Rain City Hot Dogs & Burgers

Super friendly service. Burgers are good. Fries are good. The dogs are good, but the Seattle Dog is skimpy on the cream cheese. I don’t want a dusting of cream cheese… I want a borderline gross slathering of it. Nonetheless, 4/5 for satisfying that rare “need a hotdog while shopping for lumber” craving - definitely worth it if you’re hungry while running errands and happen to be at Lowe’s.

Man oh man!!! The food and service was amazing! The food here is so good. Even a plain hot dog has tons of flavor. Whether this company has a new owner or not, I couldn’t even tell! The food tasted just the same as I remembered years ago. Great job on maintaining such an amazing food truck! Keep up the good work and amazing food!

Stopping by Lowes and need a little snack?! Rain City Hot Dogs & Burgers is a must!!! Their Smokey PB&J is so fun and delicious!!! They recommend I try it next time with jalapenos and you better believe I will!!

Reward yourself for going to Lowe’s and being an adult with a VERY well made seattle dog. They truly got it right with the amount of cream cheese & grilled onions. The dog is split & cooked perfectly. Self-serve condiments were good too!

I’ve eaten here a few times with my wife, and I must say the food here is amazing. And the woman who takes my order always finds a way to put my crazy orders together. For example, y’all gotta try the bacon burger with the PB&J ingredients! Or the bacon burger with the Seattle dog ingredients ! Both game changers.

I have eaten here for years but something has changed since I started working on a project in this area again recently. A. Gone is the brown mustard. B. The hot dog buns are toasted on the outside not the inside...if you know, you know. C. $18.75 for an eff'in hotdog and fries. Where do they get off? D. The dog was OK. E. The service is either dismissive, rude or lazy. Hopefully you can distract her from her phone when you walk up. No longer a 5-star trick for me. Meh.

I love Rain City Hot Dogs! The smoky PB and J dog is delicious! Such a unique combo. I honestly divert my way home from Seattle just to stop here. Not to shop at Lowe's and I don't live anywhere near close by! Give them a try if you get the chance. My one irk is they're on the pricier side and unfortunately were a victim of inflation so it's speedier than I'd like, but I don't mind too much because it's a quality product. Be nice if they could get down to pre-COVID prices though!

I have a lot of cherished childhood memories of going to the hardware store with my dad on Saturday afternoons. I would argue that had very little to do with the smell of lumber, and instead was the excitement of a post-shop hot dog from the truck out front. Rain City Hotdogs fulfills my need to reward myself with food for spending money on inevitable household repairs, and I'm so grateful for them. Don't be fooled - these dogs are a serious upgrade from your typical hardware hotdog cart! Half pound all beef, hot link, or Polish sausage, grilled to order with onions and mustard (cream cheese if you really must Seattle...) On a grilled bun no less! I've toyed with the idea of periodically breaking things in the house for an excuse to get down here... "What's that? The faucet is leaking again? No worries, I'll run to the store..".

I haven't been here in a while and I was sooooo disappointed! Hasn't been as good as the original owner but was still pretty good. Things change. Went yesterday and the biggest dogs in the city have significantly shrunk. These regular size hot dogs were not the same in size or taste. The dog was almost all bun not even fitting to the edges. These mediocre dogs also came with an huge price increase. Another good food truck down the drain. Will not be back.

So I am usually not a big hot dog fan but I haven't had a good dog in months and I was hungry coming out of the hardware store so figure let's get a hotdog after my trip to Lowe's. Fast forward many bites the seasoning is crispy good the bun has been grilled there's plenty of condiments available and it was maybe four minutes and my dog was donez Freaking delicious dog oversized to the barn so it sticks out in the classic city method whatever it is but I'm definitely getting one of these again. I think the total cost is like $5.50 and these are easily foot-long dogs, Service was quick friendly and the end result is very delicious

Epic. They catered a community/company event and it was legit from service to food. The guys that came out were friendly, helpful and nice to everyone that stood in line to get a hot dog. They had 3 options: Seattle (cream cheese and grilled onions), pb&j (peanut butter, cream cheese, raspberry jam, bacon) and the basic. Ya'll know I went for the most decadent one! It was amazing. The slab of peanut butter and jelly was perfect, just enough peanut butter to add the salty aspect and bunch of jelly to carry the sweetness to the last bite, the bacon was piled on and it was crispy, cream cheese felt unnecessary. Overall, the hot dog was too much but in a good way, definitely good to the literal last bite.

I love a good Seattle dog so I'm so sorry the original owner sold this business!! I would crave these dogs at least once a week. I've tried to give the new owners a chance but the dogs or buns are burnt, of course the prices went up significantly, greedy with the onions and spreads. I've completely lost the pleasure I used to find in visiting this food truck...

Excellent hot dogs here. Usually order the Seattle Dog & these guys make a really good one! I'm never disappointed. I love that they cut the dog down the middle, it cooks it throughout that way... this is now how I grill hot dogs at home. Yummy!

We are from San Diego and we wanted to try a famous Seattle dog! We googled "places to try a Seattle dog" and Rain City Hot Dog came up and we took a chance and went there! We are so happy we did! Not only were the owners absolutely nice and helped us find other places to try but the food is absolutely AMAZING! The Seattle dog is soo good! If you have room make sure to also try the Peanut butter bacon hot link! Would go here again and recommend my friends to try!

This place has gone from a 5 Star spot when you got a basic dog and Coke for $5, to a ZERO star for the previous owner always burning the burgers and dogs. Now, the NEW owner has hired Janet. And thanks to her, the quality is way back on top, along with the excellent customer service!! She highly recommended the Spicy Dog for some mild heat, good flavor and real juiciness. She even added fried onions at no cost. It was absolutely PERFECT!! Big thanks to the owner for hiring Janet!!!

The food was great, but the service was terrible, the guy was extremely rude. I ordered my food and waited at the pick up window, this guy gave me the hot dog and was going to prepare my cheeseburger, and asked me if I wanted the drinks (A coke and a dr pepper) now or by the time the cheeseburger was ready, I said: " I can have it now ", he gave me the coke and went to prepare the cheeseburger, and then I said: "I can also have the Dr Pepper ", he didn't answered or said anything, and then I said: "Excuse me?", Because I thought he didn't hear me, and he said: "Hey, I'm busy now " and brought the Dr Pepper right away. I got really confused after that attitude, I went to eat my food and said: " This place is not gonna have my money again", apparently he heard and got mad at me and never called me again to give me the cheeseburger, after awhile, I needed to ask him about my order, and he said: "I already called you twice about 10 minutes ago ", I said: "How did you called me twice, and I didn't hear you if I was here all the time?", and he just repeated it again. After that I decided to argue with that guy, got that cheeseburger and threw it away. For some reason that guy decided to treat me like that after giving him 20% tip, I regretted so bad of tipping that guy, and learned one thing, NEVER TIP BEFORE YOU GET SERVED, you will regret if something like that happen. By the way this guy look like a Mexican guy and was working there around 5:30PM on Wednesday 03/29/2023

Seattle dogs are supposed to have cream cheese on both sides! these also used to be loaded with onions what happened to my hot dog spot!

A Delicious Deal. Try the BBQ bacon burger. They make the bbq sauce in house and it's so good. The cook even loaded me up with all the delicious grilled onions!! McDs ain't got nothing on Rain City Dogs

Damn good dogs. I have been walking by and smelling the goodness for months and finally caved. Forgive me. Every bite was worth it. The fries come in a big paper sack and you gotta get some of that house sauce cause it is the best fry sauce you will ever put in your face hole. I got the PB&J dog with some added fixins offered up á la carte style. Definitely would consider having them cater for a large event.

$4.99 for a polish and a drink is something you can't beat. I was making a return at Lowes and decided to stop by to try it out. The polish had a nice char on it and there were plenty of condiments for me to add to my dog. The staff member was friendly and service was very quick. I recommend stopping here if you want a quick bite to eat!

I love the hot dog it self. It was good tasting snack. I was surprised how expensive it is just for plain hot dog with anything on $5 . The Seattle hot dog with cream cheese and onions was $6. The girl behind the counter was nice but bit slow. It's conveniently located right by Lowe's entrance and exit. Lots of parking available. Also the area smells delicious... hard to pass this

Oooh, saw the 5 star and gave a truck in front of Lowe's a shot. Bacon cheeseburger, cheeseburger with grilled onions and fries were ordered. Both burgers (which were clearly a frozen hamburger from a box store) and bun were burned. Leaving the texture of the bun and burger as crunchy, unfortunately the grilled onions contained onion skin and the fries also overly crisp (insert over cooked). This food just made me sad.

Labor day weekend, and like many others we were out to shop stuff for our yard. While schlepping soil and mulch you can get fairly hungry, thanks to Rain City Hot Dogs that they are right in FRONT of Lowe's! So we ordered two Seattle Dogs (you know, the good kind, with lots of cream cheese and caramelized onions) and it felt like a weird mixture of weekend-afternoon snacking and late-night fast fppd bingeing. The hot dogs were great, you can add more condiments on the side of the food truck, and we were much stronger afterwards so we could haul everything home! They offer regular and hot links, different add-ons (like bacon) and lots of condiments! You can order a drink or fries or get some chips while you're waiting.

Great street dogs. PB&J style with Louisiana hot link was surprisingly good. Their sign says you can't knock it till you try it so I tried it and I can't knock it. Perfect spot for quick lunch.

I have to admit that when my daughter told me she was going to hire a gourmet hot dog vendor for her wedding reception, I thought it was a little outside the box. However, the hot dogs were a huge hit! They did a great, timely and accurate job of making hot dogs for almost 200 people - to order! The flavor combinations were well received. Seems cream cheese on a hot dog is a thing! I would definitely recommend you try them out!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE for catered events!! We had Chad and his Hot Dog truck out for our staff event this past summer and it was a HUGE hit. Great choices for everyone, and his customer service is top notch. We love Rain City Hot Dogs!!

Stumbled upon this place while searching for a Seattle dog while on vacation. Was not disappointed, also heard the PB&J was a delicious and fun option.

First dog tonight and it was so delightful it left my pallets yearning for more! Chad grilled it himself and shared his story of starting this business. He is a smart, humble, and hungry entrepreneur! An absolute pleasure to meet him. Go get some dogs!!!

Rain city hot dogs is pretty delicious. I love their options but I love their staff even more. I come often toting toddlers and they are always so sweet. They even offer them a hot dog gummy candy(they even ask first). My kiddos LOVE it.

I just used Rain city for a client appreciation event. I can't rave about these hot dogs enough. They were there an hour early to set up and were so nice to everyone. The hot dogs were to die for! I'm not usually a hot dog person but the dogs were so good. The buns were yummy and made them that much better. I can't recommend them more highly and I will definitely use them again.

I've had street stand hot dogs in Seattle before, but nothing compares to rain city hot dogs. Chad is an amazing inventor and when I heard about the peanut butter and jelly dog I was seriously blown away! Def give this place a try if you haven't yet, you won't regret it! PS, my personal favorite is the Jamaican dog. If you love spicy food full of flavor as much as I do, this might be the one for you!

These guys rock! For some reason, every time I get their Hot Dogs, they seem super fresh and tasty. I love the PB and Jelly version! Sauteed caramelized onions are great addons! Also, recommended for Catering and Group Events 100 person & more.

Outside of Lowes. Used to be a cart and now a food truck upgrade. They have hot dogs and polish sausages. They have a couple of unique sauces. There is a peanut butter hot dog and it's better than you would think. Less than a sawbuck for a meal: hot dog with a coke and small bag of chips. The guys who run this are nice. I love stopping by this place when I have to get my house chores on.

My work partner and I were so excited to finally get our lunch break when these guys were open!! Only took weeks of us missing out!!! BUT LET ME TELL YOU!!!........every bite, plus the friendly service was awesome and satisfying !!!! If you have an itch for a hot dog, I mean a DELICIOUS hot dog....here's your spot!!!!

The Seattle Hot dog was good with the grilled onions and sour cream and pretty fulling too. I would come back.

This place had good hot dogs but not much variety.i don't think I'd drive out of the way to come back here, but if I was at Lowe's again I'd definitely get one. So if you really close by hit this place up.

I cannot say enough good things about Rain City Hot Dogs. They catered for our daughter's birthday party this past weekend and did a phenomenal job. Chad worked with us to finalize all details beforehand, showed up on time, and served amazing hot dogs! My guests ranted and raved about how good the hot dogs were (Jamaican Dog and PB&J were favorites). The museum staff where the party was hosted also commented about how nice Chad was and that he was very easy to work with. I highly recommend Rain City Hot Dogs to anyone looking to cater for a casual event.

At Sub Pop 30 festival and after waiting 40 minutes in line for a hot dog I was next in line when they announced there were no more dogs left. There was no warning that they were low. Thanks for wasting my time and I would not hire these guys for an event until they can learn to manage resources and expectations better.

Awesome hot dogs. Very dog on the menu is great, and the PB&J is to die for. Just wish they would stay open a bit later. No dogs after 6pm

The most amazing hotdogs!!! The guy at the Lowe's in Smokey Point was totally awesome!!! If you get a chance don't pass up one of their dogs.

Stopped by here to get my Seattle dog fix last week but left a bit disappointed. My hot dog was burnt so it kinda killed the flavor and it took a lot longer than I've ever waited for a hot dog as well. The condiments were not refilled but the young gentlemen that was working by himself was friendly. Overall I left with my craving not being satisfied.

Chad is just the nicest guy ever. He's always smiling And has a fantastic attitude about life. I work next to him and get to see him a lot. His hot dogs are amazing and he's always coming up with fun new recipes. Best hot dogs!!!!

I worked with Chad at one of my work events and he was wonderful to work with - always smiling! The hot dogs are delicious and come with many great topping options. He gives all of his tips to charity - can't get better than that. I am gluten-free and my bun-less Seattle dog was cooked to perfection. Great experience, great community feel and great hot dogs!
