Best burger in the city. Got a 12th man and a Sounders burger. Fire onion rings, fire burger, fire milkshake. 10000% coming back, been going here since 2013, it’s been good and still holds up.

Blue cheese burger and tater tots. Someone suggested this place to me long time ago. Burger taste pretty good, I went around 8pm so it's understandable why bacon was chewy, I like it crispy. Five stars tater tots, taste clean and crispy. It's tough to find parking, university area. Location near Greenlake is good thing.

The burger, fries, and onion rings were good. A bit on the smaller side for the price but still decent. The tables were dirty but the staff came and cleaned them. Everyone was pretty friendly too.

Delicious burgers!!! a bit on the pricey side but worth it. I had the BBQ and Hawaiian Chicken burgers, both were full of flavor. The fries were crispy and perfectly salted. Can’t wait to come back and try the Masala Chicken Burger next time! Would highly recommend

Neighborhood burger joint with excellent selection of burgers. Thick milkshakes and crispy fries and onion rings. Very fast service! Older building but adds to the vibe.

12th man burger is awesome. Onion rings are perfection. Shakes are all delicious. Staff is super friendly. I can't find Anything here to criticize. It's a cozy restaurant in a very old building and it feels quintessentially Seattle. I really love eating here whenever I'm in the area. You definitely can't go wrong with this one.

This review is long overdue! I have been coming here for years and it’s probably my favorite burger place in Seattle! They have great topping combinations, my favorite being the Sonics burger. I recommend replacing their rain city sauce on any burger for their spicy rain city sauce! The spicy rain city sauce is the main reason I fell in love with this place! I usually buy 6 little containers to go for 25cents each (they give you two per fry order). I love fries and their fries have always been pretty good, but I think they recently upped their game even more because the last couple times I went, they were so perfectly crispy on the outside and potato-y on the inside. Not fancy, plenty of seating. I usually park at the green lake park n ride to go here.

A great neighborhood burger joint they have a great menu that serves every dietary needs. They have great fast service and delicious burgers highly recommended

**Vegetarian Review** MUST TRY. Stumbled into this place unexpectedly and had one of the best burgers. Not many places have a veggie burger, but Rain City had 5+ options. We got the Mushroom Swiss, per suggestion and it did not disappoint. Veggie patty was bomb. Thick portobello slice was complimented by a think pickle. Their house sauce is like a BBQ thousand island and that could go on everything. Sweet potato fries were also a must. Service was great from recommendations, to quick food delivery and employees cleaned tables after patrons finished. TVs for football games and place was packed with other people who were audibly enjoying their meals. I would not pass by this place without trying. Didn't have a picture because we consumed the food immediately. This place knows their sh%t.

Really solid burger spot. Prices are good and the atmosphere is very community centered. I love the owners support various sports teams and they seem really proud to put the pictures on the walls. The interior is cozy and it reminds me of an old school mom and pop burger shop by a beach or neighborhood. Service is always great and the rotating college or high school students are trained well. The rain city sauce is a nice blend of smoky and creamy. I enjoy it on my patties and the grill on them is always perfect. With so much burger competition I focus more on the quality of the burger. I've watched staff carefully put together each burger. It's not like a conveyer belt model in which meat and bread is slapped on without care. It reminds me of a family member make food with love at a cookout. I love supporting this burger joint and they have lots of combinations of burgers. If you're not a purist, this is a plus. I've been here twice- once for takeout and one for eating in- and both times they gave me a meat burger despite ordering a veggie burger. Both times I verified that I ordered a veggie burger. The most recent time, the wrapper even said VG on it and had pickles removed as ordered yet they gave me a meat burger and a veggie burger to my partner who ordered meat. Both times they corrected the order and were apologetic but honestly I have lost trust in this place. If you're a vegetarian or vegan be aware and double check your order!!!

Really great burger. There are plenty of options to get fancy or fun: cream cheese. Avocado, etc... or you can go classic - but regardless it's a really good burger. They have shakes, fries, tots and onion rings. And beer on tap. The interior Is pretty run down/college vibes - not really for me - but the staff is super sweet and prices are affordable. Pro tip: grab it to go and hit the bar down the street

OK, it's my son's birthday. He wanted a burger. I heard about this place for the last 10 years never really went, but we went and got him a big old double cheeseburger with bacon. It was amazing. The service was good even though there was a few lacking issues like they forgot to cook our Burger and the burger was like $15 fries were separate. That was an extra five milkshake was like an extra five my beer was like an extra six so it was a little overpriced. The ambience was a nice little local burger place. It wasn't super busy, but it's a small business that I definitely will go back and support. We were very pleased. We ate them there and took the rest to go. I would definitely suggest them, but parking was difficult.

One of my customers recommended this Burger restaurant. My favorite is the crispy tater tots. Burger was pretty good, I got the blue cheese with bacon, which was kind of chewy. In defense of the cooks, I came in late 8pm before closing time of 9pm so it's understandable. Limited parking available, one way street near the university area.

A burger joint, yes, but it wasn't a greasy spoon. Burgers, fries and tater tots done much better than you'd expect. Local flavor, big selection and a friendly counter man. What's not to like. In Thailand they give Michelin stars to places like this.

They're back! Always had a great experience there (since day one!) but in the last few years the quality seemed to have slacked off. Figured I'd give them one more chance and I'm happy to report they are back. Had a BBQ burger and a 12 man burger. Both great!

Yumm! Been eyeing this spot for years always intending to stop. Yesterday I was in the right spot and HUNGRY! Got a blue cheese bacon burger and oh my goodness! Heavenly! Order at the counter and the cashier will bring your order to you. Staff is friendly and clearly have many regulars as they chatted up customers. I didn't realize there were tables til I stepped inside. Basic seating about 8 tables but tables and chairs were wiped down and clean. Don't be put off by the downbeat exterior (or basic interior), the food is Great!

Rain city burger is located in a convenient location in Roosevelt! I got the sonics burger and some sweet potato fries. My total was $17 which I thought was a little steep for burgers and fries. The food was good, but also nothing special. They do have an extensive menu though so I would be interested in trying their other burgers! The service was fast and there was lots of seating in the restaurant.

I was looking forward to this but I gotta say I was a bit underwhelmed- I got the Hawaiian vegetarian burger and the flavor was nice but it didn't give the satisfaction that a great burger does.

I stopped in here for a quick bite when my friend and I couldn't decide on what to eat! I feel like you can't go wrong with burgers and they were decent!! I also liked the fries, I normally don't go for thick cut but they had a good bite to them. I ordered the ABLT ($10.64) and it was smaller than I expected. With that said I was full and satisfied by the end! My friend got a burger with the fries and paid ~$20 and didn't think it was worth it. It definitely gives small local shop vibes. The area it's located in (roosevelt) is really peaceful! It's been hard for me to find a lot of burger places in seattle, so it's worth checking out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

These are the absolute best burgers in the Seattle area. Lots of different options, fair prices, excellent shakes! Really fast service. Only a few tables, so be aware during busy times you might not be able to sit inside. Tip: Order off the Rain City website if you're going to pick up. Everything is priced lower on their website vs ordering via DoorDash or Caviar. Very clean & efficient.

Love the jalapeños in the burger! The brioche bun is also toasted to perfection. I would highly recommend their special sauce, it tastes like cheesy spicy mayo. The staff is super friendly, fast service. A bit difficult to park nearby since it is located in a busy intersection.

Took a solo stroll and stumbled upon this burger place. Small and friendly. No combo style just order burger fries and soda separately. Amazing tots! Didn't need sauce for these taters I'll be back soon

I was craving a burger and Rain City Burgers was nearby, so I ordered takeout. They're fast, it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. I really enjoyed the burger! Their beef patty was thick, and the toppings and sauce were flavorful. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries, which were pretty crispy and not too soft. The only improvement I would give the burger is for the bun, which was a little dry. I wish the bun had been softer. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Rain City Burgers and I would recommend them if you need a burger fix! I would also come back to try the milkshakes.

Grabbed take out here on my way home. Though they have a whole veggie burger menu, it's only boca burgers or a black bean burger, which are not particularly appetizing choices as a vegetarian of over a decade. There are tastier and better quality veggie burgers out there. Because of that, I ordered a grilled cheese and tots, which were quite tasty! The shake was also pretty good and was made freshly. The pricing was pretty reasonable for the area. They got my food out pretty quick even though I was a walk in for the take out order. There is space to eat in if you'd like too, with a lot of brightly colored tables and chairs.

The burgers are incredibly flavorful. Straight umami. Website pics dont do it justice. Good takeout experience.

Was starving and didn't know where to eat but came across this place, it's was like crack..I literally couldn't put my burger down. Flavors were amazing, definitely my new favorite place, hit the spot!

The Sounder with cream cheese, jalapeno and bacon is one of my go to burgers in North Seattle. They also have great milk shapes and you can mix multiple flavors.

Burgers are OK, but definitely not worth the price. If you get a no bun lettuce wrap option be prepared to be very underwhelmed and feel like you got ripped off. Easy to order online for pickup but the amount of food you get for the price most certainly negates anything good. Would rather drive to Dick's or make my own burgers at home for what I got for $10. No thank you!

I was here visiting and hands down best burger I've ever had! This was such a great staple of Seattle! Also their milkshakes and signature sauce is fire!!!!!!!

This place was so good! Burger was so juicy. I got the Hawaiian veggie burger and it was delicious. The pineapple was super juicy and it came out nice and hot. The onion rings were so crispy and delicious and the house sauce was insane. The milkshake was delicious and you can also double up the flavours and the peppermint shake was an absolute delight. my friends and I were super satisfied with the food. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!!

I'm not a big burger person, so when I have the random craving for one I need to satisfy it right away! Rain City was there to get the job done! I purchased a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and was impressed by how delicious each bite was thanks to their savory special sauce! My only disappointment was the joint itself is not as well kept, I'm assuming because they were quite busy the day I went, but it would be nice to see the location a bit cleaner when I visit again! Otherwise, definitely recommend!

I just had a double cheeseburger and it was outstanding. It is reminiscent of a fast food burger but only in all of the ways that are good if that makes sense. The sesame seed bun, the American cheese, the patties were nicely cooked with some char and they were thick. It's a good value as well.

Love at first bite! The mushroom Swiss burger used a huge Portobello mushroom with just a touch of smoke flavoring. Tator tots were golden brown and piping hot. Self serve fountain inspired me to make a graveyard: mine was Coke, orange, ice tea and lemonade. The ambience? I was in a reverie over the food...but when I came to, I noticed the utilitarian wall covering...

Food is delicious. I ordered the sounder burger which is a signature buger in this restaurant. The jalapeno and somked bacon in the burger make it special. It is not a classic burger (e.g. quarter pound burger in McDonalds), but it is worth to try.

Sometimes you just want a great burger, especially from a place that features so many different burgers to choose from. You can't go wrong here! I enjoyed the Roosevelt Special and a glass of Manny & Jacks Amber Ale, and it made my day. Perfectly cooked burger, fresh buns, tomatoes and toppings fresh, it was fantastic.

Food is good! Burger is pretty juicy. Ingredients are fresh. Burger is wrapped so your hands don't get dirty. Tater tots is excellent. Fried with fresh oil. And it came out as freshly fried. Service was great - the server politely answered my questions and gave me guidance without trying to sell me unnecessary items. Seats were around 10-15, but I guess they might have more seats other time. The ambience was nice - it was not noisy and a nice place to have good foods and have a chat with friends. Lots of sports flags were hanging including soccer. Nice to see as a soccer fun :)

There are a lot of options for burgers and include chicken and vegetarian burgers. All the burgers are under $10 which is amazing given the average price of burgers I've seen elsewhere in the range of $10-15+. Some of their best selling burgers are ones named after Seattle sports teams. Even the walls and decor of the restaurant are those of Seattle sports teams colorways like neon green and blue. They also serve beer and wine here if you're looking for that. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger ($8.49) and the sonics burger ($9.49). The mushroom swiss burger is what you'd expect although the mushrooms are bigger pieces rather than the typical thin slices. For the sonics burger there is hot sauce but it was not spicy at all. It's one of the better burgers I've had in the greater Seattle area since they don't go crazy with the toppings. If I'm in the area and I'm craving a burger or something simple I'll make a stop here.

The telltale sign of a good local burger spot is its ambiance - no frills, no gimmicks, just a clear focus on quality and customer service. Rain City checks these boxes and their burgers prove it. I got to try the Sonics burger and Roosevelt special, both of which surprised me with the freshness of their ingredients. Both were very solid burgers, clearly made with attention to quality. They were a tad messy to eat - the sauce seemed to drip quite a bit and made the buns a little soggy - but were nonetheless delicious. The fries were also solid - perfectly crispy on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside, with the right amount of saltiness, and no greasiness or oiliness whatsoever. The Rain City sauce I got with them had a little too much mayo flavor for my liking, though it is a matter of preference. The oreo shake was also good; it was initially too thick and chunky to drink with the straw, though this was easily remedied with a spoon. For the price point, the burgers are a great value as you get what you pay for. However, there were not as many fries as expected for $5 and the shake was a little pricey compared to other spots, but again, Rain City does not skimp on quality.

Looks shady and dead from the outside but this place has withstand time and has been a neighborhood favorite for decades. Before this block will be forced to tear down for new apartments, you should try it. Its good o' quality burgers. Each side comes with a free sauce of your choosing - the rain city sauce is basically the chick-fil-a sauce with more mayo.

Came here for dinner on weekday. Wasn't busy and ordered the mushroom swiss burger and tater tots. The burger was pretty good and the meat was juicy. I got two patties since I was hungry and I would say it was decently worth it. The tater tots were average, not bad and not super good.

The burgers are phenomenal. The meat was juicy and well cooked well also being well seasoned. The toppings were fresh and crunchy! Love the fact that it was quick, easy and fast! Seems clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and quick to greet us. Thank you guys for making this a great visit!

Just an "okay" burger. The patty didn't have much flavor. I got one with mushrooms, but I couldn't really taste them. The bun was nice, and I liked that some of the edges got greasy and squishy.

In this city of 4 and 3 star restaurants, it's incredibly refreshing to find a great burger place like Rain City Burgers. They have so many options and add-ons that their chalk board menu reads like the stock market. I don't eat land animals but from my choice of the Salmon Burger, I'm betting a hearty sum that their beef burgers are out of this world. So let's talk about the Salmon burger. First, it's not some processed patty. No, it's a chunky and flaky fillet. Cooked perfectly and the shredded lettuce, pickles, tomato and onion are in perfect proportion to the size of the salmon. The added sauce is tasty, but doesn't make it sloppy. The bun is a tad dense but I'm not here to complain one bit. This burger is completely satisfying and delicious. The fries are wonderfully crisp and the right amount of salty. You have to ask for a tub of their sauce (complimentary per one side) or you won't get any. I had the house sauce and it reminded me of when as a kid you would mix all the condiments together. Plus a little kick, paprika maybe?! Highly recommend this place and don't be scared off by the greasy bag it comes in. Just proves this place knows what it's doing.

Burger was divine. I ordered the 12th Man burger because it's the biggest. Added mushrooms and garlic fries. Hearty and satisfying. The waitress was very demure, very mindful when she placed the tray on the table.

Been eyeing this spot for some time. Tried the mushroom Swiss burger and it is phenomenal. I would come here just for that and nothing else. The fries were a bit too salty like other reviews mentioned. And the kids burger is pretty expensive, almost $7 for meat and cheese, with no toppings no sides. But the mushroom burger is only 9.49 and it's loaded with stuff. Will definitely come back for that.

Fantastic, unique burgers that have won several awards! I'd recommend the Hawaiian burger and the Mariners burger! Standard casual ambiance inside, I always get my order to-go to enjoy at home. Great, fast service with free side sauces.

We were out and about and had a craving for some good burgers. The burgers definitely hit the spot and the customer service was just out of this world. Extremely nice very patient with my accent and just true down home hospitality. If you're looking for a good burger and very friendly people, this is your place. The hardest part is finding parking. My suggestion would be just go up a block and find a street parking. If you have someone who can stay in the car while you go get the food, that would be the easiest. The inside is very comfortable as well if you want to sit down and eat it there.

I worship their macadamia nut milkshake and everyone I bring is instantly converted to the cult of Rain City. Onion rings are grade A, burgers are good (not the best in Seattle, but up there), but this freaking milkshake with a way too small straw that regulates flow so you can't just inhale the whole thing at once is the reason we come back.

Classic juicy burger with deliciously crispy onion rings and also loved the side dipping sauce! The milkshake was extremely thick but very good and the 12% happy hour discount made it all worth.
