food period. Not good at at all

Ralph N.

Yelp
Two words for the falafel here- "TOP NOTCH" try it to believe it if perfection exists and you got taste and class, you will know on the first bite. Taste the flavor and the perfect crunch in and out upon every bite. Until it dissolves in your mouth. If there was anything more than five stars, I would've given it to them and cut my story shorter‍

Brianna M.

Yelp
Disappointed in the service here. Very unorganized buisness. I'm very upset with my experience!!

Jonathan M.

Yelp
I've been to Dearborn before and I have heard how this place is so great when it comes to falafel. So we decided to finally come here and try it. What was great is that the food was fresh and made to order. The only small issue I would say was that the falafel could've been cooked for just a little bit longer and it was soft on some errands. But the flavor was great and I love when it came out warm and nice and crunchy

Sara G.

Yelp
Ordered the falafel sandwich..the falafel itself was really delicious..it was the parsley that was not like a tabouli salad..it was parsley..with very large hard stems..that was a real put off..they shd use leaves only..or a nice salad..otherwise..great sandwich..also front door was locked..had to go from the back..

Kim C.

Yelp
The food is very good. The taste and quality of our lunch WAS GREAT. I ordered from a DOORDASH lunch menu. But can't wait to order from a complete menu of DINNER ITEMS. TOTALLY SATISFIED.

Mark Z.

Yelp
Horrible Place. DONT GO HERE. Came in Sunday about 515pm. As soon as I walked in no air conditioning,it was 4000 degrees. I went to order, the credit card machine for customers wasnt working, he took my card swiped and didnt give me a receipt. After waiting 45 minutes that guy attempts to give 12 falafels, which wasnt my order. The guy knew this, tryed to pass it of to me. I ordered 8 boneless (out of reg wings), 6 falaffel, chicken shawarma sand. I was very upset and didnt want to wait any longer because it was so hot because no air. Also these people dont believe in wearing masks, saw 4 kids not wearing masks. Just like the reviewer before said, this place is a hot mess. Bunch of high school kids that dont care, with no supervision. Poorly ran business....Look at the pictures with employees not wearing masks.

Vinoth K.

Yelp
Nice place for lunch/carryout. Sometimes we get tasty food in small places only and this is one of it. Place is very clean. Ordered chicken tawook sandwich and Baba Ghanouj for carry out. Both were excellent. Quantity of baba Ghanouj doesn't look like small as the quantity was generous. Guy in counter (guess be owner) was very welcoming. I noticed there are more options like burgers, chicken tenders, sub other than sandwich and regular entrees. I will come back whenever need to have a quick lunch and try other options in the menu

Zeina A.

Yelp
This place can be hit or miss. Some days the chicken is super juicy and full of flavor and other times it's very bland. The chicken wrap was super bland, lacked cheese and maybe the mayo spread. Idk it wasn't all that great. The service seems a little unorganized when you go to pick up after you place an phone order. It's good, will probably continue getting chicken tenders from there bc they are better than some of the other halal crispy chicken places. I had the falafel once a while ago but I really don't remember if it was the best or not but I guess I'll update that once I try it again

Ellie D.

Yelp
Wow- the chicken wrap at this place was off the hook. We got carry out and had falafel sandwich and the crispy chicken wrap. The falafel was delicious- crispy, flavorful, good amount of sauce etc. a solid falafel wrap. But oh my goodness-- the crispy chicken wrap was so amazing. Chicken was crispy and juicy- not greasy for the crispy factor. There was some kind of sauce and then pickles and tomatoes. Just very well balanced and so sooo good. I would drive out of my way for it.

Jason E.

Yelp
Heard about this gem in Dearborn that word on the street said had amazing falafel so had to check-it out. Went for a late lunch with a friend and had the place all to ourselves besides the blaring Law & Order repeat on the big TV. The individual working at the time was very nice and helpful. We both ordered falafel sandwiches and asked what else was good and were steered towards the chicken fingers as the guy behind the counter said they were the best. Well I have to say I was very impressed! The chicken was coated perfectly and cooked just right and the homemade sauce that it was served with it was exceptional! I love fries and only eat really good ones and the ones served with the fingers made the cut! The falafel sandwich was no joke either and was as good if not better than the best ones around town I have had. I was very impressed with the food and service and will be back but the only reason I can't give it 5 stars because the decor and the bathroom were petty outdated and not too nice.

Moe A.

Yelp
The food was mediocre. I didn't really understand what the hype from the reviews was all about. I got a falafel sandwich and a grilled chicken sub. The food wasn't bad and it wasn't anything special. Also, they seem to have run out of some food options as I've asked for some items on the menu but they "ran out".

Eman A.

Yelp
This place is a joke! Every time I call they never answer this is not the first time. I've called over 5x and I never got anyone to answer. They say they close at 11pm and I call around 8pm.

Earl C.

Yelp
I was craving fried chicken wings. I saw their feed on instagram and was salivating over the picture MyThy H. posted. It was around 20 degrees, I intentionally left my schedule open just so I could drive all the way to Dearborn and visit this restaurant. I ordered the Fried Chicken with Garlic Cilantro, along with a side of rice. The entree came out with fries and they also brought out the AMAZING SAUCE everyone talks about. I thought the chicken was wonderful and fell off the bone. The AMAZING SAUCE held its name; I even asked them what the ingredients are and they were kind enough to provide. The size of the portion was a nice size. I even took some leftovers home. Every time I go out of town and head to NYC, first meal I have is (L36) Chinese Chicken Wings Combo from Shanghai (http://www.yelp.com/biz/shanghai-new-york). Their wings are great! We order from them so many times, they even know our address. I don't know if that's a good thing... But since I can't have their chicken wings in Michigan, I'll settle for Rafic's version of friend chicken. I'll definitely be back! Thanks for your friendly attitude and great food!

Erik M.

Yelp
A friend suggested Rafic's while we were in town for an event, and luckily they were still open after we left. The interior leaves something to be desired, but it is clean and well-kept. The food, though, was all very impressive. There were a lot of us waiting, and we ordered a lot of food, so it took a bit for it all to come out. The falafel plate we ordered was big and came with super crispy falafel and plenty of tahini. The falafel is much different than other restaurants - perfectly crisp, not dry, and spiced perfectly. The soujouk sandwich I got was also great. Juicy, with a bit of heat and good vegetables. We were fortunate enough to get some hummus and fattoush as well. The fattoush dressing is a little aggressive and the pita in it got soggy relatively quickly. I could have done with a little less, although it tasted good. The hummus though, was perfectly smooth and fresh. Having eaten a lot of local hummus, this is some of the best if not the best I've had. I'm holding back on the five stars for some future reviews and dinners, but this is on my top list of places to eat in Dearborn now - and so close to the bakeries I love. If you're still hungry when you finish - yogurtopia is connected.

Yelp
HANDS DOWN THE BEST SHAWARMA IN MICHIGAN!!!!! It is the tenderest, most freshest chicken shawarma I've ever had. Period. This place beats every other middle eastern restaurant out there. Their prices are fantastic and unbeatable. Their quality is unparalleled. You will not be disappointed. Oh and their crispy chicken subs are YUMMMMMMY!!!!!

Alawi A.

Yelp
Only go there couple times and by far there chicken tenders are amazing hands down and there special sauce is simply delicious. Would go there aging for sure

Tamara Q.

Yelp
Love this place! I typically have a lot of beef with falafel that's not green on the inside but this was delish! Nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the in and seasoned perfectly. I also tasted the shawarma sandwich which was really yummy as well but the must have is the sajouk (spicy sausage) sandwich. AMAZING. What I really like is the sandwiches are a perfect size, not ridiculously big like other places. My kids ordered chicken fingers (although they ended up eating from the shawarma and falafel too) and they were randomly really good too. They looked like they were made there, they weren't your typical frozen chicken tenders most places serve. The absolute best thing from this place is their awesome sauce. Not sure what's in it (possibly some tahini and red pepper paste) but do yourself a favor and dip everything in this. Your sandwiches, your chicken, French fries, your fingers... Whatever..... Then take some home and bathe in it. The owner is also a funny and sweet dude. He kept bringing my kids extra French fries and threw in extra chicken and didn't even charge us for the sauce. There's plenty of dine in space, but you can order for take out as well. I always prefer to have my food hot and fresh so I always rec you do the same when you can.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I had to try Rafic's about seeing a picture that a foodie page I follow on Instagram posted of their chicken wings. I arrived shortly after opening, and they were still preparing the restaurant for that day. But I received my order of chicken wings and fries in a timely manner. They were really good and served with their house made dipping sauce. The sauce wasn't mixed well. They may have rushed it since I arrived right after they opened. I only tried a small amount of it. It seems to be a spicy mayo type of sauce. I would return for the wings, and after reading reviews, I'm curious about the tenders.

Amanda S.

Yelp
Best. Falafel. Ever. Seriously. I've been hearing about Rafics falafel for years. His falafel is famous in Bint Jbeil, Lebanon. I'm so glad they decided to share their family recipe with all of us. Be sure to order more than one falafel sandwich or get the falafel plate. It's that good!! The service was great and very quick. They are so friendly and personable!

Lindsey T S.

Yelp
Can you give a place 20 stars?? This spot is the grand daddy of yummy delicious omg wow coregasm food !! A friend @DetroitFoodNetwork on Instagram recommended I go - Don't get me wrong the Falafel was incredible alongside the pickled turnip parsley and thanini!! The mix and way the items were all laid out where perfection, there was never a bad bite ! The wrap was rolled tight and right - not ovedr grilled and not soggy. But really what we need to discuss and for you to go and get in your car and eat the chicken fingers !! go go go perfect cripsyness.

Aya L.

Yelp
Delicious chicken tenders & great falafel. Great chicken fattoush too, but not as great when I order it to go? Still this place is definitely a must visit. Many options!

Cathy S.

Yelp
I've tried falafel at many middle eastern restaurants before and hands down this is my favorite. They're crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside with just the right amount of spice. We also tried the chicken sub with their signature "awesome" sauce. I'm not sure what it's made of but they seriously need to start bottling that stuff so I can put it on everything! Everyone was friendly and the food came out pretty fast. This is quickly becoming my new favorite restaurant for grabbing a fresh sandwich. They have a few tables for dining in or you can take it to go.

Saeed Y.

Yelp
The best food there I been there once And I had seen the good service and delicious food. Now Always making orders from there 5 starts for Rafic's

Ushna K.

Yelp
We came in to try their new item chicken and waffles! It's not on their menu, but I saw someone post it on Instagram and had to come try it, and I'm soooo glad I did!!! My husband has tried chicken and waffles at many places and he said this was one of the best he's had. We also got some chicken wings and shares a sojuk sub. Everything was delicious & the prices are so good for the quantity!

Ryan M.

Yelp
Rafic's has catered a countless number of lunch meetings that I do for work, when I'm in the area. This place has the best chicken tenders around and I never have an issue with running out of food from here. Great place.

Laura P.

Yelp
I go here for lunch whenever I can't handle another day of work cafeteria food. It is good. Sometimes it's better than others. I would have to say that the awesome sauce deserves 5 stars all on it's own. But, maybe because I grew up right outside of Dearborn or because I currently live in city with a heavy middle-eastern population, but it's not as good as most places I go to. Their falafel is good, don't get me wrong, but I figured it would be stellar considering it's in the name. I'd still rather go to other places but the folks who work here are nice and it's close to my place of employment and they do have a well priced lunch special. NOTE: I don't eat meat, but if I did, I would totally try some of their fried chicken. It looks crazy good and everyone seems to loveee it. My review is based purely on falafel.

Amurtz A.

Yelp
Spicy falafel sandwich. I gave 2 stars cause I don't like spicy food. they increase the price by $1

ian m.

Yelp
We stopped in on our way through Dearborn because of the positive reviews. The atmosphere leaves a lot to desire, but the food lived up to its reputation. Solid all around. The fried chicken is perfect and every bite was amazing. The basics (humus, tabouli) were simple yet authentic. The portions for the plates and dinners could feed a small army. There were enough leftovers that we were able to get two meals out of one. I am not sure what else is around in that neighborhood, but if you're looking for a new place to eat or just passing through, this will not let you down.

Martin W.

Yelp
I have never eaten food as good as Rafic's Falafel. I had a shawarma sandwich to begin, and it was heavenly. All the flavors worked together in tandem to create a beautiful experience complemented by the crunch of the bread and the tenderness of the meat. Already full, I decided to have their chicken wings. Not knowing what to expect from ordering an American staple at a Lebanese restaurant, I couldn't help but have high hopes given the quality of their sandwiches. I was blown away by how much it exceeded my hopes. The wings were amazingly crunchy, yet still succulent. The fries they came with were crunchy on the outside, but just the right texture inside, and had a unique and brilliant taste. This is to say nothing of their amazing falafel. Not only is the food an almost religious experience, but the service is top notch. I came with a large group on a service trip, and they served all of us with efficiency and ease. Not only that, but they provided us with free water, falafel, and halvah (all of which was delicious). They were kind, courteous, and took care of everything we could ask for. Not only that, but the atmosphere of the place is cozy and we'll maintained. The portions were huge and amazingly filling, and lots of people in the group ended up taking food home with big smiles on their faces. I myself ordered a second sandwich to take home because I could not get enough. I cannot say enough good about Rafic's Falafel. Anyone who happens to be in Dearborn, or in Michigan in general, owes it to themselves to stop in. I downloaded the yelp app specifically to give them a review, and I hope this pushes you to experience it for yourself.

Alex R.

Yelp
You can grab as good as an Arabic sandwich here as anywhere in East Dearborn. They know what they are doing and the food is always on point. Highly recommend.

Anna D.

Yelp
The restaurant was highly recommended by a Lebanese friend so as I was in the area decided to give it a try. The place is casual, probably more popular for carry out but still clean and well thought through. As to the service, I was greeted right away upon arrival and offered a menu. The food was served very quickly but then I was left alone. I know they were busy as it was dinner time, so I didn't expect much of anything it terms of service. Ordered tabbouli salad and falafel plate. Both were delicious. Would definitely come back.

Amee S.

Yelp
Drove there for some falafels and was disappointed. We are used to Chicago's Mediterranean offerings such as Pita Inn and Naf Naf, the pita at Rafic's was a thin pita you can't even stuff the falafel into. They were out of Baba Ghanoush. The place was not a sit down place, but better suited for carry out. I liked the pickled veggies the best. But have had better falafel, and was disappointed by the Dearborn offering.

Khair L.

Yelp
Absolutely monstrous portions. Seriously, be ready to take food home. It also doesn't hurt that the food is also phenomenally good tasting and the service was outstanding. You can tell they really care for making sure their customers are comfortable and taken care of. If you're looking for an Arabic restaurant, look no further. You've found one of the best.

Ali A.

Yelp
Bad service and bad food except Falafl Sandwich...the place looked not clean and nor neat...

Kelly S.

Yelp
We weren't sure what we wanted to try this visit so the gentleman at the front made a few suggestions and we happily agreed. Every thing was delicious, the deboned chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. I wasn't sure about the falafel the first visit but this time they were crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful inside. I'm already a fan of the wings & tenders a la awesome sauce. Try a platter and get a bit of everything!

Rukshana M.

Yelp
Amazing chicken wings and tenders. My whole family Loves this place. Friendly customer services and tasty chicken with so much flavor

Frank H.

Yelp
Pros: Good size portions Good prices Tenders were good Cons: Fatoosh with no bread(huge cumbers) Fries were dried out Mac and cheese was awful Falafel was really dry And the place is really run down inside, I was shocked because it does not show in the pictures on Yelp Took 40 mins for my order which I don't mind as long as it's worth it

Samantha R.

Yelp
The best falafel I've ever had - it has an excellent, cinnamon flavor. Their foul and falafel salad is also recommended. Friendly staff and clean space!

Mina B.

Yelp
There was string in my beef shawarma sandwich and the color of the meet was quite off putting. The falafels were extremely undercooked. I wouldn't recommend.

Ali I.

Yelp
Easily my favorite restaurant of all time. Amazing prices for food that are 10 times the value. Best chicken I have ever had, no where else comes close. Freshest bread in town. Homemade pickles and vegetables. I honestly say that I go there at least twice a day usually, and they always take great care of you. Try it, and try it again. You can never get bored of it. Do yourself a favor and have the awesome sauce. Well worth it to any meal

Melanie H.

Yelp
This place is not good. After reading the reviews I drove from ypsilanti to check this out and was disappointed. The wings were hard fried and they tossed my lemon garlic wings in garlic sauce! What! The chicken tenders were hard fried. The ambience of the spot was not clean or appealing. I won't be back.
