Excellent experience, very happy that I called in to this museum! Wiki gives a good overview of what to expect exhibit wise. The buildings are also of note. You can wander around and climb up into multiple exhibits. I was lucky enough to meet Gordon Murray himself, calling in on his day off, and he very kindly autographed the brief history books about the national railways of Zimbabwe that are available for purchase. A must visit attraction if you are in the area and social and transport history is your thing.

Very reasonably priced. Doesn't offer a tour guide. Only got to know when we were almost done that the closed sections could be viewed with one of the staff members. The trains are well preserved and easily accessible. Even managed to go into a tanker

Interesting museum ran by a passionate and a very kind men. There's a big collection of trains, including private Cecil Rhode car. You can ride on a trolley/push car. If you have some free time in Bulawayo, it's worth a visit.

For any steam train enthusiast the museum is paradise. The volunteer custodian,Gordon, very generously opened up some special exhibits for me. The entry fee is token. I would gladly have paid more. A must see in Bulawayo.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and passionate about the history of the railways of Zimbabwe. There are a lot of engines to walk round and look at, as well as some informative displays. My only criticism is that you need the guide book to discover information about the engines there are no plaques with each engine. Fantastic to take children to as you are free to explore and climb into the engines, at your own risk of course. Some lovely souvenir stamps were given to us by the curator as we were leaving. Hopefully one day the railways will be up and functioning again in Bulawayo!
