The location of the tearoom is gorgeous but the afternoon tea was unfortunately awful. I’ve been to many high teas of varying price points and this was by FAR the worst food I’ve had at any; the sandwiches were mediocre at best and the desserts were clearly from a package (but not even tasty despite that, in fact they tasted almost freezer burnt). Even the scones and spreads were substandard. It laughably bad, my guest and I were shocked. On a positive note, the one tea they offered (yes, just one tea option available to drink at this afternoon tea that’s over $80 per person) was supremely smooth and delicious, but it can be purchased in the museum gift shop which saves you the expense and disappointment of trying it here. Would recommend the lovely museum to anyone but strongly caution against the tearoom! The setting is stunning but unless they overhaul the food offerings, it’s simply not worth it. Hurts to say since I love afternoon tea and a place this pretty deserves better :-(
