Highlights

This drive-thru fast-food spot is all about fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, but it might leave you craving more flavor.

"After eight months in operation, the Oakland location of fast food chain Raising Cane’s at 8430 Edgewater Drive will close its dining room and switch to a drive-thru-only format. The decision was made following car break-ins in the restaurant’s parking lot and robberies in the neighborhood." - Dianne de Guzman

I ordered the Box combo. I waited for 30 minutes around 4pm on a Thursday. The chicken tenders seemed like they weren't fried long enough cause the breading tasted off... the flavor was bland. The fries were ok but not warm. The Texas toast was probably my favorite. The Sweet tea was good. It was not overly sweet and just the right amount of ice. The cashier who gave me the food was sweet, great attitude and asked if I needed anything. Service was great but the food was just not great over all. The long wait for the food just wasn't worth ever going back.

Google
I could not go into the restaurant. it's drive thru only. I needed to use the bathroom and wanted some chicken while out working. This makes me so sad. The security guard referral was go to Chipotle or Subway good luck...

Google
I just don't get it. The chicken literally has no flavor at all. It looks like chicken, and it has the right texture, and it came out hot and fresh, but it just doesn't taste like anything. You have to dip it in sauce for any flavor, and the sauce K sauce is average at best. When I ran out of sauce after three strips and asked for another, they were going to charge me $0.35 unless I promised to leave a review. You guys better give away as much sauce as you can, cuz your chicken is as bland as a 3-pack of white t-shirts. Fries are good, but it's hard to screw up fried potatoes and salt, so that's pretty standard. Slaw is average. Texas toast is more like a buttered hot dog bun with no split in it, but was tasty. Lemonade was an upcharge so I thought it must be great - nope! Again, just satisfactory. I preferred the sweet tea. Service was great, staff seemed happy, friendly, and they were all working hard. Loved to see this! A welcome change from the misery that you get at almost any other fast food place with the exception of In-n-out. Atmosphere was nice, but very loud. Easy parking. Price seems fair. Would I go again, probably not.

Google
I was lucky to have a short drive through line. my bill was near 100.00 for the party pack five fries and bread. The bread was pretty decent , everything extremely disappointed more hype than good food. My drive time home was five minutes. Food was not as Crispy as fried chicken should be fries tasted really old I don’t recommend this Raising Can’s Chicken Fingers . However this could have been just a one time bad experience. Overall frozen fried chicken that you by from the store and place in the oven is better and super cheaper. I truly dislike overpriced bad food.

Google
very poor customer service. the girl taking my order was speaking so fast to confirm my order and would not slow down. we waited an hour to get a wrong order. When we got to the window, it was children dancing and playing around, not even working, hence the long 1 hour wait. Won’t be going back.

Google
This store has a fairly small menu which is not necessarily a bad thing, and it revolves around fried chicken. The indoor dining has been closed for some time now so all business is conducted at the drive through. Since fried chicken and fries usually need to be consumed hot and fresh, I guess you can park your car in the lot to eat. I think they can reduce the use of single use plastics - my extra sauce (which was in a container) came in a larger container.

Google
The lobby is closed, cashless drive thru only. The drive thru line was very long and waited around 30 minutes before i was able to order. My daughters chicken strips was much bigger than my pieces were. I wont be coming back to this location again.

Google
Delicious chicken! The coating is Light and Crispy. The fries could be better. And they put too much ice in the soft drinks at the drive thru.

Yelp
$$$$$ STRIP TEASE $$$$$ Tease me then Please me ! I always come for da food. I'm always pleasured and in need of a nap after this good meal. Canes serves their food hot, freshly dipped and fried nicely. The strips are juicy, plump and the crunch is on point. You have no worries, no dried out, overly breaded and bad tasting or stale strips. CANES is the blue print they do it right. Eerrrrtyme ! Pull up ! Pull up ! Pull up ! Drive thru orders only the inside dining area is closed and has been closed for a long time due to high crime area. Don't be scccccurrrred the drive up line moves quickly , grab your food and go. You can find a safe place to dine in your car and enjoy your food while it's HOT FRESHLY DIPPED and FRIED. PRICE: inexpensive STRIPS: YUMMMMMMMMMM SEASON: lightly AREA: BE CAUTIOUS DRIVE THRU: fast but has long lines SERVICE: everyone is friendly PAYMENT: CARDS ONLY NO CASH HIGHLIGHT: I love the pebble ice side note: it took me a long time to appreciate their food now I crave it !

Yelp
We went to get food from this location, when going through the line the set up of the drive thru is narrow. We have a big f 150 truck and it was hard to turn into the lane we had to back up a couple of time to turn into the drive thru lane. Other had to as well. We ended up scraping our car, we asked for the manager and he told us U-Haul truck have done it. Then said if we continue to be disrespectful we would have to get out of line. He argued with us, got smart, and threated not to serve us. We will be sending video of how the lanes are set up.

Justin C.

Yelp
Drive thru only location. Be prepared to wait 20+ minutes. Very friendly service and drive thru speaker sounds was good. Overall a mediocre visit, the quantity of fries with the 3 finger combo were about half as many as normal and not very warm. The 3 chicken fingers were considerably smaller than all other locations I have been but of course they charge you the same price $12.30. Tip: Happy they give 10% Hero discount for Veteran/Military.

Constance M.

Yelp
I was going to give this place a lower rating do to the hoops you have to jump through to get your food and the long line but I understand. It's for everyone's safety. The food was fresh. I can understand why there is a long line if you are into fast food and chicken tenders this is the place for you. I cannot see myself going back anytime soon because I need something a little more satisfying if I'm going to do fast food. The sauce is nice the chicken is not seasoned and it should not be because the sauce is very seasoned. You can't eat inside and it's one way in to the drive thru and one way out. It's really unfortunate you can't sit down and enjoy a meal.

Adrienne H.

Yelp
Ive been here a couple of times since they opened it. The line is always long. Currently the inside is closed so that could partly be why. Make sure you are willing to wait because once you are in the line there is no turning back. I waited over 40 minutes. I ordered the canes finger combo. everything was fresh except my bread.

Kev V.

Yelp
Look, I get it -- I was cutting it too close for closing time. But let's be real, there were still plenty of people at the drive-thru, so it's not like I was the only one trying to grab food before closing. I haven't had Raising Cane's in months since I'm rarely in the area, so I was really looking forward to it. First time at this location, first time doing the drive-thru. I could tell y'all were rushing to wrap up for the night, but that's no excuse to skip the essentials. I can't fully enjoy my order without ketchup and Louisiana Hot Sauce -- simple as that. And yet, here I am, eating dry-ass Cane's because someone decided to cut corners at the finish line. Sure, there's the Cane sauce and the extra honey mustardt I always get but it doesn't hit different if you don't get the full experience, lol. Yes, the food was great. But customer service shouldn't go out the window just because you're trying to clock out. If anything, the long line behind me proves that. Anyway, disappointed but not surprised. It is Oakland, after all.

Connie M.

Yelp
I get the hype now! We were in the area around 4pm and decided to stick it out and see if we could get lucky in line for Raising Canes. I had heard this place always has lines and they weren't wrong. The drive through is long but the fact they could make fried chicken for that volume for a drive through is crazy and skillful. Expect to wait in line at minimum of 30-1hour. Ended up getting the boxed meal with four tenders, a toast, fries, coleslaw, and a drink. It comes with one sauce so you definitely want to get extra sauce. Chicken was crunchy but moist. The tenders weren't huge so you could get the box set and save leftovers. Menu is small so not overwhelming and you get a lot of bang for your buck for around $14-$15 a meal, with more food than most other fast food places.

Billy L.

Yelp
I don't get the hype of Raising Cane's. There is nothing special about the chicken or its flavor. It tastes like chicken tenders you can buy frozen. There's nothing special either about their fries and toast. They also taste like frozen fries and frozen Texas toast. They include a sauce that tastes like thick Thousand Island dressing. This location is drive-thru only because of the crime in Oakland. Won't be coming here again.

Jill P.

Yelp
The best advice if you're going to eat here, order ahead. The new location in Daly City is packed most of the time if not all of the time. I always get the chicken strip combo meal and chicken sandwich. Make sure to CHECK your items because they forgot to include the fries! The staff is fairly reasonable and helpful. Just order ahead and ensure all items are there.

Juliet T.

Yelp
Ordered the Caniac Combo, which came with 6 Chicken Fingers, fries, Cane's Sauce, toast, coleslaw, and a large drink. This was pretty filling and good to share with another person. Nothing bad about the food, but mainly the location of this place. Probably not the best idea to visit at night after a concert/event... Lots of armed security inside and out of this location- it's recommended to keep your windows up unless you're ordering or getting your food at the window. The drive through is gated so once you're in line, you're stuck in line! It'll take about an hour to get through the line and get your food as well.

Adam A.

Yelp
It says that the dining is open until 1 AM but I went at 11 PM and they wouldn't let me in and I walked and they wouldn't let me walk through the drive-through either. Not sure why it's that difficult to have updated information on time.

Latrese P.

Yelp
I ordered the 3 finger meal which comes with fries, toast, and a drink. They don't offer BBQ sauce, but they have their own Cane Sauce (didn't try it). The chicken fingers could use a little seasoning, the fries were good, but got cold quick, and the Texas Toast is the bomb. Bread is my weakness. I could go there just for the toast. The dining area isn't open ONLY the drive thru. The employees aren't outside taking orders anymore. So it takes a little longer. They have two lanes, but it merges into one after you place your order. They are cashless, so be sure you have your debit/credit card. I'm not sure if they use the tap n pay through your phones wallet. The area is foul. The main street that they're on (Hegenberger Rd) is notorious for car break ins, so don't go if you're coming from or going to the Oakland Airport with luggage in your car.

Dafa Z.

Yelp
Wow, such a terribly unprofessional establishment with such a poorly organized drive thru. Could they not come up with a more efficient way to make and take orders? You will be disappointed after waiting for one hour+ in a jam packed lines fora prepackaged and "ready to go" meal. This is obvious because of how quick they give your order after taking it. Also, the toast is not crispy, it's soggy and the fries and chicken are not piping hot. The way the food is served makes a big difference. Step up your game Canes!

Calvin G.

Yelp
I came to Cane's visiting family. We were at the drive through at 12:30 on Monday we got our order at 12:45 around a 15 min wait. They only have a drive through it seemed like the inside seating was closed. We just ate in the car near the parking lot. I been to the other Cane's in Southern California and the service for this one is a tad slower than others. I got the caniac combo(19.99) with the coleslaw replaced with another bread both sides toasted. I love their sauce and the tenders were super juicy and tasty. My main observation was the chicken tenders seem to be smaller now compared to before. However the taste was the same very juicy chicken tenders and delicious. Decent place to stop by for a quick lunch or dinner!

Nathalie D.

Yelp
Drive-thru is a nightmare. The evening we arrived to Oakland and decided on Raising Cane's the dine in was closed off and only drive-thru was available. We waited nearly 20 minutes to place an order. They didn't have any Dr Pepper and the food was cold. Why even have a Cane's in this neighborhood.

Artesia D.

Yelp
I have been eating Raising Cane in the south for 10 years or more so I was excited when it came to California. The food is good, tasty, hot and yummy. I love the rolls and the Raising Cane Sauce. When. I visit the south Louisiana to be exact, it is always my must eat there at least once go to spot. I hate that crime has closed the sit down eating area of my local spot, but it is always clean and enjoyable. The service is so hospitable, reminds me of the southern hospitality style. Great choice to eat! And how could I forget the sweet tea, just like my grandmother and aunts made.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I love the fried chicken sandwich. It's super crispy and the chicken is very moist. The service is also good. It's very fast and the employees are nice. The parking lot is very crowded especially the drive through line. It's good to have a dine in but they only do drive through. Overall, I love this place. Hopefully it will open in South San Jose so I don't have to drive so far. The place is vibing.

Josh K.

Yelp
Cane's sauce will have me talking for the next week. Their chicken is alright, love their toast but their sauce takes it up so many levels. My life would be complete with a lifetime supply hahaha

Gerard Y.

Yelp
It's so nice seeing a location open in the Bay Area. This used to be one of the fast food places I enjoyed going to when I was in Texas for a little bit. The chicken tenders were good but a little smaller in size than I remembered and the texas toast could've been a little more evenly buttered. Just be aware that only the drive-thru is open here and cashless due to the sketchy location. The wait in line wasn't too long for lunchtime during a week day.

Trish T.

Yelp
I love Raising Canes! The sauce the juicy chicken and coleslaw! The customer service is great! I love the atmosphere I always crave it! 10/10 would totally recommend!

Richard B.

Yelp
Wait in drive-thru was about a half hour-too long for "fast food" The food was awful

Rick P.

Yelp
For what they do, it's a five! They do chicken fingers! Dozens of people line up to 50 deep, to get these fingers and special Cane's sauce. Tonight is a special night. Yep, it is. And to celebrate it, we are eating in the car. It all good. We like to keep things simple these days. Canes keeps it simple. We love Raising Cane's

Jordan D.

Yelp
After a tiring concert me and my friends decided to drive to Canes to get a late night meal. I placed an order for the Caniac meal, which includes bread, fries, six tenders, and a beverage. Although they don't sell barbecue sauce, they do have the best cane sauce on hand. The Texas Toast is amazing, the fries were decent but quickly became cold, and the chicken fingers could use some flavor. My weakness is bread. Only the bread would tempt me to visit. Only the drive-through is operational; the dining section is closed. No longer are the staff members outside collecting orders. Thus, it requires a bit more time. After you put your order, the two lanes combine into one. I think on a Friday night at around 11 PM it took us almost 2 hours to get our food. The line moved very slow. Make sure you have your debit or credit card with you as they accept no cash. I'm not sure if they make use of your phone's wallet for tap and pay. The place smells bad. If you're heading to or from the Oakland Airport with luggage in your car, avoid going down Hegenberger Road, the main thoroughfare where they are located, as it is known for experiencing auto burglaries.

Yelp
I recently visited Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers at 8430 Edgewater Dr, Oakland, CA, and it was definitely not worth the trip. We went on the weekend, only to find out from the security guard that the restaurant is drive-thru only--no walk-ins allowed. The area felt unsafe, with several nearby businesses closed down due to crime concerns. We had a coupon for free food from an event, which was the only reason we decided to give this location a try. Unfortunately, the drive-thru line was a nightmare; it took over an hour just to get our food. The wait was ridiculously long, and the overall experience was terrible. This location feels unsafe and is surrounded by crime, making it not worth the risk. We won't be returning to this location, though we might consider visiting another Raising Cane's in the future. I do not recommend this place to anyone--your safety is far more important.

Gary T.

Yelp
Service was fine but the portions were significantly smaller than other Canes that I've been to (Arizona, Roseville). The food itself tasted fine. Paying the same for smaller sizes. Don't plan on returning because of this.

Winnie T.

Yelp
Food: The chicken tender is soft and not too dry. The cane sauce is a big hit as well as the toast. Services: They only do drive thru and online pick up, NO dine-in. I would recommend doing online order pick up ahead of time to avoid the long wait in the line since they are usually busy. Once you're at the second window, the food is often ready pretty fast. - This location opened not too long ago so the store looks nice ( at least from the outside) Customer Service: Excellent We had a big order and they missed one of our items in the order (a Caniac combo) but we went back the next day and they gave us an extra complimentary combo for our trouble. We were talking on the phone with John I believe and he was able to get us straightened out with ease and efficiency. Thank you guys so much for the excellent service

Jelani T.

Yelp
HORRIBLE drive-through service at night! They're trying to be like Chick-fil-A and it ain't working. I waited 20 minutes to get my order while everyone else in the drive-through behind us got their food first. Why? Because I opted to pay for my food at the window. So if you're a first timer, pay when you order. What I have problem with is, why give me an option (to pay at the window) if that option doesn't work? Will be glad when In-and-Out opens next door to them. They know how to work a drive through and maybe Canes can learn a thing or two from them. 2 stars only because the food was decent. Would be 3 stars but they forgot the ketchup that I asked twice for.

Trisha L.

Yelp
I have to say I was excited to hear a Raising Cane's opening in the Bay Area when the news was out. It took me until this past weekend to actually go. Keep in mind that there is NO DINE IN - this is ONLY DRIVE THRU. There have been people breaking into cars prior, which made this location drive thru only. This location is by tons of restaurants in Oakland and fairly close to the Coliseum. There are two lines for the drive thru & only two workers taking orders. I'd recommend going into the first lane on the left which goes by a lot faster. It took roughly 25-30+ minutes to get closer to the front and maybe another 10-15 to get our food. Make sure you know exactly what you want - you can't make any changes after your order is being made. Long story short: everything tasted exactly how I remembered it to be! The sauce is the absolute best with the chicken, fries and Texas toast. The only feedback I have is that the chicken is pretty skimpy and the fries are a bit soggy after some time. I'd eat it right away or take it back home to air fry tbh. I'm rounding m review up to 4 stars, but definitely a 3.5 for me since the drive thru takes so long. Def wished there was a dine in option, but I get why it's not.

Yelp
I've been a loyal fan of Cane's for years. Having lived in Arizona, I used to enjoy it regularly, so when I saw there was a Cane's within a 10-minute walk from my hotel in Oakland, I was beyond excited. I walked over, craving that familiar taste, only to be incredibly disappointed when I got there. Despite having a fully built lobby and patio, I was informed by an employee that they don't offer lobby or patio dining. Instead, they only take orders through the drive-thru. The problem? I was on foot. No car. So I was told I couldn't order. What's the point of having a lobby and patio if they're not used? I've never experienced this at any Cane's location, not even during the height of COVID. Back then, at least you could still go inside to order takeout. But at this location--no lobby orders, no exceptions. They simply refuse to take any orders inside. This is ridiculous! As a die-hard Cane's fan, this was the most disappointing experience I've had with the chain. If you're going to build a lobby and patio, how about using them? Or at the very least, offer an option for customers who aren't in vehicles. I left frustrated, empty-handed, and completely baffled by this nonsensical business practice. One more thing: Cane's corporate, save the canned copy-paste response. I've seen how you've responded to other complaints about this location, and they all lack sincerity or true care for the customer's experience.

Jay R.

Yelp
I love their sauce and I love their sweet tea. If you don't like ketchup, you won't like this sauce. The chicken is just chicken. For me, nothing special. The sauce makes it worth it for me though. Drive thru is shortest when they open. If you decide the drive thru line is worth it: after getting your food put some napkins in the container to absorb the condensation. You'll thank me later, when your chicken isn't soggy. Ambiance is casual.

Austin W.

Yelp
I've never been to a Raising Cane's before in my life and my visit at the Oakland location will certainly be my last. My experience here is easily one of my top 5 worst fast food experiences to date. To start, the location of this Raising Cane's is dangerous. Seriously. The dining room of the restaurant is closed for employee safety and to discourage diners from leaving their cars in the parking lot where there is a 99% chance it will get broken in to. Because of how much crime in this area, many of the other stores in this plaza have been boarded up and closed. I would encourage you to get your food and drive away, as dining in the parking lot is a safety issue as well. If you read around, there are reports of cars getting broken in to and/or robbed at gunpoint with the owners still occupying the vehicle. Next, the ordering process is very poorly executed. I feel terrible for the poor employees here that are forced to inhale exhaust fumes of cars for hours at a time as they take your order on a mobile device. Unlike In-N-Out where the ordering process is well-streamlined, the one here feels very clunky. For one reason or another, despite only have chicken fingers on the menu, it takes forever for each car to place their order. Maybe it's poor employee training, maybe it's bad menu design, maybe it's an unintuitive ordering system; I'm not sure. However, the end result is a terrible experience for guests. From start-to-finish, I was in the parking lot for around an hour. Lastly, the food itself is bad. Definitely not worth the price you pay. The chicken is not only flavorless but it's also both dry on the inside and soggy on the outside. I can't believe I've found an establishment that makes worse fries than In-N-Out as well. Mind-blowing. It pains me to toss out a plate of uneaten food but the food here was just that bad that I could not bring myself to finish it. Avoid visiting this Raising Cane's location. Spend your calories, time, and hard-earned money elsewhere.

Rust C.

Yelp
Cannot walk into the restaurant. No dine in. Only drive thru where the line took us 45 mins. Once in line you are trapped and can't get out. Employees cars are fenced in with armed guards outside. What tf happened to Oakland and this fried chicken joint ?

Vivian T.

Yelp
First time ordering at this location, and boy do you have to wait forever to order. This is due to the fact that it is drive thru only, and card only. First time I came, didn't realize it was card only and waited in line just to leave the place. Ordered a meal for my friend and I, overall the food was okay. The fries were a little soggy, but the bread was good. Always excited for the bread. They only have their Cane's sauce; so if you want any other sauce, you gotta go somewhere else to get you some. Can't go inside the place, so I can't tell you how the inside looks lol. I'm excited for the Hayward location to open; not sure if I'll be coming back to this one once the new location opens. If you haven't Raising Cane's yet, give it a try; 3 out of 5 for me for this place because of the long wait in drive thru and it will be a hit or miss for the food.

Clayton J.

Yelp
Raising Cane's is moving west. I live in Seattle and we are about a year away from launch. That said, I was in Portland this spring and wanted to pop in, but when I found it was a mall location, I passed. Anticipation was high and I won't even try and candy coat, this was a massive disappointment. First there were about 20 cars in the drive thru. It's 2 lanes and I'd estimate 8-10 cars per lane. I was locked into this for about 45 minutes. You make one thing, you should always be serving that hot and fresh. Ironically, once I placed my order, I had it in hand in a couple minutes, but there was confusion. The girl that took my money, asked me several times what my name was. When I was collecting my food, the kids asked me several times what my name was. If you know the order in which someone pays, you should know which order you are handing out. I won't lie, the chicken lived up, but the fries were soft and soggy and the lemonade was at least 1/3 ice. Did I really wait 45 minutes for limp, soggy fries, room temp chicken and watered down lemonade? I'll close with this. I have read a few Raising Cane's review's and this was the first location that was below 4.5 stars, so clearly this owner has work to do when it comes to training, preparation and the customer experience. When you only do one thing, you should truly be the best and this experience was regrettable!

Madeleine Y.

Yelp
Been to multiple Raising Cane's and this one was pretty good. It was my Dad's first time trying and we did takeout. The chicken was good but a little bit on the dry side. The texas toast was super good though and the fries were pretty normal (nothing special). The service was okay and the wait was around 20 minutes but it was busy so understandable. Overall, pretty good but not the best canes that I've had!

Robin S.

Yelp
Food Luke warm, sigh. Chicken and fries awful. Only thing good was the drink. Second time I have been disappointed with this location.

Jasmine S.

Yelp
My daughter wanted to come here because it was trendy on her TikTok. We finally had some time to drive out to Oakland and try out the spot. We were highly disappointed when we realized that it was drive-through only. This is due to crimes of car break-ins in the parking lot, I was told. What a shame because the inside looked so awesome on the reviews. The food itself was fine. The fries were hot and crispy, although very very salty (and I like my salt!). The chicken strips were good, crispy and moist although not much flavor. The famous sauce was so so. My daughter and I decided it tasted sort of like ketchup mix with mayonnaise and a little pepper. The sweet tea was so very very sweet!!! I almost couldn't drink it. Overall, it was fine but not really worth the drive or the 40 minute wait in the drive-through line (on a Monday).

Hayley P.

Yelp
Yall skimpy with the chicken tenders. I ordered a three piece and I got two and they're small as hell. I DRIVE SO FAR ALONE CUZ NONE OF MY FRIENDS WERE DOWN TO COME HERE AND I FEEL LIKE MY ORDER COULD Have BEEN FULLFILLED MORE. The fries were decent I guess 7.6/10 except the chicken. R.I.P third chicken tender you were a real friend and were suppose to help me thru my hunger.

Sarah A.

Yelp
PSA: This is NOT fast food. Be prepared to wait a super long time for some super fresh hot crispy battered chicken fingers with slightly-better-than-ketchup sauce. The consistent freshness cannot be beat (unless you get lucky with a fresh batch) at other fast food chicken joints. So the wait might be worth it on occasion if you have nowhere to be. I wish their seasoning game was stronger so I didn't feel the need to dip as often since ketchup isn't my thing, but given the popularity of this place, I'm in the minority. Give it a try if you are thinking about it!

Yelp
Man stall better come strapped ordering y'all Food over here. Literally I think it's a bad location and will get shutdown just like In-N-Out. Respectfully. The food was not him. I say, Rather go to Quik bites in downtown Oakland and get some chicken and fries special.

Yelp
This is the first Raising Cane's in the Bay Area and I finally got to try their food. I live 36 miles away, so I finally was in the area. First off, they don't accept cash, only credit/debit cards. Also, their indoor dining room was closed and the drive-thru was the only option. It could be for security reasons because I noticed they had an area enclosed by a high cyclone fence where I assume the employees park while they work without having to worry if someone may break into them...the same way the now closed In n' Out would have their cars broken into during the daytime. I ordered the Cainiac combo which came with 6 chicken tenders, crinkle fries, Texas toast, 2 sauces, and 1 coleslaw. The total was around $22 and change after tax. I couldn't eat there in their outdoor seating area and had to wait till I drove back home to eat. The tenders were really good and still a little crunchy even though the fries weren't by then. I see what they mean when they say it is the sauce that makes the tenders taste good. I will have the remaining 3 tenders and fries for lunch. I'm not a fan of coleslaw, so I might try it with ranch dressing. I'm not sure if I'd drive here again to try them against ulness I'm in the area.

Yelp
My New Jersey family needed to try the chicken. Personally I wouldn't have driven 45 mins each way and waited almost an hour in line but having tried the chicken, I agree it was quite delicious! I wish/hope the indoor dining will open up. I have a feeling it would've been better if I didn't have to drive 45 mins home before eating them.

Yelp
Finally got around to trying Raising Canes for my first time since everyone has been talking about it, I ordered their chicken sandwich with fries then my husband just ordered their chicken fingers with fries and a piece of toast. First of all, their drive thru is such a sht show to navigate and everyone was confused. The food was honestly just alright. It wasn't the best but it also wasn't the worst. Chicken was crispy, fries were cold, their toast just had some flavor but overall, it's not much to write home about unfortunately. The people working at this location were fun and funny and got our order right but I don't know that I would ever come back due to the lack of flavor.

Yelp
Finally had a chance today to visit without the normal one hour wait. Any given day there is a line that goes all the way through the parking lot 3/4 of the way to In N Out - at least that is what I saw since opening - especially on the weekends. Many people wait an hour for this - so is it worth it? Had the sandwich combo with fries and then added coleslaw and Texas toast just to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. I ate my food 30 minutes after getting it and the chicken sandwich was still very good. Crispy chicken strips were the most memorable part. How can it still be crispy if it was made 30 minutes ago and in a container that traps steam? I was impressed with the sandwich especially given the price. The sauce was tasty as was the bun and I liked how it was put together. This has the same value oriented nature of In N Out - only its chicken instead of beef. Sides were very very inexpensive to add on and all the people working at the drive through were friendly and quick workers. Since the dining room isn't open I would recommend getting a sandwich without the fries. Old fries are never good - and this is no exception. For an extra dollar grab the toast and coleslaw. I look forward to seeing the dining room one day - I heard they all have disco balls. I don't blame them for not having it open - Oakland can be like the wild west. Its good to support a business attempting to be a part of this community. Lets hope they stay.

Yelp
The chicken fingers are way too overpriced, and they're small. Also, the fries they give you are often small scraps and they're tiny. The chicken taste good, but I couldn't help but say to myself right away that it's a rip off. For $20 you should be getting way more food.

Yelp
Line was crazy and took so long. Drive thru only here I guess because of this location being in such a bad area.

Yelp
The guy at the window taking cards is a douchebag. He mumbled every word and then got upset because I asked him what he said. He barely put the card reader out of the window and I couldn't reach it with my phone but he refused to hold it out more and then told me I was doing it wrong. This is the second interaction I've had with him and he was a dick both times.

Yelp
East Oakland location specifics: 1) Does NOT accept cash. Credit/Debit only. 2) Drive-thru only; No walk-in. 3) If the drive-thru lines are at the 'chain-link fence', expect to wait about 30-45 minutes to order. Then you have to wait for your food... (I had plenty of time to write this review...I haven't even ordered yet!) If you value your time or have somewhere to be, reconsider purchasing food at this location. The same time it took to sit in the long drive-thru line to order, pay and pick up our food, you might be able to drive to another location, eat your food, and have time for a fun activity after! Caution: This location is "NOT" fast. The cashier looks and sounds like he is either having a really bad day or just hates his job.

Yelp
I heard many people rave about this place, and was curious to see what's the deal, so I went after work. I went inside and ordered a box combo & a sandwich combo, and it took about 30 min for my food to arrived. It smelled good, but tbh the taste was not there. The chicken tenders were really dry after eating a few bites, and it had no flavor at all. The fries were crinkle cut style which I typically never get, but they had no saltiness flavor at all - just potato. The sauce and the coleslaw was mediocre. The toast was not bad. The sandwich combo was pretty much the same thing - tenders in a burger instead of a patty with fries. The only good thing is that it had lettuce so it wasn't dry to eat. I wish it offers some pickles to refresh your mouth from all that dryness.
