Five Stars for Ragin' Cajun! Our most recent meal was ordered on a Friday during Lent.
So, no meat for those of us who are Catholic.
Mr. Q. confirmed that alligator meat falls into the category of "not meat" for this purpose and intent.
Here are a few of the items we ordered:
Gator and Taters - Mr. Q. pronounced this to be fantastic. Crispy and flavorful!
1/2 Fried Shrimp and 1/2 Shrimp Etouffee - we shared this. Mr. Q. sampled the Etouffee, and I stretched the rest into 3 meals. Shrimp, rice, sauce. A little spicy, but not too...
Reheated beautifully in the little aluminum dish, in my home oven. Hope you all know not to put metal in the microwave! (Of course, you could transfer your leftovers to a microwave safe plate for re-heating)
There was nothing leftover from our meal, other than the Shrimp Etouffee.
So, the crispy fried shrimp disappeared, as did the beignets. These are basically a light, rectangular shaped donut, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Served with a little chocolate syrup dip.
I've eaten beignets right across from Jackson Square in New Orleans. Trust me when I say Ragin' Cajun's are just as authentic tasting!
I'll also mention briefly the mac & cheese, as well as their pecan pie. Pricey, but delicious, and a good sized portion! We split the pie, and there was ice cream served on the side.
If you love N'awlins style cuisine, here's the place.
To quote a famous Cajun, who's no longer with us, I'm sure he'd agree with me and say, "I guar-an-teee!"
