March 2025. Consistently amazing! This was not our first visit and definitely will not be our last. Once again the whole experience was impeccable. The team are charming and knowledgeable and do everything with flair. The food has such depth of flavour and every dish was a delight. It's hard to pick a favourite with so many taste sensations on the menu - cod cheek, halibut, duck, and more - everything was sublime, including the champagne. Congratulations to Dan and the team! Michelin star is surely well overdue!

We spent an evening in the Rafters enjoying the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and were blown away not only by the delicious food and excellent wine choice but also the outstanding service! All staff members, whether waiter, manager, cook or somelier, were absolutely lovely. And very honest when we were about to accidentally overpay. We would come back and enjoy the whole experience again in a heartbeat. A big thank you to all of you for the great experience! <3

This is by far the best restaurant in all of Sheffield. The variety in food was unmatched, I have never in my life tasted anything with such elegance and texture to match. The texture of the foods… if I didn’t like the taste it did not matter the texture made up for it and completely changed my mind. Every dish I had was a new taste or texture I had never experienced before. We had the kitchen table and if you’re gonna go here one time I would recommend just spending the extra for the kitchen table. The Sous chef Luke was so kind and when he learned that we were America he was so excited to let us try his Reuben bbq dish. I can happily say it was the best bbq flavor I have ever had, maybe because I wasn’t having to clean my fingers from bbq sauce after every bite, but it was so amazing. Hats off to you guys, every award is most definitely deserved. One day I hope to return and try more of the masterful work these chef’s create. Hats off to the waiters as well they were very knowledgeable, well spoken and kind. 11/10.

We finally made it to Rafters after wanting to visit for so long, and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely outstanding, and the service was just as impressive. Was really surprising they put a special touch on the menu with my name, made the experience more special. Honestly, we’re surprised it hasn’t earned a Michelin star yet. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, making the experience even better. We’ll definitely be returning soon for special celebrations!

With this level of attention to the smallest details I'm surprised that Rafters does not have a Michelin star. Another wonderful experience, great staff (thanks restaurant manager Ben) and the dishes were simply superb. Highly recommend the kitchen bench were you can see everything being prepared. We've dined at many Michelin stared restaurants and Rafters is as good as, if not better than those with a star, hope that the guide will soon recognise what the head chef Dan and his team are doing up here in Sheffield.

If I could leave 6 stars I would, having visited the Kitchen Bench tonight I was not left with an ounce of disappointment. The menu ate exceptionally well, it’s takes you on a journey from the first bite to the last, there was genius in every course with their twists on classic dishes. The kitchen bench was very generous with the courses and both my partner and I left with our bellies full, I cannot recommend this place enough, the food perfection, the staff wonderful and the atmosphere magical. A true pleasure from start to finish and a place I’d return to in a heartbeat we loved it.

Yelp
Rafters is a fantastic restaurant and a real treat! Visited for a tasting experience a while back, but it's still in the forefront of my mind. The wine tasting experience really compliments the dishes and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Was such a lovely touch to get the breakfast bag at the end. Had really nice ground coffee inside, which we enjoyed the following morning. It's got such a lovely atmosphere and I'm already hoping to book in again with my partner. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This restaurant is in the upstairs area of an old building, but the decor is modern and chic. We had the 44 pound evening dinner and it was excellent. We started with Gin and Tonic marshmallows which were very unusual in a good way. The next course was a fried quail egg with truffle mayo. The outside of the egg was slightly crisp and the yolk was runny. Delicious. The egg was also accompanied by a spoon with mackerel foam (?). The black treacle bread was excellent. My starter was lightly smoked wild sea trout with sorrel and crab. My main course was veal with jersey royal potatoes and asparagus with leek emulsion. Dessert was a sorrel and apple "cheesecake" with chopped hazelnuts and almonds. All of the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was professional and informative without being stuffy or intrusive. Excellent meal all around.

Yelp
My third visit here, and yet to be disappointed. Expensive yes, but the menu is imaginative without being silly or quirky, a good deal of care is taken, and corners are not cut. Rafters would hold its head up in London and well deserves its Michelin listing. Service is very young but polite and willing. There are but two tasting menus but both are excellent, varied., and well paced. Corkage is rather high at £20, the excellent cocktails quite expensive too, but the wine klist is fairly priced. An evening well spent and highly recommended.

Yelp
I have to say that of all the restaurants I've been to, this was definitely one of the best. I agree with a previous poster when they described it as an intimate hideaway, and the focus is most definitely on the high quality of their food. Cooked to perfection, everything on the menu seemed both exquisite and imaginative. Who would have thought that lychee would partner with curry quite so well?

Yelp
This is a little gem that doesn't need to advertise because those who are serious about good food already know about it. It is tucked away about half a mile from the fashionable Ecclesall Road. Sheffield has had a lot of attention for it's 'award winning' restaurants in recent years but this was the first and in my opinion, the best. It is not a 'place to be seen in' more an intimate hideaway where you can indulge your senses with culinary delights. Booking ahead is essential. If you want to impress someone with the food rather than the location, then this is the place.
