The 27 Best Breweries in Denver | Eater Denver

"With a spacious, mural-splashed taproom and patio that regularly hosts food trucks, artisan vendors, live music, open mike nights, a Spanish club, and more, this “reference center for those interested in learning about Latin culture” also happens to be a damn fine brewery. Subtlety is its forte even in showier pours like the coffee blonde ale called Cafecito, the chile-spiked Cosecha, the mango-infused Manguito, and Cactus Magic, a collaboration witbier made with prickly pear." - Eater Staff

A Casual Pizza Spot With a Mural of a Beer-Drinking Bear Comes to Capitol Hill This Week - Eater Denver

"A new brewery with a focus on diversity and representing Central and South American cultures is now serving beer and showing live soccer games on TV in Sun Valley, Denverite reports. Raices Brewing Co. opened earlier this month at 2060 West Colfax Avenue in a space just to the south of the Broncos stadium. Jose Beteta, who owns the brewery with his wife Tamil Maldonado, said that one audience the brewery is targeting is soccer fans looking for a place to watch games from around the world after the closure of the beloved soccer-focused Three Lions Pub on East Colfax in January." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Great place to have a beer and socialize. I do NOT recommend the pizza. It tasted like store bought frozen pizza. According to similar reviews, the pizza has tasted the same for the past couple of years. The empanadas with salsa are good.

If you're in Denver and haven't been to Raíces Brewing yet, you're seriously missing out. Not only is the vibe here unmatched—welcoming, vibrant, and full of life—but the horchata beer is next level😜 It’s creamy, smooth, and just the right touch of sweet without being overpowering ✨ Honestly, it’s one of the most memorable beers I’ve had in a long time! 🍻🍻🍻 Raíces doesn’t just serve beer—they serve community and culture in every glass. From the music and art to the rotating food vendors, everything feels intentional and rooted in Latinx pride- You feel it the moment you step in! This place is a gem, and I can’t wait to come back.❤️✨

Google
Awesome service at Raices, it wasn’t too busy when we went but the bartenders were super attentive and even let us sample some of the beer before buying! I ended up getting the horchata beer and I’d highly recommend! Great atmosphere and vibe.

Google
Great place for Friday or Saturday dancing. If you are looking for a quiet place, this would not be it on those days. Great live bands and plenty of space to dance. The beer choices are great and now they have hard liquor as well. I have been coming here for years and always enjoy! Thank you, Jose and Tamil!

Google
Probably the best Latino/Hispanic Bar in Denver! The location is bit odd for it is situated by the highway and in the most industrial side of Colorado. However, that being said, the place is worth going to. It has some great romantic views of the river and bridge, especially at night. Alongside having an overwhelming amount of indoor and outdoor seating options, they also have a wide assortment of unique tasting beers. Although, I must admit the drinks can be very pricey at times. The experience is worth it for it is near the Broncos Stadium. Highly recommend coming here when they shoot off fireworks. The diversity of the staff is unmatched. I have not been to their events but I imagine they are an absolute blast without COVID Their range of top quality food trucks is always a plus!

Google
Good beer and space. Conveniently located right by the stadium, it makes a perfect stop off before you go in! They usually have a food truck and offer indoor and outdoor seating options.

Google
Stellar location/venue...poor service/quality. My initial impression was pretty great (minus the sub par beer and poor food menu - the food truck outside Pupusa is pretty good!) and I had only intended to be there for a beer. I ended up being there longer and my experience quickly deteriorated when it became readily apparent that the afternoon bartender started to do coke or some other stimulant mid-shift. His demeanor went from friendly and professional to agitated, unfriendly, disorganized and SLOW. Dude was literally leaving the bar every 10min or so to take whatever drugs he was on. The negative energy was palpable. The evening bartender was much nicer and clearly sober. Unfortunately, the afternoon bartender kinda ruined it!

Google
Very large pile of toys for kiddos to play with, big parking lot, food looked great, AND they have a gluten free (not gluten removed -- seemingly legit gluten free, it's made of corn) beer option (as well as non-alcoholic drink options). Wi-Fi was fast, bartender was super friendly, and they had a food truck by the time I left. I can imagine they get slammed on game days, but it was lovely on a Thursday afternoon!

Yelp
Delicious drinks and such a fun ambience with live music and friendly staff! The empanadas are delicious. I definitely recommend the mojito.

Yelp
Whoa, hidden gem! I had no idea this brewery was here until I got invited to a puzzle meetup. Parking is a nightmare because their lot right outside is quite small, or maybe it was the fact that they were hosting multiple events in one evening. At any rate, the staff stayed calm while supporting the chaos and demands for more seating areas. The beer menu had a fun selection. Lots of Mexican brews. Apparently this is also a cultural center. My friend was questioning why there were kid play things on the sides of the main stage. They offer some food options, including empanadas and pizza, which were tasty. Sometimes there's a food truck outside. Overall great event space!

Yelp
I've been here many times, I don't know why I haven't written a review but better late than never! There's always a good vibe here, I always have the most fun and I don't even drink ! Lol the absolute BEST atmosphere here and I've never gotten a bad meal from the food trucks outside (they change every so often!) check their insta/ socials for updates and what type of night they're holding that day! Theres also events like yoga, dance classes, etc. They are very family friendly (even though it's a bar!) and pet friendly as well! I love coming back and look forward to returning!

Yelp
Good beers. Outdoor seating with beautiful views. Dogs are welcome. Usually live music on weekends. Fun place!

Yelp
Wow, my only regret is not finding this place sooner! What a gem of a brewery accentuated by an incredible atmosphere of Latin Culture. We came on ¡Viva Venezuela! On 7/13 and we were treated to Latin Music, Dancing, Food and amazing beer! The staff and customers were very welcoming and I believe I have found my favorite brewery in Denver! ¡Gracias Raices!

Lisa L.

Yelp
Awful and slow service, overpriced cocktails. My cocktail never came, I came up twice to ask for it. 1 cocktail and a 13oz beer with tips was $30. Not recommend.

Yelp
I stopped in for food, beer and ambience at this Latino brewpub located just off the Platte river. I also recently stopped in for community building, most recently related to the efforts to save the historical Zuni power plant operated by excel. This community oriented, Latino brewpub has excellent food and beer and orientation to the neighborhood. Recommended!

Yelp
Raices is a great place to get some beers and hang out! They have been showing FIFA World Cup games, not sure what other sports they get into showing, but a huge crowd was there for the most recent games. They have some standard and more creative beers to choose from. My first time there they had a food truck outside, the second time they were selling empanadas. So, seems like there's usually something to eat which I think is needed at every brewery! Their setup and staff could be improved by huge amounts for popular days such as the World Cup. It was insane, the line out the door for either drinks or food for the entire match. I don't understand knowing that this many people will be there not being better prepared (friends told me it was that busy for other games, as well, so it wasn't a surprise). They must've lost so much money just not having a good setup or being staffed. It's a bit mind-boggling. But, I still like the place a lot. But I hope my friends don't want to go back there for the next games, to be honest. I don't like not being able to get what I need even though I'm paying, it was hard to get things to buy. My first visit was after Meow Wolf, so keep this place in mind for afterward!

Yelp
I whenever I come on this side of town I always come here. They have amazing Latiné/x food trucks outside which is amazing. The staff was very attentive and the outside was super chill to drink a beer on a nice early fall day.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Nice spot close to Mike High Stadium. There were a lot of seating options, both indoors and out. It was pretty packed on a Thursday evening and the parking lot was full. I didn't get any food but they had pretzels, empanadas, and pizza. Also looked like they may have live music since we did see a stage. I'd come back!
google avatar

Azure G.

Yelp
Came here last October and forgot to post - oops! Brought our dog and were able to hang outside on the front patio which was great. Not a huge area but definitely comfortable. They served some snacks indoors (we had a pretzel) and a food truck was also available on site. The inside area is huge! As is the back patio, so lots of room if you're sans doglet. Beer was good but nothing that blew my mind. Unfortunately when we went there were no non-beer options, which could be a worthwhile addition. Maybe we'll go back soon to check :)

Yelp
Okay. This is my most favorite brewery I have been to in a LONG time!!! They have a great spot on the platte river trail- super easy to bike to. This place is great for groups. They have a dreamy patio and large outside. They offer minimal food items like pizza, and hot pretzels, but often have food trucks. Their drink menu is vast! Wines, beers, cocktails, you name it.. and have I mentioned they are delicious?!? The staff was friendly and amazing. I will be back.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Talk about amazing location and ambiance! Huge brewery with everything Latin you could want and need! Amazing brews, great events and awesome food trucks! Right on the Platte river with THEIR OWN DOG PARK!!!! Highly recommend

Yelp
Very cool vibe... tasty beers and delicious empanadas. The bar tender was fantastic and helped us with our beer and food choices
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a great space, cool location and wonderful beer. Raices is located right off a popular bike trail, so on a nice day, you'll see lots of folks in their biking gear who have stopped for a break and a beer. They have a wonderful patio area facing the river. There are lots of tables inside as well. Raices doesn't serve food, but they have a permanent food truck in the parking lot serving tacos and other latin fare. Their beers range from classic, bohemian lagers to fun, fruity concoctions using cactus and mangoes. There is something for everyone. Check out Facebook before you go. Raices often has very cool events, like Latin American dancers, live music and interviews with local business owners. These events are really popular and you may find yourself in a standing room only situation if you show up during one.

Yelp
Super cool atmosphere and good beer! I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican beer flavors, so I honestly wasn't super excited to go here; however, I was so impressed with the open, beautifully decorated interior, the welcoming staff, and their beer options! I did end up opting for a guest beer because I'm such a sucker for coffee beers, so I got the Koffee Kream Milk Stout from Comrade Brewing. The coffee flavor was so good and the beer was so milky - truly the perfect drink to sip while the snow fell outside. I would totally come back here, as it looks like they do live performances (they had a stage) and they have some awesome food trucks that post up here too!

Yelp
My visit to Raíces was very enjoyable. The taproom had a great vibe to it and the atmosphere was very festive. I loved the decor inside too. The bartender was very nice and welcoming. I ordered a flight of four beers and they were all fantastic. I love seeing fellow Latinos succeed. I wish this brewery all the success possible.
google avatar

Blair C.

Yelp
I've decided no brewery... no matter how amazing their beer is... will ever get above 3 stars from me anymore. Drinking establishments are no longer sacred places for adult fun and gatherings. Every brewery has now become a place for birthers to bring their spawn to run around screaming while we all try to enjoy drinks. I'm advocating for adult only Days, since apparently "family days" seem to be a thing now. Last thing we all want is a 4 year old screaming in our ears while trying to enjoy a quality local beer. At least create a cordoned off space that's adult only. Two thumbs down for ambience/environment.

Erin W.

Yelp
The drinks were great, the space is nice and had live music. The empanadas have potential. I'm not sure if the ones I got were just a fluke, but one was empty and the other two barely had any filling. I'd give them another shot, though! EDIT for Owner - I appreciate the response, but absolutely no refund necessary - they still had great overall flavor and we enjoyed our visit overall!

Yelp
Service was okay the day we went but we loved the beers and ambiance! Will be back again

Yelp
Great beer , great food of the lunch truck outside I had the quesadilla with Al pastor was really good n the people were great 5 stars

Yelp
A Colorado brewery with Latin roots was just what this Miami transplant needed in her life! We ended up here on a whim and I am so glad that we did. We didn't have a reservation and it was pretty full, but we snagged a table inside (note that they do not have highchairs). To drink, I tried the manguito, an American-style fruit beer, and soñando despierto, a hazy style IPA. They had both a Puerto Rican and Mexican food truck outside, and we grabbed some food from the Mexican truck that was super tasty! The brewery itself has pizza and pretzels for sale. There's a stage for live music, but this particular day they just had Latin tunes blasting through the speakers which just added to the chill vibe. I could see this being a super fun place for soccer games, too. There's plenty of seating both inside and out. Since it was a nice day, the doors were pulled up and there was a nice breeze circulating through the inside. The staff was very attentive throughout and seemed to be managing the crowd with ease. There's parking right out front that we managed to find a spot in as people left. My husband is Colombian and this provided a little taste of home, which seems to be their mission by looking at the website. We can't wait to come back soon!

Carrie M.

Yelp
Service is awful. Make bartender was helping me and someone else came over and he just walked off. Female bartender so rude! Can't even make Eye contact - can't be bothered. Awful and not worth the trip for shit service.

Pratima M.

Yelp
A super fun Latin brewery in Denver serving up unique beers and tasty pretzels. They have a colorful, decorated space and an outdoor patio in the back as well -- lots of seating and everyone is super sweet. I tried a fruity mango beer which was light and refreshing -- it was really unique and I loved it. I also got a pretzel to share which was tasty and came with a dipping mustard. Overall, a very cute spot with a nice atmosphere!
google avatar

Sherrin M.

Yelp
Mexican - American inspired beer! Free parking, ample indoor seating with outdoor seating options and some unique beers makes raíces a fun brewery to visit. The coffee blonde was light and flavorful. The hazy ipa had a good amount of citrus with lower hops/ bitterness (usually ideal for someone who prefers a hazy to a regular ipa). They also had beermosas- so refreshing and fruity (definitely sweet) perfect for a beautiful sunny day! It's made with their beer champagne and had fruit juice added. They do require a mask for entry. Tables indoor and outdoor are spaced out nicely. Inside is decorated with bright colors and with lots of cultural tributes - pretty cool to see!
google avatar

Demitria M.

Yelp
Cute spot to stop and have a gold drink. They aren't limited to just beers, but have some great cocktails on the menu too. I especially loved the support of other local business. There are were some great food tucks outside, and some tables set up inside too. I'll be back to try more of the great drinks.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
A great indoor outdoor space + outdoor patio! Indoor space is super well air conditioned despite lots of open garage doors. Outdoor patio in the back has views of a nice bridge and the new meow wolf is just a hop and a skip away! The gf beer option is very unique- light and a touch of sour, but very good! The staff is kind and the pizza looks delicious (wish they had a gf option though)! Live music started at 6pm on Friday while we were here. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Such a fun place to spend some time with friends. They have a perfect outside area & the inside is so roomy. Excellent selection of beers & drinks. They also have lots of live music & events. I've seen local venders there as well. We love spending time at Raíces!

E L.

Yelp
Coconut owned and operated, De los fresas para los fresas Not dog friendly 1, and 2 this was voted a bunch of gente supporting and community outreach yet when members of the community come in and try to enjoy this establishment its gentrified just like our neighborhoods are being. Freson bartender proceeded to immediately tell me dogs were not allowed, but didn't serve me another nopal enfrente served me and opened a tab when I asked for my receipt she ensured me we were both on the same page of Open and Close. But, then I was informed that I had an active tab? Strange Won't be returning
google avatar

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Caipirinhas and margaritas are both delicious and refreshing. There's a great selection of drinks, including folks like me who don't want a beer. There's a large outdoor seating area and the inside is huge. There's usually music and dancing in the evenings. For me, I like to stop by on my way home from a bike ride on the platte trail. Service is quick, friendly, and helpful. They have little buzzers so that you don't have to wait for your drinks at the bar. There's an arepas food truck parked on the side if you want food as well.
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
Great brewery with excellent beer! They have a lot of outdoor space where dogs are welcome and even fire pits. We tried multiple beers and loved the coffee ale, mango beer and IPA. Didn't try the food truck, but it smelled delicious. Only downside was the music was really loud, even outside. We asked them to turn it down but didn't see much improvement.
google avatar

Peyton M.

Yelp
Great outdoor patio! Staff was super nice and the beer was very tasty. Will definitely be back to try more!
google avatar

Nolan S.

Yelp
I visited this brewery while in town for a social event, the CouchSurfing Denver CouchCrash. The brewery has a great amount of taps with a great selection of beers being poured. The building is big and open with a large patio area. They look like they have love events like music because they have a stage! Overall I thought it was a great place and the service was quick and courteous. Stop in and support something local!
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
This place was awesome! We arrived on the weekend without reservations but were warmly welcomed and seated on their back patio. It was a party inside! They had a DJ mixing up latin music with other popular tunes and people were dancing at their tables. I can only imagine what Raices will be like once Covid restrictions are lifted! It was still a family atmosphere though and the patio was very relaxing. I got a flight of beers - manguito, cafecito and a beer/red wine hybrid - and my husband got their hazy IPA. All of the beers were good! We bought some to go as well since we don't live nearby. There was a food truck on site and our server told us they nearly always have a food truck for their guests. I would come back just for the atmosphere but it was a bonus that Raices also knows how to make unique, tasty brews!
google avatar

Oh N.

Yelp
Awesome assortment of empanadas with chimichurri and of course friendly and live Latino scene.
google avatar

Naya P.

Yelp
I may be a little biased being Puerto Rican but Raices is amazing!!! They truly transport me back to Puerto Rico every time I visit! This brewery is packed with Latin vibes. The music is great and their beers and cocktails are also amazing! They don't serve a lot food options in house however they always have 2 food trucks parked right out front. The food trucks are always Latin themed and truly cook authentic Latin flavors. It always feels like you're crashing a family party when you get here.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
It's open! Finally! YES! Raices is a Latino-inspired brewery that I've been eagerly awaiting since the start of 2019. Space inside is gorgeous and very open- it's bigger than I had expected! We came before a Broncos game and it was the perfect pre-game spot, walking distance from Mile High. They even have dedicated brewery spots, so if you're not staying for the game, you can utilize those and avoid the event parking fee. Good variety of beers- something for everyone, I got the cafecito, coffee beer. Good notes of chocolate! Can't wait to soak in the sun on the patio. Love having Raices open in the Sun Valley neighborhood! Welcome!!!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Love this place! My wife and I attended the "Laugh for Good" event, which raised money for those in need in Puerto Rico. The place has incredible beer and a great vibe. We heard Liza Giusti sing for the first time - This girl is AMAZING!!

Alex P.

Yelp
Great beer super cool concept. Service was great as well. Both interior food and food truck options.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
This spot has one of the best patios in Denver! And vibes to spare. A fun, Latino-owned brewery close to the Broncos stadium, this spot is great for game day, other weekend activities, or just a weeknight evening spot. We stopped in for a beer, but they usually have a food truck as well, so we also got food. Everything was delicious! While they mostly focus on Latin beer, you can find some sours and other varietals as well. My husband and I both loved what we had. There were so many to choose from, it was hard to do. We sat out on the patio and got service to our table. The waiter was so kind & friendly & helpful and brought our beers quickly. For such a large patio & for how many tables I'm sure he had, that seems hard to do! The patio is awesome. Lots of grassy areas outside, and a variety of high top, low tables, etc to please different sized groups. They also had live music there, and I got the sense they often do. Made for a great atmosphere! This place was hoppin' on a weeknight too - I can tell they already have a following.
google avatar

Maureen O.

Yelp
Such a great place! First off, we love a brewery that has great beer and also serves wine. And then authentic empanadas and chimichurri to snack on! The vibe is exactly what they're going for: Latina community with fun vibe. Everyone is dancing in their seat to the music, waiting for the first person to break the ice and get on the dance floor. Great patio space and free parking. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Dana W.

Yelp
Random spot we found and came in for a beer. May (?) come back, but won't go out of my way. The first bartender wasn't very nice to us so .. was plain rude, so we immediately tabbed out to go somewhere else and sadly didn't give this place a true shot. To be fair, when we left the new bartenders were very nice but still just a bad first impression for us on a bar crawl Saturday. They had a decent size patio but half was shaded and the other half was in the blazing sun. They had food trucks parked outside and a stage so I assume live music. Give it a shot and hopefully the staff will be nicer to you!!

Mara S.

Yelp
Saw Raíces from the street and decided to stop for a quick beer while supporting a local business. This place is a gem! Great service, nice ambiance, great beers on tap. They have convenient 5oz glasses to give you an opportunity to try many beers. Best part? You can chose to-go and they will can it for you! Beautiful outdoor space, live music and food! Loved this place!
google avatar

Keanna M.

Yelp
This brewery allows dogs in their outside seating area!!! There was plenty of parking on a late Saturday night that I had an easy time parking our huge truck (it's a dually). We sat outside since we had our dog, and there were 3 fire pits, with plenty of seating options. I ordered a Manguito, and it was so refreshing, light, and mango sweet. Everyone tasted it, and agreed that it was the best beer that round. There was a food truck outside, Areyto Puerto Rican food truck, which was fantastic! We ate and drank outside with our friends on a nice summer night. They were also playing Latin music which was a nice touch. Inside is really cool as well. Lots of art work and space. I think we caught the end of an event that they were hosting inside.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
What a great brewery that seems lesser known than others. The inside is huge and they have a great patio overlooking the river. Service is always friendly and the beers are yum, I love the mango beer! They frequently have food trucks outside but I don't recommend their food, seems like it came straight out of a freezer. Awesome spot for large groups and it's usually easy to find seating as long as it isn't game day!
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
Amazing brewery! The staff is awesome and friendly. I really enjoyed this place for my birthday last year and was here enjoying a friend's birthday tonight. Great beers! Fun vibes watching some soccer games (or hockey). The beers are diverse, but tasty. It's a worthy stop!
google avatar

Melanie C.

Yelp
Such a cool concept!! Latinx owned brewery that hosts cultural events, live latin music and latin owned food trucks! Awesome (and large) indoor and outdoor seating with a stage for music. Large selection of beers, some with fun, Latin twists. Tried the new sour, Guyaba and loved it! Boyfriend had the Mexican lager, which he also really enjoyed. That night they had a Puerto Rican food truck which sold mofongo among other foods. Would recommend for any beer lovers!!
google avatar

Peter G.

Yelp
This place is so fun! They have lots of good fruity beer options as well as more traditional Latin-style beers. The music is always upbeat and the outdoor area is a great spot to hang out on a sunny Colorado day.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I love this place. Excellent beer selection, music, and service. I love that each night they have different themes of music and events.
