Raising Cane's is moving west. I live in Seattle and we are about a year away from launch. That said, I was in Portland this spring and wanted to pop in, but when I found it was a mall location, I passed.
Anticipation was high and I won't even try and candy coat, this was a massive disappointment. First there were about 20 cars in the drive thru. It's 2 lanes and I'd estimate 8-10 cars per lane. I was locked into this for about 45 minutes. You make one thing, you should always be serving that hot and fresh. Ironically, once I placed my order, I had it in hand in a couple minutes, but there was confusion. The girl that took my money, asked me several times what my name was. When I was collecting my food, the kids asked me several times what my name was. If you know the order in which someone pays, you should know which order you are handing out.
I won't lie, the chicken lived up, but the fries were soft and soggy and the lemonade was at least 1/3 ice. Did I really wait 45 minutes for limp, soggy fries, room temp chicken and watered down lemonade?
I'll close with this. I have read a few Raising Cane's review's and this was the first location that was below 4.5 stars, so clearly this owner has work to do when it comes to training, preparation and the customer experience.
When you only do one thing, you should truly be the best and this experience was regrettable!
