Lots of food vendors and other craft and jewelry type vendors here. Some allowed us to be interactive with their display. We only allowed ourselves 2 hours before they closed. We noticed a fair amount of other vendors outside that we did not get to.. next time we're in town we will try to show up earlier so we can see all of the vendors.

This market is definetly bigger than Growers Market on Saturdays (same vendors + more). Lots more artisans here. There is ample covered space, which is always a great attraction for vendors to keep their merchandise away from the elements. The paths around the buildings are paved. Loved seeing the food trucks and food vendors. Maybe some umbrellas and trash receptacles in the eating area would serve in the future. Would love to come back next season. I did leave with my hands full with lunch, a painting, and some earrings. There is parking, but it seemed full. I walked from downtown (~12 minutes) and it wasn't too bad. There will be a Christmas market in Dec for a weekend as well.

I absolutely love this market! I go strictly for the fresh veggies and fruits, but I always seem to leave with fresh baked goods, too. Great place for a family trip or even an early day date. There are lots of other vendors and food trucks. It's all around a fun place to go to!

Google
Bought some chocolate chip cookies that were great. The market as a whole was very nice and I would recommend. But the fry bread was not to good, soggy- was disappointed, otherwise I would have given a 5.

Roberto Castillo

Google
Very nice place to come. The atmosphere is welcoming and genuine!! The food and drinks are amazing and so many options from different vendors. I would definitely recommend coming here every time you can.

Aurora Madueno

Google
Went to their market. It was my first time in Albuquerque, and what a beautiful experience. Had so many vendors with food, sweets, and hand made crafts. Was able to buy gifts for so many of my friends and family.

Ransom Vigil

Google
Good farmer's market! Lots of local vegetables and other goodies available from your neighbors! Plenty of crafts and food truck offerings as well. Parking can be tricky, but there is lots of street parking available.

Tony Lin

Google
Visiting from out of state, this is one of the coolest farmers' markets I've ever experienced and a highlight of my trip! There's a large selection of vendors selling produce, street food, beverages, plants, clothing, art, sculptures, and more, representative of the diverse neighborhood community and celebrating New Mexican culture. Can easily spend an hour here taking it all in. For me, the real stars of the show were the industrial rail yard buildings themselves. Most of my time here was spent just admiring the architecture. From chatting with a security guard, I learned that the buildings are a popular filming location and that both Terminator and Transformers had scenes that were shot here. You can visit the building in the back (the largest one) to see what it looks like in an untouched/abandoned state. A banner on one of the buildings states the Rail Yards will soon become home to a new media academy for filmmaking, which I can get behind.

Yelp
The rail yard market holiday markets are absolutely my favorite. I most recently came for the Valentines market and had a ton of fun and found some really great local goods. The Valentines market in particular is my favorite. Everything is pink and hearts and glitter. There were a ton of vendors and a good variety of food offerings. My best friends were some chocolate covered strawberries at baked by Christina and a gorgeous heart necklace from meltdown Studios. I will say, I heard from others that the Sunday offerings were much slimmer. I'm really glad we came Saturday at opening.

Yelp
The Railyards holiday market was amazing there were vendors that are not normally present. There was a huge crowd and lots of unique gift ideas.

Yelp
10/10! It's a must go! I dont know the history and I do not live in Albuquerque but I was in town for the weekend and this was by far the best thing I have enjoyed in Albuquerque through my many many visits. Honestly bummed it took me this long to find it! I was running around like a kid in a candy shop, sampling everything, looking a cute dogs, buying yummy local fruit and taking pictures of the beautiful old building! Huge selection of local veggies, fruits, foods, crafts, and art. This is one of my favorite out door markets I have been at in the USA. I loved the variety of things this market had to offer. I had some momos, got some fresh baked bread 1/2 off for coming towards the later side of the day, got a bubble tea with oatmilk and stocked up on seasonal veggies and fruits! Come hungry, have fun and talk to people about their passions and craft- always inspiring! This market exceeded my expectations was much bigger than I expected and felt special

Yelp
Went to the Holiday Market. Come early the parking was full before opening at 10 am. Got street parking not too far away. Lots of venders. Fun activity for all. Food, snacks. arts and crafts. Get place to pick up local holiday gifts. Got this beautiful rose bouquet.

Yelp
I'm a junkie for farmer's markets. I seek them out whenever I travel to sample local produce and locally crafted items. Love that there is lots of free parking. Most of the vendors are in the old rail yard buildings. The assorted food vendors are generally in the courtyard. On this visit, I purchased an Indian bread from Lizard Flatts which was large and still warm. Absolutely delicious! We enjoyed it for lunch with a cup of soup and later toasted for dinner. Get this! I picked up a couple of melons, a local type of spinach which looked like kale. We sautéed it with some garlic and simple seasonings to enjoy with our salmon for dinner. I was told it had a somewhat lemony taste and it did! I also bought some green tomatoes to air fry, locally grown apples and prickly pear to try. Other produce available were radishes, carrots, heirloom tomatoes okra and beans. I also saw bitter melon! There were a couple of vendors selling mushroom growing kits. Very intrigued with growing mushrooms in a bag and would totally buy a kit if I were home in Hawaii! This farmer's market is only on Sundays so plan accordingly. Best to come early before the (food) vendors sell out!

Yelp
It's over priced and boring. Id never go again. So many people Ive told we went agreed

Yelp
What a great holiday market! We took the park and ride from the zoo, which I highly recommend as parking at the Railyards is pretty tight. There were at least 100 vendors with a terrific variety of wares for sale - art, jewelry, baked goods, spice blends, honey, candles, etc. - and a bunch of food trucks. We had a good time and came home with some treasures. I'm looking forward to returning next year.

Yelp
This market is THE thing to do on a Sunday. It's not year round but goes from May to October and apparently one weekend in December for holiday shopping. It was my first time here and there were so many more vendors than I expected! This is not a small market. The old Rail Yards building is stunning. It's so cool to put an indoor/outdoor market here. For some reason the Sunday I went there were a ton of Storm Troopers just wandering about lol.   Make sure to get a drink from the Chamoy Bar ladies. Buy roasted chilis from the chili guy. And be sure to leave yourself time to scope out all the vendors and get your shopping on. We saw some very fun art and ended up taking a few things home with us.   Just a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
This a great place to spend the day, lots of local vendors, local food and local crafts. Many movies have been filmed here and there's a venue you can rent for parties or weddings.

Bernadette S.

Yelp
Great vendors and a fun experience. Nice Variety to see. Delicious food available as well. Overall great time talking with the vendors and meeting new people. Family and pet friendly.

Ma H.

Yelp
Went here last Saturday. They've improved the place with a paved parking lot and two indoor areas instead of one. It's cute but really overpriced and needs further improvements. We got 3 fruit drinks (each about 32 ounces) that came to a total of $45! For a fruit drink that was mainly water and sugar it was extremely expensive. There was very limited shaded areas which made it hard to enjoy the place in the heat. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place and likely won't be back myself. It's hard to enjoy a simple meal or drink feeling like you just got robbed.
google avatar

Yelp
Love seeing all the vendor and tasting the food. Have unique gifts for holidays and upcoming events.

Yelp
Christmas RailYard Market: - 1 loaf sourdough bread from The Ferm Brinery & Bakehouse  - 1 order or 6 Bundt cakes from Planty Sweet I wanted to support local. Shop small business. Do it COVID-safe. I got an email giving what seemed to be detailed order of pickup. They were clear that orders MUST be picked up between 11am-3:30pm. There were supposed to be "4 lines"-- than more instructions for when you enter the rail yards. *NOTHING WENT AS PLANNED* We got there at 10:50am, lines going all the way to the convention center. No side-streets blocked off. Everyone being aggressive. Security guard hit a light pole with his car and it fell. 6 people working. Not all lines being utilized. Fear that we *must* pick up before 3:30pm. Two and a half hours pass, we move 10 car links. I mean, I've been to the Colosseum, and I can tell you-- back then, if you had tickets, you HAD TO enter on the road with your seat number, get in line where your entry was, and EXIT the way you came in. There was order. Thousands of years ago. They built roads like sun-rays exiting the Colosseum, there are markings on every entry. There were people aiding the movement, and consequences for making a mess of it. But here in NM, 2020, RailYards, perhaps in word (email) there was order/rules, but not in action. They needed distinct lines, they needed more staff to guide the cars, cones to block the side streets, and even more staff to fix the bags, other staff to deliver the bags, and some order-of-operation to insure smooth moving. That planning was not done. Folks, un-masked were getting out of their cars, walking up, and getting their orders. There were 6 people to handle thousands of dollars of orders. The small businesses were not there. Their products were damaged. You can't reheat Bundt cakes when folks un-masked breathe on them during a pandemic. It was a mess. Short staffed, and messy. We ended up leaving at hour 4.5. I saw on FB that people were getting things they didn't order, or 1/2 their order, or damaged orders. The Rail Yard ended up opening the hours till 6pm, and allowing for a 2nd day of pick-up. It was just too much to chance. Again, the pandemic makes these reviews much harder because I'm a disabled human who is high-risk for hospitalization during COVID. I've reached out to the small businesses I wanted to support. Hopefully, things can be fixed through them. Furthermore, perhaps RailYard Market should be held as a treasure for post-covid. Unless y'all want to pay a lot of staff, make the small businesses stay there (like during the regular market), and come up with with set order.

Yelp
Looking for something different to do on a Saturday afternoon a look at events happing, we found the Rail Yards Market. So off we go. Found a place to park and made the short walk to enter the site. There were lots of vendors, food trucks and food stands. Booths were located both outside and in the rail yard building itself. Vendors sold a cornucopia of goodies each made by the seller. A small sampling included different types pottery, jewelry, paintings, photos on wood, soaps, salsa, clothing, woodworks and a myriad of food items - a little something for everyone. A worthwhile trip and a nice way to spend a couple of hours. Who knows you could find just the special thing you're looking for.

Yelp
One of the best farmers market I've been to yet. People are really friendly here and they're pets friendly too. We enjoyed looking and buying the abundance of string peppers, looking at crafts and yummy food. The Indian curry and tacos was not the best we had to be honest but the Chamoy drinks were tasty and fun. Long line so get it early. Also do use the mobile dog wash if you have pets. It was a lot of fun giving our dog a bath and he even seem to love it. My only wish was that they have more fruits & cooked food at this farmers market

S M.

Yelp
If you like to walk on sidewalks full of human waste, drug paraphernalia and trash on Mother's Day before attending the market to eat delicious crepes and drink amazing chamoy bar offerings, then the rail yard market is your place. Try to find parking in the main tiny lot if you can otherwise you will encounter a lot of unpleasantness on your trek in. Don't forget to disinfect the soles of your shoes. Thanks mayor.

Thione T.

Yelp
Very cool market ! I think what I like the most about this place is that they rotate venders a lot, so you're always seeing new stuff when you stop by. Plenty of parking. They do have some food trucks to get a bite to eat while you shop and explore. Just keep in mind the hours are from 10am-2pm on Sundays from May-Oct I believe.
google avatar

Yelp
Would highly recommend. A lot of local vendors. A good variety of products. I love their recycling process. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
On a Sunday looking for something too do, come to the rail Yards Market. Fresh fruits, vegetables, homemade jellies, you make it you got it. Just the atmosphere alone draws you in and the variety of items to get keeps you coming back. You can use your eat big time (EBT) card here. Your best friend is allowed as long as on a leash and plays well with others.

Yelp
Still 5 stars! I've been coming the rail yard for about 3 years now. It's always a good experience. In the time of covid, this market has really stepped up. Parts of the yard has improved. Grass, concrete, walking and shopping area. This quarantine / new normal set up is well distanced. All the food items are outside which are well kore than 6ft apart. Great choices of Mexican, Asian fusion, New Mexican, Jamaican ready to eat food to jars of salsa, honey, fresh fruits and vegetables. Inside the market they have great selection of jewelry, clothing, candles that very unique. This is a great place to find gifts for friends and family. I can wait to visit again soon!
google avatar

Jordan F.

Yelp
Went to the rail yards this morning. It was so nice to get out and support some local businesses! I got a Quesarrito from the Taco guy and it was delicious. There were plenty of vendors at this event ranging from local honey and produce to food trucks and even jewelry. I will definitely be back here and I loved supporting local!
google avatar

Marie S.

Yelp
An interesting mix of art and culture! From goat yoga, frutas con chile, cookies, limpias, horchata, fresh vegetables, essential oils, paintings, street tacos, jams and jellies, honey, flowers, unique cuisine, to meet and greet with soccer players and live music - there is something here for everyone. It does get crowded, so get there early!
google avatar

Lawrence C.

Yelp
We haven't been here since Covid started. The Rail Yards has been revamped with grass and landscape and it is amazing. There seems to be more vendors here. If you are into supporting local farmers, restaurants, artists and several different unique vendors then this is the place for you to be! There is something for everyone here! We picked up some awesome hats, dog treats, bows and T-Shirts here!
google avatar

Peggy F.

Yelp
This place was a nice surprise. With the pandemic going on I was looking for something to do outside and found this great place. We love to support people that make their own products so we ventured out to experience this beautiful place. The building in themselves are amazing!! Their were vendors inside and out, 6 ft distancing with masks and gloves. It wasn't busy due to what's going on but I would love to go back when things go back to a somewhat of a normal. I'm sure we missed many venders. This is a good place during the summer to take visitors when allowed.
google avatar

LaLa G.

Yelp
Love the fun funky vibe at the Rail Yards Market! You're sure to find something you never knew you needed and run into some friends and familiar faces while you're there. There's indoor and outdoor vendors and it's a great place to support lots of local small businesses and vendors. Wear some good walking shoes because you'll be there longer than you expected as there's just so much to see, taste, discover, enjoy, and do. Take the family!
google avatar

Jailyn C.

Yelp
Such a fun market and location!! Lots of friendly vendors, parking wasnt bad at all. I would've liked to see more craft booths but Little Pot Shop of Horrors was my absolute favorite! check them out if you get a chance. The Mangonada line was beyond my dedication but they sure looked yummy!!!
google avatar

Bonnie F.

Yelp
I really would like to give this market more stars, but the fact is, that it's is super tiny and takes about 20 minutes at most to walk through. It's been around for quite a number of years and I had high hopes about it in the beginning. However, it should have expanded by now. Instead it has remained the same! Whoever runs this, should open more of the Railyards up to more sellers. It would be a lot more fun and enjoyable!
google avatar

Marilyn P.

Yelp
This was a super cute place. I loved all the different things here. I really liked that it was somewhat indoors too. It made it easier with two two year olds. They provide tokens to use when you don't have cash. I got local honey to help with my daughter's allergies. I also bought some delicious carrots. I plan on returning to buy more souvenirs.
google avatar

Gabriela M.

Yelp
Had the treat of visiting this place on a road trip back home and it was interesting and a treat. The pandemic is still going on, so mask and social distancing is still enforced; but still had a nice time. The artisans are nice and do great work in every aspect. Plenty of free parking and free to enter the market so all of your money goes straight to the vendors. Found some great treats and even nicer people.
google avatar

Mellow C.

Yelp
Love this concept of how they hold this market at the Rail Yards! My mom liked it as well! The colorful glass windows inside totally sets it off ! Loved the added touch of mariachi's and a real chicken that kiddos could pet at a free range egg vendor booth! Took home some awesome bread & dessert! A must try in the 505!
google avatar

Coco T.

Yelp
I just stop by here , with my kid and dogs . Ppl very friendly and many loco stuff. We enjoyed . Just too hot outside .
google avatar

Janice F.

Yelp
This Market could use some signs to help guide you to Parking and the Entrance. While we did find Parking eventually on the street, it was a bit of a walk and we saw some disabled folks making the trek. The Market itself isn't large, maybe 30 vendors, mostly food. Some of the Vendors are just sitting at their table, not talking or trying to show their wares. It's also quite warm inside the Market, it could use some large fans. While we enjoyed walking around, I was hoping for a bit more. We would go back, but it would be quite a while before we did. They do offer Tokens for those who are on Food Assistance, I love this for those in need, however getting there is probably not possible for many.
google avatar

Lindsay B.

Yelp
One of the absolute best things about Albuquerque. Showcasing a really cool part of local history-the railyards and fusing this unique place together with local makers is hands down a must go to- for anyone living in or visiting Albuquerque.
google avatar

Alisa L.

Yelp
Good for locals,; tourists, Not really. I went when I was in town since I liked a similar market in Santa Fe. This one is quite small and has some interesting foods if you were going home, such as fresh bread. There are some crafts, a few food trucks and some produce.
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
If you have never been I would would definitely say go it's a real experience in an awesome building they have a lot of unique shops and food trucks here it's definitely something you should check out when it's open during the warmer seasons.

Yelp
What a fun community event! I had never been to the Rail Yards Market before, and this past weekend they were having the Holiday market, so we cruised downtown and easily found street parking near the entrance. The market hadn't opened yet, and a line was forming! What a testament to the popularity of this event. The market itself has a cordoned-off parking area if you choose to park in there instead of on the street (it was a $1 donation for the holiday market to use that lot). There were many vendors with an array of handmade jewelry, bags, pottery, metal art, woodcraft, food, etc. What a treat! We look forward to the next holiday market.

Yelp
Whoa, talk about a groundswell. This market absolutely dropped some community science on opening day, 5/4, it was unlike anything I've ever experienced in this city and I'm so, so happy it's here all summer long. First, a little history on how this thing came to be. When the city announced its plans to renovate the Blacksmith shop of this deserted steam engine factory, several movers & shakers around town put their heads together and flirted with the idea of hosting a summer market that would be the centerpiece of ABQ culture: arts, food, music, etc. Inspired by markets the world over, they submitted a picture of La Boqueria, a huge market in Barcelona, to Facebook's Inhabitants of Burque. The pic exploded with Likes and Shares, and a meeting of the minds immediately came together. It was unanimous: the market needed to Be. Fast forward to March 2014. Volunteer and grassroots driven, an outpouring of community energy and passion filled the Wheels Museum every day of the week with committees tasked to handle food vendors, marketing, musicians, performing arts, the whole shebang. Every Friday a general meeting was held, helmed by Eric Griego and Chad Gruber, to rally troops and move the initiative forward. Volunteers came from every corner of the city, including Barelas, offering to help. I joined them. It was kind of Amish, actually; we weren't building the barn, but we stuffed it with goodies. My Burqueños, for sure. The Market will only grow from this point on, it will only improve. Every Sunday through November 2nd, 9am-3pm, this is the place to be in the 505. I look forward to updating this review as time moves on; at the moment, we need a lot more food in the market itself, more growers, an improved children's play area, water(!), a dedicated bike path, there's plenty to critique. But the infrastructure and community commitment is there, in droves. Come support the 505 in the factory that built this town, the Rail Yards. We own this. Take it back. That's my Local Motive.
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
This place had me at FREE BIKE VALET! I ride my bike everywhere in this town, and my biggest concern (aside from safety) is where to securely lock up my bike and prevent theft (stresses me out!!). This place had a free bike valet with attendants watching your bike the whole time! LOVE IT! I was very impressed with the number of vendors they had. I love to support local everything, and this is definitely the place to do that. Local art, jewelry, music, food trucks, produce, honey, tortillas, horchata... and the list goes on and on. This is a great venue! I've always loved the old railyard buildings, and I'm glad the city (and generous volunteers) have cleaned them up and done something great with them. Go out and support this effort. I know I'll be back (with a basket on my bike to take home goodies) !
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
I can only hope that we get this market bigger and better over time! The opportunity to eat at delectable food trucks and shop local is much appreciated! I wish there was more selection in produce, but c'est la vie...guess I'll just have to wait for later in the summer! It would be great to see the Fish Hugger at this market too, but I guess he is over in the Corrales Growers market Sundays. It would be nice if we could combine the Corrales Growers market and the Railyards market so that I didn't have to make two stops on a Sunday morning, but it makes for a pretty drive so it's not too bad! Kudos to Albuquerque for getting more markets!
google avatar

Yelp
Free range eggs, rug repair, art, clothing, one of a kind gifts and great food can all be found here at the Railyards Market. Thanks to a Railyard Event hosted by Howie, from Yelp and a couple other Albuquerque groups we got a personal tour and met with some of the vendors that have been there since the beginning of the Railyards. These people have a passion for their business and their product. I like the fresh produce that is available. The food is good and even the Chocolate Dude is here selling his goods. Sometimes parking in Nob Hill just for a piece of chocolate just can't be done, so the Railyards makes his decadent sweets available in a convenient place. The pie lady, whose business is New Mexico Pie Company is also there with all her scrumptious baked goods. Their signature is the green chile apple pie. Free samples of it if you are curious. We get her cherry pop tart with strudel on top. Delicious! So many great vendors. You can even take your pup and leave him/her at the dog waiting area! If you leave him/her at home there is a vendor selling homemade treats there too. Jeb loves their treats!
google avatar

Jean C.

Yelp
What a perfect venue for Corks and Brews. It's so open that even in the longer lines it never felt too crowded. They had plenty of seating too which I really appreciated with my bum hip. The vendors were super friendly and the crowd was diverse and really fun. Conversations flowed while waiting to be served. It did get hot in there. It would've been nice to have some fans blowing. All in all I love this place for events like this.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
This was a great outing to Santa Fe with so many great venders. Lots of quality merchandise and great farmers market with fresh goodies. The mustard man and the honey man were there and we bought more. The swamp meet side had many great bargains too. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Shannon C.

Yelp
This is a fun market to go to. I found some nice artwork and got a jar of honey for a friend. Overall I feel the produce is way overpriced. How does a person actually know these products are chemical free and organic? Faith I suppose. Parking is a bit of a mess here as well. I'd recommend just skipping their lot and finding street parking a block or two over. This is a nice market but I like the downtown one in Robison park on Saturday a lot better.
google avatar

T G.

Yelp
We love the Rail Yards! We try to come out every Sunday. There's live entertainment and usually seems to have a different theme. The local food vendors offer a variety of delicious food and others offer organic produce. You can also check out the original decorative art, apparel, and jewelry by local artists.
google avatar

Gabe P.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere for a farmers and artisan market. The types of produce was fantastic and other food options like bread, jams and fresh made pasta. Very nice place but can get a little crowded. But nonetheless it an amazing market with everything from food to great artists!
google avatar

Pamela V.

Yelp
I have never seen the old train place. So it was an experience. Everyone at the rail yard was friendly. Inside can get crowded but there's so much. Plants and art get me excited so I thought it was a lovely place. Most stands have really good deals. I got a dozen duck eggs for $7 and a giant cucumber plant for $4. I want to come here every Sunday.

Yelp
There is a "Holiday Market" at the Railyard Market on December 14-16, 2018, 12-4pm. That's all the info that was on the card I picked up at the Downtown Growers Market a few months ago. There may be more information on their website, which I think is easily DuckDuckGo-able (or google). I assume the 3-day weekend event will have a lot of items that will make great gifts as well as some produce, entertainment, and lunch food. I was thinking of walking there, but it is a bit too cold today. Maybe on Saturday or Sunday. Suntran service to that area on weekends is poor to absent (of course), possibly because so few people live south of Central/west of Broadway.
