Raki Ba Raki

A local gem! We enjoyed our last dinner in Rethymno here tonight and we were absolutely delighted! We started with the mixed green salad with pomegranate seeds and two kinds of cheese - so light, fresh and flavourful! I had the shrimp on buckwheat and my hubby had the chicken and potatoes. Both dishes were subtly flavoured and really beautifully cooked and presented. Our server Anastasia was so lovely and engaging to talk to. She even got us the recipe for the salad dressing! Our gratis dessert was a whipped yogurt with candied bergamot on top. Such a wonderful unique flavour. Lots of gluten free options. A very affordable dinner at 38€. Highly recommended!

And if I could give 10 points, I would!!! Amazing food!!! The best I've eaten in the city so far. Waiters friendly and attentive. Beautifully decorated. For starters we had bread with olives and a tomato spread and for dessert raki and yogurt! We will definitely be back!

This huge place is very nicely decorated and had a great atmosphere. I enjoyed Greek specialties like the skordoulakoi bulbs and the Horta (with local vegetables I had never tasted before!). The vegetarians moussaka is also a must ! We enjoyed the food but less the drink imposed by the waitress (she served us right away without saying a word and charged us the bottle although we said we don’t want it 🤷🏻‍♀️). For this reason we decided not to order any other drink from the menu. Service is fast and efficient but could be more friendly. We felt not welcomed and treated like numbers (not customers) and that feeling prevents us from coming back to this place.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The lamb with yoghurt sauce was one of the best dishes I ever had. Also the cocktails were top! All that with a great atmoaphere and a very good service. O can't wait to go again.

We were truly amazed by this place!!! Great food (absolutely tasteful local dishes, all fresh and full of flavours), stunning atmosphere ( together with the other restaurant that belongs to the same owner called Avli are placed in a small street in the medieval part of the city), excellent service at very good prices!!! Strongly recommended!!

3rd meal at this restaurant and food is consistently fabulous. Quality of ingredients is excellent and all dishes we have had have been so tasty and balanced. I would never normally order fried mushrooms but in this restaurant they are just delicious. The boiled and grilled vegetables are exceptional too - the sauce on top is so spot on. Sausage dish and mackerel all great too. Lots of tables inside and out. Waiters helpful and know the dishes really well and knowledgeable about the wine list. Such a lovely dining experience.

Absolutely amazing! The food, the atmosphere, it is a must visit! Authentic Cretan food but with a little twist. The goat milk ice cream was heavenly!

Very nice atmosphere and also a very attentive and friendly service! As can be expected, the food was delicious. The collection of tastes in the main dishes (seafood pasta and the macrel) was nicely balanced, so it was a real pleasure. Even the sweets brought with the desert were good! The place was packed but we were able to get a table. The lively atmosphere added to the positive experience. I would definitely recommend visiting when you are in town!
