Rake Wine Bar

I really appreciated the attention to detail and the support that was provided from the moment I stepped into the establishment. I felt like this was a place that I could enjoy some natural wine in peace and have a positive conversation with those around me specifically a bartender named Lindsay. Everyone calls her Linz but she by far stood out as someone that I really trusted and was grateful to spend time with because of how much she cares about people and she cares about the work that she does Make sure to pop by it’s worth it!

Cute little wine bar with a very original selection of wines. The accompanying bites are really delicious and make you a whole dinner if you wish to. Nice staff, diligent and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable.

This wine bar is AMAZING! Such a great selection of wines, beers and light fare food. I highly recommend getting the wine flight with a meat & cheese board. The bread with cheese in oil was also very tasty. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The space is clean & comfortable with a view into Urban Wine & Spirits. They also have outdoor seating which is nice when the weather is warm. I will be a regular here for sure.

A quaint spot perfect for a drinking and conversing. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, service was fast, and adequate pricing for the quality. We ordered the Bruschetta, it was fresh and tasty. We both ordered the wine flight and enjoyed our servers story behind each wine. They had a large menu of diverse wines and small plates. Definitely will be going back.

Finally made it to this neighborhood wine bar and I'm so glad I did. I will most definitely make this a regular hang out. Bartender/manager (owner?) was super friendly, informative and all around welcoming, not to mention the wine selection looks top notch.

I'm really surprised that this place doesn't have more reviews, as it is really a nice option for a wine bar in the area. The vibe is on point for what you'd want here. It is connected to a wine store and they really do seem to pay attention overall to the theme (especially in the bathroom with their decor/plants, which is always a huge plus to me!). Their glass menu is reasonable/not overwhelming and fairly priced. I was a skosh disappointed that 2/3 of the chilled reds they did not have (especially since they're connected to a wine store...like why not just stock a different chilled red?). But the waitress was super nice and talked us through some other options and also bonded with us while we sat at the bar. They don't have a happy hour which would be a bit of a draw, but the prices overall again aren't so tough. We grabbed some bar seats right when they opened but I can imagine that the tables get a bit overwhelming given how close together/small they are.

I came here on a Wednesday night with my cousin around 6pm for drinks. There were plenty of tables outside and inside and we had no problem getting a seat. I had the tepache, which wasn't as sweet as I was expecting, but wasn't bad. We also ordered the baked burrata to share, which came with a huge slice of focaccia and basil-walnut pesto. The bread itself was delicious! I thought this was a really cute wine bar and it looks like they have a few happy hour deals from 5-7pm. I would definitely come back!

Wow East Village! You have yourself a gem with Rake Wine Bar! We were waiting for our dinner reservations and decided to stop in here for a pre-dinner drink and bite. I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

My partner and I were looking for a great double date spot, so we decided to give Rake a try due to its relaxing vibe and multitude of bites we could share. First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Cutest ambiance and delicious wine/bites. I'm so glad this place is by my apartment because I will be back (a lot). The highlight was our server- Aidan. He was so knowledgeable and helped us figure out what we wanted. His first recommendation was so good that we didn't even glance at the menu the rest of the night. Want straight off his recommendations. His friendliness and outstanding service set apart this adorable wine bar from others.

Stumbled into this tiny wine bar. It's so cute inside. Tried some wine and some apps. I loved the atmosphere.

If you're waiting for your reservation at Lucien, this is the perfect spot for a quick glass of wine or a destination to meet friends. The outdoor seating is cute with lots of foliage and overhead lights and on a quieter street off 1st Ave. If it's too hot to sit outside, the AC inside is quite nice as well. Tables and chairs were clean, which I always appreciate and bathroom was clean as well. Service was attentive and friendly.

Quaint but high quality wine bar. Tthis space is adjacent to a wine/liquor store next door. Very cool layout where a glass window separates the space - can take a peek into the wine store next door! We got the wine flights - $25 for 3 glasses (3oz pours). You can pick from any of the options on their well curated list: sparkling, whites, oranges, chilled reds, reds (Nebbiolo and Dessert Wines excluded from flights). The staff was very well-versed on the menu and was able to give great recommendations according to preferences. Happy and satisfied with our choices and had a wonderful time. Would definitely come back for a glass (or two)!

The vibes in here are magical. The cozy warm lighting paired with a glass of organic wine makes for a romantic evening or a great night catching up with your gal pals. Service was excellent and they were willing to help us find something we loved. Perfect spot for a glass or two in such a great environment.

Amazing happy hour wines at an excellent price point. The fig and Gorgonzola flatbread was so good. So was the Romeo and Juliet crostini. Very nice ambience as well.

Came in for a quick drink during happy hour. Love the atmosphere and quick service. Wine selection was extensive, though there were only three options for happy hour. Happy hour price also isn't a huge discount ($10 for a $12 glass). Would come back again for a couple drinks and might try the charcuterie board next time!

So much fun to find this hidden sidewalk gem full of unique wines by the glass to discover and the most friendly and efficient service! Love the sidewalk seating on a summer day. Thanks for coming to the neighborhood!

This place is so chill and the wine was so good! They have a goat cheese spread that is just divine. I highly recommend this place. It's so hard to find a chill spot with a dope vibe in Manhattan. Perfect for date night. ;0). Also a great place to sit at the bar by yourself without feeling awkward.

I love this place, the atmosphere is smooth and elegant, the bartenders are fun and professional connoisseurs, when it comes to wine. My best new place to go in lower Manhattan, I love it.

Loved this place so much. My friends and I visited Rake for pre-dinner drinks and wound up staying the whole night. Amazing wine, delicious tapas and great service. Ian was our sommelier and was very knowledgeable and guided us through all their natural wine. Dee the bartender was hilarious and such a light! this will definitely be our new wine spot in the neighborhood

Ian was great ! His recommendations were right on target and he was knowledgeable without being pretentious. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back.
