"Raiz — an all-day neighborhood cafe serving Mexican food with Pacific Northwest flavors — has arrived on NW 65th Street. The cozy spot is from rising chef Ricardo Valdes and his friend Kenny Villegas, who have been running the taco stand El Xolo inside Capitol Hill bar Nacho Borracho since the spring. Biscuits with chorizo grazy, chilaquiles, requeson cheese pancakes with guava butter, and an assortment of sandwiches and toast are some of the menu highlights." - Megan Hill

Great small spot with friendly and attentive staff. Overall the food was delicious. Crispy pork was great with the tortillas and pork fat, prawn tostada had a nice spicy kick to it.

Overall food is ok but with very reasonable price. Service is great. Date banana bread is super good. Crispy outside and moist inside. Very close to what I had in Texas. Their rice are like overnight fried rice, so it’s crispy. They put this kind of rice in the burrito. I like the burrito to be more moist but this is too dry for me.

Raiz is the all-day Mexican go-to that Ballard has been waiting for. The interior is open and inviting with a clear view of the food being prepped and welcoming staff preparing amazing dishes. I could not praise this restaurant enough. The team behind this establishment have truly outdone themselves.

I stopped by here for takeout lunch because I was starving. A very limited menu posted on the window so I ordered the Californian which is supposed to include braised pork, avocado, rice, cilantro and fries. What I got was a couple of bits of bland pork, maybe half a leaf of cilantro, then loads of rice and fries. No avocado whatsoever. Very disappointing food and I'm still hungry now! 🤬

BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO EVER!!! I would give it 10 stars if it would let me. I drove all the way from Burien to get this burrito and I'll tell you it was DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful too. I will be making this my new favorite place to get my breakfast burritos from from now on. The 805 approves *** I DEVOURED half the burrito on my way home so this is the best picture I could get.

I love how much these guys care about their food. You can taste the effort they food into their dishes. You can’t go wrong with anything you order. This restaurant is excellent, and the staff is wonderful!

The Chicken Chilaquiles are to die for. The Salsa Roja is some of the best I’ve ever had. The coffee tastes like heaven. The owner/chef is charming and the ambiance is very chill. Would definitely recommend. Best breakfast I’ve had in Seattle.

Folks have been known to travel great distances and endure untold hardship for the simple pleasure of experiencing the magnificence that is a Raiz breakfast burrito. The coffee and beverages are also excellent paling in comparison only to the exceptional service and welcoming attitude of the proprietor and his spatula wielding chef.
