Raki Ba Raki

Enjoyed my dining experience at Raki Ba Raki. Beautiful restaurant setting with seating out on the street. Nicely decorated restaurant. Service was good ,our waiter was really lovely ! Quite a big menu with vegetarian options at meat. Our food was really good and I enjoyed it but wasn’t outstanding. Highlight was the fried potatos (amazing). Complimentary orange cake and traditional liquor at the end. Good drink selection and wine list. Nice play to go out for dinner.

We heard really good things about the restaurant and we were excited to try, but ended up pretty disappointed. We ordered « a puff pastry » with feta cheese, lemon, rose, and fig. However, it was three different pastries with fig, rose jam, and lemon jam. It wasn’t quite our taste. For main dishes, we ordered the lamb/pork burger and rigatoni with pesto and pork tenderloin. The burger was delicious, but the accompanied fries were a bit hard to eat. The pesto dish was quite oily and not as flavorful. We didn’t finish the dish. We were given complementary cake and raki which was nice and tasted great though. The servers were friendly and everything was given within a good time. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the rest of the food much.

For the first time in my life, I’ve felt emotions during my diner. Everything was PERFECT, including the service. Made with local products, the food makes me understand the worldwide reputation of the island.

This place was simply elegant with amazing offerings. So many choices and.amazing friendly staff that are there because they want to be. The beer on tap was delicious and the food outstanding. Thisnplace whether you inside or outside is a must of the old town

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic – traditional cuisine prepared with great care and attention to detail. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere and setting of the restaurant were simply magical – cozy, charming, and full of character. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience!

We visited this place by recommendation and from the first sight it was nice and cozy. The food was great and tasteful. But the service and entertainment were not welcoming and hospitable. We noticed that waiter was explaining the meze plate to the neighbours and we were guessing what is this and that. Also at some point there were 5+ waiters and it was rather hard to attract them when needed.

Found this place from other reviews. Managed to get one of last tables outside before they started given the tables to the Mexican place next door. Service was okay, felt a bit rushed. We shared dolmades, the feta (incredible) and the beetroot salad (also very very good). Glass of wine each. Fair price and good portion size. Nice to watch people go by. Brought out Raki and some dessert. Wasn’t a fan but a kind gesture. I would go back! Thanks

I was looking for an authentic Cretan restaurant and found Raki Ba Raki online. I honestly was more so aiming for the restaurant next to it (Avil) but tried this instead. I ordered a drink, a mocktail even, yet it took over 20 minutes and the table next to me who came after me already got her food. The drink was also 90% ice and took me 4 sips to finish, and it cost half the price of a main dish. I ordered a dip and this took another 15 minutes of which I tried to ask for an order of bread with it and took me time to track someone down and then get it delivered. I barely ever saw my server since I sat down. She didn’t come to check and there were other people who took my order and I presumed were helping. The other table next to me who got their appetizer after me got their food before me and it was the same order as mine so I am not sure why mine was taking longer. The server eventually noticed I was upset at the end and tried to bring me a dessert. When I said I was full she packed it up along with my other food. She did seem apologetic and tried to fix the situation which I appreciated. I will be honest and say I felt like because I was solo I may have been getting less attention. While the food was pretty good and I would enjoy it with better service I am still unsure how worth it is going for dinner even earlier before the rush. If you want a super long drawn out dinner with little interaction with the server for the trade off for pretty good food then you might like this place.
