Google
Best cider in all of Southern California. If you are into locally sourced natural ingredients, everything here is made with ingredients sourced in San Diego County, and the fermentation is all naturally occurring with the yeasts that exist on the skins of the fruit that's pressed. It is the most true to form, naturally created, alcohol that you can get. When you visit, you can see where it's all created and get to meet the people responsible for making it. All of the ciders are made with time and patience. You can show up and have a drink that's been barrel aged for 5+ years every time. Since it's all natural beverages, the drinks that you have will never be identical twice. It is really a wonderful experience of old-world alcohol creations. The long pour Spanish Sidra is a fun experience to have when you visit. They also have meads made with whole fruits that are locally sourced and other unique beverage like the Pommeau. There are tons of bottled offerings to bring to go as well. It's a wonderful place to bring a group of people. It's a small venue, but there is plenty of seating between the tasting room and outdoor patio. It can get a bit chilly, so bring a jacket when it cooler out. The ambiance is wonderful and welcoming, just like the owner, staff, and usual patrons. There is tons of parking. You can bring food or have food delivered while you hang out. There is tons of parking on the street and in the parking lot. Don't miss out on one of the most unique and locally sourced small business and beverage creation artists in San Diego.

Google
Only place where meads taste better than ciders (strictly personal taste). Nice little patio to drink, but get your own food to pair with the ciders.

Robert Bott

Google
Recently visited Raging Cider & Mead and had an amazing flight of ciders. The taproom is not big, but they have indoor and outdoor seating. I sat at the bar, which allowed conversations with the bartender who was very friendly and taught me about ciders since I'm a novice. Definitely Raging Cider & Mead is a hidden gem!

Dina Zacarias

Google
Small place but the Cider and Mead are very tasty -stop by on a rainy evening and we drink the hot Mead it was delicious 😋 they use local apples 🍎 from Julian.

Maximilian Shakal

Google
Nice spot close to work with a friendly staff member. They have local fruits from Julian and also have an informative website telling their story, how they make it, etc. Although I found out that cider isn't my go-to beverage (just too sour and sparkly), it was pleasant nonetheless and I'd be willing to tag along with someone. I got the L'enfant one.

Max Stone

Google
Great place for traditional cider and mead. Small but has a good vibe and the outdoor seating is always a plus. Great staff as well!

Google
Love this place! Ciders and meads are spot on, Dave and Ken are awesome and knowledgeable, ambiance is great and I always have a good time here. They bring in yummy food vendors too! Get here..you need to try it. Bring a friend!

Pat Anibaldi

Google
Youve gotta try this cider... insane! Oak barrel aged to perfection. Fun place to chill out. Hidden gem of town for sure. Ken is the man, he makes it i.

Yelp
This place is a great hidden gem, all the ciders and meads I have had are so tasty, they have a unique funky taste but in a good way. I come in often, there isn't anything on the menu I don't like. The service is always good, they have plenty of parking and there is a small outdoor patio where I can bring my dog and sip on my mead. I highly recommend this place.

Justin F.

Yelp
Best Cider in San Diego. Natural ferments from actual local cider apples. Something for everyone, dry, sweet, funky. Service is always to notch and live music for their anniversary parties. The inside of there place is cozy and there is a nice outside area as well. No two batches are exactly the same so it's fun to try different vintages. They also make some good meads, cyser etc and you can even find some that are on the dryer side.

Thomas P.

Yelp
The service is always impeccable fun inviting seating area inside or out. The ambiance is perfect matched for the location. The cider and the meads are the best around. Make sure to come check them out. Once you do you won't want to go elsewhere.

Bev S.

Yelp
Very cool little place with some terrific cider flavors. They weren't overly sweet like some ciders can be, very bright and delicious! We sat out on the quaint patio covered with passionfruit tree vines. The guy running the place was extremely nice and informative when we asked questions about the ciders... everything is sourced locally from North County. We didn't try any of the meads while there, but we did pick up a bottle to take home... I'm sure it will be awesome!

Becca S.

Yelp
Great local cider and mead company. The front patio is nicely shaded and the selection of meads and ciders was impressive. Everything we tried was delicious.

Jose C.

Yelp
I like how small the place is & how relaxing it is here. Been coming here since 2019 &, despite having few options of mead, the meads always hit the spot & they're always refreshing. My favorite meads are La Peche & Buck Nekid. Although I tend to drink those the most, these guys always make great drinks.

Mia M.

Yelp
This little hidden spot is a tremendous entry into ciders and meads if you are new to this side of things. The ambiance is cute, the presentation is carefully refined and the selection is wide enough to satisfy anyone's palette but holds you close enough to the core of cider and mead to make you get a feel for what they have to offer. Service is great and knowledgeable so if you have the chance to get there when it's not busy give the bartender a chance to recommend and be open to what raging has in store!

Amy K.

Yelp
I came cuz I love cider and wanted to support some local businesses. The ciders were good but more on the dry and sour side. Come try for your self. I'll be back for sure.

Craig W.

Yelp
Small tasting room serving cider, perry (pear cider), and mead but worth a visit. I really liked the perry and mead we tried (especially the mead which was an absolute knockout). The ciders were good, too. Seating inside and a nice patio outside. Bring your own food, if you'd like. Kid friendly. Board games available inside. I'll be interested in coming again to try their new offerings.

Kendra S.

Yelp
Friendly and knowledgeable server! He was so helpful with picking out the tasting flights!

Erika M.

Yelp
I have been obsessed with mead lately. I finally got to try this location here in San Marcos. It's very small and intimate. They have 3 beads available and cider. I chose to do a flight so I could try all the mead. A flight comes in 4, so the bartender recommended to choose a cider for my 4th option. I chose the Seckel pear cider. It was good! It was sweet and you could taste the pear. Santa rosita mead: it was a plum with light sweetness. La mure: blackberry flavor with more sweetness Wild: it was a pear but tasted like olives to me. The bartender was super nice and hospitable. I would love to come back to try more ciders. Although lost cause meadery is still my favorite for mead.

Dustin J.

Yelp
Great Mead and cider, my favorite place in So Cal so far! If you are in the area try some mead you won't regret it!

Princesa L.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars for originality and being new. Met Ken who works there and he's just so awesome. He's super knowledgeable, personable, and nice. I love the fact that he can explain the process of making the meads and cider! The place isn't very big and it's located basically on Furniture Row. Lots of parking when we went and a safe area. All the meads and ciders seem to be made on site which is cool so you can see the barrels. There's a nice menu on the board and you can choose which one you wanna try or grab a flight. My bf, his brother, and I grabbed a flight which had 7 ciders and 3 meads. I loved the 8th drink which is a mead. The flavor is guava and strawberry. I also learned that mead is made with honey water. I thought this drink was so delicious and ended up getting a full glass. Drank all of it and was super full. But if you need a snack, they have kettle chips by Mrs. Vickies. My bf and his brother finished off the flights since I already made my drink choice. After the flights, they picked their favorite drank and we hung out. Ken told us how they have special releases and they're having a gathering I believe on Sept. 15th which costs $50. There will be Spanish music, food, and of course, ciders and mead! I really like this place and Ken, so I'm definitely coming back!

Saleen D.

Yelp
They have cider & meads for all palates! Sweet, semi sweet, dry, & one mead that was ultra sweet. Friendly bartender. Small selection of meads but strong. Dog friendly, & there is a patio outside.

Johnny B.

Yelp
Quiet spot with really good meads and ciders. The warm mulled cider on the cold night we went really hit the spot.

Katie P.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after an escape room and the cider flights were awesome! Do yourself a favor and go there to try La Peche mead, it's out of this world! The place has plenty of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your flights, very COVID friendly!

Alex H.

Yelp
Came here for the mead, ended up trying all three plus some ciders. One outstanding mead, some good ones, but ciders were a little too dry and wine-like for my tastes. If you like non-sweet ciders, this place is for you. Out of the three meads, there was one more traditional mead that had a strong, sweet honey flavor. Much stronger than I'm used to with other meads I've tried, even though they're all made of honey. That day it was #9 on their list. Delicious! The other two were good, but not memorable. Having only 3 made it easy to try the whole menu, so I moved onto cider. I wasn't really a fan of any, but that's because I like sweet cider and theirs were all dry. Not bad, just not my type. Large selection of dry ciders if that's your thing. Nice bartender and a cozy little outdoor seating area make it worth a visit.

Marlene K.

Yelp
We've only been here about three times and we already feel like regulars. The owner, Dave, and bartender, Kenny, are very personable and their passion for Cider & Mead shows. They are happy to share all they know and educate those of us who have only had bottled cider before. Dave, the owner, started making cider because his wife had an issue with gluten, which he explains on his website. Being someone who also can't do gluten, I can relate and appreciate that he does this! The apples they harvest are from some of their own orchards where they use no pesticides and they strive to work with farmers from other orchards that don't use pesticides in rounding out their production. Being someone who eats organic whenever possible primarily to avoid pesticides and GMOs, that's important for me! Kenny operates the place as if it's his own and is super attentive and will gladly sit down and chat with you, or leave you to enjoy your cider if you wish. He's got a great dog named Indy that makes visiting fun, too!

Jen R.

Yelp
Always a good time had at Raging Cider and Mead :) it's quite a tiny little space but there always seemed to be plenty of seating whenever we would visit. Usually it would just be my husband and me, but on occasion, we would bring our buddies and they always enjoyed the libations. They have rotating taps based on seasonal availability and you can't go wrong with the flights, which are 5 small glasses for around $12. They're great to share - or keep to yourself if you're indecisive. If you want to try something really unique, get the Wynola Scrump!

Mirna E.

Yelp
I came here for the first time a few weeks ago during their vegan food Friday event, which is the main reason for coming. We had some delicious food from Harmless Eats and I can't wait to visit again soon! I enjoyed tasting the ciders and have honestly never had such a versed tasting experience. We ended up buying a bottle to drink at home. The staff was friendly but the venue was small and crowded. They did have some outdoor seating but it was too chilly for my two year old. We sat in bar height stools with my daughter on my lap and hardly any table room (used a ledge) to place our food/drinks. Overall, we enjoyed the drinks and food and would definitely come back. I'm grateful for this place hosting a vegan friendly food/vendor event.

K K.

Yelp
I've put off writing a review of Raging Cider for years because I was too self-conscious about my ability to express in words the sublime ecstasy of their cider offerings. They are the gold standard for REAL cider in all of San Diego.

Jason H.

Yelp
I love Raging Cider so much I joined the club! Super unique Cidery that wild ferments cider and has several barrel aged ciders. The mead is fantastic too with dry and semi sweet options. They have a bottled Pet Nat which I liked so much that I ended up buying 2 cases. The Carr family does a great job with their products.

OC Girl B.

Yelp
Great place, cute patio, and super helpful bartender. Our first time trying Mead! We are big on Craft sour beers Pleasantly surprised with Mead. Great sour options that were not tooo sweet. We have found something new and exciting to experience

Kandee H.

Yelp
Came here for the Yelp Brew-venture to Spock out the ciders, since I'm allergic to most alcohol and can't go to the regular breweries that usually don't serve ciders. I was throughly impressed with the variety of ciders and found one that I really enjoyed. The Meade guava and strawberry is where it's at for me. The owner was so nice, he explains the different flavors and recommending them according to your tastes. I was even able to taste them before I decided which, was really sweet. We received a souvenir glass which was super neat with our 2 pours purchase as part of the yelp event but I also ended up buying a growler of my fav so you know I'll be back. There was also greater grilled cheese in the house selling their famous grilled cheese sandwiches which you can also get on gluten free bread. Thank Issac and Brad. It was so nice meeting everyone that came out and thanks to Danny and the others for hosting a cool night. SYOY!

John S.

Yelp
Walking up to the bar, the bartender was very nice and accommodating. I liked that there weren't TOO many choices of ciders. The even better thing about the ciders was that they were all pretty high in alcohol. I had the Jonathan and Wynola and they were both tasty! I couldn't even tell there was alcohol in it which makes it very dangerous! Overall, a clean and cozy little brewery... but kinda in the middle of nowhere in San Marcos. I really root for businesses like this to do well, but I feel the location isn't very conducive to business. 5 Stars all around for the brewery and the event!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Finally was able to drop by Raging Cider and Mead Co and was NOT disappointed. We just had to try everything and ended up taking home Plum Jerkum cider, Ode mead, and Santa Rosita mead. Also, got a bottle of Random Apples, made from wild apples in SD County. Really great ciders and meads and nice patio sitting area.

Gus L.

Yelp
Ive been in to Raging Cider and Mead a few times now and always had a great time. The spot is nestled close to the freeway, but laid out well with both inside and outside seating. The staff are always friendly and very passionate about what they do. The ciders and meads are natural fermentation for the most part, which means the flavors and aromas are not your average in most cases. Yes, you can get dry and sweet varieties, and some that are also high int eh ABV. All of which can be fun of course. On a recent visit they had a mead that tasted semi sweet, but had the aroma of peanut butter. Totally crazy, but it worked. Get in here and enjoy a few then let me know. Cheers!

Tellur F.

Yelp
The Carr family makes some BOMB ASS cider! It's a bit pricy...but you know what they say: you get what you pay for. I've sampled many of their unique creations and have never been disappointed. One memorable selection was their peach mead. I normally HATE meads...as they are often far too sticky sweet. I tried a sample just to be polite and was blown away. Dry as a bone and delicious! I also like that they often have a good variety of higher alcohol offerings as well. Next time you're in San Diego County definitely check them out!

Erich C.

Yelp
After hitting up Sky Zone with our kids, we were driving back home and noticed a sign on the road for Raging Cider & Mead. We're big mead (and cider) fans so of course we abruptly turned around and parked. This was on a weekend, early afternoon so the place was virtually empty. We loved the interior...and especially the mead. Lots of options, so we chose a flight and picked two meads and two ciders. All four were very strong. Mead can get into double-digit ABV numbers, but I didn't know cider could. The "Golden Delicious" was 10.5% and you could taste every bit of that alcohol. Super potent. We liked all of our tasters and sipped a splash of a couple more. The gentleman at the counter (Kenny? I think) was very personable and gave us lots of info on how they make the meads. It was a cool experience and I can't wait to come back to try more ;)

Nima D.

Yelp
Very good selection of meads and ciders! Staff is super friendly as well. I enjoy the apple trees outside which are nice to sit by if your going to drink at the spot. Very good quality!

Danny W.

Yelp
Raging is the ABV American Dream. The owner John, started brewing his own beer about 10 years ago and after his wife developed a gluten intolerance he switched to cider and mead. To date, he turned his little home brew passion project into a side business and if the 5 star reviews on any indication, the people love his product. I've definitely been getting into mead lately, but sometimes they can be really sweet. This is where Raging separates themselves from some of the other spots in town. They do a much dryer style that I can drink a couple of and it doesn't make my mouth hurt. There's several flavor profiles and they were definitely more curated for a palate like mine. It's a small, but quaint tasting room and has a really cute little outdoor patio area. If you like mead or cider and are in the area it's absolutely worth a pit stop.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
The hubby and I really enjoy this place. I can't really drink beer, so I was really happy to find a cider brewery. What I'm also very happy about is the alcohol % and none of that Angry Orchard BS. The owner is awesome and speaks of the apples like a wine maker would talk of their grapes. A big plus: Harmless Eats vegan popup most Fridays!

Mario V.

Yelp
Great selection of ciders not too many meads but very flavorful meads. The poblano infused mead taste exactly like roasted poblano peppers it was great!

Guadalupe C.

Yelp
First time coming to a cider & Mead location and I was blown away with the quality! They harvest their own orchards and the variety of flavors was just great. Ken is so knowledgeable about what he serves trust his recommendations!

Ellis D.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Run by Liverpool supporters, this place is a breath of fresh air. The cider isn't your Strongbow or Angry Orchard kind of rubbish. It's true, high % cider! We got the pleasure of meeting Leigh, one of the bartenders last night and today. Truly an excellent employee who is knowledgeable and more importantly passionate about the craft. We got to talking about the production of cider and he went out of his way to show us parts of the process and even let us taste some of the barreled Apple port. We live in downtown San Diego and it is quite the mission to make it up to north county. This being said, because of Leigh and the quality of the cider, this is our new weekend spot. Support your local cidery! This truly is the best cidery in San Diego. Amazing cider, logo, and staff! I can't wait to go back!

Natasha F.

Yelp
I was here for a Yelp Elite event and was given a goblet to take home and two full pours. It's a small tasting room with an outdoor patio and indoor seating as well. The owners office entrance is through the bathroom to give you an idea of how small it is. I'm not a huge fan of hops and love my sweeter libations - so this place is actually perfect for me! I tried my two first ever meads here and I have to say that I am officially a fan of the honey brew. I tried the Strawberry & Guava mead and the Cyser mead both were delicious. I'll have to come back to try the ciders. I enjoyed the small intimate atmosphere and the flavorful drinks were inclusive of those traditionally unable to drink beers yet covered the taste preferences from the sweet to the dry.

Olga S.

Yelp
From personal preference I would rather drink ciders and meads than beer lol Ever since stumbling upon this place, I have tried from various ciders and meads. Dave the owner always takes the time to explain the process of how this delicious drinks are made. My first favorite was volcán Mt. and second the wynola scrump I think lol, but today Strawberry Guava oh my gaaaaaawd! Just freaken mind blown on the taste! Even my brother said how much he liked it too! And he is not to much of an alcohol guy! Truly always recommend this hidden new gem in San Marcos to friends and family.

John K.

Yelp
Great location, fantastically-knowledgeable staff, TASTY mead & cider creations!! Food trucks visit here: or Uber-Eats if you have to! Can't miss this gem-of-a-place in San Marcos!

Mark M.

Yelp
Just the right size operation to still hold the ambiance of being right in the middle of the brewing, in Dave's 'living' room of beer. It's alive with the natural oak barrels and the tastes in the drinks that you can try to identify came from which type of Oak, English, French, Hungarian???, amazing walk inside the barrel experience. Plus last night there was a young singer, wish I got her name but we had a prior engagement to rush to - her voice is amazing with wide range and expressive emotive control. I have been in music performance for almost 50 years, playing guitar 50, and around professional musicians since birth, her voice is really one of the 2 best I've had the privilege to hear up close in person. Regretting not blowing the other engagement off though it was great. All around great experience at Raging Cider!

Shayna R.

Yelp
Just ok. I wasn't overwhelmed by anything I tried in my flight of ciders and meads, but it was a nice little spot with a good vibe.

Marie H.

Yelp
Great selection of ciders and meads. They are strong % (these are the real deal!) and they only use local fruits and honey grown in and around San Diego county. The space is a bit small but our bartender was super knowledgeable.

Thomas S.

Yelp
Top notch. This place is amazing. Many different types of ciders. Awe main this place is dope. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up staying for 4 or 5 hrs.

Maricela M.

Yelp
Really love this place nice people, good drinks, and very affordable. It's not your average bar their ciders are really good 10x better than what you get at the store in a bottle and the prices are really good like REALLY good. It's a good place to chill after work the ambience is laid back and chill. On the weekends they usually have food trucks come out so you can get a snack or full meal. This place is kid and pet friendly so bring the whole clan with you if you'd like the more the merrier!

Sophie S.

Yelp
There's a cider here for everyone! $11 for a flight and you can try absolutely amazing unique ciders made from apples and pears grown here in San Diego county. There are games to play too like giant Connect 4, Jenga, and Scrabble.

Mike L.

Yelp
Awesome little hole in the wall. You Mead to go here to get your cider fix! Great staff good selection and easy parking and freeway access. Dog friendly as well :)

Clayton M.

Yelp
This place is super unique. The ciders are all wild fermented--this ain't the place to go if you're wanting an Angry Orchard. The ciders are all very uniquely flavored because of them being wild fermented; it's literally natural cider and that's it. The story and the sourcing behind this place is also really cool. All the fruits are from here in San Diego; with a lot of the apples grown on the owner orchard here in North County. The owner and the lone beertender are also guys. They'll definitely tell you all about the flavor profiles of each cider and mead and explain just how much went into making these drinks. Beware, they are super high ABVs, most around 10%; so if you're a light weight, go with a flight so you can experience them all. If you're hungry, they often have food trucks on site. Check out their facebook for food truck events. Don't pass this brewery--cidery up!

Michael M.

Yelp
My regular spot, good times and great mead!

dustin s.

Yelp
I absolutely love ciders. I've enjoyed many cideries locally and afar. Unfortunately, for me, none of the cider taps appealed to my tastes. However, the two stars isn't just from my preferences, but those from my two companions who remarked every one of their choices were sub-par. Yes, it's subjective, but not being able to find one that wasn't off-taste, isn't a good indicator. Maybe we're not in the au natural barn aroma taste profile, but a little uniqueness goes a long way. Perhaps it is of the natural process of fermentation, but the off tastes of all of our choices is troubling when there are more consistent cider and Meade places to frequent. And no, I'm not looking for an angry orchard. I'm looking for a solid tasting apple cider or recipes that have hints of other fruits or spices. These were all heavy straw or off tastes. These were too 'barn like' for our preference. Again, subjective, take it or leave it, but we rate this a miss for cider. We like supporting local businesses, especially cideries, but we will choose others in the future. Space was fine, although a couple of empty tables had dirty plates and glassware that never were cleared. Tried it, won't return.

Scott F.

Yelp
A hidden gem in North County! Amazing cider selection; the best I've had in California. I loved ordering the flights to try them all! Great atmosphere and appreciate the outdoor area. Although the entrance is pretty hidden, it is freeway close to Hwy 78. Cool warehouse-y feel. Service from Kenny was excellent. No complaints about that. The owner Dave let me sample some drinks before ordering....even though I ended up ordering the flights...two flights. I like Raging Cider is not as sweet as a lot of store-bought. 'Lil Sis' and the 'Newtown Blend' were my favorites, but they all are worthy a sampling to notice the subtle (or distinct) differences between the ciders and mead. Dave and Kenny are proud of their cider/mead craftsmanship.
