Amazing Experience at Railroad Seafood & Brewery – Downtown! I had an absolutely wonderful time during my recent visit to Railroad Seafood & Brewery – Downtown. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was amazing — flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. What truly made our experience special was our server, Grace. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout our meal. Her positive attitude and friendly service added a personal touch that we really appreciated. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, a fun atmosphere, and outstanding service. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
This is a neat little place in corpus. The food was excellent, and the beer was nice and cold. We got hamburgers, grilled redfish, coconut shrimp, and a flight of house beers. Everything was wonderful. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Corpus.

Google
Food was amazing! Service was even better! This was my first experience here with my mother and we’re from out of town. Katrina made the entire experience worth the trip. She was able to make great recommendations, answer all our questions, and consistently keep our table clean. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we’ll definitely be back. Loved her! 5 star service!

Google
Seated immediately at a clean table with friendly vibes. We split the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We had the blackened snapper and blackened redfish both were cooked well and were also delicious. The sides were also very well made and delicious. The maque choux was the hit of the day. It's a corn side dish that is both savory and sweet and complimented the blackened redfish perfectly. Our server Janelle was fast, friendly and took great care of us. We will definitely be back!

Google
Really great place to eat. Great service and great food. A little loud, but not overwhelming. Definitely recommend the burgers and the salads. Large portions and decent prices. The broiled catfish was absolutely delicious. Make sure to stop by if you are ever in the area. One think to note....they serve their fries mixed with regular and sweet potato fries called hobo. If you dont want that, you have to tell them.

Google
To start off, my bartender was very nice and knowledgeable about the food and drink. The food however was pitiful, I ordered the seared tuna appetizer at medium rare, it came out dry like a brisket that was on the smoker for too long and fell apart. The only thing that saved it was the cilantro dressing that came with it. For my main I ordered the shrimp and grits....if that's what you want to call it. The shrimp were very hard, the grits were undercooked and the amount of grease in the dish could have been swum in. When my almost full dish was taken back to the kitchen, no management or staff came out and asked if anything was wrong with the dish. The manager did give me $5 off the dish in an attempt to make up for the poorly made dish. I had come to this restaurant a couple of years ago and was very pleased, this time was very different however and I doubt I will be coming back.

Google
I loved the atmosphere. The food was good, but not great. I ate here twice and had the grilled shrimp, that was over seasoned, and the Red Snapper, which was awesome. The coconut shrimp was a winner as well. The cole slaw, potatoes, and veggies were all great. I liked the selection of drinks, and they were good. I really likedthe Bourbon bread pudding. It could use some more Bourbon, and I recommend al mode. They do have happy hour from 3-7. The service was rough the first time, and good the second. I will go again, so give it a try.

Yelp
First time here and it was my birthday. Janelle was my server. AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!! AWESOME!! She was very much an attention to detail kind of server. She didn't miss a beat (and there were 5 of us and we ordered allot of food) and served all of us with no mistakes and very very very friendly. Then, A gentleman, named Ivan, that works there as well, came out and personally sang Happy Birthday!!! OMG!!! You have to go there and have him sing happy birthday to ya!!! It's a must!!! The service was great, the food was great, the atmosphere was great, the price was great. This is a totally must go and eat!!! I give it a 10 all the way around!!!

Yelp
Good day folks!! I like beer. I like seafood. We were in Corpus and guess what? Found this place with great seafood and beer!! I enjoy finding beers that are signature items that I won't find anywhere else. Found a couple at RRSB , Cerveza la Flor- hibiscus and spices - and Peach Hefe- clean and fruity - so yumm!! Their black drum and shrimp were lightly breaded and so so fresh!! Tasted of the gulf. And sealing the deal was great attentive service from our waiter. Look after us from the time we sat down - till we left out the door- mad props to you!!! Thank you Let Love Lead!

Yelp
We were seated promptly for lunch at noon during the week. I ordered the Cobb salad and asked for a side of shrimp. The server mentioned it was a 1/4 pound of shrimp but I neglected to ask the cost, thinking it would probably not be too high. Well, it was $9.99 for 4 shrimp on a rice pilaf, which I didn't order. Overall, the shrimp was good but I definitely wouldn't order as an add on again. The salad was huge and fresh.

Yelp
We drove from Houston to Corpus for the first time. Looking to see where I wanted to have lunch decided on this place. We LOVED it! Service was fantastic, drinks were great but the food was AMAZING. When we come back to the area we will definitely be stopping here again.

Yelp
First time here. Walked in and the place was packed with people. We were offered immediate seating at the bar. Despite how crowded they were, the bartender greeted us immediately upon sitting. We ordered the Railroad Brussels bowl - that is a must have! Also the seafood Gumbo and the fried shrimp plate. all of which was fantastic. We were sad that we had never been here before, but now this is one of our favorite restaurants in Corpus. PS. Try the Texas red on tap if you like a good amber beer.

Robert A.

Yelp
I ordered the "Special of the Day" which happened to be Blackened Drum. It was absolutely "Delicious!" My 3rd visit and not disappointed! I will return when I'm back in Corpus Christi.

Yelp
We came for an early dinner and had the best hush puppies. Our server was so great with recommendations. I went for the crab cakes (fried) with a Caesar salad (premium side) and the broccoli slaw. My dining partner had the shrimp and grits. We were both so pleased with the excellent flavors. To top it off we took a piece of their coconut cream pie to go and had it back at our hotel. It was so good, we came for another slice tonight and grabbed a piece of the chocolate cream too!

Yelp
Cons: - cold to warm food on the sampler - Calamari, fried mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and fried egg rolls were not crispy at all - cold fries with all our meals Pros: - Huge burger (Railroad Burger) - Attentive waitress - Drinks were always topped off - house made beers available, but did not partake - Chill vibe, not busy I have passed by this place several times and always said one day I would try it. That one day was my birthday and I was excited to try it out. Sad to say, I was disappointed with the food. Most of all our food was cold to lukewarm. I didn't feel like complaining because it's such a drain on my energy, so we paid and walked out in disappointment. Hopefully this place works on serving fresh, hot-off-the-grill food. I would give this place another try, but not anytime soon.

Yelp
I had the crab cakes with hobo fries and new potatoes Forgot to take a picture but those crab cakes don't owe me nothing! They were really good. Seasoned crisp, nice outside crunch and stuffed! Onions and red potatoes were good too. But you can't go wrong with grilled onions!

Fred L.

Yelp
First I've been there but I ordered a burger was delicious !. Service was good and the ambiance a little noisy but over all excellent.

Airtrain M.

Yelp
I wouldn't give this place more than one star. Save your money and find a restaurant that's actually worth it. Honestly, I would've been better off taking my family to the local dive bar for a bag of chips and a pickled egg. The staff didn't seem to know their own menu. I ordered the blackened shrimp -- it came out overcooked -- paired with soggy "Hobo fries." The "Brute Pub Burger" turned out to be a glorified Bubba Burger topped with an over-easy egg. I expected much more from this place, and it ended up being a serious letdown. You've been warned.

Danna B.

Yelp
We ate here last night and everything was wonderful our waitress Katrina was spot on. Our drinks appetizers and food was served in a timely manner. She was the best waitress. I give the restaurant 5 stars because that's all that was offered I would give the restaurant and our waitress 15 stars!!!!!

Yelp
The waitress mess up order didn't bring what I ordered i asked her opinion on two item shrimp grits or coconut shrimp she said shrimp and grits so that what I ordered she brought out coconut shrimp at this point husband already had food and i didn't want wait longer so I kept it . It was just ok wasn't worth price I can cook it better at home and it actually taste like coconut shrimp. She messed up my husband side order too expensive Brussels bowl was great all the mess up the waitress didn't offer a discount or gift card nothing for inconvenience not sure if we will return

Yelp
Went to railroad tonight, food was ok, but the biggest issue was beer prices. We arrived at 5:30 and ordered two beers each. Two Supremos and two Hopadillo. Got are bill and the four beers cost $31.00. $8.50 for the Supremos and $7.00 for the Hopadillos. I was shocked at the prices for these pints. According to there current menu, it was happy hour, which states happy hour was between 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Our server told us it wasn't happy hour and walked away. I know I am only one person, but I'll let as many as I know to be cautious before they go here. This location ripped me off.

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Katrina was amazing. Bloody Mary was great. I will definitely be back. kudos to the hush puppies free meal for my server

Ana Carolina G.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Railroad Brewing after seeing so many great reviews, but unfortunately, my visit was disappointing. Despite ample parking and being seated right away (as the place wasn't busy), the service was practically non-existent. We waited over 15 minutes without anyone stopping by to acknowledge us or even offer drinks. Meanwhile, I could see several staff members chatting behind the doors and two waitresses talking with each other. It was frustrating to be ignored when there clearly wasn't a rush of customers. The food may be great--I wouldn't know because we left before ordering. It's hard to justify staying when the service didn't even meet basic expectations. Hopefully, this was just an off day, but I wouldn't rush back anytime soon.

Yelp
Great seafood restaurant with a great atmosphere. This place is great for date nights or families. There is bar seating if you are solo or want to catch a sporting event! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Checked this place out while we were vacationing. Got the fish tacos, red snapper, crawfish étouffée, and pasta. Large portions. Did not skimp on the fish. Wish I took a picture of our food. Everything was delicious. Service was fantastic. Good vibe. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
Second time dining here recently. The first time I got the crawfish étouffée which was alright at best. I wouldn't order it again. Today I got a bowl of seafood gumbo which was delicious and the serving size is plenty to fill you up. The service both times has been good. The ambiance is relaxing and not overpowering with excessive noise so you can easily carry on a conversation.

Ivy L.

Yelp
I've been here before and I love the food, me and my boyfriend went for lunch and got seated in a booth, waited 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or taking our drink order. Meanwhile there were like 6 waitresses sitting at the front chatting. We walked out after the 20 minutes so who knows how long we would have been sitting there. I have never left a review in my life but this deserves a one star.

Yelp
My friend and I were visiting Corpus and wanted to try some local beers. We had her doggo with us and Railroad has a nice dog friendly patio. We were the only ones out there on a Monday night, but it was great. We shared a flight of beers as well as the fish tacos and peel and eat shrimp. the fish tacos were MASSIVE. They were delicious, but I'm glad that we shared. I swear each taco had an entire filet of fish. nice spot to chill and enjoy some beer. The beer selection was a little limited. they didn't have a ton of options, but it was nice to try something local and new.

Debbie R.

Yelp
No.. if I wanted pre-breaded frozen shrimp and fries I would have stayed home and cooked it myself. It wasn't anything special... and we wont go back!

Yelp
What a nice place to stumble upon on July 4th! So glad this place was open, and we got to experience their hospitality! Jennifer was our waitress and she was SO friendly, helpful, and just simply seemed like a great person. She recommended the favorite house-brewed beers which we greatly appreciated. We came in for a quick bite, but it was so much better of a welcome than we expected! We ordered some beers (but we were also eyeing some of their other drinks like the pina colada and the Jack's lemonade as well). Then we got some lunch including the crab stuffed shrimp (we really loved the house tartar sauce, even on the hobo fries) and the railroad burger. Loved the bun and the onion rings on it, and anything you may need to add you can ask for (mayo, hot sauce, etc). Then we couldn't pass up dessert (there were SO many options!) so we got the homemade key lime pie. Plating was awesome and the pie was wonderful! Next time we're in Corpus we'll definitely come back

Yelp
Very cool brewery right downtown Corpus Christi. I have yet to have been to a brewery that serves a full bar, including beers that are not just theirs. We came in on a week night around 6pm and were seated right away. The service was very fast, quick and friendly! As a table we shared the Brussel Sprout Bowl for an appetizer and they were sooooo good. Crispy and smothered in a bacon glaze, which gave a ton of flavor. As an entree I got the Sweet Chili Salmon salad. The Salmon is cooked to order so you are able to choose your temperature. It was cooked to perfection. They have a large parking lot and plenty of seating inside and out. The menu here is also extensive, so there is plenty for your full group to choose from. They had a ton of drink specials and a good happy hour as well. Will definitely be back here when back in town.

Sarah R.

Yelp
How does it take 50 minutes to make three fried entrees? The food was mediocre at best when it finally came. The server apologized profusely but offered nothing but excuses. Multiple tables were served long before us. There's probably a better choice than this. Choose that, you'll thank me.

Yelp
Best fish tacos! ... March, 2023 Visit For spring break we visited Corpus Christi, to enjoy a bit of sun and relaxation, and we enjoyed the trip. We were looking for cajun and found Railroad Cafe. They have cajun items and other food, too. We really enjoyed all the food: - crab cakes and a Caesar salad - crawfish étouffée, with veggies - fish tacos - the biggest / fullest and tastiest fish tacos I've ever enjoyed... do very tasty and filling Thanks you, Railroad Cafe!

Yelp
So good, we returned for a second time! Both times the food was fantastic. Each of the servers that we worked with were very attentive and always made sure that everything was exactly the way we wanted it. Each of the menu selections were Delicious. I have now visited this location a total of four times. Each time is fantastic! If there is a complaint. It would be that the cheesecake is very generic and frozen. But it still had a great taste.
google avatar

Randa T.

Yelp
Server had absolutely no idea what it meant to need to be gluten free and therefore had no suggestions about the menu except not to eat bread. Thanks. Anyway, I ordered the grilled redfish, green beans and cheesy grits. The grits looked like they had a Kraft single laid across the top of the bowl. Okay. The green beans were very good, not just canned. The fish was moist and tasty. Enjoyed our meal even though we were surrounded by dogs on the patio. No view. The service was slow. Husband totally loved the bourbon bread pudding and raved several times about how good it was. Tried to return but the restaurant is closed on Sunday. Manager--please educate staff about celiac disease, wheat allergies and gluten intolerances.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by locals so we decided to try it. We sat in the back and the waitress came immediately to take our orders. The fried shrimp was very good.
google avatar

Luigi B.

Yelp
This is one of those places that could be amazing, but does fall short. Service was great, Ada took great care of our party, made sure all 8 of us had a very good time. The place itself is a place you would want to go to. But the food was really not prepared well and the beer could have been bought at HEB. Literally. September/October is a time of October fest but strangely they don't brew one (didn't expect when I ordered an October fest I would get a Shiner). Sadly enjoying a place that close to the coast and the fish was dry and had to get drenched in sauce to eat. I was happy the flavor was there but little else. I will say the queso with the crawfish tails was pretty darn good. Just don't think I would purposely go back.
google avatar

JL G.

Yelp
Red Snapper Ponchatrain is a definite must try. My spouse had the fried red snapper and also very fresh and crispy. My son Trey had the fried shrimp. Enjoy the micro brewery

Sarah S.

Yelp
Food was ok. Was told there was no pasta, only to see 3 pasta dishes served at the table next to us about 5 min later. Service was not good. Beer was bad. Flat and water downed. I think our server left it sitting for a while on the bar.
google avatar

Robin M.

Yelp
This was our first time eating here and had a great experience. We ate at the bar where bartender, Kim, served us. She is one of the friendliest, attentive and caring people we've come across in a while. She made our dinner special. The food was delicious; highly recommended!

Justin M.

Yelp
We had a double date to this restaurant. We went in time to have a couple drinks for happy hour. Once seated we were not greated for 15 mins. Waiter apologized for the wait but could not accommodate for at least one round of drinks under happy hour prices. He took a look at his watch and said sorry it just turned 7pm. Shrimp was overcooked and the other 3 plates were just meh. It had been a couple years since we were here last and we do not see going back anytime soon.

Bob A.

Yelp
Great place, Excellent service, good selection of brews. Best Wedge Salad I've every had.
google avatar

Luke R.

Yelp
So me and my family went to corpus for the weekend and we decided to try this place out , we got seated at 6:19pm and didn't receive our meals till 8pm. I ordered the surf and turf meal with my steak cooked to medium . When I got the food it was cold and my steak was cooked well well done with no flavor. The only thing that saved the night was the shrimp and the alcoholic drinks we bought.
google avatar

Coral M.

Yelp
The atmosphere is awesome music services. Great drinks are cold. The salmon salad is to die for.
google avatar

Jolina K.

Yelp
Great beer menu, the shrimp tacos were amazing! I highly recommend the Cerveza de la flor
google avatar

Yelp
Usually this place has an A game on service and food. Today I've watched 2 servers, 1 hostess and 1 manager walk past this.

Yelp
This was not good. At all. We came in on a Tuesday night around 6pm for a party of eight. Granted, I know bigger tables can sometimes cause an issue, but it's a Tuesday so I'd hope that some of that would be mitigated. I ordered the "stuffed shrimp" which came with two sides. I requested a side salad as one of my sides, but noted on the menu it was a "premium side" and would cost an extra $1.99. Apparently this premium salad consists of iceberg lettuce mix, shredded carrots, chopped tomatoes, and one small black olive. No croutons, no cheese, no hard boiled egg. I'm my book that's not exactly premium.... The entrees took quite a while to come out. When they did arrive, my stuffed shrimp looked about the size of regular shrimp. My dad who ordered the same plate said "I think I got the wrong food, these don't look stuffed." The stuffing was quite sparse but had decent flavor. The shrimp itself seemed a bit tough and overcooked. My mom ordered the baked stuffed shrimp and offered me one. They were horribly over cooked and rubbery. My husband had the snapper ponchatrain and his fish was also very over cooked. My sister had the chicken tender plate which arrived with a curly hair on it, so she had to send it back for a replacement. The prices here are not cheap, we're talking close to $30 a plate with the "premium side" salad. For that price I expect a LOT more. Our waiter was attentive and polite, I'll give him that. That's about where the good begins and ends. The atmosphere was weird too. One waiter kept singing loudly every time he walked by. Like opera music or something??? Bizarre. It was also very noisy in general and difficult to talk to our table mates. I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Kirby S.

Yelp
Went there right after Texas A&M CC graduation. Very busy, but very good service, diverse menu options and really good food!! Craft beers also good

AJ S.

Yelp
Service left a lot to be desired. I walked in and stood at the desk waiting to be seated. Three people stood there chatting, ignoring me entirely. I stood there for five minutes. In that time, two people walked away and the one guy left just stood there wiping down menus and never spoke until I spoke to him. Fast forward. It was the end of happy hour. I ordered a vodka raspberry lemonade. It was hands down the worst drink I've ever had. It was way too sweet, and tasted muddy. I barely touched it the whole dinner, but our waitress never asked if she could get me something else or if it was ok. When I asked for a tea and shared how bad the drink was, there was no effort to bring me anything else and they charged me for it. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. We got a plate full of melted mozzarella with a handful of mushrooms buried under there. The cheese was way too much, and greasy. I had the black drum, beer battered, and grilled shrimp with sweet potato fries and a Caesar salad. The salad wasn't brought out with the meal - in fact, it didn't come out until after my meal. The fish had a strong fishy taste, and the battered oozed grease. The shrimp were hammered - so tough they were like meat gristle. The fries were fine. Thank goodness for those. In short, terrible experience, and the only seafood we had during our trip, so even more disappointing. Never again.
google avatar

Gloria B.

Yelp
This place has great staff. Service is good and food is great. My husband loved the shrimp and grits. Best he has ever had. The shrimp tacos I might try with flour tortilla next time. Corn tortillas got cold and hard. They have a good selection of wine and of course beer. I do recommend this restaurant if you are in downtown Corpus!

Paige W.

Yelp
Very average food and beer. I would say one step higher than bar food. I don't think we would eat there again, not quite worth the price for the value of the food.
google avatar

Joyce T.

Yelp
I love drumfish, who knew! It was a great slab of flaky, juicy and spicy (blackened/cajun) drumfish. Its served on a bed of dirty rice and 2 sides. Got a salad and green beans for sides. They brew their own set of beers on premises. Good variety of styles. There are in and outdoor seating. Bar area, too.
google avatar

Tim R.

Yelp
Great brew and food with a dog friendly patio. Waitress brought out a big bowl of water and kept it filled.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
We weren't allowed to sit on the restaurant side even with open tables. We were seated on the bar side. It was sooooo loud you couldn't have a table conversation without yelling. Our server had no idea what beers were or on tap nor anything about the beer differences. We ended up walking out and going to our trusted oldie- Saltwater Grill.
google avatar

Cheryl Q.

Yelp
Trying local restaurants with in-house brewing is a must when vacationing. Railroad Seafood & Brewery is the best choice my family and I have made during all our trips. The brews and food were really good, but the service we received from Bentley made our visit miles above fantastic. He made sure the beers and meals were to our liking. Even though the current special, Shrimp Pesto Pasta, was not available the staff was able to make up a batch and it was incredible! Bentley answered all the questions we bombarded him with, helped with dessert decision on cheesecake and made a good, strong coffee to go with the dessert. We hope to return to CC soon for another visit and are looking forward to good food and drinks at Railroad served by Bentley!

Yelp
Found a new favorite. My first time here and service was awesome, Juan G. took great care of my daughter and I. The food was also excellent and well worth the trip to Corpus. I had the barbeque shrimp and Avecado salad. Bring wet naps if you wanna stay clean though. My daughter really love the crawfish ettouffe. We will be back thanks to all the positive qualities Railroad Brewing Co. has to offer.
