Rake’s Café Bar

Stopped by Rake’s Café Bar in London this morning for a quick coffee and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out better than I thought. I was just in need of a proper caffeine hit before getting on with stuff, but the place had this chill vibe that made me hang around a bit longer than I planned. It’s not fancy or trying to be “trendy” or anything, just a proper small café where you can actually relax. A few people were working on laptops, some were chatting quietly, and it didn’t feel loud or awkward at all. The staff were super chill too — not fake friendly, not rushing me, just normal people doing their job and actually nice about it. The coffee itself was actually really good. Hot, strong enough to wake me up, smooth, none of that bitter burnt stuff that annoys me. I could tell it wasn’t some random instant rubbish, it tasted proper, like someone knew what they were doing. I just sat there sipping it slowly, enjoying a proper calm moment in the middle of a hectic morning. All in all, Rake’s Café Bar was way better than I expected. Solid coffee, relaxed vibe, friendly staff, and I’d definitely swing by again next time I’m in the area.

Floor manager Alex looked after us really well! Wonderful design and ambience. Fantastic Irish coffees, whisky sour and mojito.

Beautiful venue with a relaxed vibe and a DJ. Very luxurious looking. The server was extremely attentive and polite. He gave us snack crackers to go with our free Whiskey Sours drinks (offer with an IG post). The foam on the drinks were thick and the drinks well made. Will definitely return.

We went for a joint 80th, 32nd & 18th birthday. The service was fantastic. The cocktails were really good. Food was delicious. Live DJ playing music. They went the extra mile with a little birthday treat.

Had a great time there yesterday at a Xmas party. Enjoyed the food, drinks and the venue but this 5 star is based in the team. The security guard, Abdi did a great job of introducing us and really started our night on a high. Was his first night working there! Legend!!! And shout out to Vishva Mandaliya. She was great. Kept our drinks and food topped up and was just a great vibe all night. Thank you.

More of an evening drinks venue than a lunch spot but fine for a business lunch. The waiters were prompt and personable, almost a bit too proactive at times. I felt the food took long to get ready even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. 4 Chilled vibe for lunch. Food was ok, portion sizes was adequate. The food felt clean, fresh, nutritious and not overly filling, although some of the dishes were hit and miss from feedback from the group (particularly the duck dish, the menu stated it was duck leg but was bits of shredded duck). The venue seems like a good place for a quiet spot for a Friday lunch. The decor is splendid and you can easily get lost navigating round the building. Each room is very different and I appreciate the effort and care taken towards the interior design. There are 2 other bars/restaurants in different sections of the building so you can vary up your trip when you arrive

Alex and the team at Rake's Café Bar were amazing and made my mom's 74th birthday magical. The metaphorical cherry on top of a wonderful day making memories in London!!

The food and the the drinks were top notch especially the bartender revlon some crazy skills And the waitress martyna was so friendly

Rake's is located inside the Andaz Liverpool St hotel. It is mostly known for the cocktails which were decent but I've had better for that price range (14 quid each). We also had dinner here since we were staying in and staying at the hotel. Food was not great. We had the braised short rib, bbq glaze with creamy truffle mash and stone bass & paella, mussels prawn & garlic aioli. The short rib was dry and I wouldn't call the paella a paella, it was honestly just mushy rice. We also got the Spanish ham and potato croquettes as an appetizer which was the best out of the food we ordered. We had one appetizer, two mains, and 4 cocktails and the bill came out to 115 quid. Also, service was a little hard to get so order your drinks if you have their attention!

Situation: Christmas Eve 2018 evening drinks - Great cocktail selection - The cocktails are tasty and worth the cost - The ambiance is nice (it's a bit on the darker side) - Near the Liverpool station - It can be tough to get a seat

Had a very good breakfast right after our arrivel to London. Beautiful place, you cannot even imagine what a lovely atmosphere it has from the inside. Avocado toast is a good choice, delicious!
