Stopped by Rake’s Café Bar in London this morning for a quick coffee and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out better than I thought. I was just in need of a proper caffeine hit before getting on with stuff, but the place had this chill vibe that made me hang around a bit longer than I planned.
It’s not fancy or trying to be “trendy” or anything, just a proper small café where you can actually relax. A few people were working on laptops, some were chatting quietly, and it didn’t feel loud or awkward at all. The staff were super chill too — not fake friendly, not rushing me, just normal people doing their job and actually nice about it.
The coffee itself was actually really good. Hot, strong enough to wake me up, smooth, none of that bitter burnt stuff that annoys me. I could tell it wasn’t some random instant rubbish, it tasted proper, like someone knew what they were doing. I just sat there sipping it slowly, enjoying a proper calm moment in the middle of a hectic morning.
All in all, Rake’s Café Bar was way better than I expected. Solid coffee, relaxed vibe, friendly staff, and I’d definitely swing by again next time I’m in the area.
