Raise the Root Organic Market

I just had the best mandarine orange of my life from here! They source great seasonal fruit and veg, shop is always so clean and staff so friendly. The day when this photo was taken they were giving away chocolate chip cookies and apples for (I think) their 10th birthday! Also see cute winter bunny window decal.

Great boutique supermarket with all organic produce. Yes you read that right, ALL their produce is organic. They have a selection of just about anything you'd buy at a large grocer. It's my go-to for fresh produce and staples. Great staff and customer service too.

Incredible quality produce, great selection of pantry items, but what sets RROM apart is customer service. Thank you for always making my breakfast and grilled cheese dreams come true by carrying Blackbird.

Absolutely love this place. We’ve been coming here for 10years. They source directly from farmers so the food is always fresh. They only have in season products so you know it will be really good. A common misconception is the price will be higher vs a Loblaws. That couldn’t be more far fetched. Their prices are the same and in many cases found it to be cheaper. I’d strongly encourage anyone to go here, shop local. Prices are same and the produce is so much better. Thank you raise the root!

A few Friday nights ago, I had placed an order at Descendant Pizza. I had half an hour to kill. I decided to check the area out. I found Raise the Root Organic Market steps away. I love exploring a new grocery store, so I dropped by to check it out. There were so many fresh fruits and veggies at this place. The woman behind the counter immediately said hi. I reciprocated, intrigued by the fair-trade bananas from Ecuador and more. This store has a lot of vegan options. It also has gluten-free and keto items, but the vegan specialty items were prevalent. I loved seeing vegan meals in clear containers. I saw vegan marshmallows that aren't all that common. I was intrigued by the mushroom teas. I got one of the elixirs to try out. This place had coconut nog at a reduced price. I love the nog, except that it is super sweet. The price was right, though. You can get baking items and toothpaste here. I liked that the oral hygiene section was near the chocolate bars. Coincidence? I think not. I ended up getting a dark chocolate bar with coconut and skipped getting toothpaste. There was a bottle of The Good juice. It had celery, cucumber, and spinach in it. I liked the sound of that mix and got a bottle. I loved this store so much. I told the woman on staff that I loved shopping here. She was genuinely happy that I did. I paid with a debit card. All went well. I actually had my Yelp canvas bag with me that I got from Descendant. I used it to place all my goodies in it. Perfect! This market was a great find. I look forward to returning when I'm back in the area. The Good drink was indeed good! Same goes with the chocolate bar that I inhaled. (44)

The produce here is always so delicious and fresh. I love coming here every week to pick up a couple of things at a time, and to pick up my weekly Black Bird sourdough loaf. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgable about their products.

The ONLY thing, at this point, that I care about is whether the owners are abusive. Normal people are being abused in stores all the time now, by owners and staff and hired guards who are covid crazies. (Thanks though, for helping God to know who the goats are as he and his son sort the sheep from the goats.) If anything like what happened at the Big Carrot (reported on Rebel News) can happen here, I then have no reason to ditch the abusive Big Carrot. Very cute neighborhood store with lots of vegan specialty items. I popped in and got some snacks and fresh fruit as well as some marked down vegan prepared items that were sell by that day. Proprietor was for nice and very helpful. An impressive variety packed into a small space.

After stopping into Meat on Queen, saw this little organic produce shop. A wide variety of organic fruits and veggies and Sunshines Yolks Eggs which are organic, ecological and free range in the summer non gmo flax fed in winter with signature golden yolks, the sign of a good egg!

Loved everything about this place except I wish they had a better/wider array of veggies and fruits. They didn't have blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and a bunch of other fruits I was looking for. However, I understand it's a small store and the items that they did have were fresh and tasty. They also had samples of mango that were delicious! The staff was also very lovely so all in all I good experience!

This is a terrific little store with a good variety of produce and products. The items they stock are carefully sourced, and represent companies with strong ethics and great ethos. Additionally, anyone I've ever interacted with there has been really lovely and kind. Highly recommend.

Raise the Root has great prices, fresh produce, particularly delicious apples, and good vibes. We love the wide variety of nutritious options on offer - turmeric elixir anyone? Plus, jamming to the music while hatching plans for supper is super fun. All the folks behind the counter are helpful and lovely.

I go here to buy groceries for my son. Everything is reliable and tasty! The owner is amazing and honest which I truly appreciate!
