The Rain Room offers an experience that is unique and interesting. More a form of interactive entertainment than an art installation, it offers a differentiated experience that is worth a try. The tickets are somewhat dear. If you have a day out in St Kilda, it is worth a visit to the Rain Room to make the day a little different.

Great experience. Something different to do. We were 2 mins late for our session and the group had already gone in so I recommend getting there a little earlier. Luckily they could fit us into the next session which was great!

Fantastic experience Loved the sensory intensity of the rain and then being able to walk through it nearly untouched. Important to know what you are getting yourself into before you attend - while it’s an ‘art installation’ it’s not a typical art gallery with paintings as some had expected. It’s 15 minutes of playing and interacting in this sensory experience of rain. The staff are very friendly and explain what to expect and the best ways to take photos if that’s your thing.

As much as The Rain Room is an interesting art exhibition, the balance, in my opinion, is shifting more on the cons side than the pros. Pros: enjoyable sensory experience with a very nice layout, falling water that pauses wherever a body is detected, with a soothing sound. Even if you get a little wet, it’s very relaxing. Kids friendly. The crew is very nice and attentive. Cons: 15min is incontestably too short for the price. There’s nothing else to do, which is almost frustrating! It would have been more enjoyable if the experience was longer and having more interaction. If the installation took place in a museum where you can spend more time exploring would have been better. Also maybe having a red light on, to signal the end would be less annoying for the crew who have to wiggle their arms to catch people’s attention. Now I still recommend it, just make sure you’re not planning the whole day around it especially if you have kids.

I took my 13-year-old daughter, who thoroughly enjoyed it. I wouldn't recommend taking younger children here only because you can't run around in the room. It's activated by motion detection sensor's for the rain, so your movements have to be quite slow, or you will get drenched. They have 12 people a time in the room & duration is 15min.

Absolutely Loved it! It's a great experience, definitely something different. Everyone should experience this at least once. However, the session is very short so make sure you get straight into the experience once you enter. Arrive early as parking is extremely difficult and you need to arrive at the rain room 10 minutes prior to your designated start time.

I was confused about the fuss. However, going there, it was amazing. It is actually raining. However, you move slow, and you don't get wet at all. We were trying to work out how it was done. They said sensors but no clue. If you get a chance go you won't be disappointed.

This was all amazing experience where it's raining but you don't get wet (unless you move too quickly or others around you do ;p). Our guide was very thorough with his instructions and it helped us get the maximum out of the 15 min experience. Would love it to be longer. Must visit on your next trip to Melbourne and even for locals. It's definitely one of the highlights of my Melbourne trip.
